Lunch time coaxed me to Crickets for a good (non fast food) burger and that's exactly what I got. The Jumbo beefy awesomeness of crickets burgers is what the crowd should be about. For critics sake I tried the wings and I was not impressed. People rave about their wings but they were petrified in the fryer. I need a dentist stat!!! Get this dried out chicken from my choppers. Was visiting the Madison area and had a taste for wings. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Ordered the large wings daily special, lemon pepper and a side of fried pickles. These wings were OMG delicious. The large daily special comes with 12 wings, fries and tea. The wings were fried to perfection and seasoned just right. I've been here twice in the past couple months and I think its the best wings in Huntsville. The wings have been consistently good. The size of the wings are regular and super crispy and crunchy, just the way I like them. I recommend getting both the Hot and Lemon Pepper sauce on the wings. And the hot isn't too burning hot, just the right amount of bearable heat to enjoy. The fries are just average, but good enough to go with the wings. The staff is friendly. I went to Crickets for the first time because of the reviews. I noticed everyone was having wings. They have a "special" 12 wings, fries and tea for $12.49. I think that is kinda high for a special. Kids meals for less than $5 is not bad. I ordered extra hot wings and BBQ "special". The wings came out lined up in two rows with the sauce poured on one side and not tossed. So the sauce was only one one side. I thought that was strange. It really is a poor idea because they are not coated. They don't brine the wings because almost all of them had dark blood veins when you bit into the over cooked wings. I won't be going back because there are much better locations for quality wings. I just had a terrible experience here and the personnel absolutely did not care. I called in the order and was quoted 20-25 minutes. I came in about 28-29 minutes and the order was not ready. Actually the gentleman said he didn't see the order. They eventually found it but then I waited another 25 minutes. We asked a couple of the customers that were coming in and all of them only had to wait 20-25 minutes. The gentleman continued to avoid eye contact with me. An hour later, my order comes out and I pay. They comp'd my mozzarella sticks for the issues after I asked how they plan to make this right. After I pay, I find out that my complete order was not actually ready so I had to wait on another item. The gentleman checks the food and when we are putting the food back in the bag, the mozzarella sticks topples over and opens with them falling on the counter. He then picks them up and sticks them back in the box and in the bag like no big deal. These people won't be getting another penny from me. When I asked about why it took so long, the lady that took the order comes up either excuses that they are busy and have customers in the dining room. If this is the truth, then the other customers should have waited an hour as well but I confirmed with them that was not the case. Beware of the lackadaisical attitude! read more

I've been to this restaurant multiple times, and each time something is wrong. Charging extra for extra crispy or extra wet is absurd. The sweet tea gets a tablespoon of sugar so it's never good. I get the large special each time and only 6 of my wings have sauce or all 10 pieces have sauce on ONE HAKF OF EACH WING. If it's busy and you have a Togo order be ready to wait 40 minutes because the kitchen is absolutely terrible at pacing tickets which causes everyone to wait even longer. They cover the losfrr frues to the fullest which is good, but the paper under the fries gets 69% of that gooey goodness so it's honestly a waste to order. As someone who worked in a restaurant, these wings are extremely basic, dry, not creative, unseasoned and sad to look at. All the sauces are most likely bottled and not made in house. And after 7 years they still only have one cash register, factor that into the service and this should be a one star, but I'm nice. read more

Normally Cricket's is a go to on my teacher workdays. I'm a massive fan of honey gold sauce, so anywhere I can find it, I get it. I used Grubsouth and ordered the 3 pc. chicken tender special with a side of honey gold and ranch sauce. I'm normally a boneless wing girl, but I wanted to branch out to the tenders. The tenders were extremely overcooked and tough. They tasted like they had been frozen previously and reminded me of Tyson's frozen chicken fingers...actually, they reminded me more of the chicken tenders you would get in the early 2000s from the school cafeteria. I could have made it past the dryness and the taste IF they included the honey gold sauce that I paid for. They included the additional ranch, but not my sweet, sweet honey gold. Next time, if I want chicken tenders, I'll go to tenders. Bottom line, stick with wings here, and avoid the tenders, or you will be having flashbacks to your high school lunchroom experiences. PS. Yes, I know the Grubsouth deliverer should have checked, BUT if you've ever been at Cricket's during the lunch rush, then you would understand that the line is out the door and it can be a stressful environment to find a spot to check the food.
