The food delivery was scheduled for 12:00 to 12:15pm. Two gentlemen from 306 arrived precisely at 12;00. Our meeting was still underway with the Alabama Division President speaking. The gentleman were as quiet as church mice as they unpacked and laid out the food on the serving tables. I quietly met them in the hallway, paid them and thanked them for their professionalism. The food was delicious; smoked chicken, pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dinner rolls, apple cobbler and iced tea. You can't go wrong with 306 Barbecue!

They had other sauces up by the counter. It is a place your order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you sort of deal. Everyone was very nice and outgoing very helpful. I have been eating Big Bob's BBQ my whole life. The quality and taste of the pork shoulder, smoked chicken, and Brunswick stew I recently purchased was very very disappointing. We ordered 2 pounds of pork shoulder. The meat had no taste. I couldn't detect hickory smoke. The pork was burnt and very fatty. The accompanying vinegar based sauce was not seasoned like previous times. Basically it was vinegar with little seasoning. 1/5 The smoked chicken, my favorite, was dry. I wondered if it was leftover from the previous day. The seasoning wasn't very good. 2/5 The Brunswick stew was not good. The recipe has changed. It tasted sweet which was off putting. I do not remember Brunswick stew tasting sweet. The quart of stew had 10 tiny pieces of potato and a few corn kernels. I saw some pork meat floating in a strange red colored broth. I remember when stewed tomatoes were in the stew. Not anymore. The soupy stew did not taste very good. 2/5 The potato with pulled pork was ok. The sauce given was a thin vinegar base that had little seasoning. The potato was the best thing I ate from Big Bob's. 3/5 I am thoroughly disappointed with the quality and taste of Big Bob's pulled pork, smoked chicken and Brunswick stew. I will return again. No chicken. But hey, we were already there and hungry, so we went with the meat sampler and some sides. The ribs had a little more "campfire vibes" than expected, and the pulled pork must've been feeling a bit shy because it came out cold. Luckily, the brisket and sausage stepped up -- my husband gave them two thumbs up (and he's picky, so that's saying something). The beans were simple, nothing fancy, but they did the trick. Was it the five-star experience I dreamed of? Not quite. But sometimes the best memories come from the unexpected stops -- and at least we left with full bellies and a funny story!

Honestly pretty glad for that inconvenience, because it brought us to Barbeque Heaven! There's not a ton of parking, so come in a smaller car if you can. The inside is just a couple of tables and booths with plastic table coverings on them and you order at the counter. You can smell the smoke as you walk up and it smells delicious! I got the impression the man working the register was perhaps the owner. He was very kind, patient, and excited to share with us about their product. He had a good sense of humor and a warm laugh. My mom and I both got the lunch special -- a bbq sandwich with one side and a drink. The price was right and the portions were generous. We both got pulled pork on our sandwiches. I got French fries and she got macaroni and cheese so we could both try each. We also got to sample all three sauces: white sauce, slightly spicy, thinner red sauce, and thicker, sweet red sauce. Honestly, everything we ate was great. The pork was super tender, just smoky enough, and not at all fatty/greasy/gristly (which is my preference by a mile). Good ratio of burnt ends, too. My /only/ very minor critique is that the buns smelled a little weird. Idk if it was the bag they were stored in or what, lol. But they didn't taste weird at all, and their texture was pleasant, so not a huge deal at all. The French fries probably weren't fresh cut, but they were freshly fried, nice and crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside, with some flavorful seasoning coating the exterior. No ketchup needed! The macaroni and cheese was creamy and flavorful, with some crispy cheese on top. We took a combo home for my dad and got him some fried okra; I stole a couple pieces and it, too, was delicious! Flavorful breading and perfectly crispy. Lastly, I nabbed a slice of their obviously homemade red velvet cake. I was too full to eat it til after dinner, haha. The crumb was absolutely perfect - super moist and delicate. The cream cheese icing was, as expected, sweet! But it wasn't crazy sweet and the chopped pecans added a really nice new textural element. This place is well worth the drive if you don't live nearby. I know I'll be looking for excuses to head out their way in the future to get some more delicious bbq.
