Been wanting to try this place as I have seen ads for it. Got up early on a Saturday and was the first person in. Rustic decor, walk up and order. Self serve. Saturday morning, quiet, some blues music in the background. Good ambiance. Food came quickly; biscuits and gravy and their cheesey hash browns. Decent food, hard to screw up biscuits and gravy. My only criticism woukd be, one biscuit was a little hard to cut with a fork. Flipped it over, not burnt. Probably cooked a bit long. Had I a knife, no problem. The hasbrowns, again, hard to screw up. But the salt packets I got I think were wet at one time as I got clumps of salt instead of the individual salt, if that made sense. All in all, a pretty nice way to start a Saturday. I will be back to try their bbq. read more

I've been stopping here for lunches and dinners for years. I live their smoked turkey and pulled pork, both sandwiches and plates. Their hot tamales and Brunswick stew are both on point, too. Today I stopped by to try their breakfast menus for the first time. I got the "four way" biscuit sandwich, along with cheesy hash browns and a drink. I came back to Ted's after a couple of bad experiences. It used to be my favorite spot but because of some rudeness from managers I stopped going. I decided to go again and was met with a worker named Alex I had never met. I think he revived my love for Ted's. He treated me with such an amazing amount of respect and kindness. He helped me locate what I wanted on the menu unlike my past experiences with management. I've lived in Madison County for 14 years now and today I decided to give Ted's a try. I would have been more satisfied if I had stayed home and had a fried bologna sandwich. I ordered a half rack of ribs, beans, and slaw. The ribs had absolutely no flavor, the sides were ok. The ribs had been par-boiled because there wasn't a hint of a smoke ring or smoky flavor, just bland white meat. So very disappointing to have your hopes up and then YUCK. People there's real BBQ in Madison, if you know where to look. Sorry Ted, stop boiling your ribs and smoke'em instead. read more

Update your hours!!! All of your signage says you're open. Literally everything on your building says you're open. But you close at 2 on Saturdays... the food was probably great. Don't know. Wanted to try it. The places had some lights one but also dark... it's not that hard to update your hours. Even the drive through has the wrong hours it's not that hard. read more

Found this place based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Yelp and the 100% health score. This place hit it out of the park on both counts. The wings were absolutely some of the very best which I've ever had, to include my own which I smoke on the BGE. They are on-par with those found Billy's Boardwalk in Charlotte. I also had the pulled park and the potato salad. Both were phenomenal and would stand out on their own. The host/cook/manager/owner took my order and I seated myself. The place is spotless and it's quite evident the staff take great care to clean as well as they cook/smoke their meats. You don't want to miss this joint. I will be back again. Good solid BBQ with a few good quirks. I highly recommend the Briscut but it's only available on Wednesday. Good pork and very good chicken. Sides are solid but not stellar the fries and Mac n cheese are our favorite. You will not be disappointed and will probably find a new craving. The Ted's BarBQ on Madison Boulevard was a Golden Rule BBQ years back, but Ted's has survived for a long time now. What's right? Location, the food is warm, the price is reasonable, the atmosphere, and their condiments are easy to get. What's wrong? Service, attention to detail, and dry Q! Ted's is easy to get to from Hwy 20, and the parking is easy. For three (one to go) we are for less than $30. That's good compared to many. After we were seated the food came fresh/warm. The sides were decent. Placing you order is a wait in line and then you choose your seat. There was one family ahead of my party of two. I checked in with Yelp, and my son was excited to see a complimentary banana pudding or peach cobbler offer. It took Ted's longer than ten minutes to take our order. As we finally sat down we realized that they didn't give us credit for the banana pudding (keep an eye on them). There was nobody at the register to work with me, and I decided to let it go. Bad taste and the food hasn't hit the table :). The pork BBQ sandwich was dry! I loaded mine with sauce to add moisture and ate half of it. Not Ted's night for my review. Why three stars and not less? I have been here before and know they can do better. They do need to step it up a notch, though. If I had more time I would have talked to them to work it out. We bought 3 meals... one of them meals being just a half-rack of ribs... For about $15, a half rack of ribs... Apparently, "Ted" thinks that 3 RIBS is a half rack. We've been there a few times previously and have had no issues... we've even bought a half rack and a full rack of ribs at different times. After living in The South for two weeks, we still had not found good BBQ. I have been searching on Yelp but the reviews were conflicting. We drove past Ted's, I looked at the reviews and decided to give them a try...So glad we did. The cashier upon learning that we were first time customers took the time to go over some of her favorite menu items. Our daughters are not big fans of BBQ so they were happy to try some of their other options. My little one loved the tamales and Mac N Cheese.
