Not only that, but Verizon support will lie about anything to keep your service and then like some more and not follow through on what they say. After we switched, we had these problems. They promised credits, a booster, and after multiple calls and promises, we had no choice but to switch as they do not follow through. At the end, we decided we needed to switch and contacted Verizon to understand the costs involved. They told us it would cost $240 to buy out one of our phones, the other nothing. When we went to cancel though, they said that was wrong and would not honor what their folks said before, even if we had it in writing, and the price we would need to pay would be $1000 more. I contacted them a few times and the last person I talked to said, "You no longer have service with us, we do not need to escalate or do anything for you..." in asking to resolve my issue. They NEVER told me what my final monthly bill would be, but I was told they would have no problem beating my old Verizon bill. I got the first bill on their app because they wouldn't sent me a paper bill, and it was twice what I was paying at Verizon!!!! Even with a "paid off" phone! I went into the store to have them fix whatever was screwed up in the billing and was told to "wait for the dust to settle" and the next month's bill was even higher! I was busy working out of town so I wasn't able to get back to the store right away, the third bill was still twice what Verizon's bill was. I went to the store only to be told the wait time was over an HOUR!!! (Maybe if they didn't lie to their customers and provided quality service the wait would be almost eliminated!) I went back to Verizon, they were able to port my number over only AFTER I payed off a phone that was technically already paid off, and an IPad that I only bought because I was told it was less than $100. So I am THOUSANDS of dollars into a very crappy company and had to return the internet box. Again, a long wait, over 30 minutes, but at least I'll be DONE with these morons!!!!! Once we were ready to purchase the phone, we realized that there was a possibility we were carrying insurance on this particular phone. Anthony helped us look that information up, and got us on a tablet to start the claims process. I personally have service through Verizon (and have for the last 16 years), and today's experience has sold me on transferring my service. Anthony was a professional salesman. AT&T give this man a raise! We'll be coming back to get my service transferred, and to upgrade both our phones... despite this particular store's 1.5 star rating we give Anthony a 5.

I went to Universal Phones in Everett and bought a Galaxy S10+ . When Dia, the sales lady, asked me if I wanted to purchase tempered glass and a protective case for an additional $50, I agreed, let's do it. I immediately noticed that the case didn't seem to fit well, that there were issues getting the side buttons to work thru the case. I was assured that everything was fine and my phone had "good protection" now.  Well the tempered glass didn't even last 3 weeks. I noticed a chip on the edge of the glass, which quickly formed into a crack across the entire faceplate.  I removed the tempered glass, and the case seemed to fit better, I could actually press the side buttons thru the case now. Three months later,  the case is useless.  The plastic around the charge port was pretty thin, and it began to break apart. Today the whole side of the case cracked and broke off.  Absolute garbage! For $15, they will replace the tempered glass, but considering they didn't set it properly and chipped it the first time, I wasn't going to give them more money for ltheir incompetence. They prefer you to pay them with cash, but I don't walk around with $400 in my pocket, so they charged me an additional $15 for using my debit card. Just a total money grab. I'm hoping someone will find this review helpful and save them from being suckered. Don't waste your money at Univeral Phones.

The other deal I had with a private party fell through so I decided to stop in their store. One weird thing is they only accepted cash app as a form of payment... They only had one XS Max so I didn't get the option to choose I also picked out a couple accessories but when I got to my car I looked at my receipt and it was nearly $200 more than the original ad claimed it would be!!! I immediately went back inside and was shut down and told because of the color and condition of the device I wouldn't qualify for the special that that specific one had already sold and that i I could not get a refund!!!! BS!!! All their phones are said to be "grade a" and the color of the phone is irrelevant for all major phone carriers and price difference!!! They offered no sort of solution and pretty much said oh well RUDE!

My Mom loved this store and would go there on average once a week if not more. She would ALWAYS leave with a cart full of bags, despite usually only going in for a couple things. It was normal to see the receipts total be in 300-600 dollar range, especially after she became a grandma and was frequenting the store for my own kids. Being in my mid 30's now, thats at least 30 years of this being her main department store for clothes, toys, home furnishings, electronics, and even groceries when they added them. After rough calculations on very conservative estimates on how much she spent there (400 per month × 12 months × 30 years), at MINIMUM this woman has spent just shy of $150,000 at this single store. My Mother is now in her mid 60's, she is still working in the same place as she has my entire life. She makes very good money after working there for 40 years. Ive never seen this woman break any law or harm a fly. Today as she was leaving target, after spending a couple hundred dollars, she was stopped by 2 policeman who proceeded to take her back inside to a back room. They tell her they have video of her from 2 months ago where she had apparently gone through the self checkout, but did not ring up the items in her arms and walked out without paying for them. My mother, in tears, has no idea what was going on,asks to see the video to try and understand what happened. They refuse to show her any evidence at all, and say she can see it in court. On top of that they ban her from the store for a year, although I doubt she would have ever gone back. She has been in tears for hours since she got home because of this. As a prior business owner myself, I am appalled at the way the store handled this. Even if something happened where she mistakenly walked out without paying for something, as someone who is spending thousands of dollars a year or more there, why not just confront her and show the evidence and ask her to pay for it? She more than gladly would have if that happened. I'm beyond disappointed and upset at target, the store management, and Everett PD for the unprofessionalism and treatment of a lifelong customer. Save yourself the time and money and never go here, their stuff is overpriced anyways in my opinion. And a bull court case is never worth it.
