We brought it to the mall to see what could be done, and the Best Buy next door pointed us here. The two guys were friendly and suggested that the screen might need to be replaced. They quoted me a price, which seemed high compared to the cost of a new tablet, but there was stuff on this one that I needed so I agreed. I conditioned my approval on the basis that if the new screen wouldn't fix it I didn't want to pay for anything. A couple of days later and they called to say it was fixed. I picked up and brought it home and discovered that most of the screen worked fine but the bottom inch didn't. I talked to them on the phone and they offered to order a new screen. It arrived in a couple of days and they made the switch. The process is somewhat convenient though I wish they had hours later than 7PM during the week. I am pretty busy on the weekends so getting here to drop it off (then pick it up, then drop it off again, then pick it up again) spread the process out a lot longer then I would have liked. They weren't cheap ($160) but they did quote me up front and they were quick and polite.

In this regard it's tremendously unethical and irreconcilable, with good business practices, however you still have the best service and for this reason I'll still remain with them until I find a decent service that is infinitely cheaper, and I haven't quite found the right ingredients yet. But this location inside the massive, vast Crossgates Mall had some of the less stellar service that I encountered, and what's more it also had a long wait time and to fix the relatively minor $100 fix problems that the cheaper stores were going to do they wanted to charge me over $700 and let me just tell you that that's not going to happen.

In the past, the closest location to us was in New York City so I would time my visits so that I could stop by while I was visiting cities, like Seattle, Columbus, NYC. When the screen on my pixel 9 Pro went, I was excited to see a dot close to me when I clicked on the map. I called the location, someone picked up right away, and I was able to confirm that they could replace the screen but they stated that they did not have one in stock and took my number down to call me once it came in. After about a week of no calls I called back and no one picked up and I was informed to the voicemail box was not set up. I continue to call sporadically and on the 5th call someone picked up and said that they were expecting a delivery of screens that very day. I called back late afternoon and they said the delivery never came back. Over the next few days I likely called over two dozen times to speak to them a few times and each time I was told that the delivery did not come. Finally, today, when I called, I was informed that they had the delivery in their hands and could confirm that there are screens for my phone. When I arrived I was impressed by the almost lawyer office atmosphere of walking in, being greeted, I went over the phone with the technician, put it into repair mode, and left it with them. It took them a little over half an hour to replace the screen, and I made sure to test the screen for any dead pixels and to make sure that the front camera still worked, and everything was as good as new. I'm very excited about them being here and I'm hoping that over the years they will have more parts, more employees, and maybe some sort of a system of returning calls.

I refused, he pushed and said I was missing out on an awesome deal, refunded the money on my credit card, and I left. The next day I discovered that he had not even refunded the money correctly and had to make a 20 minute call to the credit card company to get compensated for the cost of tax that he had apparently planned to keep. BAH! Terrible experience. Next day I went to the i fixit in Colonie Center. No payment in advance, professional service, checked to make sure he had parts in advance, charged about 50$ less than the guy in Oneida had charged, and fixed it smoothly and quickly. In turn that leaves our Radio Shack employee more time to look at computer porn, get softer, and worry about what version of andriod is running on your phone. Needless to say this kid did not know too much about what I was looking for. They had some of the stuff, but they are moving away from that kind of thing to cell phones and cameras. Circuitry is what most of our modern world is made of, and remarkably tons of this stuff to interact with circuits is out there waiting to be discovered. It takes some time and I'm a beginner, but it's fascinating to know that you can build almost anything you can think of from off the shelf electronic components. geek out.

The staff is knowledgeable and familiar with the products and services, and very pleasant to work with. During slow times, they might only have a single employee working, which can lead to fairly long lines, but even with 4-6 people waiting, the wait is still shorter than at some of the larger stores in the area. They do not have a repair facility on site, so if your phone needs repair rather than a complete replacement, you'll be sent somewhere else unless it's something particularly simple. That said, they can determine when a phone should simply be replaced, so if you're pretty sure it's not repairable, they'll be happy to help out. They have a limited number of accessories, but they stock for the most popular and newest phones. What I like best about t his Sprint store is that everyone tends to be really friendly. The staff, certainly, and I expect that, but also the customers. I think that the efficiency of the store lends itself to a more positive experience, even for people who might have to wait for a little while. Shared conversations and jokes help to make the time pass quickly.
