I was recommended to Spaulding by a local business and he very ably helped me transition from MS to Apple. More recently, I took a non working IPod Classes to TJ when others declined to look at it. Competent and personable. read more

I've used them for years. Spaulding is there to help. Not to sell you new tech. Just to give you an honest answer whether your current laptop or desktop is fixable. Reasonably priced and reliable. read more

I have been here twice in the past couple of years for repair work. Once, I lost files on my computer but I knew they were stored somewhere on a portable USB drive. While it wasn't exactly cheap, they restored all of the files on the USB drive including the ones I had lost on my computer. That was great. Also, last year our computer was acting up and running slow so I brought it here. They did a scan of the hard drives and reformatted parts of the storage so that we had more free space (so our computer wouldn't crash every time we needed to do something) and removed some programs we didn't need (after consulting with us first). Again, great work! read more

The owner told me this business would only accept Cash after we agreed to meet at a certain time for an expensive purchase. I agreed and told him I would have to withdraw the money first and I would be there in that time frame and as I walked in the door he was selling it to someone else saying he didn't here from every ten minutes like an abusive partner and he is clearly doing shady stuff off the books out of this business. Absolutely ridiculous. Waste of half of my Saturday. Dont be fooled by this guy people! The physical location was disgusting as well. read more

My DVD player needed a small repair. TJ fixed the problem in about 10 minutes. No charge. I have used this shop once before and continue to be impressed with the knowledgeable service, friendly atmosphere and very professional attitude. I highly recommend this as a go-to shop for repairs. read more

Any time we've needed help with a problem with one of our computers or printers, we've always gone to Spaulding's and have always received excellent service and at very fair prices. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that deter you.....the knowledge, expertise, friendliness, and fairness of their customer service is the best! After having been ripped off in the past at other computer-repair places, we won't go anywhere other than Spaulding for all our computer needs now. read more

TJ was great! Lost a screw for the back of my laptop and he helped me find a screw that fit as seamlessly as he could. Didn't even charge me and was a great guy with customer service! read more

I was working on a friend's computer but couldn't figure out why the system was failing. I took my computer to Spaulding Computers for help and the team gave me some ideas on how to proceed. They admitted there wasn't much they could assist with but this was welcomed as they didn't try to sell me on parts / services I did not need. I appreciate that a great deal. I'll be using these guys in the future! PS - replacing the processor worked! read more

I have an older Macbook Pro that has needed work twice. TJ at Spaulding Computers is friendly, courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable and fixed the problems I had with quick turnaround times. The price was quite reasonable, too. You can't find a better place to bring your computer. (This review was posted through Google and lists a San Francisco address. I don't know why. I'm from Albany.) read more

TJ was quick, efficient, and competent. I had an HP Envy laptop with a bad SSD. TJ installed a new SSD and operating system. I was up and running in just a few days. read more

Had an issue and they gave me the best advice, free of charge. Very highly recommended.

My son moved to the Albany area to pursue the next chapter of his life and he brought his computer with him. When he attempted to fire up his computer it didn't work. I found Spaulding Computers through Yelp and called. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice and understanding. My son brought his computer to him and he was able to fix it that day, even though with Covid, he initially wasn't able to promise a quick turnaround. Spaulding Computers not only fixed my son's computer but also helped him relax and ease his worry with their kindness and professionalism. read more

TJ is the best! He is knowledgeable in pretty much anything having to do with technology and as someone who is just the opposite, I ask a lot of questions and he has always been exceedingly patient with me. I once brought him a repair that proved to be very challenging and he kept at it until it was as promised and although he had spent quite a lot of time on it, the price was exactly what he had originally quoted me! He is also honest and won't recommend trying to resurrect something that is not worthy of repair just to make a few bucks. Seems these days that he may be of a dying breed - a business owner who excels at customer service and quality of workmanship! read more

Very helpful and resolved issues completely! Courteous and fair price for the repair work.

Very fast and less than efficient. Apple certified and he says he'll work with your time restraints. I saw him tell several walk-ins to call and make an appointment. He really did a number of my metallic frame when he did a screen replacement. Professional and courteous, but a butcher when it comes to the repairs. He has a little ways to go on customer service. Sorry, TJ. read more

I was disappointed that they didn't offer free wifi in the "waiting room", but the wait to fix the power button on my Apple iPhone 4 was much shorter than expected. Friendly and knowledgeable. They accept payment through Square! read more

What a great place ! They diagnosed my Mac the minute i brought it in, gave me a price and guaranteed the price. I picked up my laptop today and everything is perfect. I will be going back again. read more

Highly recommend. Great service and great price. I Brought in my laptop that crashed and I thought it was done for good. They ended up fixing it for 75 bucks and I was on my way. Sure beats spending 800 on a new computer! read more

Splauding's is great. I got a fast and accurate quote on my PC repair. Within days it was fixed and as good as new! He even fixes cracked cell phone screens. I don't trust anyone else with my computer anymore. I don't think anyone knows more about computer's than T.J. Spaulding. read more

I got the deadly Blue screen on my PC and couldn't do anything with it. I talked with friends in an attempt to find somewhere that I could get a trustworthy repair. That's when I found Spaulding. I got my computer back and it started up right away and all my programs are working just when I thought I'd have to buy a new one. Hope I don't have a future problem, but if I do I'll know where to go - Spaulding Computers. read more

Well COVID had no effect on Spaulding Computers. By far the best experience I have had with repair services in general. Quick and prompt. Explained what was wrong, needed, and time it would take. Two MacBooks back up and running like new at a significant less cost than AppleCare and a lot quicker. read more

I have had several little projects where i've needed random parts, TJ has always come through. He's the guy to go to if you have an older mac or PC that needs some TLC. read more

This is the second time I have used Spaulding computer, the first time was at their previous location. I have found them to be polite and personable, knowledgable and very reasonable in pricing. Both times my computer was diagnosed and fixed professionaly and on time. Their new location is very easy to find on Central ave next to TJ's resturant. I recently took my high end ASUS computer to Spaulding Computers with a host of operating issues. TJ provided excellent service to bring my machine back to snuff. Turn around time and repair costs were extremely efficient and more than reasonable! Spaulding will be my go-to place for computer issues in the future! Have had several iPhones and MacBooks repaired at Spaulding Computers. TJ is very knowledgeable regarding Apple products and is able to quickly diagnose the problem. Always high quality work, a fair price, and quick service. Would definitely recommend. read more

Last week my 10 year old iMac died. Apple won't repair an "obsolete" device but TJ at Spalding Computer was efficient, fair and reliable in assessing the condition of my old iMac, downloading my data, directing me to the steps necessary to get back in business (need an external drive and a new computer) and putting the data on a new device. And when I was in the shop I saw him work with folks with broken iPhones, iPads and a senior citizen who needed help getting on-line. I observed TJ handle these customers patiently and fairly. I'm recommending Spalding Computers to everyone. Chuck Naylor read more

My computer got a virus on it 2 days before a big presentation I had to give. The next morning i woke up and called and they said to bring it in. I dropped it off at 10 and had it back by 5 working perfectly with a free installment of new anti-virus software for less than the price quoted. With computer repair it's really hit or miss when it comes to the skill and honesty of the people you meet. T.J. was the guy that worked on my computer and I was really impressed with the fairness of price and quality, not to mention speed. Would def. recommend to anyone who needs a fix and quick. read more

Sorry, TJ, your terrible customer service gets a rare 1-star rating from me. I usually try to see the positive, but after two weeks of false promises, repeated requests for more time, and changing repair plans, this customer just had to cut her losses and take her business elsewhere. read more

I visited Spaulding on 7/21/2018 with a Thinkpad that started but had a black screen. TJ opened up the case while I was there and did some diagnostics, though the problem was not completely solved. He suggested a couple of things I could do when I got home; I tried them, and they worked. So he's a genius, and I'm a genius for contacting him. read more

I can't praise TJ enough! Fixed my phone problem in minutes (a jammed sim tray and broken key in the sim hole...yup!) and gave me advice on what to do (and not to do) next. Great service and prices. Highly recommended. read more

Had a Lenovo laptop that wouldn't boot and a MacBook Air maxed out on storage. TJ was able to fix the Lenovo. I got a replacement MB Air with mush larger SSD, and he partitioned part of the drive with Boot Camp and installed Windows 10 Pro. Now everything is on one laptop and runs great. Very reasonable prices. Next time I have a computer problem, this is where I'll go. read more

I brought my Windows laptop in this afternoon for what I thought might be a battery replacement or a death rattle with file extraction. It had been playing dead for a couple of weeks after a Windows 10 update months ago. I left it plugged in & got an iPad. Amazingly enough, once I got it in to Spaulding, and after some hesitation, it booted up. Rather than making me feel foolish, TJ explained the problems with the Windows 10 updates & said this is a common issue -- even the extreme 'hanging' despite multiple attempts to shut down & re-boot. In short, I got a boatload of advice about various tech issues 'on the house,' and a lead on a possible replacement for my Windows-based laptop -- all in a civilized, courteous conversation on a late Friday afternoon. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest, knowledgeable service. read more

Great customer service. Above and beyond when explaining challenges and options for repair. Quick work. Fair prices.

Highly recommended. Fast and courteous customer service. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. So much better than going to the Apple Store. Thanks TJ!!! read more

TJ provided me excellent customer service as well as a superior knowledge of the Apple products. I was going to use a kiosk in the mall to repair my broken IPhone 5 and I'm grateful I didn't. After learning that some if not all kiosk technicians use OEM parts off of EBay and hearing horror stories working with Spalding Computers was a pleasant surprise. read more

Convenient location, fast and friendly service, great prices. I called to see how much it would be for a phone battery replacement and they double-checked to be sure they had stock before I came in. Didn't have stock that day but it came in the next day. I went in on Saturday, they changed out my battery in about 10 minutes and off I went. Best price in town for my iphone 6s. Best service and results I could've hoped for. I'll be checking with them again for future electronics needs. read more

In one word "Excellent "! Figured out issue immediately and took care out it. When I asked him what I owed him he replied "whatever you want to give me". What I heard was "nothing, but a tip would be appreciated". He could have taken the computer, called me back later and charged me whatever he wanted. He took the time to check it first and resolve issue on the spot. Was happy to tip him. Obviously won't happen in all cases but worked for me this episode. Will us him again should I have future needs. read more

The guy is honest, knowledgeable and friendly. He tells you how it is and charges only what is quoted. If more work is needed, he calls you first.
