They did a scan of the hard drives and reformatted parts of the storage so that we had more free space (so our computer wouldn't crash every time we needed to do something) and removed some programs we didn't need (after consulting with us first). I moved to this area and into my house just over 3 months ago. My gas oven started making an odd…read morenoise when coming up to temperature. Once at desired temp, no noise was made. I took the bottom of the oven apart and watched the flame when I turned it on. The flame would go up and back down, over and over until it reached the temperature. I took a video of this, showed it to a family member who recommended I go to Rensselaer Appliance. I went there the next morning and was told that they didn't sell that brand of appliance but would order the part and install it. I was quoted a price and then asked if I would be putting good money into something that it would be better to replace. Bottom line was fix it. The service tech that came was Mike. He was polite, professional, thorough and obvious to me he knew exactly what he was doing. When it came to pay, the invoice did not have a breakout of the cost of the part nor labor. When I questioned this, Mike very politely said charges are by the job and if I had questions I should call the store which I did after he left. (I had no problem with Mike, he was just doing his job.) I spoke with the owner asking for the cost of the part and was told he didn't know what it was that he had ordered it. I asked wouldn't there be paperwork for that and he said he would have to look into it and call me back. When he called back he was not courteous nor pleasant in any way especially when I questioned the charge for labor. Mike was here, start to finish for 45 minutes. The labor cost for a 45 minute repair was $279.54. When I questioned (the owner) this he told me they charge by the job and the next time to go somewhere else! He was extremely professional, rude and condescending to me and yes Bob, I will go elsewhere and never set foot in your store again. I was very, very disappointed, to say the least with this overall experience and how I was treated. As an fyi, I have never written a review about any business prior to this. I was treated so unprofessionally, I just could not let this go unspoken.

Do yourself a favor and stop in here if you are in the market for a computer. Get local service and support, get a good product at a good price, and support a local business. Computer Answers is located in the corner of the Price Chopper/Columbia Plaza strip mall on Columbia Turnpike (9&20). You may not have noticed it, but it is worth seeking out. Bright blue LED lights are now installed around the shop windows to help draw your eye. Inside, the store itself is a no-nonsense tech-oriented shop that skips the mood lighting, Muzak, and other frills. What it offers instead is excellent service for computer sales, repairs, and upgrades. Computer Answers offers good values with a selection of refurbished desktop and laptop computers with warranties at good prices. So, why buy a computer here, instead of online, for from a big retail or a Big Box store? Here is my first hand experience as a reason: I was helped with my purchase decisions by Kevin who works in the shop during daytime hours. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with information about the computers offered for sale. What differentiates Computer Answers from the normal retail store is on-the-spot personalized service. I wanted to upgrade the laptop from its standard 4 GB of memory to 8 GB. Kevin quoted me a great price, and 10 minutes later, two name brand 4GB memory boards were installed in the laptop.. Kevin pointed out that the 32-bit OEM version of the Windows 10 operating system installed on the computer could only utilize 4GB of memory. So, Kevin is upgrading the the operating system to the 64-bit system so that I will get the value I paid for for the memory upgrade. Thanks, Kevin. I don't think a Big Box store would offer such knowledge and service. Oh, yeah, and Microsoft Office came per-installed and registered on the computer. That's not a 30-day trial either, that's usable software included in the purchase price. The shop offers a 6 month warranty with a computer purchase, and up to three-year warranties are available if desired. They will also migrate files from your old computer to your new one as part of the purchase price. I heartily recommend that you check out Computer Answers in East Greenbush as part of your research when shopping for a new computer. I am glad I did.

I'd like to see some new equipment, and have some of the existing equipment repaired or replaced. But, there's really good bones, here. Having opted for a family membership with my partner, we've brought my spawn here several times. The kids space is pretty well set up. It would be nice if it were staffed a little more. I'd actually say that's one of the things the space lacks, is clear staffing. Everyone I've met so far has been friendly, and helpful. Very nice. The location is really central. Parking is the only real pain, weekends are pretty convenient. Lots of nearby food and beverage. Nibble moved in right next door. It's a great space.

He listened and answered our questions. He prepared an estimate that was emailed to us. We approved and paid a deposit. Shortly, after an appointment for installation was set up. The plan-- *Install a new 55" Samsung TV mounted on brick wall above our fireplace. A sound bar was attached to the bottom of the TV. It will improve sound in the large family room with a vaulted ceiling. *Move the 46" Samsung TV we bought from Towne four years ago to another room, the office sitting area. It was mounted on a wall. Service men were efficient and professional. (They removed shoes in the house.) They checked with us about details including appropriate placement. After installation, an informative clear explanation of the remote settings for the tv and for the sound bar were given. They cleaned up. We highly recommend this family owned local business.

I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I am to have those bees gone, and the peace of mind that comes along with it. These guys are just great. Last year, I had to rent out my own house while I was in New Jersey, and our tenants had some critter problems. After calling around to a few places, it was clear that this company offered the easiest most straightforward solution. Love them and the poison they produce from plants and such. It's still poison. He showed me a couple of televisions that would work but one was way more expensive than I needed (his words actually) and the other was so basic that various apps couldn't be installed onto it. I have had my taxes done by Dave Haggarty several times and he has done a fine job. This year, I…read moreexpected once again to do my taxes with Dave; however, the secretary did not save my appointment. I admit, I did have to reschedule twice, but I left more than 24 hrs notice both times. I came in the third time at my scheduled time and told the secretary I was here to see Dave. Dave came out of his office in full force and started yelling at me for having to reschedule. He said I had rescheduled "five or six times" (I did not) and said I did not have an appointment (I did). He said all I could do is leave the forms with him. By this point, I no longer trusted him so I went to H&R Block. Haggarty is capable but the secretaries do not keep appointments. If you choose to go to him, be sure to remember the name of the secretary who you spoke to and time of call. They have seven of them over there and one doesn't talk to the other.
