Second time in four years we have benefitted from the expertise and good service provided by this company. From the consult appointment of KC to installation, we are pleased with the excellent customer service. Initially, KC made a visit to consult on our needs. No charge for home visit! He listened and answered our questions. He prepared an estimate that was emailed to us. We approved and paid a deposit. Shortly, after an appointment for installation was set up. The plan-- *Install a new 55" Samsung TV mounted on brick wall above our fireplace. A sound bar was attached to the bottom of the TV. It will improve sound in the large family room with a vaulted ceiling. *Move the 46" Samsung TV we bought from Towne four years ago to another room, the office sitting area. It was mounted on a wall. Service men were efficient and professional. (They removed shoes in the house.) They checked with us about details including appropriate placement. After installation, an informative clear explanation of the remote settings for the tv and for the sound bar were given. They cleaned up. Met with all the big three companies for our new house & getting set up with TVs, theater room, gym sound and surroundsound outdoor speakers etc. etc.. All my neighbors told me to start with TOWNE TV and I wish I did. Wasted a lot of precious time getting quotes from other companies. Friendly staff, good selection. We were just browsing but will likely come back to this store when we are ready to buy. After 9 years it was time to upgrade the Home Theater, New OLED TV, Speakers, AV receiver, the works. Process was easy (although not inexpensive). Home visit to see the lay out, meet and discuss options. Later receive detailed proposal for equipment to be purchased, with listing of price and labor. After agreement and partial payment they schedule the installation. It was at this point we had a hiccup with a miscommunication of installation date. However the miscommunication was half their fault and half mine, so it was a push. What was great was that their installation supervisor KC came out into the field at the last moment on the Friday before Superbowl to get my job done. This was service above and beyond. Found Towne TV on Yelp. One site visit followed by one install visit. Everyone showed up on time and staff was very friendly. 2 guys did the installations and they did a great job. Showed us how everything worked and made sure we were satisfied before they left. Job came in slightly under budget too. Would definitely call Towne TV in the future! read more

Town TV is an upscale electronics and home theater store. The alternatives include the Magnolia store in Best Buy in Crossgates and Hippos in Stuyvesant plaza. Check out my reviews of those for more details. Towne TV's store is always a little disorganized but they have a wide selection of all types of products. They seem to focus on high end dedicated home theater installations. The staff is not at all even concerned about making a sale and they will just talk shop with you all day. This is a little different than Hippos where they want the sale and will steer you a little. It is very different than Magnolia where some of the staff are just used car salesmen. read more

Just upgraded my kitchen with a new range and dishwasher from Towne TV Audio and Appliances. They had the brand and style I wanted and gave me an excellent price on the package. Kevin, the salesperson, was very helpful and was able to accommodate my special instructions for delivery. The appliances were ordered and were in within a couple days. The only delay was that they received a range that was damaged, which they sent right back. I really appreciated their integrity. The delivery men were awesome! They were professional and conscientious, taking great care taking out the old and bringing in the new appliances. Everything put back in place and not a scratch anywhere! Towne TV is a great place do business. My wife and I stopped by to inquire about some TV/Audio upgrades we wanted to make. We were warmly greeted by Jevaughn We told him what we were looking to do and wanted to pick out all the Audio before having a piece of custom furniture made for the project. He took all the time we needed to hear all of our options included in the dual zone system we wanted. I should say that this journey started at the beginning of February which posed a unique set of new challenges, Jevaughn gave me a step by step instruction in an extended e-mail on how to make the system come together. Over the time that it took to make this happen I also dealt with Mickey and Nick with cables and installation pieces. Everyone treated us to the highest level of customer service that you could hope for. We have a GREAT system that was purchased for at a great price. The advice we received was included in the price of the product and we could not have been any more satisfied. read more

They quoted me for work at my house (replace exisitng camera's; replace TV; move equipment /Wires etc). 1st time dealing with so compared some of their prices for equipment and was floored by the tremendous mark ups some double the price for same item that amounted to thousands of dollars added to proposal. Their costs for HDMI cables and Misc costs thrown onto proposal are extremely excessive. They seemed knowledgeable but their recommendations on equipment is not necessarily to the customers best interest. I got a $14,000 proposal done for $7,000 with better equipment. They weren't rude in anyway but my advice to anyone would be to verify and check you quotes with manufacturers to assure you are getting best product for needs. Don't believe me or the company's response, check for yourself and make your own determination. Good Luck read more
