Just had another outstanding experience purchasing an appliance at Marcella's in Schenectady! My Bertazzoni 36" Freestanding 4-door French Door Refrigerator died on Wednesday, at least the freezer died. Bought nine years ago at Marcella's. On Thursday, we went to Marcella's and worked with Raffael, Sales Consultant, to replace it. He was excellent! He showed us many comparable models in the showroom including more in the "Special Sale Prices Room." He explained the distinguishing features of each model and was careful to meet our needs. Raphael was PATIENT, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We are very pleased with the refrigerator we decided to buy. He explained the warranty clearly. Checkout was efficient and experienced. Raphael arranged for the new refrigerator to be delivered on Saturday. More reasons to doing business here: The $89. local delivery fee was waived because they are running a Black Friday promotion. There was no extra charge for set up and removal of the old appliance. Highly recommend Marcella's in Schenectady. read more

We ordered 4 high end appliances (thermador and ge monogram) from this store in January 2025. They were originally supposed to be delivered on 3/14, per our salesmen Ryan Caruso. I took the day off from work unpaid, however I never received a phone call nor a delivery. Upon speaking to Ryan he stated that he emailed 2 people to schedule the delivery for that date and neither did thinking the other one did. After we called him out on this he eventually admitted it was his fault. First of all this is no way to run a business. The next available delivery date was not until 4/18 because of availability issues. Due to this massive inconvenience and Ryan completely dropping the ball on my very high priced order Ryan promised us extended warranties on all of the appliances. Fast forward to 4/18 the appliances arrived the delivery and installation crews were amazing. Super efficient helpful and friendly. Upon inquiring about the extended warranties Ryan now is telling us (in April) it was only for the oven. So I contacted the store manager Robert Brilling who again was very friendly and helpful and said he would get the warranties taken care of. It is now September 19th and although there have been countless emails back and forth promising we would receive an email from consumer protection services (cps) we have received nothing. I wanted to wait until I received the warranties to post this review because obviously it would change it. However here we are 6 months after the initial expected delivery and we have no extended warranties we were promised. We have more appliances to purchase and we will never come back to this store if this isn't taken care of and will advise all of my friends and neighbors never to use them. We could have gotten the same appliances at a different small business for the same price with much better service and I will do that from this point on unless of course this is made right. I just wouldn't use Ryan Caruso as my salesperson and would recommend to all my friends not to use him either. read more

After doing repeat business with Marcellas for several years and referring family and friends, I regret to say that the Frigidaire electric range that we purchased from them never "broke in" properly. It continues to emit a strong chemical smell when turned on that smells like burning plastic. The tech who came out today was very thorough and polite, but said it was normal and that all ovens smell like that now. As I have two friends who have purchased new ovens within the last year, I know that is not true. Marcellas said they will help us no farther. read more

I asked my plumber to recommend a good place to buy a new washing machine. He recommended Marcella's, saying that they sell the actual major brands of appliances, unlike the big box stores that are sometimes selling knockoffs. Marcella's prices are better, too. I found a GE washer on Marcella's website that I liked, then visited the store to see and buy it in person. The salesman was pleasant and efficient. They were having a free delivery special starting the following week, and even though I was early, he gave me free delivery. The washer was delivered 5 days later and quickly hooked up, with free removal of my old washer. I have washed several loads so far and am completely pleased. read more

High End Appliances - Low End Customer Service Summary: try and look elsewhere if you can. We ordered all new appliances from the Schenectady, NY store for our kitchen renovation and the ordering process was very smooth. However once they got our final payment and were arranging delivery things started to take a turn. The delivery team was rude, confrontational, and was blaming us for not letting them know our stove was going to be hooked up to propane (which was going to be more work for them) and attempted to charge us more on the spot to complete the install. We had clearly stated during the ordering process with our sales associate that we were connecting to propane, so something must have gotten lost on their side. There's a pleasant and helpful way of solving this problem, and then there's the approach that they chose to take. Some of the appliances were hastily installed and there was tape residue that had to be scraped and cleaned off and plastic coverings that were partially torn off that had to be dug out of crevices on the new fridge. The icing on the cake though was they didn't deliver one of the pieces we ordered. We sent several emails over a month inquiring about when it would be delivered, without a single reply to any of them. We called numerous times to the showroom and each time we were told the sales manager "was with a customer at the moment and would call us back" - he never did. Finally after weeks of calling the associate said the sales manager probably isn't going to call us back (!!) and tried to find someone else to help us out. Our missing item was finally located and delivered two days later. Unprofessional experience throughout. Try and find another source for your appliances if you can. read more

Was really disappointed with a recent experinece I had. My wife and I decided to go local to purchase a dryer for our home vs going to home depot..etc. We thought we would keep the business local as well as receive better service and repairs down the road. After they installed the dryer there was a gas smell through the house. The installer told us to run the dryer once and that it was dissipate. That was not the case. The smell continued for an hour. We had to turn off the gas line and call into the store. The call was made at 4:00. We thought this was a pretty big deal as there was a gas leak. They said that they would send someone out first thing in the morning. Which they did and it was fixed at 10:00 am the next day. I was just surprised with the way it was handled, i was shocked that the installer left the install while the smell of gas was so strong. And I was flat out disappointed with the response when talking to the manger this morning. Not the experience I was hoping for by going local hoping to get a better service experience. read more

Well - I have never left a bad review on a company because I understand things happen. After refusing the first damaged appliance, we accepted a new date for two weeks later. The same damaged appliance was delivered. We are now on four months of waiting for an appliance because we keep being told excuses on why we can't have our appliance. Now - from a personal standpoint, the employees are kind and limited on what they can do. The fact that a company doesn't have multiple back up plans to support their customers is an embarrassment. I have been a customer of Marcella's for over 20 years, and they never disappoint. Recently, I had an issue with my Samsung refrigerator, and called Samsung since it was a known issue. Samsung arranged service through a different authorized repairer and it was an awful experience, even before they came to the house. I cancelled the service (which would have been free), and called Marcella's. I was perfectly willing to pay for the repair to be done by Marcella's. Marcella's is authorized to work on Samsung, but because they're not one of the big companies on the list, they don't get noticed. I called Marcella's on a Friday, the technician arrived on time Monday morning and ordered the repair kit from Samsung. Behind the scene, Marcella's contacted Samsung on my behalf and fought to get the repair covered if Marcella did the work. The part arrived and the issue fixed within 4 days. The technician didn't leave a foot print, drop of water or spec of dirt behind. Awesome. Then he told me that there would be no charge for the repair because the service department had convinced Samsung to cover the cost. Marcella's didn't need to do that, it's just another example of how they go above and beyond for their customers. They take pride in their work, fix things right the first time and repay loyalty with loyalty. You won't get that from a big company! Thank you! read more

Beware! Scam artist! I purchased a gas dryer off the floor( they promised me it was never used and only on the clearance area because it was the person who ordered electric and they delivered gas) on August 21 I was so grateful to have it delivered on the 24th as I was in a much needed rush for a dryer for my business. Used dryer twice both times it wreaked of gas. I called and they were all very polite( the only time ) had a maintenance guy come the next day, said nothing is wrong with the dryer. The next day I went to use the dryer and it didn't work. Had to wait another week for Maintenance to come and tell me the gas valves are broken ( hence the gas Smell) suggested we order parts ( for a drying I didn't even get to use!!) After leaving multiple message and call backs after being hung up while transferred they finally agreed to ship me a new dryer. " It Will be delivered" the following week. Day before Delivery I get notified of the delivery time frame via email and text, just to wait for it not to be delivered. Once I got ahold of someone they said they called me told me it wasn't being delivered ( I would have never canceled day)and said I needed to pay extra for new model to be delivered Tuesday. I told them absolutely not, they "understood how frustrated I was and will upgrade the dryer without cost" Called Monday to confirm dryer was being delivered, which they confirmed it was, to receive a call late afternoon that it was not going to be delivered and it would have to be Thursday. I asked if they could work with my schedule as best they could because now this is 5th day I have to cancel my work. And they were extremely rude about it Finally, after 3 weeks, I have a dryer that is clearly NOT NEW and all scratched up! I'm beyond upset with Experience, and Will never shop at Marcella's again. read more

I went in to purchase a new Washing Machine and After a 15 minute wait, with 3 employees there, one with a customer, no one would recognize me as a customer, completely ignored! Not a hello, nod of a head, nothing. The other two individuals totally ignored me, like I wasn't even there, it would've been nice to hear we'll be right with you at a minimum. This is an example of how a business can lose customers and end up closing their doors. Our stove died during the pandemic crisis and we went to Marcella's for a new stove. But a part on the brand new stove stopped working soon after it was installed. A serviceman from Marcella's came to verify that the part was broken. It was very difficult to replace the part given the stoppages in supply chains during the crisis. Eventually, Marcella's decided to take a part from another stove and fix ours, which worked perfectly. We appreciate their support and flexibility in these challenging times. read more

RIP OFF ARTISTS!! My father has faithfully purchased every appliance in his home from the Schenectady store. Recently he had trouble with the ice machine in his Bosch refrigerator and called them to fix it. They sent someone out who spent a long time diagnosing the issue. He said it was a fan. My dad said he thinks it's the ice machine, since it was the ice machine that stopped working. The repairman didn't care. He replaced the fan, charged my dad $500 and left. My dad paid the bill. The ice machine never worked again. My dad asked again for someone to come fix it, they sent a different person out who said it needed a new ice machine now, and wanted to charge $200 more dollars. They never fixed the original problem and charged him $500 for a part that wasn't even broken. My dad asked for them to make good on the ice machine, he shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. The guy from Marcella's said "We can't absorb that cost." Now here we are, my dad still has no ice, (but he has a new fan that wasn't even broken to begin with) and Marcella's is out thousands of dollars by losing a loyal customer because of a $200 part. Not to mention MARCELLAS has earned a one star Yelp review and I'm going to tell everyone to get their appliances somewhere else. Way to do business Marcella's! read more

Had to wait 6 months for my new appliances for my renovated kitchen. Sadly, the fridge was very dirty inside, the drawers for the door were not to that model and the fridge was scratched inside and on both doors. They offered to replace the fridge and when the replacement came the delivery drivers noticed a huge dent in the side door and didn't bother unboxing the rest. Since then I haven't received a call back and no one addresses my issue when I try calling. They always tell me I'll get a "call back" but no one is calling back! My microwave came with the dented panel and when service came to replace it, even the replacement part was dented right out of the box. I thought I was doing a good thing by supporting a local business and was ok with spending a little more to do so. But now I have overpaid for a fridge that I would probably get a very modest offer for at a garage sale. I have buyer's remorse and wish I would have gone to Home Depot instead. This would have been easily resolved at Home Depot based on my prior experiences there. When I called today I was told that the guy who sold me the appliances no longer worked for and they were wondering who was going to pay for the replacement. I have no idea what that means but why are you bothering to tell me? I paid for a new product and got a dirty defective product. Avoid this store at all costs and stick with Home Depot. Wife and I just bought a new house. That means lots of appliances. All of them in fact. Fridge, range, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer. Before I stopped into Marcella's I did a lot of research online. Once I found the models I knew would fit into our home, I think started to hit the stores to check out the appliances in person and get price quotes. I visited Home Depot, Best Buy, Lowe's, Sear's, Earl B. Feiden's and Marcella's. I ended up visiting Marcella's last. I should have visited them first. Not only was their service great (no pressured sales tactics) their prices were MUCH, MUCH lower than any of the other stores. Even Feiden. Each appliance was at least $100 cheaper at Marcella's. I initially bought all the kitchen appliances first. A few weeks later I bought the laundry appliances by simply calling over the phone and purchasing. Took 5 minutes. Totally hassle free. I will be making it a big point to visit Marcella's for any appliances I may need in the future. read more

In December, I vowed to shop only local to support small businesses. I walked into Marcella's in Clifton Park and left with a refrigerator purchase. I had been going back and forth for months, previously, at the big box stores but could never get anyone to wait on me or if they did, they could not have seemed less interested in selling me anything. I worked with the salesman Paul Lisi who as a side note is a retired Marine. Shopping here was a double win! Paul was a no pressure salesman. He was very professional and friendly. The staff in the store were all attentive. I didn't stand there waiting for anyone. They greeted me right away. The delivery people were also excellent. They were tidy and gave me a quick tutorial of the features and how to use them. I'd highly recommend Marcella's. read more

We were recently in the market for a new dishwasher, so we called Marcella's to ask for assistance in finding one that best suited our needs. The sales person was less than helpful. He gave us little information (and the wrong information) on the dishwashers we were looking into, which led us to purchasing something we were not happy with. After our purchase we paid them to install it, and he gave us the wrong day and time. We wasted a large portion of our Saturday waiting for no one to show up. We later contacted them about the issue and have heard nothing back. HORRIBLE customer service and would not recommend using them! First the stove was smashed underneath, and missing all the downdraft parts. Had to wait and , of course, pay more money to get a working model. I had a very bad experience with Marcella's in downtown Scehenctady. For 30 years they have been the providers of my appliances. This round they were not only not helpful but when I purchased washer and dryer with the understanding that if they were not the correct size (they were in stock) they would change the order. When it turned out that the depth was too deep, they wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee on something that they already had in stock. Although I cancelled the order on a Wednesday, the delivery truck arrived on Friday. I am still struggling to get my money returned but everyone is always in meetings. Last purchase here. read more

No rush, no pressure, and he put together a set of kitchen appliances that met every bullet point we specified. No push to go high-end, but not budget units just to hit a price point. I've had Whirlpool appliances from Marcella's for a little over a year, purchased for new condo construction. The bulb under the microwave burned out, and I would normally be able to replace it. In unscrewing the bulb, it broke out of the base. The bulb is in a very awkward position underneath the microwave and I could not reach it. I arranged for a service visit but then could not find a replacement bulb. Marcella's advised me that they do not carry parts. A repair service that does not have parts??? I was told I would need to go to a parts store 10 mi from my home. I decided to cancel the service call and left a message for Marcella's at 1 pm yesterday. This morning the repair tech called to find out if he could come a little later. Obviously Marcella's did not give him my message. This service call would cost me more than a brand new microwave would. Needless to say, I will not buy one from Marcella's. read more

Purchased a $2,309 Whirlpool refrigerator on 12/5/16 at Marcella's in from Tina in the Clifton Park store. We've dealt with Tina since we purchased our first house in 1991. The refrigerator died on us yesterday. Marcellas's would NOT do anything to help us in their Clifton Park or Schenectady stores. They were very happy to take our money when we made our expensive purchase ..... for an item that should have lasted much longer than 2 years. NEVER going back or recommending them. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing a dishwasher. I bought all my appliances about ten years ago from Marcella's. I had no problem. My mom needed a new dishwasher recently (the one that was broken was installed by Marcella's). We went in, told them the kind she had and salesman told us the ones that would fit. We ordered one, it was delivered but didn't fit. So, it was brought back. We waited several days before finally getting another salesperson to help. He told us there was also a problem with the installation as the last dishwasher wasn't hooked up properly (I reminded him it was Marcella's that put it in) We got another dishwasher, they delivered, but SURPRISE, the installer couldn't install it. He said they would have a plumber contact us. We waited days again before finally someone told us they would credit back the installation fee and a plumber would be calling us. That was 4 days ago - no plumber has called. NEVER AGAIN! Terrible customer service! read more

The salesman in Clifton Park was great, but I felt bad about having to call him repeatedly to manage the installation of my rather basic replacement range hood. It took SIX separate rescheduled appointments/visits (sometimes I got a call; sometimes I didn't, once I got a call but they arrived an hour early and I wasn't home, once the team arrived without the hood) before my purchase was finally installed. During the installation the technician lit a burner under a protective blanket causing it to smolder, leaving ash and a nasty odor in the kitchen. (It was an accident and he was nice about it, but maybe we are just getting along so well because he's been here so often he feels like a part of the family.) We're not done yet: a piece was dented and I will have to endure yet ANOTHER visit to correct this. My lost wages due to all these days of missed work far exceed the value of the item I bought. I don't think there is any possible compensation for the level of aggravation I have experienced. read more
