This business is no longer Cocca's as it was brought out by Marcella's Appliance Center. It's still at the same location that Cocca's was. Our washing machine had gone to the happy hunting grounds and I had purchased many things from Cocca's in the past so decided to give them another try for a new washer. I was surprised to see that it had been taken over by Marcella's which I knew nothing about. My wife and I were greeted by a representative by the name of Peter Harvey, who was extremely personable and listened to what we wanted. I had done my homework in advance and knew exactly what brands I was interested in. Peter honored my interest in only those brands and proceeded to show us several models that fit the features I was looking for. We did end up selecting one of the models I went in looking for and found Peter to be a great representative not only did he explain all the features, but he showed us a model of the same brand that we wanted that was on a major clearance sale and actually had more features than the one we had actually looked at. In the end, we did end up purchasing the clearance model and there was an accessory that went with it and we got a price and I didn't particularly like the price so I asked them to do better and without hesitating Andrew, the customer service manager there took $100 off the price that I didn't like Sometimes you just have to ask the question. Andrew was really great about it. He didn't give us any attitude to make it look like he was doing us a favor. He just wanted to continue my previous relationship with the business. Because Peter and Andrew were so nice, we also purchased the extended warranty, which added an extra five years to the manufacturers Warranty. Normally I don't purchase aftermarket warranties, but the price was extremely reasonable, I thought, and the presentation was very friendly and not pushy at all. Peter set up for delivery within two days and so far the experience has been extremely positive. I may come back and post how the delivery goes since they are delivering the new one and removing the old one all for extremely reasonable charge. read more

This is now Marcella's of Albany. I bought my dishwasher there 13 years ago when it was Cocca's and I was pleased. Our Refrigerator died and we went to all the big box stores looking for a new one. Had lot's of information. Decided to add Marcella's to the list before we were done for the day. Not only did Ned, who took care of us, know more about the products we had looked at previously, their prices were the same or better. They charged less for warrentee and installation and take away. Purchased a new stove, microwave and refrigerator. All had worked well until we had a problem with the refrigerator. We had service out for repairs 7 times and unfortunately the problem could not be repaired. Not only did we not have to pay for any repairs (because of their 3 year warranty) we received a new refrigerator without even having to fight for a new one. Frank the owner, was very accommodating and was very helpful. The two gentlemen that delivered the new refrigerator were courteous and helpful. When I'm in the need of an appliance I shop around and bring Frank my prices and he always beats the price. The unit was broken -- the door does not close properly and the ice machine does not work. we have had 4 service visits now from their repair shop (Appliance Man) and they have brought the wrong part over 4 times now. I asked them why they can't bring the right part and they are telling me that the manufacturer is sending the wrong part to them. I have called the owner Frank to help me resolve this. Avoid at all costs. These corrupt clowns did an inept job installing the water line to the ice maker of our new refrigerator, which sprayed all over the wall causing a severe mildew issue that required a professional mold appraisal. But it gets better. When we purchased the refrigerator, a salesman said he'd have someone install it, but would state on the paperwork that it was a "customer install" so we wouldn't have to pay for it. Sounded like a nice gesture at the time, though I now realize it's a way to hold the customer responsible for an ice maker water line breaking and causing house damage. Clever, but also reprehensible. Sure enough, when Cocca's was contacted about the issue, an extremely defensive and nasty woman told us it was our fault for installing it incorrectly. When it was pointed out that we didn't install it, she denied that this could be a possibility. And now? $175 for a mold inspection, and another $200-$300 for a repair. Here's an idea: be a decent, forthright business that doesn't screw people over to make a buck, because in the end your reputation matters. Or at least it should. read more

I'll start with the okay: Employees Frank and Lori were polite, and made the process of me getting a refund smooth. I ordered a refrigerator from Cocca's and three months later, it still had not arrived. One employee gave me the run-around, like, "Sorry we just don't know where it is." So I called and asked for updates from the manager, and eventually asked for a refund. Finally, my family went to Lowe's and bought a refrigerator from there... it was delivered Three Days Later! Buyers be careful. I got a beautiful Thor oven from Cocca's as a birthday gift and one of the burners has not worked correctly since we got the oven. Something so expensive should not have to be adjusted every time you want to cook. We also received a different model than what we had selected in the store. The overall situation has been extremely annoying. After having it serviced several times for it to only work properly for a day or two I realize we have received a lemon and really feel taken advantage of. Sure, they will come and fix your issue - but you can enter a never ending cycle of back and forth with them with out a true resolution. Yes you read that right, number 4! a lot of money for poor customer service and quality. Frank the owner has offered no apology or compensation for my inconvenience/missed time from work. He is condescending and rude. No one from Cocca's or frigidaire follow up to communicate status despite many phone calls. Frank pretends he has no idea who we are every time we call than pawns us off to Laurie who offers excuse after excuse after excuse. This last time we told them we did not want the same refrigerator and were promised a different refrigerator. Today after months of excuses they delivered the same refrigerator. We noticed our fridge was not staying cold. we went to a few box stores and ended up at Coccas appliance. Frank the owner and Ryan the sales rep showed us options. Frank then said check other stores as well. We did and came back to see how long it would take to get a new refrigerator. Ryan said about 5 days. we said good but our fridge is failing. Frank heard the conversation and said we will give you a loaner fridge till yours comes in free of charge. Next day the loaner came in as promised.4 days later our new fridge arrived and was delivered. I really like shopping at stores that are privately owned and/or local businesses. Cocca's was recommended to me by a friend that had purchased several appliances there previously and always had good experiences. I have always had good experiences with them. It's still a gritty somewhat sales-y environment, but they have a good selection, friendly/knowledgable staff and great customer service. The prices are on par (and often competitive) with the big box stores. Example - my brand new dryer was not working properly after the propane company came to install it. Turns out there was a manufacturing issue. Cocca's put me in touch with the warranty repair folks and they sent someone out immediately to figure out (and ultimately fix) the problem. I just went back there recently to purchase a new stove/oven and microwave/confection oven. I'll go back to them in the future if/when I need more appliances. read more

Four weeks in succession I called or visited the store asking about the refund. "The girls" were always the reason the refund was not processed. Today, Sept. 12, 2022 I visited the store. When my refrigerator died in January 2022, my husband and I opted to support a local business to buy a new one. Granted, we were in the middle of Covid, social distancing, show room closed, supply chain issues, etc., but we were pretty much forced to buy blind based solely on the dimensions I needed. Fair enough. Three year parts and labor and free delivery sounded good. It took a few weeks for the refrigerator to come in so we stocked a cooler with ice to store our food. Supply chain after all. The guys who delivered and installed were great. Very professional and they hooked the ice maker up to my water supply and made sure everything looked good. A year and a half later and the hose to the ice maker sprang a leak. Due to the heat and moisture we discovered a mold/mildew issue. We cleaned it up and had a mold inspection. While moving the refrigerator to double check everything was clean, the ground prong broke off. When we contacted Cocca's they were very defensive. We were told according to paperwork we were responsible for attaching the ice maker water line so "that is on you." I explained that, no, the installers did it. There was complete bafflement as to why that happened and it must be our fault. Fine. We got a junk product. Then the next helpful tip was to purchase a new grounding matrix cord and install it myself. After calling the supply place they recommended who did not know what part to order and watching a YouTube video on the "very simple" process of changing a power cord on a major appliance I opted to call another appliance repair company. Kayla said and, and believe her, that she could not do it because of the time of year, implying that my situation did not require any kind of priority in that it wasn't an emergency(unless you needed clean clothes and was not fortunate enough to have a weeks supply on hand). We purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator less than 3 years ago. Last Monday, we noticed it wasn't cooling. We called for service since it's less than 3 years old and still covered under their "3 year extended warranty" and were told it would be a week until they could come. I explained I have family staying with me and the holiday weekend coming up, and they responded "sorry, we're very busy." I ended up losing all my refrigerator items, all the meat purchased for the holiday, and most everything that I couldn't fit in my cooler. Coccas's service is supposedly coming tomorrow between 3 and 6, a whole week later. Unacceptable customer service!! By the way, their service company has an "F" rating on the Albany Better Business Bureau. My warning to others is, do not be persuaded by the 3 year warranty. So disappointed in Cocca's Appliances and their service contractor "The Appliance Man". What a crock!! Cocca's claim that you get a 3 year service and parts plan with appliance purchases. We bought 5 appliances from them last January. Two different service guys and 2 months later, the built in microwave still doesn't work .Over $100 for a guy to show up. We were told the fuse was at fault. It was backordered for 6 weeks!!! New fuse was installed today, did not work. Service guy began banging on the unit and slamming the door until it worked for a few seconds then quit. He suggested that we bang the door closed until the light comes on inside the oven and it would be okay to use it!! (what?) He fooled around with a few other things and said he would have to come back next week. This is not the only problem we have had with them , but it is the most annoying!! Frank the owner was very accommodating to take two orders that included 5 appliances and more than $4000 but at the first sign of a difficulty with a delivery, the only reaction I received was shouting over the phone. There was no opportunity to discuss the issue reasonably and I had to hang up because the only conversation that Frank permiteed was his shouting at me. I do not recommend doing business with someone who does not extend customer service or even an attempt to discuss customer satisfaction after the sale. Incredible! I will never shop for an appliance anywhere else. I bought a washer from Cocca's 2 years ago and had problems that were completely taken care of for free because of their 3 year warranty. We dealt directly with Frank Cocca and we couldn't be happier. You don't get this kind of service at a chain store partly because you will rarely speak to the owner. The added 3 year warranty alone would get my attention but add to that the great customer service and friendly staff and I'm a customer for life. I highly recommend Cocca's Appliance! read more
