The service was absolutely unacceptable. We ordered one small order and it took them about 30 min to get it to us. I finally went in to get it. We called 3 times And it is not like this happened once nope, four times. I am not a karen but my patience is very low. Never go here. read more

Covid review: I had to get an essential part for a household job that wouldn't wait so headed out today after first checking online to make sure the parts were in stock, figuring out which aisle and bay they were in, and mapping a quick escape route to the self-service checkout. The first thing that greeted me was a store employee wrangling carts at the entrance -- with his mask pulled down all the way. He was positioned in a way that made it impossible to enter without going within a few feet of him. I waited for a bit, finally said "excuse me, I want to come in" and he said "go ahead!" without moving an inch, still fiddling with the carts. I waited for him to turn his back to me and ran the gauntlet to get in. Next note, the store has become *filthy*. I was in the back part of the store and almost all the stock there was covered with dust -- not a fine layer, but the level that obscured the tops of the packages. So my question is: when did they do a deep cleaning? Answer: apparently never. I won't comment on the customers because they're out of the store's purview to a degree, but let's just say none of the home improvement stores seem to have what I'd call a completely pandemic-compliant clientele. So on my way out, I maneuvered my way to the self-service, waited at the periphery until one of the terminals opened up with nobody adjacent to it, and started to ring my stuff up...when a store employee swooped in within a few feet of me with some kind of offer about how I could get 50% off my items and it would be like buy one get one free. I may have been unnecessarily gruff in telling her to back off, but you know, WTAF -- are they not trained? Or maybe they could not solicit customers at the self-service checkout for a bit, you know, while we're all supposed to stay distanced? Masks are not fool proof. Social distancing isn't enough all by itself. But the two of them together are better than just one, by a lot, and I'm gobsmacked at this point, when cases are at an absolute all time high locally that the store hasn't figured out a better training regimen. I've made five trips to Lowe's and Home Depot since the pandemic began and they have all been pretty bad, and this one wasn't even the worst, so maybe I'll give them a mulligan? NO WAY. DO BETTER. I'll continue to order anything I can from Amazon or other etailers when I can because the big box retailers just aren't doing well at this thing. read more

Items were missing upon delivery. Asked for them to be delivered that day because they were in stock and I ordered weeks ago. Was told only option was to have wife and baby pick up 320 pounds of concrete (I'm at work) or as they kept repeating I can "just" cancel the order. Customer service online is AI. Our robot overlords cant help here. Store called me (instructions were to not call again I'm at work) but they refused to call my spouse back even after she called. Very snarky about the order, that could just be cancelled and not delivered that day as scheduled and paid for weeks ago. They were gracious enough to offer to load the concrete in my wife's car while she held the baby, or you guessed it "I could cancel the order". The only thing getting cancelled is my shopping at this store which is literally a mile from a Lowes which has wonderful customer service and excellent delivery. Do yourself a favor spend a few extra dollars and spare yourself the condescending and awful customer service of this store and drive over to Lowes. No service is provided for the appliances purchased from this store and the extended five-year warranty is a waste of money. I purchased a new refrigerator that broke under warranty after a few weeks of use. There was water on my hardwood floors, and all the food was spoiled. The manufacturers sent someone to fix it, but wrong parts we ordered to fix the new refrigerator. I don't know new stuff need to be fixed, but I am stupid since over 1,000 dollars were invested and no one will pay for the spoiled food of replacement of the floor. No worries they just sent a text and new parts have been ordered. Since it is wintertime and we have snow outside I can just keep my food in the backyard. I am sure the squires want to eat my food since they just consumed the electric cord and spark plugs off my snow blower. No problem, I can always go back to Home Depot and get another defective refrigerator or a board to deal with the squires. read more

I've recently came upon a issue with this Home Depot as of Friday January, 16, 2026 I was there walking around just looking and taking my time looking and thinking about what exactly I want to purchase and as a human being and a person u would like to feel safe and comfortable wherever u are at all times whether you're shopping or out else where safety is number 1 at all times but my main issue with this Home Depot is that while I was there I been going quite often as of every after noon and it may seem stupid as of why do I go every afternoon because I love my job so much that at times my personal life is complicated and while I was there shopping around in this Home Depot I felt very uncomfortable and I'm a person that's always cautious about my surroundings and there was a female about 5,7 5,8 about my height that I kept seeing everytime I go there and I always wonder why is this person keep popping up every aisle I go through and that got me started thinking that she's following me every direction of the store and I felt very uncomfortable and when I say this is my first time doing something stupid which was I took a Milwaukee electrical pliers and I put it in my back pocket to see where that person intentions gonna go so I then walk around with the item that I put in my back pocket I then pick up some 1000volts electrical pliers kit and I go to cash it out to pay now tell me how stupid can some people be at times as per this woman who was following me around in the store making me very uncomfortable so now I go up to the cashier and pull out my Home Depot card paying for my item and with the pliers still in my back pocket I can pay for it but as I was walking out to leave she came up to me saying that she's been following me for a hot minute which means she's putting herself into my personal space making me uncomfortable while shopping and I truly get that people have their job to do but not as making someone uncomfortable so now she continues to talk telling me that I gotta go do some paper work so sure I kindly and respectfully follow their rules but if I was a thief I would've choose to run away with the item but no I respectfully do as I was told because I've never raise that way to walk into a store and decide to steal never and I never will do that because that shows of how much low of person u have to be in life in order to stoop that low to steal never me so now I've been banned from Home Depot for feeling uncomfortable and that I was being followed and I'm a full time contractor which all contractors need equipment and materials to do their work every day so now I can't even go to none Home Depot anymore which I hope the manager of this Home Depot sees this and responds back to me in a better way of helping because if I was a thief I wouldn't take time out of my day to sit here and write all this comment about such a large place of home improvement store and that also shows u how a person like that woman can look at u and judge u just because u look suspicious walking around in their store often that's what this world has become and as a customer u would always like to feel safe and comfortable shopping and going about your business at all times not having to look over your shoulder read more

Almost a perfect Home Depot. Except unswept and egregiously dirty. If I have to wear a Covid mask to mask the dust and garbage stench, chances are I will not come back. The staff in the kitchen section was very friendly and took a few minutes to chat me up and tell me different ways to solve a home-related shelving idea. The guy in this section told me what he used to do for a living in Manhattan and that gave me some color and flavor as to his expertise and general knowledge of the questions I was asking. Really great staff! Items are marked and well-stocked. Isles were easy to navigate compared to some other small homeware shops. Unfortunately, like I said: There was sawdust all over the place, candy wrappers, water bottles, trash, nails, used Kleenex, papers, flyers and none of the carts were clean, unsticky or NOT grimy or rusted. I am definitely a Lowe's fan but they failed me when I came in this past Monday to get an extra key for my truck. Went down the road to the Home Depot and I had a nice conversation with the employee as he made my key in a timely manner for my 1985 Ford Ranger. Was hesitant of if it would function as it should because one of the house keys I got from Lowe's were cut wrong. Luckily I got back and it started up my truck as it should. For five bucks I'll happily come back and make copies for house keys and what not. read more

I went to get rocksalt xmas eve day the staff stated the rocksalt was in isle 1 near the door i proceeded with a empty cart to isle 1 where there where 4 people behind the counter when I went to push the empty cart near the rocksalt the wheels locked up !! so i proceeded to go grab the bags & carry them to the cart well all 4 employees watched . at least i got them in the cart i was like great i went to push the cart & the wheels where still locked . I said to one of the guys can you unlock the wheels ? he says no you have to go to customer service . The lack of of being observent etc.. , helpful even to watch a 60 year old pick up those bags . As of October 5th 2023 there are 4 self-checkout registers and only 2 available, I don't know why they call "self checkout" if there are 2 really slow lady's scanning everything for u and sometimes they make a mistake and scan products twice (better watch the screen) without counting that all the lines were long and only 4 open in the whole store.. We bought a refrigerator last week. It was a pretty good deal and we really liked our sales person, Deniese. That's where it ends. For delivery, we were supposed to get a call the night before to give us the window of time the item would be delivered. No call. The next morning I called at 8am to get the time. It turns out they had already been to our house and couldn't deliver because of snow on our driveway. We had a fairly large snow storm that gave us 5 inches on snow overnight. If we had known they were coming that early we would have had the driveway cleared. I called to find out when it could be delivered and it will not be coming for another 3 days. Our fridge died so we will be without one for a week total. Our new delivery time will be scheduled for 3 days from now so my husband and I will need to take another day off this week and it can't be officially scheduled until I call them this afternoon to make it official. It's typical of people being treated badly because large corporations could care less about their consumers. Once they have your money they don't really care about you. read more

We purchased a floodlight from the Home Depot this day online and we were out and about and we decided that before we ran home we would stop at the Home Depot and see if it was ready or almost ready so that we didn't have to run all the way home and then come all the way back out again. We stopped at the service desk and asked the service counter if they had the order which was a young woman and she looked into the system and asked when we would place the order and we said it really wasn't that long ago and we wanted to just check to see if the status of the order could be checked just to make sure that somebody wasn't out on the floor picking it up so that we could go home with one shot. She proceeded to tell us that it takes two hours for the order to be picked and she did not go back and look at the order and see where it was in the process or if anybody had it she did not take anything as far as that information she kind of just said we will let you know goodbye. We ended up leaving and it takes us about less than 10 minutes to get home I just did not want to have to go back out again it's not like it was a wicked long drive but I didn't want to go back out you know it's one of those things I was there I would have waited if I needed to. I pulled into the driveway and I received a text message stating that my order was ready! Now if she would have taken the time out and just called out and saw if anybody had my order or if she would have looked into the system if they had any type of competent order system they would have saw somebody had my system out or was looking at my order she could have told me just hold tight by somebody's out there with your order they should be up here momentarily it was one thing it wasn't on huge amount of stuff it was one item. Now I must say that the item works well and that's why it got three stars because the item itself is would save them because the customer service frustrated me instead of looking at the item and seeing where it was in the process they chose just to send the customer away and not let anything you done about it. I had already paid for the item they wouldn't even let me go get the item and then bring it back so unfortunately it was not a good moment for me and the Home Depot at that time. My uncle and I went to the front desk to ask for help outside with the lawnmowers and questions that we had. They said someone will be right out to help us and 20 minutes later we are standing there with no help. We had to ask a second time. The repair department is what gave this review a 2 star. This store is the WORST! I ordered a dishwasher NINE days ago which was to be delivered today. No one ever called me to let me know that there was a problem with the delivery truck, and they'd rescheduled the delivery for another EIGHT days from now. We would have sat here all day today waiting if I hadn't called THEM. And nobody I spoke to at the store or on the 800 number gave a damn about it, either. There attitude was just "oh, well, sorry". It was too big for our existing drain pipe. I really hate to post a bad review like this but this is what actually happened. I ordered an entry door in May 2021 from Home Depot. A man came to the house, measured and examined my old door and the entryway, and wrote up the order. A couple weeks later, an installer came to my house. He also measured and examined my old door and entryway. I talked with both of these men about exactly what I wanted. The order went in and initially they said it would come in September 14, 2021. It didn't come in then and a new date was scheduled for about a week later. It did not come in then either. Come to find out the door was not even finished being built yet. The next date they gave me was sometime in the middle of November. It came in in November, however, the entry door opens directly into the house and by the time the door had come in, it was much too cold out to install the door. I had to wait out the winter and they gave an installation date of April 5, 2022. On April 5, they arrived with my door to install it. The installer asked me to check the door to make sure it was right. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at the door and saw that the door knob was on the opposite side of the door than it should be, and the door was swinging in the wrong way. After waiting almost a year for this door, it turned out to be completely wrong and it could not be installed. Remember, two different Home Depot employees had come to measure and looked right at the old door and still it was ordered wrong. Of course, a new order had to be put in for a replacement door. It was scheduled to come in to be installed on June 28, 2022. Miraculously, it came in the day before on June 27. The installation went very well and the installers did a good job. Later on the man that handles installations came by to check it. I have no fault with him because none of the mistakes were his fault and he tried to help me as much as he could but mainly all he could do was relay to me what was going on over the phone as I waited. I also appreciated him moving the times around for me to make the installation more convenient for me. However, you can understand how I would be hesitant to use Home Depot again for any installations. read more

Not too enthralled with my latest visit. An employee I asked for assistance radioed for someone to "dial" his extension but I never received help after he proceeded to exit the area after the radio call. Instead, I relied on the advice of another customer who wandered along a few minutes later, he really seemed to know his stuff, and I took his sound advice. First time I've been let down by this location. I know shift changes occur between 3-5 pm but there should be more consumer alertness around shift changes instead of the only "open" register clustered with mingling employees inattentive to approaching customers. So this visit turned into a self-assist and checkout all around. I'm very disappointed as this was a vital visit. I had a sink pipe issue I could not solve without guidance. read more

Arranged for curbside pickup due to staying with somebody who is immunocompromised. Took 26 hours for it to be ready. No biggie. But when they started that the order was ready to be picked up, I went, parked in one of the designated spots, and filed out the webform, which stated that they'd be out shortly. Midmorning on a weekday, store wasn't that busy. After an hour of waiting, cancelled the order and went inside to just get the items from the aisles. Multiple employees had their masks around their necks. Many shoppers had no masks on. Curbside pickup is thus necessary but not functioning. Would not shop there again during the pandemic. read more

I want to give a shout out and thanks for the great customer service I received from Wayne in the appliance department at the Home Depot on Cambridge in Schenectady New York. I went in looking for a new washer and dryer after mine broke down after 25 years of use. I went in twice both times Wayne was there and waited on me. He was kind patient and helpful. He also answered all my questions about 2 different products that I was interested in. After the second visit I bought the whirlpool model of washer and dryer... Wayne made this easy and painless. He was very thorough and let me know what needed to be done to prepare for the delivery. The washer and dryer were delivered on the day that that they were supposed to be and in the time frame allotted. So far so good... Everything is working and I am a very happy customer. read more

Needed to purchase some more of the same large storage bins I had bought before. Went to the shelving aisle and they wearn't there. I then asked an associate who looked them up only to find them labeled as 'home unknown' in the system. Luckily a few of the associates helped me by walking up and down the store until they found them at an endcap. Sharon and Seline were awesome and they really helped me out. However, I took one star away because the inventory system is crap and the associates shouldn't have needed to spend 20 mintues finding the bins if they were had a correct home in the inventory system. read more

They have had terrible customer service every time I have gone, either I can't find someone to help or the person just points me in a general direction which can be confusing in such a big store. I ordered a vinyl hose for a portable air conditioner and even brought in the parts to show them how big the hose was. There was only one person at the customer service desk during the day on a Saturday so it took forever for me to get help. The girl took a while to find the hose I needed, after she measured the piece to figure out what side it was. She told me I could get rings to make sure they fit onto the piece. When I finally went to set up my unit with the new hose my boyfriend and I discovered that the opening to put the hoses was 5 inches, not 4 inches like the girl had measured. I don't know how she could miss a whole inch especially since it was something that had to be special ordered. As someone who has worked in retail, you should always double check something first before placing a special order. Returning this and the clamps she had me buy and I'm taking my business elsewhere! read more

I went to buy a new hot water heater. I was able to find the one I needed but when asking for help, the associates seem to go out of their way to look the other direction. I ended up going back 3 times that night because no one could show me what I needed to connect it. I ended up calling the plumber the next day for $300 since it was an urgent visit. I been o a lot of Home Depot stores from New York City to Albany and this store is by far very a mixed is customer services, the front end staffs are more helpful, available and will to help customers with any issues. Where are the staffs in the departments, is like playing a game of hide and seek. Their goal seem to be hide from the customer and of you are found, give the customer some quick and leave. I went in for 3 color code wire for a small project and ask the electrical associate for 3 wires from the wire machine at 25 feet. Saving me time in completing my project, instead I was taken to the wires on the shelf in rolls and he left me. Not only did the wires on the shelf cost more the what I would have pay if I got them from the machine, but I have to unroll all the wires from all three rolls and re run them together. Adding more time to my project. If I was to get it from the machine, all three wires would have be wined together and that would have saved time on my project and less waste for me. read more

Purchased all new kitchen appliances, new ge refrigerator, oven, dish washer and microwave. Appliances delivered damaged except stove. Refrigerator scratched, dishwasher scratched and the microwave doesn't even work! It won't shut off. Spoke to the manager dean who lied right through his teeth telling me it would all be fixed today. New fridge door, new microwave and a new dishwasher. Well here we are today supposed to only get a new microwave.. Dish washer maybe next week? Maybe the door too? Some other company is calling telling me they want to pick up the dish washer without bringing me a new one?? Called dean four times yesterday left messages.. No returned calls and he was there until 7. Spoke with store manager Brett was supposed to call me back this morning.. No calls. What a place to go spend over 3000 dollars and get absolutely 0 customer service. They act like k am the hassle. Who is going to pay for all the days of work I have to miss to be there during a '4 hour window' for deliver. Absolute crap. I don't know how a place like this stays in business. I had to purchase a bucket of vinyl concrete repair, which I had difficulty finding in the Schenectady Home Depot. I normally shop at the Halfmoon Home Depot which has a completely different layout, so I asked for assistance locating the item. The first employee I asked sent me outside where there were only bags of concrete, the second employee sent me over to where the sheetrock supplies were, even after I told her that I had already looked over there. I then asked a customer if he knew where the cement/concrete was located, but he had no idea so I went over to the customer service area and asked Coree for help. She pleasantly told me where the item was located and even offered to bring me directly to the location. Coree provided exceptional customer service and I am very grateful for her assistance. Had I not received her assistance I would have ended up leaving the store and purchasing the item elsewhere. read more
