dude this place like totally sucked because they tried to trick me the sales out front for the little trees by saying it was on sale when wasn't which was like totally really like annoying. Then I asked the manager and he was like a total jerk. He was really annoying. I'm like so totally not coming back here and annoyed. This place is lame.

Lowe's Home Improvement store has just about everything that one would need for a job that they are doing at home or on the job. I came here because I'm looking to put in a deck at home or at least sure up the deck that I have currently at my house in the backyard again a floating deck like I put up at my camp it's a lot older but I'm not going into doing a whole lot of work on that. My experience at Lowe's is one that I definitely recommend, for me it's like I'm walking around in a candy store! It is also like I'm walking around in that candy store without any money!! LOL! Because I can't buy everything that I want to buy. So it's kind of along the lines of look but don't touch kind of thing and dream but understand that it is a dream. I got everything that I needed there quite quickly, everything was stocked up and everything was very neat in that store, actually it looked pretty good. The reason why I drop down the star is because it just seems like whenever you need help and needed somebody to talk to or to ask if they can tell you where something is, they were like cockroaches, they Scurry in every direction but towards (You) the person who needs to ask the question. I see people that work there all around but every time I walk towards the person with a seeming look like I have a question, it seems like they go the other direction or they go down another aisle or they turn and walk away. They do something else almost like they don't have enough time to take a couple seconds out of their day to answer a question and that is kind of bothering to me. Now granted they could be off the clock and I just don't know it and they're walking through the aisle getting ready to leave and all the sudden some customer comes walking up to them and says hey can you help me and now because they're wearing a Lowe's uniform they feel obligated to have to help that customer out even though they're off the clock but, it's better to be truthful with that customer and just say I'm sorry I'm off the clock and I'm heading out the door at this point and point them in the direction of somebody else who could help them rather than running to a different direction to avoid them altogether not saying that that's what happened, just saying if that's the scenario. At the end of the day it's a great place to shop for all your home improvement needs, really! I don't recommend their credit card but then again I don't recommend credit cards at all period. But if you would like to have a shopping experience where you find pretty much everything that you would need this would be the place to go for your home improvement needs. Thank you so much for listening.

Registers 9 & 10 open- side by side - too close. Width of space between counters measures 6 feet.

I am a frequent customer at the Niskayuna NY Lowe's location. I am usually reasonably pleased with the products and service there. Unfortunately today I have a concern/ complaint that is COVID related. The last two times I have shopped in the store I have voiced my concern - today at about 5:30pm in order to checkout, customers were required to stand in a single- socially distanced line extending into the Paint Dept while we were funneled to two checkout lines that are RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. The distance between the two registers is just 6 feet. While I check out at one line, another customer is just behind me- too close for comfort. At the registers are flyers indicating the required distances and yet they disregard this. These are register lanes 9 and 10. All that they had to do was skip one register ... About a month ago I expressed my concerns and frustration regarding the same exact situation to a front end supervisor as she was there, while the manager I requested never arrived. Today I requested to talk to the store manager, he did not arrive but I talked to a customer service supervisor. He seemed to respond, but did he really? What about next time? Who decides which cash registers to open? Also, on a different note, several customers were not wearing masks and a few store employees I walked past was wearing his mask (incorrectly) under his nose. This is against state mandated guidelines, both store employees and customers are not being protected. (Customers without masks should be asked to leave and return with their masks on.) Come on people, wear your masks! This a a pandemic... shape up! Please correct store policies to protect your customers and staff.

Their prices might have seemed…read morehigher than the old Ace prices, but everywhere you look in this world things cost more and their prices are in line with the big box stores. Sometimes even lower. That really doesn't matter though, because the helpful service I receive here more than makes up for a few extra pennies. The staff are super friendly and have helped me with lots of projects along the way. I needed a weird part that wasn't available anywhere else and they found it for me in their storeroom and gifted it to me. I needed a certain type of paint on a holiday-eve and they spent the extra time going through their stash to find a suitable product. When the entire northeast region is out of salt and they have a shipment coming in, they were willing to make arrangements so that some was waiting for me when I showed up that evening. And when I need advice (and honestly, it seems to be always) they are a lot more reliable and useful than trying to randomly search Youtube. It is the smaller hardware stores that provide what most do it yourselfers (read: amateurs) really need: attention. Because of that, I will keep coming back to here.

I normally would not be in a hurry to write about a hardware store that is not near my house. How often would I likely be to visit it again? But this store caught my attention when I saw an ad for them on TV. They claimed that they have items not found in other stores. They also emphasized that they offer friendly and readily available service. Today, in search of a particular style cabinet knob, after nothing met my wife's satisfaction in Lowe's, Home Depot, and several other stores, we tried Chance's on our way through Latham. The first thing we noticed was a friendly greeting from an employee helping another customer in the parking lot. Walking through the store we saw everything very well organized and nicely displayed in a clean environment. Once we found what we were in search of, we met that same welcoming employee (owner?) from the parking lot on our way to the register. He was truly friendly and made the shopping experience a pleasure. The item we purchased could have been ordered for less from Lowe's, but it was not available today and we've never received such a sincere welcome in any big-box store. There is definitely truth in advertising from Chance's Hardware store.

Allerdice strikes the perfect balance--big enough to have just about everything you need, from power tools and paint, to grills, bird feeders, and even gifts, but small enough to feel welcoming. The well-organized layout makes it easy to find what you're looking for, and if you need a hand, the familiar, friendly staff is always ready to help. The young people who work in the store are always polite and helpful - and willing to help you heft bags of rocks, soil and cement in the back of your truck. The gift shop is a hidden gem, offering unique finds. I have found wonderful home decor items and gifts there, and the stock is always fresh. Allerdice is a far cry from the big-box warehouse experience. Their personal touch keeps me coming back. One of the things I appreciate is the familiar faces behind the counter and on the floor. The same employees have been helping customers for years, creating a true hometown experience. Their knowledge and friendly service make every visit feel like you're supporting not just a business, but a part of the community.
