Called a few places to price a charging port replacement on an iPhone 12. Most were $150 or more, but these guys said that they would clean my port first and if that didn't fix it then they'd replace it for around $130. The cleaning did the trick. I dropped my phone in Rome NY while visiting Fort STanwix and wanted the glass repaired ASAP. I was told to take it to i fixit in Oneida. I made it very clear to the clerk that I lived in Albany, wanted the phone fixed that evening, or I would have to go somewhere else. He charged me in advance, took all my personal information to gain access to my phone, told me to come back in an hour and a half, and when I did, told me he did not have the part, couldn't fix it, but had an awesome deal involving swapping my phone for a replacement that he assured me was much better. I refused, he pushed and said I was missing out on an awesome deal, refunded the money on my credit card, and I left. The next day I discovered that he had not even refunded the money correctly and had to make a 20 minute call to the credit card company to get compensated for the cost of tax that he had apparently planned to keep. BAH! Terrible experience. Next day I went to the i fixit in Colonie Center. No payment in advance, professional service, checked to make sure he had parts in advance, charged about 50$ less than the guy in Oneida had charged, and fixed it smoothly and quickly. It might have been how unique a 5th generation IPad Air's screen is, but it felt a little pricey. Other then that it was a perfectly reasonable repair with no issues. Waited a few days after the repair had been done before posting to make sure nothing popped up and nothing did. Would definitely go there again, but hopefully never have too. read more

Need to re-order part. Pushed them for expedited 'overnight' shipping that took 2 days. Third visit - actual repair took 45 min. Do these guys ever actually get a repair done in 30mins? Took us 3 trips and a total of 4 hours of our time. (Oh, and they charged $75 for the repair and gave us $5 off for our inconvenience. What a joke.) read more

They really really screwed my phone up ! I had my screen replaced on my iPhone. I called them and told them that the sides are pulling away from the phone and that it's been weird ever since this young blonde kid fixed it there. The woman yesterday tried to tell me I sat on it and broke it again. I took it to Apple where they pointed out that they put a hole in the top of the phone to pull the screen off. Don't do it. Wanted to get a screen replacement and home button ended up going bad a day after. Were told to come back if we had any problems but we were asked for more money to fix the home button. The home button was working before. Save your money and go to a better place. read more

They fixed my phone, but for a hefty price. I was quoted $150 to fix the screen for my Samsung galaxy s4. They told me it would be done in an hour. When I showed back up to pay, the price had jumped and they were now charging me $269.99. When I disputed the charge saying I would have never agreed to that price the sales person became defensive and rude and said they were going to call the police if I didn't give them a payment. Beware of the bait and switch. I would never do business with this company again nor recommend it to anyone. read more

Will never go here to have them touch my phone again. They not only lied to me about my phone but took parts out and did a half ass job of fixing it. I only needed 4 things fixed which was my front facing camera, front speaker, home button ate screwed in and lastly my screen put back on my phone since it was hanging off. They lied and told me my screen had to replaced for whatever excuse and charged me $50 for a $5 screen and even then didn't fix the rest of my phone then wanted to charge me another $25 to get the parts to have them finally fix the camera and front speaker. I ended up just saying fuck it and took it to Todd who owns phone wizard and he along with 3 other techs told me the same thing. They stole my iPhone screen and put on a generic $5 so at the end the price I paid all together between buying my phone, having ifixit touch it and now Todd, my total came out to 325. If I knew they did this I would have either went to apple or just went to Todd because people go to to get their phone fixed not for someone to steal their parts, lie about it, and furthermore do a half job of fixing it. Yes my screen is new they only put one screw for my home button that takes three not one and they didn't even leave my apple screen on which was a brand new screen that was all ready there and didn't need to be replaced. I was gonna resell my phone but now I'm not gonna bother because it's now lost its worth with the fake parts and the fact I don't have my original scree. Instead of going cheap like I did just go see apple or even better phone wizard who has your best interest not someone whose gonna steal your parts. Going the cheap way isn't almost smart because I spent more money trying to finally get my iPhone fixed than what it's now worth so save your money and go to Todd or apple. Loved they gave me a discount for "fixing" my phone but ended up going somewhere else just actually fix my phone. Not only was I lied to about my screen they dissected my phone and took out all my apple parts, gave me a fake screen and charged me $50 for it and then wanted another $25 to order a front facing camera part along with a front speaker part. I called up Todd from phone wizard and the work that needed to be done after these guys so called fixed it I ended up kicking out another $70 to clean up the mess that was made. Just like I had told them there was nothing wrong with my screen as long as it was attached it was fine and they replace it with a generic one which I was aware they mentioned replacing it but never knew the reason behind it was a lie. They lie to steal your apple parts and resell them for more and give you China parts and now if I wanted to I can't even resell my phone because it's now worthless and I had them fix it just to lower its value. DO NOT GO TO THEM UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR PARTS STOLEN! Putting one screw in the home plate isn't fixing my phone nor is putting a generic screen on it fixing anything when my screen wasn't the issue, the screen being pushy, front facing camera, home button plate, and front speaker were the issues and I paid them $50 for a screen that's it. The amount of money I not only paid for this phone but kicked out to get fixed I could have bought a brand new one from apple. The harassing emails and texts was unnecessary especially when I declined for parts considering I was ripped off alone with my parts being stolen. The guy I saw and spoke to was nice and well mannered I just didn't like the fact I was lied to and even a tech who saw my phone said everything that was done wasn't needed but I guess you live and learn a hard lesson and if anything don't just go to anyone to fix your phone just because it may sound cheap or it is because most likely you'll leave with a janky phone and also the fact the battery they so called said was fake they stole and replaced it with a crappy one that not only take hrs to charge but never fully charges and drains extremely quick even when I barely use it and on top of that my wifi and internet barely work when both were fine before I had them touch my phone. If something's not broke don't fix it and if something is then fix it not do opposite. I am beyond upset considering I kicked out so much for pretty much my phone to now be worthless and if I want an apple screen it would cost me over a 100 bucks! This place is terrible! I had my iPhone screen replaced here in October and I wish I had just paid the price of the Apple store. The guy who fixed it messed up something internally in the process. A few weeks after the job, display started to go in and out and eventually stopped working altogether. My husband ended up buying a tool kit off of amazon and fixing it himself. When he opened it up, he found that a screw was missing, and 2 of the parts were loose inside. Will never go back here again! read more

I just bought a LG G3 and had dropped it and the screen shattered despite having a protective cover on it. I brought it to Verizon and because I didn't buy the warranty, they wouldn't do anything for me. Across from the Verizon store at Crossgates Mall, is an IFIXHERE. I went over to the store, they quoted me $200 to fix the phone, I had it repaired on Sept. 24, 2015. I picked it up, seemed fine and paid $216.00. I was really happy that they were able to fix my phone. I bought a genuine Otterbox for my phone because it's supposed to be shock proof. I began to notice that some of the areas on the keyboard were not responding to touch. About a week after I had it fixed the area below the screen (where the LG logo is) started to peel. I didn't pay that much attention to it. On Oct. 11, 2015 I noticed that there is a hairline crack in the screen that goes from the logo halfway up the screen on the left side. I did not drop the phone and there is no point of impact on the phone. I brought it back to Crossgates Mall and was told that they will not do anything to help me because it is NOT a factory defect. I showed the man where it was peeling and how there was NO point of impact and he just stared at me. I asked him to honor the work that they did and he said I have to understand where HE is coming from and since there is no defect he cannot fix it. He then told me that it is probably my Otterbox that cracked the screen. If the screen that was installed on my phone is that delicate that an Otterbox will crack it, what is the point of buying something to protect the phone if the screen will crack anyway. I was not looking for a refund, I simply wanted the situation resolved, which it was not. read more

I went to the store with my iPhone 6 to get the headphone jack replaced. The staff was super friendly and very professional. They replaced it for a good price and had my phone ready on time. Do NOT think the "i"something automatically means that the store is an apple authorized repair store. It is NOT. It uses cheap parts with low quality, and they charge the same price as the original. I replaced my cracked screen in this store, paid the same price as I would in an apple store. Within 24 hours, the screen cracked again - I didn't drop it or did anything unusual - the crack just appeared from one edge and extended gradually all the way to the other edge. I went back to the store, but was told that it was a physical damage and they can offer me at most 50% off for another replacement. They asserted that I must have done something wrong to the screen. If I didn't drop it, if nobody else touched it, I must have put something sharp on the screen - Well, I did put my finger, which has to include my nail, on the screen. Or probably I put the phone on my ear which includes my earstud. I guess this says enough about the quality of the screen they use. I called Apple and was confirmed that Ifixhere is NOT an apple authorized repair store. As I do not want to crack another screen within 24 hours, I had to go to the apple store and get my screen replaced there. If you want to repair your device, call the manufacture and ask for contact information of authorized repair stores. Do not waste your time and get ripped off by this store. read more
