I was next door getting my nails done and needed a little caffeine fix on my way out, and this was just the spot. I believe the owner of Slain Studios is also the owner of Crete, and you can tell by the similar interior design. The concrete is sleek and modern, and is something you don't see typically here in Phoenix- it definitely feels like a shop out of LA. There's lots of room to sit, and it looks like a good spot to get some work done. I had been here before and tried the strawberry matcha like a year ago, and I have to say it's not my favorite. I think it was quite milky, and I wasn't able to taste the matcha really, but maybe it was a off day? I have been super into sea salt foam Vietnamese coffee lately, so opting for the Ca Phe Sea Salt was a no brainer, and this was perfect. The foam is sooo good, and is delightfully creamy, without being too heavy. The coffee flavor was strong, and I felt that it was very authentic to a true Vietnamese coffee. I will definitely be back for that! I did try the black sesame banana bread as well, and the butter on it was a great addition, but I don't know if I would order it again (not a huge fan of black sesame personally, and the flavor was pretty strong). The staff member was very nice, and he was able to give me a good recommendation on the size of the coffee, since I didn't want too much caffeine. He also offered to heat up my banana bread, provide the butter to go, and then even walked around the counter to give me my items. I really appreciated the great service, and I'll be back for that coffee for sure!
Second stamp on my coffee passport and this place was such a good find! I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee, so I got excited as soon as I saw it on the menu. The barista also mentioned that the shop is Vietnamese-owned which made me appreciate it even more. My coffee was absolutely delicious and easily one of my favorites I've had recently. The coffee shop itself has a really nice atmosphere- bright natural lighting, lots of plants, and an minimalist vibe that makes it easy to relax and hang out. Staff were super friendly as well. It was a little tricky to find at first, but now that I know where it's located I will definitely be back!
Tried this spot as part of my coffee passport stamped experience. The coffee show has a bare minimalist decor that works well. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte and some of mango sticky pudding pastry that was really delicious. I enjoyed the latte as well . Staff were welcoming and friendly. I would definitely come back.
I enjoyed my visit to this coffee shop. If you like coffee, matcha, and plants , this is the place for you! I ordered the banana matcha. It was my first time getting a fruit flavored matcha and I definitely would order again ! I liked how they put banana slices on top of the drink. They have a POTHOS plant that is so beautiful and the leaves are so long! I wanted to take it home with me! There was plenty of room to sit and enjoy your drinks and food as well as study or work.
We stopped by Crete after seeing it on TikTok. The place is really clean and simple in the best way. My friend and I ordered matcha and our other friend got a hibiscus tea. They both loved their drinks. Mine was good too, but I ordered the banana matcha and it tasted more like a banana foster style syrup, which is totally fine, just not what I am used to. That part is on me, not them, because their matcha quality was good. The staff was great and really fun to talk to. One of the guys told us he was from Dallas and said we were his third Houston customers of the day since there was a University of Houston vs University of Arizona game that week. Houston won, so it was a fun time to be in Arizona lol I am glad we ended up here even though it was not part of the plan. My friends enjoyed their drinks and the service was really nice. I feel like if I ordered a different flavor I would have liked mine even more.
This place has been on my list for a while. A good friend recommended. I'm so glad we finally got to try it. The inside vibe is very clean and industrial. Concrete tables. Cozy couch seating. A nice place to work or do homework and study. It's busy but not too loud, and has good music playing. It is on a busy road, and there's some parking to the left or a parking lot on the right. It is unassuming. My friend did not want to go inside at first when we drove by. I'm so glad we did. The drinks were phenomenal. I tried the taro matcha with coconut milk. It tasted like lucky charm marshmallows. The pumpkin spice chai (with a shot of espresso) was good and had a nice homey spice flavor. The matcha was also good! I will need to try the banana matcha next. They have a nice selection of pastries. They have a strawberry matcha muffin that was catching my eye. We will be back again soon.
It was our first time there considering there was 1 person working so it was slow, but I definitely will come back to try more.
This is a very cool hip spot. Parking is not ideal, I had to go around and park in a neighborhood. There are a few long tables with booth seating along one side and no chairs on the other side and a couch in the corner. You can fit four or five people on one side of each table. The theme is stone and white. The booth cushions are very comfortable but the table is awkwardly far away so I have to lean so far to work on my computer... I ended up putting it on my lap. I went at 10am on a Saturday and it got pretty busy where all the tables got filled up. The music was very loud. I liked the choices but it was so loud that I would have to talk very loudly to be heard in a conversation and it isn't ideal for concentrating. The music got softer by 12/12:30 when it died down. There is no decaf coffee so that's a bummer, only Vietnamese coffee and that's way too strong for me. I did have a very tasty banana matcha with oat milk - it was smooth and had some brown sugar and came with two banana chips! I asked for light ice and indeed had light ice. Cool vibes overall, friendly staff!
This places lives up to the hype! This I've been wanting check this place out for ages as I had heard that their match game was strong. Can confirm-this is true. My friend and I tried their taro matcha tea and strawberry matcha tea and they were to die for! The flavor was out of their world and their baristas really provide special care to making your drinks. The cafe itself has a minimalist aesthetic and is very clean. This is a great place to study! The only thing to be aware of is the limited parking around the area. Catch me here every weekend as I want to try everything on their menu now.
First visited when they celebrated their 2 year anniversary with Carmen's. Honestly their Green Tea Melon Fresca is spectacular. Service is always good here and the their space is very vibey. Industrial-ish but approachable. I've come back several times since to order the exact same thing. Will have to make in for coffee, food or pastries soon
Matcha was good although it wasn't really banana flavored enough, I couldn't taste it, it tasted like regular matcha. Place was empty cuz it was 8am so that was nice.
Authentic matcha sold here!! This place was super cute and had a cool minimalist vibe. The menu was easy to navigate with mainly matcha and coffee options. You order at the counter and then you wait for your drinks. The banana matcha was amazing and I wish I got the bigger size. The only negative was the parking. Expect to park in the neighborhood behind. As a whole I really enjoyed Crete Tea room and I plan on returning!
It was pretty busy when we stopped by and we waited in line for a few minutes to order. The cashier was friendly and greeted us as we approached the register. I ordered an iced banana cream cold brew (small) and my sister ordered a separate drink. We waited a few minutes off to the side as all the tables were taken. Once our drinks were ready, the barista kindly walked around the corner and handed them over to us. The drinks were both really good. I would've liked it to be a bit sweeter but nonetheless, after a few stirs, it was good. The inside was clean and bright and I also saw that they had bathrooms. Parking is off to side at the big lot.

I really loved the ambiance and the whole set up for this cafe! A lot of seating room just to chill and or study! Our barista today was so nice and welcoming she was really kind! We got the banana matcha and the pog which were both good! Would love to come back again to try out more drinks! read more

I've been to this tea room twice so far and have loved it both times. The Hōjicha latte is toasty, warm, and creamy. You must try it! Today I tried a personal pot of tea of freshly steeped Masala Chai. I asked for some condensed milk on the side because who can resist condensed milk- such a treat. My tea was delicious and the atmosphere inside the café was welcoming, intimate and warm. The sleek and minimal aesthetic of the tearoom, with gray textured concrete and natural wood tones, highlighting the several glass jars of looseleaf tea along shelves behind the counter, allow for a muted backdrop to enjoy tea with friends, or work from the café. There is a restroom at the back of the café. The tea menu has impressed me both visits. The ingredients are high-quality. I wasn't overwhelmed by too many options. The prices are very affordable for the quality that we are given. My pot of tea with condensed milk cost less than a typical latte at Starbucks. The service here is always so friendly, and my questions are answered with patience as I always have a lot of tea questions. This tea room is located on the miracle Mile on McDowell and it is right next-door to my nail salon. How convenient is that? I can't wait till they start making and serving lunch items and snacks! read more

Service was incredible they went over all the questions I had! They don't have espresso but they do have Vietnamese drip coffee which was delicious! I ordered the Ca Phe with condensed milk and whole milk! My friends go to order is the pomegranate iced green tea w agave! The ambience is industrial and seating is a bit limited. I don't think I'd study or read here (unless its during off hours/middle of the day) but it is a great place to hang out! It's also right next to my favorite nail salon so that's a huge bonus too! read more
Cool new spot on McDowell, between 19th St and 20th st. The location is definitely random but don't let that deter you. You can park on 19th st. I like the concept since we already have so many coffee shops in town, it's nice to have the option of tea. The aesthetics are very clean and minimalistic which is nice. Service was good. I do believe prices are a little high however it seems that's the trend around the Valley. Everything is more and more expensive these days. I got the hot passion peach tea which was good but definitely something I could make at home. My sister had the wakocha with oat milk, she liked it as well. I think overall this is a nice spot worthy of a visit. Once the weather gets hotter I'll stop by to try their iced matcha. read more
Great place to get a cold drink on a warm day! The menu was very creative with unique flavors and options, making it hard to pick what to order. It was busy and all seats were taken. The staff were kind and got our drinks out quickly, despite a full store. Interior looks very clean, new, and well-kept! I'm excited to go back and try more of what the employee recommended. read more
Never thought I was a big tea guy but the fresh delicious teas at Crete have me thinking I'm more than an Arnold Palmer guy. Friendly people cool vibes and great service make this spot something to go to when you realize coffee is a bit overplayed and tea doesn't belong in the harbor. read more

Finally tried Crete Tea Room and it did not dissapoint! The strawberry matcha was amazing! A little on the sweeter side. The passion fruit tea was brewed nicely and didn't need a lick of sweetner to be good! read more

I love the matchas and the service. The strawberry matcha is my favorite, the freshly made matcha always tastes better. They have recently added some baked goods, haven't had a single one I didn't like. I cannot suggest this place enough! Employees are super nice, they'll help you pick a drink if you can't decide too! read more

I loved the look of this place. Very minimalistic with the concrete architecture. Very spacious as well, although it was really warm inside. Service was quick and friendly, and the drinks themselves were tasty! The one gripe I had was having my drink be a little too sweet when I had asked for little honey, but it wasn't much of an issue. For an aesthetic tea experience, you should check it out! read more

Crete has a minimalist contemporary style of furniture and aesthetic. The parking is very limited, I had to wait a couple minutes for someone to leave because there are only enough parking spots for about 10 cars. The cashier/barista was friendly, they had answers to my question of "what are the most popular/unique drink they serve?". I noticed the Hojicha drink and the barista informed me of what Hojicha is (Roasted Matcha.) I haven't had much Hojicha in Arizona so I decided to try Crete's. The drink is usually unsweetened, so the barista offered me a couple of sweetener options. I went with agave and I don't regret it. The Hojicha definitely has a toasted tastes to it. It's also not very harsh/bold as regular matcha. I definitely would get this again. If they had a cold foam to go on top, that would be the ideal topping for this drink. Overall this place has a calm, creative, and pleasant atmosphere. I will be coming back and trying a seasonal drink! read more

I loveeee this place so cute, very minimalistic, laid back ambiance. Same but usually doesn't get too busy so you can find somewhere to sit. No food yet but I think they may possibly roll something out. I was given a spicy salmon bite to try and it was good. read more

Spot is definitely cute. 8 dollar matcha latte w regular milk to paint the pic (but it was really good). Lots of seating, couldn't find any outlets (but also didn't look super hard). Music a little loud. 10/10 aesthetics though read more

from out of state and decided to go to this tea room we found via Instagram. location felt sketchy and parking was difficult but once we got into the tea room we were not disappointed. vibe was amazing and the tea was even better, also workers were friendly! i definitely recommend coming here :) read more

The vibes are immaculate and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I got the Ca Phe with condensed milk and a splash of Oat (which they don't charge extra for !) and it I was pleasantly surprised by the delicate flavors. It's not overpowering like some Vietnamese coffee can be. I definitely recommend checking it out. read more
