Paperwork of a fine job well done.
    Chris H.

This was my first time using professional moving services in Chicago and it was a bit.. overwhelming at first. You kinda feel like the prettiest girl or guy at the dance and you have all these people ( companies) fighting for your attention. I looked on Google, Yelp and etc to find the right moving company for me. Crescent Movers was the first organization to contact me and gave me an exceptional quote right away. Alex, was really nice and honest with the quote and setting me up with the appointment. Now today.. Moving day, I'm so excited to move to the area of Ravenswood, Chicago area. Helping me get adjusted with the move and starting the day off right, I had Luis ( an exceptional and friendly leader contact me at 9:15 am about being en route to my old location. Luis and his incredible team of Alex and Jay were friendly and extremely professional and got right to work. Luis, Jay and Alex moved like it was a fire drill and they moved everything out of my old place in 45 mins and were gone-- driving to my new place to help me setup my new apartment. I cannot thank Luis, Alex and Jay for the quick work they made of moving my stuff into my apartment. I believe that Crescent Movers has a great team, especially with Luis, Jay and Alex in their organization. If moving this easy, especially with Crescent Movers and those guys, I'll always look forward to making moves with this team. I hope my review sheds some light on how awesome these guys are.

"We want to make it right" is what they told me... If I can give zero stars, I would. I've used Crescent before and had no problem. That's why I went back to them, I even had some of the same guys to help with this move. This time things were different. They damaged a number of my beds, walls and floors when they moved things into my new house. Pictures below show some of the damage. They sent a representative out to my house to survey the damage. They best they offered up was $300 back. The alleged totally bill was over $2,000. To refinish a floor, $300 doesn't even cover the labor to fix a hardwood floor. It took them over a week to finally and officially offer up the $300. That's after a $200 check was offered 4 days after the move. The damage was well over $3,000 all said and done. I had a professional look at my floor and to fix the floor and have to redo the entire section. Let alone the beds that were destroyed, walls damaged for just plain carelessness. I had asked for my money back from the move. I still tipped each mover 20%. I thought that was fair. I get things get damaged, but this was excessive. I wanted to stick with a local, Chicago company. I would NEVER recommend using this company. They don't care. "Brian" (the owner or boss) is a crook who only wants money. Not one time did Brian extend a professional courtesy and call me directly, I was dealing with Joey. Nice enough guy, he's the one who came to my house and said the damage was accessible and that they "would make it right." Wake up call Crescent, this is far from "make it right." Full disclosure, I didn't take their $300. It's the principle in making things right.

How does a pot even get this damaged?!?

Not the company they used to be. I've used Crescent movers several times over the last ten years and I honestly can't believe how poorly my last move went....even worse is that they refuse to pay for my damaged items. My mattress was ruined, all my pots and pans are smashed - how does that even happen?!? All my glasses are shattered. All of my lamps were damaged. All my wooden furniture is scratched. The worst part is that I was offered $100 to make up for the mistakes of the movers. I had paid more than that to have them pack my stuff. After WEEKS they told me $400 was the best they could do. There's over $2000 worth of damaged items. The staff said insurance pays $.30/pound but this wasn't an issue due to the truck crashing or something like that. It was poor care. Oh also, my mover told me I didn't tip him enough. I gave the 2 of them them $400 in tips.

    Moving day!

I moved from a storage facility to a 1-BR apartment up three flights of stairs. Tony and Santiago showed up early and moved everything in 3 hours. Both were courteous and professional. They took great care with my furniture and boxes so as to prevent scratches/damages - wrapped and taped everything. This is one of the cheapest estimates I received around this area and there are no hidden fees - EXCEPT you have to pay for every roll of tape they go through, which is $3 or so. If you can request Tony and Santiago, I would highly recommend them!

Would give 10 stars if I could. These guys are amazing and so quick. We moved from one 3rd floor walk up apartment to another 3rd floor walk up apartment. They did the move in 3 hours. It was such a hot day. The price was extremely reasonable. Were very friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough about how great they were. I would recommend to everyone.

WOMEN: PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING -- SAFETY CONCERN…read more I am not a former customer of this company -- I am a resident who encountered one of their crews blocking my building's parking access. What happened next is why I'm warning other women in particular before you consider hiring them. On July 8, 2026, a Move For You crew parked their truck in a way that fully blocked vehicle access for two buildings, with zero advance notice to residents. When I politely asked a crew member to move it so I could get into my own lot, one employee -- a young man in a white shirt -- became visibly hostile. After finally moving the truck only enough to leave a narrow gap, he walked directly up to my moving vehicle as I drove through it, closing the space further, and aggressively pumped his chest and head toward my car -- the unmistakable body language of a man trying to intimidate a woman into backing down, or worse. I was driving home from a doctor's appointment with an elderly neighbor in the car, who witnessed this entire exchange. This was not a miscommunication. This was an adult man, employed by this company, choosing to physically intimidate a woman alone in her own parking lot because he was asked to move his own truck. I have photos of him and the vehicle, and I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau, and Chicago Police. If this is how their employees behave when mildly inconvenienced, think carefully before letting them into your home, your building, or anywhere near your family. Women in particular should know exactly what they may be dealing with before booking this company.

All the communication is rapid, clear, and convenient. Price: on par with other professional moving companies in the area. Move experience: Seamless. The movers called to say they'd be a few minutes late because of truck issues, but they more than made up for that time by working quickly. They sent 5-6 people to help with our huge move (finally, a company that understands how to staff large moves!), were prepared to handle some very heavy and oddly shaped items, and were extremely proactive and patient with helping me figure out where to put some furniture in smaller spaces in my new house. Vibes: The movers treated our items with care, treated our home with respect, and were still incredibly fast with making the move. I mainly communicated with the manager of the crew, who knew his stuff, was professional, and was patient with my questions and concerns. Overall: great experience (as great as the misery of moving can be, and I've already hired them for a second time for another move!

Full version: It has been almost a year since I moved with H2H and they extorted $1,600 extra out of me - and now they are back, using their law firm Mayerbock, to try to extort more money. - The rate we negotiated was $4,300 (attached). - When they picked up my things they said it would be $4,824 - fine, maybe I had more things - After an entire insane fiasco (see my other post) where their movers didn't show up to deliver in San Francisco, they sent my things to LOS ANGELES made me pay another $1,600 to have my things rescued and back to the original place of delivery (breach of contract) - At this point I owed under $600 which I was ready to pay whenever movers actually showed up and they were sending numerous voicemails and texts and emails insisting I can only pay cash or Zelle - The day of the move was also a nightmare with H2H on the phone, but the subcontractor was nice and polite (I even tipped them). CFM provided full packing services on a Wednesday, and on Thursday they loaded everything onto two trucks, drove to my new home, then unloaded and set everything up (in one day!). It was a complex move. We were coming from a very full townhouse - lots of breakables, a couple pieces of furniture that required significant disassembly, a piano that had to go around a tight corner and down a flight of stairs. Everything was packed and loaded with extreme care. When we arrived at the new house, the team went to great lengths to place everything just where we wanted it, assembling all items and cleaning up nicely. Through it all, every member of the team showed a very high level of professionalism, compassion, kindness, and respect, both for my belongings and for my family members. Working with owner Richard before and during the move was also excellent. He walked me carefully through my moving options, and provided detailed quotes based on a couple different scenarios I'd asked him about. The price he quoted was in line with quotes I received from other local movers, but I went with CFM specifically because of the confidence I got speaking directly with Richard. When moving day arrived, there were no surprises: everyone was on time, the team was the size I expected, and the price was exactly what I was quoted. There was even a flub-up on my end, where I accidentally overpaid by a few hundred dollars, and Richard nearly immediately refunded the balance after the move was complete. A long-distance move with a house full of stuff is one of the most stressful experiences of a person's life. There's nothing more valuable than having a moving company that provides door-to-door service, with professionalism and transparency. Collins Family Movers went above and beyond for me in all these respects.
