We had breakfast here this morning and being Danish I was excited to see they had ebelskivers on the menu. They were nothing like ebelskivers. These were more like greasy old fashioned donuts with a very dense, doughy center that were fried in old oil. I could barely eat one. The sausage patties that came with it were dry, hard hockey pucks. I was sawing for days to cut it. The coffee was very weak. My husband's garden omelette with home fries were good though. We sat on a corner table for a long time before being served. It was Mother's day for me. The waitress asked us if we wanted salsa and she brought us 2 bottles of hot chili sauce??? On the menu I had seen a picture of fresh salsa. Right after that we saw another table being served fresh salsa. So I have a question, why weren't we served fresh salsa after she asked us do you want salsa???? That was one thing I really wanted with my meal. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The outside has a nice garden. Our waiter and the staff was very nice and friendly. We received our food quick and hot. My wife enjoyed her egg sandwich. My Denver omelette was good. It just had too much tomato. Next time I'll ask for light tomato. Some of the country potatoes were overcooked and hard. We stumbled across this little gem while shopping in downtown Cambria. It was a cold, foggy day. Walking in we were greeted with a warm restaurant, friendly staff, and fun holiday music playing. I had the French dip and fries. The sandwich was excellent. It was served HOT, with warm au jous and hot French fries. My honey had a 1/2 Mexican pizza. She said it was also excellent. She loved it. We spend a lot of time in Cambria, but in the future I won't include the Creekside Cafe. On a recent morning I ordered a short stack of pancakes and when they arrived they were tough, overcooked and smelled and tasted burnt. When I pointed this out to our waitress, she remarked that they didn't look burnt. She then turned and walked away, leaving the uneaten (except for one bite) pancakes on the table. No offer to provide unburnt pancakes, no apology and when we received the check she had charged me for the meal. I paid and left a minimal tip (at my sweet wife's insistence), but it was the singular poor dining experience that I've had in Cambria. read more

The bacon literally had no flavor and same with the gravy and biscuits. There is nothing worse than paying $16 for something you could have made yourself but yours would taste better. This spot is a little difficult to find but recommended by a local. It wasn't busy when we arrived at 9am on a Sunday. When leaving it did pick up. They have a great variety of breakfast options. You can sit indoor or on their patio which is well heated with standing heaters or above head heaters. We had the Alaska Benedict and seafood omelet. Creekside Garden Cafe is a nice little restaurant with charming outdoor seating. The patio is dog friendly which is a big bonus for us, as we never travel without our furry companion. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Your coffee cup will never be empty. I cannot speak for their food outside of breakfast options. However, if you enjoy a sweet breakfast over a savory one, the apricot French toast is a 10 out of 10. It's SO good, it should be illegal. Get it! As far as savory options go, I have to admit the food lacks a bit of seasoning. It's not bad food -- just a little on the bland side. Easy to fix with the salt and pepper on the table. In my opinion, it's better to be under seasoned than over seasoned anyway. To me, the overall experiences that I've had at Creekside over rules the fact that the country potatoes needed a little salt. read more

This is my favorite breakfast spot in all of Cambria. I visit often because my mom has a home here and I've tried most of the cafes and restaurants. This is one of the best.
