Staying in Morro Bay and wanted to stretch out for breakfast. I have celiac disease so breakfast with the family is difficult. On their website they offered gluten free options so off we went. The tri tip sandwich was great, appreciate that they packed the barbecue sauce and au jus separately. Fries were good too. Other friend ordered the club sandwich and enjoyed it. Found it interesting that the friend who ordered on site had hers packed with utensils and ketchup but the online order did not include or ask about those items. Food was tasty regardless. We popped in to Linn's Restaurant entirely unprepared for how good the food was and delighted by all of the offerings. Service was attentive and very helpful. Our server easily named several of her favorite dishes, and we happily took her recommendations. The beet salad she recommended was excellent, and the olallieberry vinaigrette made such a big difference in the burst of taste. The burgers were also outstanding - we tried both of the ones she suggested. On our way out, we bought three pies, including a mini olallieberry pie, preserves, vinaigrette, and more from the attached shop. What a great idea to have a shop with the restaurant. First time here. Wife was raving and ranting about the place so she took me for a little brunch date. Pros- fun restaurant, right in the middle of town. Good food. Comfortable seating. Great service. Cons- ridiculous crowds, no parking, long wait times, no all day breakfast. Expensive for what you get. Its good, but not 30min+ wait times good. Pro tip, DO NOT GOT ON A WEEKEND. Too many tourists and weirdos in cambria. Pro tip#2 -There is a taco trailer called boni's tacos by the chevron gas station . Thats where i eat when we come up the coast from pismo 9 outta ten times. If you are thinking of going here to lunch, you should absolutely do it! Everything we ordered was so good; the flavor profiles were unique and done so well. We ordered the beef tenderloin tips, signature chicken pot pie, ollalieberry burger, and braised beef stroganoff. We especially enjoyed the beef tenderloin tips and the burger. The burger patty had a mild gamey flavor which I think is due to the cow being grass-fed (correct me if I'm wrong). Staff were also very friendly. The owner himself came out to talk to us. The restaurant is located in a quaint, picturesque town. We enjoyed walking around to see the other shops afterward. The parking lot was small but we were able to find parking. I can't go to Cambria without obsessing over olallieberry everything. I don't know if there is any better place to get your fix than Linn's Restaurant. I was last here 15 years ago and I cannot wait 15 more. I'm going to start with the dessert. I was choosing between the white cake with buttercream frosting filled with olallieberry jam and the cheesecake with olallieberry sauce. It was recommended by the server to get the cheesecake. He was 100% right. The cheesecake was great and the sauce was even better. As an added bonus he gave me a small sliver of the cake to taste and that's how I know it was the right decision to get the cheesecake. Usually I'd get an olallieberry shake but the timing didn't work out right. I had the fried chicken sandwich with slaw on it and a side of the olallieberry slaw. I loved the slaw. I like the sandwich. The rest of our party ordered ribs and felt it was nothing to write home about. The Asian salad was well received. The meat loaf and vegetables looked really good. I first want to say that I absolutely loved the atmosphere and service at Linn's. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and I'm writing this from a place of appreciation because I genuinely wanted to love the food as much as everything else. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. I had heard so many great things about this restaurant, so I left feeling a little disappointed that it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. My husband and I ordered the calamari, Caesar salad, linguini, and wild-caught salmon. The calamari was good, but the oversized plate made the portion look much smaller than it actually was... almost like leftovers. It's a minor detail, but serving it on a smaller plate would make it much more visually appealing. The Caesar salad was decent, although I wasn't expecting the tortilla chips. It was a unique touch, but I personally think the salad would benefit from sticking closer to a more traditional Caesar recipe. For our entrées, the linguini was much too watery, and most of the shrimp hadn't been deveined, which noticeably affected the overall experience. Given the price, I expected a higher level of attention to detail. In Southern California, shrimp linguini typically ranges from about $18-25 at casual restaurants, $26-32 at mid-range establishments, and $33-45+ at upscale restaurants. At around $35, I expected fresh, well-executed pasta, a balanced sauce, and properly prepared shrimp. I don't mind paying premium prices for a great meal, but in this case, the quality simply didn't reflect the price point. The wild-caught salmon had good flavor, but it was unfortunately overcooked. The presentation also left us a bit confused. It was served on a wooden board placed on top of a large ceramic plate, and neither my husband nor I could quite figure out the purpose of the extra board. We actually found ourselves giggling a little because we kept looking at it wondering, "Why is there a board on a plate?" I think the dish would have looked cleaner and more elegant served directly on the plate. The oversized plate, combined with the board and the vegetables arranged around it, made the presentation feel busier than it needed to be. Sometimes, less really is more. Overall, I truly enjoyed the ambiance and the excellent service, and I appreciate the effort that goes into creating such a welcoming experience. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit it's intended because I'd love to see the food match the outstanding hospitality. Despite my experience, I would absolutely give Linn's another chance. The atmosphere and service alone make it worth returning, and next time I'd love to try the breakfast menu, which I've heard wonderful things about. I'm hopeful my next visit will better reflect the reputation this restaurant has earned. :) read more

Stopped here for some cake slices for my boyfriends birthday. I didnt read too much into the reviews and really stopped by here because cake options nearby was limited. HOWEVER, LOOK NO FURTHER if youre in need of some desserts because oh, boy. Cake is absolutely delicious here. Got takeout but the restaurant was lovely. It has a homey charm to it which we loved. The cake reflects the homey charm, its pretty but not fancy. We absolutely loved the cafe mocha tiramisu as well as the chocolate raspberry and their berry one! Pie was ok. I found the crust to be tad bit dry but finished it nonetheless! Each piece was around $12 so definitely a premium slice. Service was amazing even for togo. Service: Employees were kind, thoughtful, and attentive. Restaurant: Clean, uniquely decorated (with vintage bikes) and has small little store in the front for jellies, treats and Knick knacks. Food: Portion sizes are more than filling. I ordered a cup of the Tomato Basil Soup which was delivered nice and hot with fresh basil on top. I also ordered the starte Mac and Cheese because I saw the entree portions and wasn't that hungry-but even the starter was a large portion-and was yummy. It does come with red peppers (as noted on the menu) so it isn't a kids Mac and cheese. Some bread comes to the table with butter and a jam they are known for olallieberry jam-very delicious. Dessert: got a Olallieberry cream puff to go-I was grateful to find napkins and two forks in the bag. Beautiful building.... Does not fit the rest of the towns motif and it kind of stands out, however still has the old town charm. The inside felt really crammed... the second we walked in we were overloaded with merchandise! It was overwhelming.... Store front , bakery .....restaurant....tremendous amount of bicycles all over ..... too much over stimulation.....after we ate and were about to leave the entrance was overcrowded and blocked off so we had to maneuver through the merchandise packed area to go out the back and walk back to the front of the building. We had a disabled person with us and that was very awkward! The servers were friendly ... however it seemed that the substitute had an up charge as we were told when we ordered our food. The food was alright .... I heard a lot of "oh it's so good .... It's amazing " but it left little to minimum taste excitement for me. Linn's is a highly rated and recommended restaurant so we stopped by to check it out while visiting Cambria. Located in east village and on Main Street, it's on the corner and can't be missed. Very happy we came here for lunch because we had a great experience! I had the chicken pot pie and finished every bite. The chicken filling and gravy was tasty and the pie crust was perfect. We also had the turkey sandwich with salad which I would recommend if you're looking for a light lunch. The ollalieberry dressing on our salad was a great choice; the berry isn't as tangy as blueberry but tastes like a cross between that and a strawberry. I ended up with some sort of chicken sandwich but it had weird relish on it. The fries weren't very good and had a bunch of mustard seeds on them. Service was very slow to refill my bottomless soda. Went into cambria for lunch which is a nice small beach town in the central coast. This restaurants exterior is gorgeous. Such a beautiful building. Inside, there is a small store where you can buy books, crafts, wine, and pies. The pies here are amazing by the way. Even better? The lobster sandwich that I ate for lunch. I didn't have much expectations for lunch. Usually when I'm in the central coast, it's a constant dose of tri tip. This sandwich was an instant surprise. Perfect amount of lobster. Last time we stayed in Cambria, we ate several meals at Linn's (both locations). Great breakfasts and lunches. We definitely return for this trip, although we were staying in Paso Robles so we planned a lunch here on the way back from Hearst Castle. Excellent service and very friendly staff. We were fortunately there were only a few parties ahead of us and the wait was very short. After we were seated, the line really started. If there is a wait, fun to cruise the country store for preserves, candies, or even the bakery to take home goodies. They carry Paso Almonds (its a brittle and basically like CRACK, so good) and of course we picked up a few bags! For food, l ordered the Country Fried Chicken Breast Sandwich. The chicken was a bit bland but the side Olallieberry slaw was amazing! My husband ordered the Cup of Soup N Salad, Clam Chowder with Caesar salad, both were excellent. We had planned on a slice of pie for dessert (we took one home from the bakery), but far to full, very generous portions, especially for the price point! There is so much to offer on the menu and we were also able to order breakfast if we preferred. Our server was Ivan and he was very helpful and attentive. I came in around 9:25 AM on a Monday, and the food was delicious, and the scenery was beautiful. This place should have easily been a 5-star restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely terrible and completely ruined the experience. Our server, an older bald man wearing a hat with no tattoos, was one of the worst servers I've ever encountered. I ordered a matcha latte and was served a hot mocha instead. That's a basic mistake. When we asked if they had seafood pasta, he just stared at us with a blank expression for about five seconds before asking, "Where did you read that? On the menu?" We were obviously looking at the dinner menu. If it's not available, simply say so. Instead, the interaction was awkward and unprofessional. Another server, a tall, skinny younger guy, dropped a fork on my leg while clearing the table. I picked it up for him, and he didn't even say "thank you" or apologize. Someone should teach him basic manners. The food and the view deserve praise, but the service was absolutely terrible--honestly among the worst service I've ever received at any restaurant. This ud a well established foundational type restaurant in Cambria. I love reading their origin story on the back of their menu. They have a nice little gift shop next to their bakery. Being in olallieberry country I had to go with their olallieberry burger. My wife went with their taco. And we split a side of sweet potato fries. The fries are really good. Cooked well. Not too oily. Nice crunch. Love the subtle sweetness with it. Their sauce too is good. The burger was massive. Great flavors. Sweetness and tartness from the olallieberry. Good amouny of savory-ness. It was messy. But it was really good. Moist patty. Really enjoyed the bacon in it. The lettuce added some freshness. It was rich, but it was also really good. The cheese in it worked extremely well to hold everything together. My wife also enjoyed her taco. We had to get some dessert. So we went with the banana split which had ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) and olallieberry jam all over it. It was rich and decadent. Everything worked well together. It wasent just sweet on sweet. But it had layers of sweetness. And all the components (banana, ice cream, olallieberry jam, almonds, etc.) added so many layers to the dessert. Linn's is one of 3-4 businesses owned by the same family/company. They are known for their pies, which are sold at some of the other restaurants/businesses in town. At around 8:00-8:30 for breakfast on a Tuesday they were pretty deserted and not all of the staff had seemed to have come in yet. The interior is historic as is the outside of the building and is a nice atmosphere. The hostess and wait staff did a decent job. The hostess was friendlier than the wait staff. They have a fairly extensive menu for both breakfast and lunch. We came for breakfast because we wanted to try their quiche. The have 3-4 kinds of breakfast quiche and some other kinds for lunch/dinner. We got the ham, mushroom, spinach, and cheese quiche. There a generally two kinds off quiche: light/fluffy and dense. We prefer the dense kind, however, their fluffy quiche was good, much better than store bought such as Costco dense quiche. The crust was just ok and very similar to their pie crusts. The side of fruit was incredibly small in a little plastic cup with 5 pieces of fruit, including 2 grapes, 1 watermelon piece, 1 pineapple piece, and one cantaloupe piece. The fruit quality was at least good. Coffee was $4.50 for a refillable cup, which is outrageous, but the going rate at comparable restaurants all over CA. Overall, this was a nice dining experience and worth trying for lunch or dinner. They also have 2 codes shops more known for their pies and a store where you can get pies to bake at home throughout Cambria. We would eat here again and if you are in town, recommend you give them a try among the other local breakfast places. read more

We ate at Linn's one evening for dinner. They don't take reservations. We walked through the bakery to get to the restaurant. Fortunately, there was a table available when we arrived. We were immediately greeted and seated. After looking through the menu, Juan took our order and we had the olallieberry lemonade to drink and ordered the artichoke and Brussel's Sprouts appetizers. The drinks and bread arrived and the bread came with butter and olallieberry jam. We ordered the pot pie, two orders of the pork chop and a pot roast. The artichoke and Brussel's Sprouts appetizers arrived and we ate those with the bread. The bread and Brussel's Sprouts were very good while I wasn't impressed with the artichoke. The entrees arrived and mine did not come with the veggies that I ordered but Juan took care of it. The pork chop and pot pies were good but thumbs down on the pot roast. Juan did a good job refilling our lemonades and provided good service. The ambiance of the restaurant was open and casual. Okay all I can say is the service was terrible!!! As bad as it gets. Our waiter seamed to have a I don't care attitude for some reason. Maybe he was getting close to the end of his shift I don't know. I ordered a hamburger, it was over cooked to the point of being very dry and super greasy, so greasy the bottom bun had soaked up so much grease it turned to mush. Couldn't even come close to finishing it. We'll definitely avoid Linns next time we're in town. read more
