Linn's is a highly rated and recommended restaurant so we stopped by to check it out while visiting Cambria. Located in east village and on Main Street, it's on the corner and can't be missed. Very happy we came here for lunch because we had a great experience! I had the chicken pot pie and finished every bite. The chicken filling and gravy was tasty and the pie crust was perfect. We also had the turkey sandwich with salad which I would recommend if you're looking for a light lunch. The ollalieberry dressing on our salad was a great choice; the berry isn't as tangy as blueberry but tastes like a cross between that and a strawberry. They also have a to go service option on the side. We stopped there to grab a slice of the ollalieberry pie : highly recommended! Great service and food. read more

I had high hopes since I had heard so much about Linn's. But was rather disappointed. Their menu has all sorts of weird fancy foods. I ended up with some sort of chicken sandwich but it had weird relish on it. The fries weren't very good and had a bunch of mustard seeds on them. Service was very slow to refill my bottomless soda. We came here for a much needed lunch while visiting Cambria. We were seated right away. I love their decor. With all the bikes along the walls and ceilings. This ud a well established foundational type restaurant in Cambria. I love reading their origin story on the back of their menu. They have a nice little gift shop next to their bakery. As well as the main dining area. Service was ok. Hit and miss. They were fast to seat us. But some things like getting spoons for our banana split took a while. Food came out quickly though. Being in olallieberry country I had to go with their olallieberry burger. My wife went with their taco. And we split a side of sweet potato fries. The fries are really good. Cooked well. Not too oily. Nice crunch. Love the subtle sweetness with it. Their sauce too is good. The burger was massive. Great flavors. Sweetness and tartness from the olallieberry. Good amouny of savory-ness. It was messy. But it was really good. Moist patty. Really enjoyed the bacon in it. The lettuce added some freshness. It was rich, but it was also really good. The cheese in it worked extremely well to hold everything together. My wife also enjoyed her taco. We had to get some dessert. So we went with the banana split which had ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) and olallieberry jam all over it. It was rich and decadent. Everything worked well together. It wasent just sweet on sweet. But it had layers of sweetness. And all the components (banana, ice cream, olallieberry jam, almonds, etc.) added so many layers to the dessert. Had it with a cup of coffee and it was pure perfection. Definitely a institution in Cambria that you have to try at least once when your in town. They habe baked goods to go. Not the best experience...but there were some bright spots. The Cobb salad was great, over medium eggs were done right, muffins came with most meals, also good (but there was an undisclosed fee for the olloliberry muffin). The bad - Sauce on the Benedict was broken, bacon was literally black (the Cobb bacon was brown), poached eggs - one was good the other was over done to the point of hard boiled, the chicken fried steak looked and tasted like a frozen product, gravy had a flour taste, the fruit cup was past its prime, coffee cups went unfilled. Service was a joke. It felt like the server was either mad at having to be at work or simply untrained. Either way, I shouldn't feel like I am imposing on the staff at a restaurant. He insisted on reaching across the table (and two guests) to deliver my dish. When I tried to take the plate to assist he let me know that "I need to put it down for you." The plate, and really the whole dish, was cold. If you are not going to serve individually, then take the help. Or at least have hot food. Atmosphere is good. Relaxed and very family friendly. The kitchen got food out quickly. Saving the overall rating. Saving to a second star is sad though. Beautiful building.... Does not fit the rest of the towns motif and it kind of stands out, however still has the old town charm. The inside felt really crammed... the second we walked in we were overloaded with merchandise! It was overwhelming.... Store front , bakery .....restaurant....tremendous amount of bicycles all over ..... too much over stimulation.....after we ate and were about to leave the entrance was overcrowded and blocked off so we had to maneuver through the merchandise packed area to go out the back and walk back to the front of the building. We had a disabled person with us and that was very awkward! The servers were friendly ... however it seemed that the substitute had an up charge as we were told when we ordered our food. The food was alright .... I heard a lot of "oh it's so good .... It's amazing " but it left little to minimum taste excitement for me. The Eggs Benedict was running for some on our table and overcooked for others .... The sauce seemed too coagulated . The flies.... More shooing flies than eating! A couple years ago, my hubby and I came here for the olallieberry pie à la mode. It left such an impression that we had to come back. This time, we had the raspberry rhubarb pie à la mode and it did not disappoint. The crust could have been better but is was still overall, yummy! The ice cream they use is so creamy. Went into cambria for lunch which is a nice small beach town in the central coast. This restaurants exterior is gorgeous. Such a beautiful building. Inside, there is a small store where you can buy books, crafts, wine, and pies. The pies here are amazing by the way. Even better? The lobster sandwich that I ate for lunch. I didn't have much expectations for lunch. Usually when I'm in the central coast, it's a constant dose of tri tip. This sandwich was an instant surprise. Perfect amount of lobster. Last time we stayed in Cambria, we ate several meals at Linn's (both locations). Great breakfasts and lunches. We definitely return for this trip, although we were staying in Paso Robles so we planned a lunch here on the way back from Hearst Castle. Excellent service and very friendly staff. We were fortunately there were only a few parties ahead of us and the wait was very short. After we were seated, the line really started. If there is a wait, fun to cruise the country store for preserves, candies, or even the bakery to take home goodies. They carry Paso Almonds (its a brittle and basically like CRACK, so good) and of course we picked up a few bags! For food, l ordered the Country Fried Chicken Breast Sandwich. The chicken was a bit bland but the side Olallieberry slaw was amazing! My husband ordered the Cup of Soup N Salad, Clam Chowder with Caesar salad, both were excellent. We had planned on a slice of pie for dessert (we took one home from the bakery), but far to full, very generous portions, especially for the price point! There is so much to offer on the menu and we were also able to order breakfast if we preferred. Our server was Ivan and he was very helpful and attentive. Mediocre breakfast with big portions & prices that reflect it! I got the Linn's Bin Special, which features a huge pile of bland hash browns topped with even more bland over easy eggs and bell peppers, along with really greasy cheese and ham. The dish was just not very cohesive nor tasty. We also tried their famous olallieberry pie and muffin. I don't like tart fruits and the filling was extremely tart! Filling to crust ratio on the pie was also so off. The muffin was a little better. Service was great. Promptly seated and attended to by multiple staff. It's an ok place that we go mainly for nostalgia. It's more of a comfort food type of place. However, the ribeye is pretty good. They do that well here. We can't get enough Ollalaberry! I remember coming here with my parents and g-pa when I was about 10 yrs old and I remember my g-pa buying all things Ollalaberry. Now my husband and I stopped on our roadtrip up the coast and I understand the hype! As a cyclist, the bicycle decor was an added bonus. We had breakfast there and the food and service were great! No complaints, but the little shop in the back with all their homemade syrups and jams and mini pies is dangerous, of course I had to get some Ollalaberry jam for my parents and g-pa, and a couple mini pies for the road! Linn's is one of 3-4 businesses owned by the same family/company. They are known for their pies, which are sold at some of the other restaurants/businesses in town. At around 8:00-8:30 for breakfast on a Tuesday they were pretty deserted and not all of the staff had seemed to have come in yet. The interior is historic as is the outside of the building and is a nice atmosphere. The hostess and wait staff did a decent job. The hostess was friendlier than the wait staff. They have a fairly extensive menu for both breakfast and lunch. We came for breakfast because we wanted to try their quiche. The have 3-4 kinds of breakfast quiche and some other kinds for lunch/dinner. We got the ham, mushroom, spinach, and cheese quiche. There a generally two kinds off quiche: light/fluffy and dense. We prefer the dense kind, however, their fluffy quiche was good, much better than store bought such as Costco dense quiche. The crust was just ok and very similar to their pie crusts. The side of fruit was incredibly small in a little plastic cup with 5 pieces of fruit, including 2 grapes, 1 watermelon piece, 1 pineapple piece, and one cantaloupe piece. The fruit quality was at least good. Coffee was $4.50 for a refillable cup, which is outrageous, but the going rate at comparable restaurants all over CA. Overall, this was a nice dining experience and worth trying for lunch or dinner. They also have 2 codes shops more known for their pies and a store where you can get pies to bake at home throughout Cambria. We would eat here again and if you are in town, recommend you give them a try among the other local breakfast places. read more

One of the best restaurant experiences I've had where food, service and everything overall was top notch, 5 stars all around. We ate at Linn's one evening for dinner. They don't take reservations. We walked through the bakery to get to the restaurant. Fortunately, there was a table available when we arrived. We were immediately greeted and seated. After looking through the menu, Juan took our order and we had the olallieberry lemonade to drink and ordered the artichoke and Brussel's Sprouts appetizers. The drinks and bread arrived and the bread came with butter and olallieberry jam. We ordered the pot pie, two orders of the pork chop and a pot roast. The artichoke and Brussel's Sprouts appetizers arrived and we ate those with the bread. The bread and Brussel's Sprouts were very good while I wasn't impressed with the artichoke. The entrees arrived and mine did not come with the veggies that I ordered but Juan took care of it. The pork chop and pot pies were good but thumbs down on the pot roast. Juan did a good job refilling our lemonades and provided good service. The ambiance of the restaurant was open and casual. We decided to take some dessert to go and ordered the olallieberry pie and olallieberry cake. Both desserts were very good. Overall 3.5 star experience. read more

My girlfriend and I were out spending the day enjoying the moonstone beach when we became hungry. So we decided to give Linn's a try and glad we did. It's a big place and lots going on so it did take a little bit until the sever came and seen us. But all good things are worth the wait. I got the special a flat iron steak with an amazing sauce mashed potatoes and fresh broccolini it was delicious. My girlfriend had the berry chicken which was amazing. You can tell the fresh wholesome ingredients and care that is actually put in to the food. Our meal was so delicious we decided to return the next morning for breakfast which was just as good as my dinner. One of the bigger restaurants in Cambria and we are happy landed here for breakfast. Lots of yummy options to choose from including a wide vary of GF options! I started with a chai latte, which was perfectly spiced & sweetened. With that, came my gf carrot cake muffin and I was impressed with how delicious it was. I ordered the Mr. Potato Stack which was a tower of hashbrowns, cheese , eggs & salsa! I added crispy bacon & avocado. Your typical hearty breakfast. My husband ordered the stuffed ollaliberrie French toast! He was over the moon for it! It was served with eggs, bacon & fruit! We requested crispy bacon & crispy bacon is what we got! We were told that Linn's was an institution. Showed up early evening and got a nice table. Great building with bikes hung everywhere. Food was delicious. I got chicken pot pie. The wife got the Sea Dabs. Those were excellent. As I am writing this, just saw where the service button turned green and checked. NOT. Our server was awful. Really wrecked the meal for us. We sat for 10 minutes until he finally came over. He flipped his pad and said Ready? We were like yes we would like a glass of wine maybe an appetizer. Someone else brought us delicious bread and jam. We asked about it and our waiter said he didn't know where they got it. No how are you. No talk about the bikes. I guess there were no specials. He plopped our plates down and didn't see him until the end. We thought maybe he didn't like waiting on 2 women but the table next to us left and said he was a jerk to them also. Came here with my family after visiting Hearst Castle. So glad we came here because the food and environment was terrific! Loved the wide menu! The Hearst Burger was huge and flavorful. We came here for dinner and it was so good, we came back for breakfast the next day! They had me hooked with the olallieberry spread and bread. I had the berry chicken entree and it was like a thanksgiving dinner. For breakfast, pancakes with olallieberry syrup was amazing. My bf said the corned beef hash was the best he's ever had. I found Linn's in Yelp with some great reviews and we were not let down. I was amazed with all the bicycles hanging on the walls, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the great friendly atmosphere with the employees and the owner Aaron Linn. He is a working owner which means he doesn't just stand and delegate. He was seating people, talking with the guests and very welcoming. It was a great atmosphere. My wife had the veggie omelette with a scone that had Olallieberry/lemon and I had Linn's Bin Special with a blueberry pancake and a blueberry muffin. The food was served hot and fresh and very tasty! The potato cakes were also cooked fresh and not burned. We enjoyed the food and highly recommend it. I heard great things about Linn's but unfortunately I was greatly disappointed. The tri-tip sandwich I got was salty and masked the taste of the meat. The meat was also over cooked and dry. We also ordered the chicken pot pie and while the top was flaky, the bottom was not cooked. The service was friendly and the restaurant itself looked great and had a great local restaurant feel. We only came for the pie and choose the apricot. It was just okay. The crust was nothing special and the apricot flavor was not robust enough for us. There were many other pies that looked amazing, but my wife wanted the apricot. Not sure we ordered the right thing. We sat outside at a cute table in the alley. It looked like a manager that asked us if we wanted a plate and fork to eat the pie. That was a nice touch. The cashier was not very helpful and didn't go out of her way for us. She seemed a bit upset. The restaurant was decorated really cool with a bunch of old bicycles that were all labled with the year they were made. Cool if you are into bikes. This was one of my favorite restaurants. The dessert selection was so incredible. Their famous jelly was so good too.

The biscuits and gravy was nice and soft melted right in my mouth. The bacon however was too crispy (mostly burnt). Or server was attentive and we loved the ambiance, lots of decor to look at while you wait. The pies are also delicious along with their muffins! read more

We stopped in for a late lunch after our tour of the Hearst Castle. We saw Hearst Ranch beef burger and couldn't resist. The burgers were tasty!!! Great fries too. Then since Linn's is known for their Ollalaberries (sp) we ordered dessert. The pie was awesome!!! The cake was meh. I didn't like the frosting on the outside, it was hard. The cake and filling delicious!!!! There is a bakery and gift shop as well. We purchased some jelly and spicy topping. A lot of people were ordering baked goods-danish, cinnamon rolls, brownies, etc. We most definitely recommend and will return. read more

We got takeout here, and I got their vegetarian burger. It was okay, I think the biggest issue I had with it was the cheese - it felt a little rubbery and the flavor just tasted off. The fries were also not great and maybe that's just because I don't like steak fries, but they just felt very floppy and super unsalted. The place looked super cute inside though! read more

Ordered the Country Breakfast, two eggs, two fresh biscuits (cut in half), country gravy (I asked on the side) three trips of bacon, small fresh fruit cup and a small portion of Olallieberry preserve. Very good cooked to perfection. Was nice to have the preserve on the naked biscuit. A little pricey for breakfast but you have to treat yourself once in awhile. No regrets. Limited parking, but free street parking. Sunday morning had a short wait. Ambiance is a bicycle themed, two wheelers hanging all over. read more
