I've been coming up to Cambria for the past few years with my pup over the 4th of July weekend. Always searching for places with a nice outside patio to bring my pup and also that has great eats. Glad I found Indigo Moon. The outdoor patio is quite large and has a nice ambiance for al fresco dining with your pup. I had the Faroe Island Salmon served with broccoli and cauliflower with brown & wild rice. The salmon was one of the best salmons I've had. I usually don't eat the skin, but this skin was crisp and the salmon was cooked perfectly. If you love salmon, this is a must. My friend had a chicken pasta and also loved their main dish. We were too full to have dessert. Next time. Service was nice and attentive. My pup also loved the patio and loved the fresh bowl of water. I'll definitely be back next trip to Cambria. read more

The location and building are quaint and charming, with a wide variety of indoor dining spaces, covered patio and pet friendly garden patio. The host and our server Elin were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food, however, was mostly underwhelming. * Crab Cakes -- Too much filler for me, and not much crab to the taste. The chili lime sauce was not the best looking accompaniment either. Not sure why this appears to be such a popular item. * Salmon Tacos -- Dry rub salmon chunks with chili lime mayo, shredded cabbage, mango salsa and black beans. Salmon was fresh enough, but a bit heavy on the dry rub seasoning. The mango salsa was nice. The side black beans had too much salt and cummin for my taste. * Flat Iron Steak -- It was rather average. Not the most tender or juicy skirt steak. Normally served with mashed potato and veggies, but they allowed us to sub mash potatoes for creamy polenta which was nice. I have to say we were expecting more from Indigo Moon based on the other reviews. Overall, the food was just ok...like a longtime neighborhood cafe you'd like to support, but don't expect super fine dining. read more

A bifurcated experience. Service started great,; the cuisine was above average. Being it was a weekday, the restaurant was not crowded and in the first half staff was attentive. But towards the end, when it came time for the after dinner round , and coffee, something happened. Staff disappeared for a long time. One of our party had ordered coffee and it took almost 15 minutes for it to come. And when he did come the first time, he brought out the pot, but no cup. Realizing his error, he went back and instead of 30 seconds later producing a cup of coffee, it took another 10 minutes. And then after that, it took a long time for the check to come. So it was strange, although I would recommend the cuisine there, maybe the staff was just having an off night. read more

This place was recommended to us so we decided to stop by on a Friday night. We were able to get seated without a reservation but we sat there for awhile before even being acknowledged. We had to finally ask for a server since they were understaffed. We ordered right away since we've had a good 10min or so to already look over the menu with no server. They also charge $8 for sharing plate which is just really silly and unnecessary. The patio is very nice and inviting. It has a great ambiance. It also took a little bit to get the food which we figured. This is what we ordered: -Fish and chips-best out of all our items. 3 pieces and good fries -Calamari plate was also good -Lobster bisque- lacked lobster -Crab cakes- which I got was not good!! There was soo much fillers that I barely tasted the crab. I definitely would not recommend. Kinda gummy actually. Overall, it was ok. I wouldn't need to go again. read more

This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Cambria. When they very first opened I didn't care for it but revisited after reading Steven and Shawna's reviews our last trip a few years ago. We went again this trip and were blown away. They had a puff pastry stuffed and topped with local mushrooms, pancetta, and a wine sauce. Zero exaggeration, this was one of the best things I have ever eaten. The texture and flavors were a culinary masterpiece. Unfortunately it was a special that night so no clue how often they have it For dinner I went with the pecan crusted halibut topped with a leek sauce and my wife had the fish and chips. Both completely outstanding. The fish and chips were so good I kept stealing off my wife's plate. My dish was equally as good. Even the broccoli was delicious!! Nothing was left on our plates. I'm not sure why they asked if it was our anniversary when they did zero for it. Don't ask if you don't care. Previous visit I had the lamb and my wife had the steak. Highly recommend you eat her. Had takeout last night for two of us. We ordered the Pistachio and goat cheese salad, Fish and chips and the Quinoa bowel. Everything was delicious. The quinoa bowel was a protein powerhouse. Very flavorful, well balanced and the portion size was huge! Calling in the order and pick up was quick. At 6:45 pm the restaurant was pretty quiet. It's too bad. Had a lovely dinner here on Wednesday during a little getaway enjoying all the beauty the area has to offer. Our server was so nice and took great care of us from the moment we sat down. She described the appetizer special so fondly that we decided to get it. But really, it's hard to go wrong with puff pastry, chanterelle mushrooms, & pancetta. We also ordered a bottle of wine for the table and it was one of the best gewurztaminers I've ever tried. It also went really well with my dinner. I had the halibut special and it was perfectly cooked. It practically melted in my mouth. My spouse loved his duck and almost licked the place because the sauce was so good. I can't believe it has been five years since we had dinnerat this first rate restaurant. Five years and the great menu is till the same, with all our favorites like thequinoa squash and flat iron steak. This visit, our professional server steered me to the salmon, and I was able to substitute mashed potatoes for rice, and spinach for broccoli, no problem. The salmon had just the right crispness, juicy and tender. The interior is cozy, no matter which room you are seated in, with a comfortable, yet white table cloth feel. My husband couldn't resist their short rib special, or their apple berry crisp, and was pleased with both. We will be back sooner, this time to appreciate this well trained kitchen. read more

Just ama ing restaurant from the moment we walked in and were greet, the ambiance, art and our cool server Dakota Absolutely the seared ahi along with the sauces and pickled cucumbers we've ever had! The salad of spring mix, goat cheese, Meyer lemon vinegarette dressing with Ruby grapefruit was outstanding. We only wish we had not had a huge lunch so we could partake in the main dishes. We arrived in Cambria around 2 PM, and my husband found a restaurant called Indigo Moon. I checked their website to see if we could make a reservation. After submitting the request, it noted that we would receive a second email to confirm the reservation. Fortunately, I did receive that confirmation later. Overall, our experience was quite good. I had read mixed reviews about the restaurant, which initially made me hesitant to add it to our list. However, since we had an open dinner slot while waiting for our room, I encouraged my husband to choose a restaurant, and he picked Indigo Moon. The restaurant itself was beautiful and impeccably clean, with a lovely outdoor seating area. We sat under a cover, and it was quite chilly, but the waiter offered to turn on the heater, which was a nice touch. Otherwise, I'm not sure if my husband would have enjoyed the cold! Our service was excellent. The young waitress was friendly, patient, and professional. I was concerned we might encounter a snobbish waiter based on some Yelp reviews, but that wasn't the case here. When we arrived, our reservation was noted, and we were seated promptly. The waiter quickly brought us water and bread, which I appreciated since I wasn't sure if we needed to ask for them based on the menu. We ordered appetizers: lobster bisque and crab cakes. Both were delicious, especially the lobster bisque; I nearly asked for more to go, but since we were traveling, I decided against it. I liked that the dishes were served in the right order: first the complimentary bread and butter, then the crab cakes, followed by the lobster bisque, and finally our main courses. I ordered the scallops, which were superb, complemented perfectly by the sauce. My husband enjoyed them as well. I chose the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection but lacked flavor in the meat itself. While the seasoning on the outside was nice, the meat didn't have the depth of flavor I was hoping for. As an Asian, I found myself wishing for some Thai pepper sauce to dip into. I did request hot sauce and was pleased to find Tabasco like Sriracha sauce available. The steamed broccoli, however, was outstanding--soft and perfectly cooked, unlike the usual overcooked versions I often encounter. When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked if they offered any special touches. I forgot to mention I wouldn't mind paying for something special, but when we ordered dessert, the waiter surprised us with a key lime pie, complete with a candle and a lovely "Happy Anniversary" wish. We had a wonderful time and were glad we didn't skip this restaurant. I hope others who have had negative experiences find that Indigo Moon is improving. It can be hit or miss, but I truly hope they maintain their high standards for both service and food. read more

We came in after Friday night rush and were seated without delay. We could hear singing from the kitchen on our walk up so we suspected we were in for something special and were not disappointed. Inside was pleasing guests separated not too close among multiple rooms. Dog friendly patio but it was cool enough for our Georgia to sleep in the car. Lilly had the pear salad and spinach soup both excellent and surprisingly filling with nuts and cheese. There's another ingredient in spinach soup we couldn't recognize ? Butternut squash but it was delicious. I had standard fish and chips with slaw and fries above average. There were pricier things on menu like ribeye or rack of lamb well save for a special occasion. Desert was peach blueberry cobbler with oatmeal and ? Some kind of day. We loved it. We've been coming Cambria for years and surprisingly this was our first time. I love their salmon and I don't know what they do to their broccoli and spinach, but I could eat a plate full of their veggies alone. The flat iron steak and lobster bisque were both excellent. Steak was tender and flavorful, and the bisque was rich and satisfying. The fettuccine was pretty bad, there was way too much white wine that hadn't cooked off, which threw off the whole flavor. Service was mixed. One staff member greeted us without a word and didn't give us napkins. But the waiter who brought us water and the waitress who took our order were friendly. Overall, an okay experience. Today we received a call from the restaurant canceling our dinner reservations because the owner's daughter is having a wedding dinner. On a road trip, spending 1 night in Cambria and Indigo Moon was close to our motel. It was a Tuesday evening and apparently they were not expecting the number of patrons that showed up so we waited at the check in desk for 5 minutes before someone showed up. We had reservations and were seated shortly. Overall, our waitress was friendly and attentive, however she was clearly busy so service was somewhat slow - but we were on vacation so it was a relaxing, leisurely dinner. BTW, the food was excellent! Crab cakes came with a tasty sauce, pistachio salad was also excellent with a light but flavorful dressing, fish and chips were delicious and a very generous portion, fettuccini and shrimp was also great with plenty of shrimp and again a light but flavorful artichoke sauce. The fettuccini came with some garlic bread which was delicious by itself but even better when dipped in the pasta sauce. It was an expensive dinner ($115 before tip) but when the atmosphere, server and food are all wonderful it makes the cost palatable. If we are in Cambria sometime down the road we would certainly eat here again. read more

We went here to celebrate our anniversary; so I will be brief, We Ordered a Chicken dinner and a Pork chop dinner. Chicken breast was small, rubbery skin (awful) maybe 2 tsps. of gravy (not good!) Pork Chop was boring not much flavor, had to ask twice for bread, Ordered walnut salad (not much flavor). Mashed potatoes were good, broccoli was over cooked, waitress was nice but forgetful and not very attentive , Waitress told us that three other tables around us had complained about their food. she just apologized. Service was a little slow - the server seemed like she had a lot of tables by herself. Everything went well besides that. We've come up to the Cambria area multiple times and never been to this restaurant. This time we decided to try and WOW. The restaurant is very nice with many different dinning areas. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Mac n Cheese, Pear Candied Walnut Salad, the New York Steak and creme brulee for dessert. The mac n cheese was the best I have ever had. It was creamy, rich and flavorful. The salad was also very good with the Meyer Lemon vinegrette. My husband had the new York steak with mashed golden potatoes and seasonal veggies. The steak was perfect and tender. The mash potatoes were creamy. The portions are large, no skimping on servings. We will DEFINITLEY be eating here again. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the Cambria. It is also dog friendly. read more

Our first time at Indigo Moon, it was delicious. I ordered the Wild salmon with brown and wild rice mixed with fresh broccoli and my husband had fettuccine with prawns, which we asked to be grilled. The salmon was seared to perfection, broccoli had a little bit of garlic flavor and the rice was delicious. His fettuccine was in this garlic white wine sauce, I loved it! Pawns were a good size and very done! And I almost forgot to mention our server, Bella, she was really bubbly and well informed on all the plates and super attentive. Beautiful little restaurant in downtown (Eastside) Cambria. The ambiance was really nice, like eating at your grandmother's house. All these little rooms with a few tables. Was nice, made it more intimate and quiet. The menu and wine list are super. I had the lobster bisque (best I've had in a long time), duck breast, and a tasty slice of key lime pie; all this with a yummy Pinot Noir. Service was excellent. I have been coming to Indigo Moon for probably over 15 years now and it remains one of my favorite restaurants in Cambria. On my last visit I had a pretty bad experience due to short staffing, with our food taking over an hour to come out. I was hesitant to go back but I am so glad I did. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, our food came out promptly, everything was delicious, and it is hard to beat the ambiance of the covered patio (or the garden setting adorned with string lights!) A lovely french bread is served upon request and it comes with a nice whipped butter. I ordered the salmon and subbed the rice for mashed potatoes, my parents both ordered the chimichurri flat iron. My parents both loved their meals. My salmon was delicious with the basil butter and the mashed potatoes were incredible and a massive portion. The only thing I would say is the salmon was slightly overcooked. For dessert, I ordered the lemon berry bread pudding, lemon and berry is one of my favorite flavor combinations so how could I turn that down?! It came with a raspberry sauce drizzled over it and was just perfection. My parents shared the creme brûlée, which they enjoyed. We all agreed that Indio Moon remains one of the best restaurants in town and has some of the most reasonable prices as well, given the quality and portion sizes of the food. There are several entrees in the 20's, which is hard to find at other sit down comparable restaurants in the area. I really wish they would bring back the goat cheese and yam wontons with the orange ginger dipping sauce - it was one of my most favorite appetizers ever! read more

We came here for my wife's birthday and we're excited when the person who took our phone reservations said they love hosting birthdays. To our disappointment there was no special birthday greeting or gesture from the restaurant. We didn't want to say anything and make a big deal though. Other than that the food and service was great.
