Just ama ing restaurant from the moment we walked in and were greet, the ambiance, art and our cool server Dakota Absolutely the seared ahi along with the sauces and pickled cucumbers we've ever had! Had a lovely dinner here on Wednesday during a little getaway enjoying all the beauty the area has to offer. Our server was so nice and took great care of us from the moment we sat down. She described the appetizer special so fondly that we decided to get it. But really, it's hard to go wrong with puff pastry, chanterelle mushrooms, & pancetta. We also ordered a bottle of wine for the table and it was one of the best gewurztaminers I've ever tried. It also went really well with my dinner. I had the halibut special and it was perfectly cooked. It practically melted in my mouth. My spouse loved his duck and almost licked the place because the sauce was so good. I can't believe it has been five years since we had dinnerat this first rate restaurant. Five years and the great menu is till the same, with all our favorites like thequinoa squash and flat iron steak. This visit, our professional server steered me to the salmon, and I was able to substitute mashed potatoes for rice, and spinach for broccoli, no problem. The salmon had just the right crispness, juicy and tender. The interior is cozy, no matter which room you are seated in, with a comfortable, yet white table cloth feel. My husband couldn't resist their short rib special, or their apple berry crisp, and was pleased with both. We will be back sooner, this time to appreciate this well trained kitchen. read more

We arrived in Cambria around 2 PM, and my husband found a restaurant called Indigo Moon. I checked their website to see if we could make a reservation. After submitting the request, it noted that we would receive a second email to confirm the reservation. Fortunately, I did receive that confirmation later. Overall, our experience was quite good. I had read mixed reviews about the restaurant, which initially made me hesitant to add it to our list. However, since we had an open dinner slot while waiting for our room, I encouraged my husband to choose a restaurant, and he picked Indigo Moon. The restaurant itself was beautiful and impeccably clean, with a lovely outdoor seating area. We sat under a cover, and it was quite chilly, but the waiter offered to turn on the heater, which was a nice touch. Otherwise, I'm not sure if my husband would have enjoyed the cold! Our service was excellent. The young waitress was friendly, patient, and professional. I was concerned we might encounter a snobbish waiter based on some Yelp reviews, but that wasn't the case here. When we arrived, our reservation was noted, and we were seated promptly. The waiter quickly brought us water and bread, which I appreciated since I wasn't sure if we needed to ask for them based on the menu. We ordered appetizers: lobster bisque and crab cakes. Both were delicious, especially the lobster bisque; I nearly asked for more to go, but since we were traveling, I decided against it. I liked that the dishes were served in the right order: first the complimentary bread and butter, then the crab cakes, followed by the lobster bisque, and finally our main courses. I ordered the scallops, which were superb, complemented perfectly by the sauce. My husband enjoyed them as well. I chose the lamb chops, which were cooked to perfection but lacked flavor in the meat itself. While the seasoning on the outside was nice, the meat didn't have the depth of flavor I was hoping for. As an Asian, I found myself wishing for some Thai pepper sauce to dip into. I did request hot sauce and was pleased to find Tabasco like Sriracha sauce available. The steamed broccoli, however, was outstanding--soft and perfectly cooked, unlike the usual overcooked versions I often encounter. When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked if they offered any special touches. I forgot to mention I wouldn't mind paying for something special, but when we ordered dessert, the waiter surprised us with a key lime pie, complete with a candle and a lovely "Happy Anniversary" wish. We had a wonderful time and were glad we didn't skip this restaurant. I hope others who have had negative experiences find that Indigo Moon is improving. It can be hit or miss, but I truly hope they maintain their high standards for both service and food. read more

The flat iron steak and lobster bisque were both excellent. Steak was tender and flavorful, and the bisque was rich and satisfying. The fettuccine was pretty bad, there was way too much white wine that hadn't cooked off, which threw off the whole flavor. Service was mixed. One staff member greeted us without a word and didn't give us napkins. But the waiter who brought us water and the waitress who took our order were friendly. Overall, an okay experience. Late on a weeknight, 8pm! We were able to get a table next to some loud locals talking about barbecue and we enjoyed several appetizers. They were really good and our service was top notch. I appreciated the meal, the service and when the loud locals skedaddled. read more

We really like Indigo Moon. Last night's experience was a bit disappointing, though. The Good: The food was great and the service was friendly. The Bad and the Ugly: I was trying to decide between the salmon, the ribeye, and the lamb. I was leaning toward the salmon. The server recommended the lamb, so we my wife and I both ordered it. The server recommended a wine to go with the lamb, and we accepted her recommendation. We also ordered an appetizer and some bread. The entrées arrived before the appetizer and the bread, so we asked for them to be delivered. The appetizer arrived in just a few minutes, but the bread didn't. We asked for bread again and it arrived a few minutes later. As I got into my meal, it didn't taste like lamb. It was duck. I have no idea how this happened, as I've never ordered duck I'm my life, because ducks seem too cute to eat. Somehow, my wife got the lamb she had ordered. I tasted it; it was excellent. The meal finished on a positive note; both deserts were excellent. They made things right with the final bill. We'll be back, but not until we've visited a handful of other restaurants that we really like in town for a nice dinner. Food was magnificent. Crab cakes and lobster bisque for appetizers. The combination of these was so exquisite. My hubby and I shared the 16oz RibEye it came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We've come up to the Cambria area multiple times and never been to this restaurant. This time we decided to try and WOW. The restaurant is very nice with many different dinning areas. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Mac n Cheese, Pear Candied Walnut Salad, the New York Steak and creme brulee for dessert. The mac n cheese was the best I have ever had. It was creamy, rich and flavorful. The salad was also very good with the Meyer Lemon vinegrette. My husband had the new York steak with mashed golden potatoes and seasonal veggies. The steak was perfect and tender. The mash potatoes were creamy. The portions are large, no skimping on servings. We will DEFINITLEY be eating here again. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the Cambria. It is also dog friendly. read more

Pork Chop was boring not much flavor, had to ask twice for bread, Ordered walnut salad (not much flavor). Mashed potatoes were good, broccoli was over cooked, waitress was nice but forgetful and not very attentive , Waitress told us that three other tables around us had complained about their food. she just apologized. Our first time at Indigo Moon, it was delicious. I ordered the Wild salmon with brown and wild rice mixed with fresh broccoli and my husband had fettuccine with prawns, which we asked to be grilled. Beautiful little restaurant in downtown (Eastside) Cambria. The ambiance was really nice, like eating at your grandmother's house. All these little rooms with a few tables. Was nice, made it more intimate and quiet. The menu and wine list are super. I had the lobster bisque (best I've had in a long time), duck breast, and a tasty slice of key lime pie; all this with a yummy Pinot Noir. Service was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by Indigo Moon. It was more of a fine dining experience than we expected. We came with our dogs and we were seated on the enclosed patio, warmed by heaters. The service was friendly and attentive. The food really good. We (table of 4) ended up splitting a bunch of appetizers - starting with Lobster Bisque, tuna tartare, clams, leek and onion tart and a salad. Everything was flavored really nicely. Outstanding dinner cuisine and service! I highly recommend Indigo Moon. We started with the Fig & Kalamata Tapenade, an unexpected and wonderful flavor combo. Then we each had the baby greens with pear and gorgonzola salad (my wife added chicken to make her's her entree). The lettuce & fruit was so flavorful and fresh I wondered if they grew it onsite, the lemon vinaigrette was the perfect offset to the sweetness of the caramelized walnuts and ripe pear slices. The Duck Breast with Blackberry Gastrique was prepared perfectly and even the accompanying brown and wild rice was exceptional. We finished off sharing the Chocolate Tower with coffee. Our waitperson brought us water, bread and menus shortly after being seated. Service was attentive & knowledgeable but not intrusive or rushed; just perfect. I think the corkage was $15. It was a Saturday evening & we had our small dog with us so we were quickly sat on the patio. They have an adorable patio and set up, heaters, beautifully lighting.. the ambiance was fantastic. We were greeted quickly by our server Jackie. She was super sweet & attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I have been coming to Indigo Moon for probably over 15 years now and it remains one of my favorite restaurants in Cambria. On my last visit I had a pretty bad experience due to short staffing, with our food taking over an hour to come out. I was hesitant to go back but I am so glad I did. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, our food came out promptly, everything was delicious, and it is hard to beat the ambiance of the covered patio (or the garden setting adorned with string lights!) A lovely french bread is served upon request and it comes with a nice whipped butter. I ordered the salmon and subbed the rice for mashed potatoes, my parents both ordered the chimichurri flat iron. My parents both loved their meals. My salmon was delicious with the basil butter and the mashed potatoes were incredible and a massive portion. The only thing I would say is the salmon was slightly overcooked. For dessert, I ordered the lemon berry bread pudding, lemon and berry is one of my favorite flavor combinations so how could I turn that down?! It came with a raspberry sauce drizzled over it and was just perfection. My parents shared the creme brûlée, which they enjoyed. We all agreed that Indio Moon remains one of the best restaurants in town and has some of the most reasonable prices as well, given the quality and portion sizes of the food. There are several entrees in the 20's, which is hard to find at other sit down comparable restaurants in the area. I really wish they would bring back the goat cheese and yam wontons with the orange ginger dipping sauce - it was one of my most favorite appetizers ever! read more

i had been here before and I was excited to share this place with my husband for our anniversary! The server was fine - not overly friendly but we were there to enjoy our evening! Unfortunately there was a dog next to us that barked off and on for about 20 minutes ! The owners did not take the dog outside and the restaurant allowed this disruptive behavior. This was not a service dog it was a young dog that was not trained. There were other guests affected by this and it made for a disappointing evening . The restaurant was not full and they could have offered us another table but they didn't. We mentioned our disappointment to the hostess and were just told ..sorry. We will hesitate to return or recommend this restaurant based on how this was handled. read more

we have been coming to Cambria for New Year's last eight years and I still can't explain why it is. We haven't been to this restaurant before. Everything we ordered was excellent, and the portions were bordering on the generous, which was a pleasant surprise. The only thing that shaded the excellent food for first place was the outstanding service given us by Isabella. Firstly, there was none of that awful pressure you get these days when you know restaurants are forcing you to hurry up so they can turn tables as quickly as possible. We had the fettuccine and prawns and wild salmon - the salmon was grilled perfectly. We asked for the prawns on the fettuccine to be grilled rather than sautéed and they had no problem with that. The prawns came out perfect and the pasta was cooked just right. However, the flavor of the white wine in pasta was a little strong. Other than that, we had no complaints. The service from Bella was great. She is quite a character. The ambience on the patio area was pretty good, you almost feel like you're indoors the way it's built out. Highly recommended! read more

Ate here this weekend and had a great experience. The staff seemed friendly. I did have to specifically ask for bread service (twice). I had the Rack of Lamb and my wife had the Penne Pasta.
