Indigo Moon was my choice for dinner our first ever night in Cambria. After looking at multiple reviews and restaurants throughout town and looking at the menu Indigo Moon really stood out. I had made reservations for 6pm and we arrived about 10-15 minutes early and were quickly asked whether we wanted inside seating or out. Both areas seemed very nice but there was something about the large outdoor patio that made this feel special and we opted to sit outside. We were quickly shown to our seat and having already looked over the menu beforehand I already knew what it is that I wanted. My wife was on the fence about a couple dishes herself and settled for the New Zealand Rack of Lamb (as I knew she would) while I went with the Flat Iron Steak. To drink we both settled for water and iced tea to drink since they didn't seem to offer a cocktail menu (that I saw) which I was really hoping for. I believe they did offer some beer and wine options however those are not typically for me. The service was friendly and very good throughout, the ambiance was beautiful and serene and the food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. I had chosen to swap out my fingerling potatoes for mashed and was a little worried after seeing several reviews where others had made the same requests only to not get them but lo and behold mine was correct and absolutely delicious with each bite. My wife also seemed to really enjoy her Lamb Chops as well and it seemed to be a generous portion and cooked well. We ended our evening with some creme brulee for dessert that was the perfect compliment to our meals. I had not seen many of my Yelp friends review this place but I thought it was delicious and our experience was top notch. I hope to return again sometime soon and delve deeper into the menu options and try something new. I highly recommend them after my visit so give them a try and let us know what you think. read more

This is my new favorite spot in Cambria. The food is really terrific. This trip I had the risotto which was ample and perfectly balanced and the flat iron steak which was seasoned perfectly. The staff were so incredible. Monique was our waitress and helped us pick a stunningly great wine. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly. Indigo moon My family has been coming to indigo moon for at least 24 years when my parents had their wedding reception here. Their food was unforgettable and every time we drove home I would talk about coming back here. I am 23 and even I can remember vividly after 15 years some of the best dishes I've ever had on their menu! The cheese they had to offer was the best I've ever had and we always took plenty of blocks to go. Plus, Jay has always been so amazing and welcoming to our family. Every time we came to Cambria we ate there 2-3 times at minimum in just a weekend. Times have changed, we may go once in a blue moon just to see if maybe things have turned around in the past few years. I waited 2 years to make this review as I thought maybe it was one or two bad experiences, but it just keeps getting worse. Indigo moon is not worth any of your time or money. Starting out, the hosts have not paid attention to reservations and been mean to us because we don't dress "nice" enough for their standards (which we have never had a problem with previously) When I have reminded them of our reservations, I was met with "oh well, that's not our fault." Next, the servers we have had every time ignore us. I had a server not come over for half an hour when we kept trying to get her attention on a slow night. I went to the host for help and she scoffed at me for asking anything of her and told me that wasn't her job. Third, the food tastes nothing like it used to, and is just bland and oily now. One of our all time favorites was their Mac and cheese. The kids in our family ate it and we took extras for leftovers at our house here for the weekend. It was always a hit but it is almost not edible now. We tried ordering take out to for a while to not deal with the service there and still support the business, but now we just don't eat there almost ever. Save your money and your time. read more

We had dinner at the Indigo Moon and I was sadly disappointed. I ordered my steak med. rare. The presentation was sadly undercooked ...raw, and so salty that I only ate a few bites. The fingerlings were also heavily salted, just boiled and thrown on the plate. The broccoli had so much garlic and salt it was barely edible. The waitress offered to get another plate started. By that time my confidence in the kitchen had gone cold. Not sure what's happened to our restaurants in Cambria? We had another great experience In Cambria, Indigo Moon delivers on great service and food. The lobster bisque was deeply flavored but not overly rich -just right. The goat cheese tart a delicious appetizer. We all ordered steak and lamb. Rack was delicious as was the accompanying berry-demi reduction sauce. It was a full rack. Two of us ordered the filet mignon with peppercorn demi. Well executed. The sirloin steak, tender and flavorful. Mashed potatoes excellent. All the portions were on the large side. The service was exceptionally delivered by Stacie. She made the evening! I highly recommend Indigo Moon for its food quality and execution, it's excellent and friendly service - all at a fare that harkens pre-covid days. We visited Cambria for my birthday and came to Indigo Moon for my birthday dinner. Everything was incredible from the service to the food to the ambiance. Our server was super sweet, friendly and attentive. We had our 6 month old with us and the staff were all accommodating and kind. The food was so delicious. For appetizers we had the fig, olive, and brie crostini, and a garden salad. The crostini was the perfect combination of flavors. For our mains my husband had the filet and I had the rack of lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked and so delicious. The polenta was especially yummy. My husband loved his filet and was a big fan of the mashed potatoes. The portions were also quite large. TL;DR Prepare yourself for an essay of a review (I didn't expect for it to be this long, but here we are...) I have not been back to Indigo Moon in almost seven years, and I knew that I had to return when back in Cambria for their famous pistachio-crusted goat cheese salad. I made reservations for 4:30PM on Sunday (opening time), and we arrived early to be first to get seated in the indoor patio-- within an hour, the place was full! I would definitely recommend making reservations if you're dining in. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu/specials of the day. Despite the slight mix-up of forgetting the goat cheese salad, she was quick to get them right over to us. Excellent service, despite the dinner rush hour-- A+ in my book! Besides getting half orders of the goat cheese salad, we ordered crab cakes for starters, along with pork osso buco and rack of lamb. Also got a glass of San Simeon Syrah and a glass of Madeleine Cabernet: I preferred the latter, as it was smooth and light, which complemented the red meats very well. The San Simeon was mild, but was too plain for my taste. Crab cakes were delicious, just as I'd remembered them the last time I got them: a light, crispy outer shell and a tender, flaky interior. The chili-lime sauce was more lime than chili (I barely tasted the heat), but it complemented the crab cakes. Pork osso buco was just-okay: it was a bit too dry for me, but I did appreciate the red wine that brought richness to the dish. It wasn't my dish, so I only had a bite-- however, I was informed that the center towards the bone was lukewarm, which was assumed that it'd been frozen, then reheated not long enough, before being served. A bit disappointing, but not terrible. I really enjoyed my rack of lamb: it was seven small pieces, cooked medium-rare, and absolutely perfect. It was everything you wanted in lamb: tender, juicy, meaty, and not overly gamey. The asparagus and polenta were a nice touch, too. A must-have at Indigo Moon. Only got the half portion of the pistachio-crust goat cheese salad this time, but still as flavorful as I'd remembered. Goat cheese was creamy and warm, and the pistachio and herbs made it such a unique taste to savor. The toasted nuts were delicious and added texture, and the grapefruit provided a perky acidity to the baby greens. Definitely recommended if you're vegetarian, or want something a bit lighter for dinner. As if I wasn't already at my stomach's limit, I ordered a key lime pie to round off two hours of feasting and drinking. The pie was bursting with tanginess (as a good key lime pie should be) and the sweet fruitiness brought a refreshing change from the heavy, savory foods I had earlier. My only wish was that I would've loved a bit more crust, but that's just me being picky (I'm a crust gal). Would recommend the key lime pie for dessert! The splurge ($177, including tip) was worth it. While not all of the dishes were perfectly-executed, it was the food quality, the service, and the ambiance that made the night so memorable. If I would recommend the perfect meal (based on what I had that night), it would be the crab cakes for starters, rack of lamb (and/or pistachio-crusted goat cheese salad), and key lime pie-- all paired with the Madeleine Cabernet. I have been coming to Indigo Moon for nearly eight years, and this won't be the last time! read more

First time coming here for dinner, lovely little restaurant with a really cozy feel to it. I think it's an old converted and added on house with lots of charm. There are several dining rooms which is kind of interesting, I like that set up because felt a little more quaint and not as loud as it otherwise could have been. Food selection is really good, steaks, chicken and seafood as well as a vegetarian option. I ordered the quinoa bowl and it was good, but extremely salty. It's a good thing I needed the extra salt, but not sure everyone else will feel the same way. My family ordered the peppercorn steak which was divine! We also had an order of the calamari and a pasta dish that all looked great, mine was a little small I thought compared to everyone else's, especially for just being quinoa and some mushrooms and sweet potato pieces...for the price of mine, I'd expect maybe some greens underneath or maybe tofu, just my opinion. I'd come back though and have that steak for sure, can't go wrong if you like a good filet. Great place overall and the food seemed very fresh and otherwise pretty tasty. read more

The only good thing about this place was the service and ambiance. We got free Bread & butter, then as a starter we had their blue crab cakes. Those were pretty good but were too fishy. We got the ribeye steak, rack of lamb, and their salmon. The salmon was way too salty, the steak was overcooked and was not tender at all, and the rack of lamb had no flavor. I would definitely not come here again if you're looking for a delicious dinner, but I would try going here with friends to drink wine since they have a wine selection. read more

The lobster bisque was so buttery and creamy .... mmm it was so freakin' delicious. It warmed my belly and I was optimistic for what was to come next. The Brie, Olive, & Fig salad (they called it something else on the menu) was WOW-I-can't-believe-this-is-so- good kind of good. I didn't expect it to surprise me. I don't usually like olives, but the fig and the brie just made it edible. The main dishes were not as impressive as the appetizers, but they were tasty too. The fish and chips were alright, nice crisp on the outside, tender inside. The french fries were crispy as they should be, I have no complaints. The Salmon Tacos were alright, but a little disappointing. They marinated the salmon too much that I couldn't taste the salmon flavor, and the shredded cabbage was way. too. much. I like the mangoes a lot, but it wasn't enough to help the dish. Overall that was a pretty good COVID takeout meal. I'd like to try different entrees next time. read more

Surprisingly uneven. The seafood entrees, salmon and scallops, were good but the pasta was disappointing- especially the fettuccine (shrimp with tails left on and broth-thin sauce). For dessert, the chocolate tower was excellent but the apple and cherry crisp was terrible- dry and overcooked. The food here is fantastic. We came for dinner with our two young kids. Everything that came to our table was delicious, we were so impressed (minus one exception noted below). Kid dishes are huge! Great mac n cheese, and grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli were excellent. My son even said, "this is the best broccoli Ive ever had!" I ordered the pecan crusted halibut with a lemon cream sauce and wild rice - I haven't had something that tasty in a very long time. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The only ding to our experience was the fettuccine with shrimp. The white wine in the sauce was not cooked off and extremely strong. My husband has been sober for nine years and it actually made us a bit nervous. But the shrimp and pasta were cooked well. We mentioned the alcohol flavor to our server who shared that many customers make the same comment and she has expressed this to the chef. I hope in the near future, a simple adjustment can be made so this dish is just as superb as the rest of the food coming out of the kitchen. Would have given 5 stars if this dish was a bit better. A lot matters when you eat out. The food, the ambience, the value, the service. And the restaurant business is tough in any economy, so I'm reluctantly giving this review. I like to try a food establishment a couple of times before crossing it off my list, so maybe I'll try a lunch sometime, if they open for lunch. Food is most important and we were disappointed. The quality of the ingredients were superior but the "sauces" were bland, absolutely no flavor. I chose the entree; duck with a blackberry sauce, the color was right but the taste didn't have any flavor. My husband chose the scallops with a lime sauce. The scallops were salty and the sauce? Again no taste. Both of our entrees were plated with a rice dish & vegetables (broccoli). The broccoli was the best thing on the plate. Our waitress, while Sweet was oppressively cheery and said "Cheers" a half dozen times at least. We wondered if we were being infantilized because we're seniors. A very disappointing evening. Our first time visiting Indigo Moon. We picked this restaurant because they allowed pets in the patio area. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm and it was chilly outside. The restaurant however, has a beautiful covered heated patio and they allowed us to sit there with our pet. Big plus for us. The food was fabulous. My sister and I shared the pear Gorgonzola salad, delicious and definitely recommend it. I ordered the salmon with basil butter, wild rice and broccoli, delicious and highly recommend it. My sister ordered the pork chop and it was equally delicious. Don't miss out on this hidden gem and pets are always welcomed. read more

Dined here for the first time the other night and was impressed with how pretty the place was and how friendly the staff was. I had the crab appetizer and my friend had the lobster bisque. I liked mine and she did not like hers because it tasted more like tomato soup. However, the fish and chips dish we split was fantastic! So was the Albarino wine we had with dinner. Our server Dakota was informative about the dishes and attentive. The creme brûlée's with vanilla ice cream was a perfect ending to our meal. This is one of our go-tos in Cambria. There's a wide variety of options on the menu: salmon tacos, great burger, fish n chips, good pastas, plus seafood, steaks (flat iron is killer!), lamb, even duck. Good salad and app options too. Pleasant servers, reasonable prices, beer and wine (no bar.) once in a while, things come out of the kitchen a little spicier than you might expect, so worth asking about. My main criticism is that it takes a long time for the food to come out. This seems to be really common in the post,-pandemic, world still, unfortunately. Just be prepared for that. read more

Highly recommend! The filet mignon and creamy chicken sausage penne pasta dish were both superb!

Phenomenal. They accommodated our larger party with no issues. The food and service were excellent. There were also portable heaters for what seemed like an enclosed patio we were seated in.
