Ordered the Country Breakfast, two eggs, two fresh biscuits (cut in half), country gravy (I asked on the side) three trips of bacon, small fresh fruit cup and a small portion of Olallieberry preserve. Very good cooked to perfection. Was nice to have the preserve on the naked biscuit. A little pricey for breakfast but you have to treat yourself once in awhile. No regrets. My girlfriend and I were out spending the day enjoying the moonstone beach when we became hungry. So we decided to give Linn's a try and glad we did. It's a big place and lots going on so it did take a little bit until the sever came and seen us. But all good things are worth the wait. I got the special a flat iron steak with an amazing sauce mashed potatoes and fresh broccolini it was delicious. My girlfriend had the berry chicken which was amazing. You can tell the fresh wholesome ingredients and care that is actually put in to the food. Our meal was so delicious we decided to return the next morning for breakfast which was just as good as my dinner. Came to Linn's for lunch without a reservation on a Monday. We were told the wait would be short but ended up waiting at least half an hour. The ambiance is nice inside. We tried the pasilla burger and the tri-tip sandwich. The pasilla burger was pretty good, but I did not enjoy the sandwich. It was lacking flavor and the sauce that was given to dip it in was even more flavorless than the sandwich. The server was friendly and attentive. We also tried the olallieberry pie and enjoyed that. If we were to revisit, I would definitely try a different entree. All of the desserts/pies looked great. read more

After visiting the Hearst castle my husband and I decided to try this restaurant. The decor in the dining room was warm and inviting. Our server was prompt. Once we were seated we were constantly swatting flies. Patrons near us were doing the same. Owners really need to address the fly problem. I ordered the club sandwich, fries and Olallieberry slaw with lemonade. Food was delicious!!! Husband got the Hearst Grass fed burger/ fries which he enjoyed along with the Olallieberry pie. The pie was unusual ... tasted like berry jam from a jar between two thin crusts. Our server did a great job. We were not offered a refill on our lemonade . They had a small gift shop as part of the restaurant. After spending 70 dollars on lunch I was waiting to purchase a box of tea. The manager and another man came up to the register. I know it was the manager as he shows his picture in the " About the Business" section. They both made fun of my southern accent. Not worth going into details about what they said to me but I was offended. If management reads this I would recommend keeping your thoughts to yourself. Overall food and service was good. We came here for dinner and it was so good, we came back for breakfast the next day! They had me hooked with the olallieberry spread and bread. I had the berry chicken entree and it was like a thanksgiving dinner. For breakfast, pancakes with olallieberry syrup was amazing. My bf said the corned beef hash was the best he's ever had. Second time at Linn's. This time had the Olallieberry Burger. What a great combination of flavors: savory burger, salty bacon, sweet/tangy olallieberry compote, nutty arugula. Loved this burger and would order again. The fries were meh .... a little too crispy and overdone. My boyfriend had the Pasilla-Pepper Jack burger which he enjoyed. Hes not much of a foodie and prefers more of a traditional burger. Lunch was capped off with the Olallieberry cheesecake. Nice low profile classic cheesecake with olallieberry sauce drizzled on top. Delicious! Though we were told the wait time would be 30-40 minutes, I believe we only waited about 20. Food came out quick and the service was really good. We were seated right away for brunch on a Monday. Our waiter, Fernando, was exceptionally kind and attentive! I had the Mr. Potato stack. The gluten free option was a slight up charge, but I did get a gluten free Olallieberry muffin for the extra cost. It was very moist and served warm! The line was long but moved quickly, which was a good sign. I ordered the lemon meringue pie, and my husband went with the olallieberry cream cake--apparently their specialty! I had never heard of olallieberry before, but it seems to be their thing. A slice of cake was $11, which felt a bit pricey given the casual vibe of the place, but once we tried our desserts later that day, they were so worth it. Absolutely delicious. It was easy to get a parking spot behind the restaurant and snag a table right away on a Friday at lunch. I really wanted to try the clam chowder and several tables were ordering cups as well, so this is clearly a popular dish! It was so good. We opted for the beef and chèvre salad and the fried chicken sandwich. The salad was beautiful and came with an ollalieberry dressing. However, it had barely any chèvre. We had high hopes for Linn's given the other rave reviews. Sadly it was quite a disappointment. Starting with the positive points: The staff was very friendly and efficient. As other reviews have noted, the owner was out on the floor making things happen. The decor was pleasant with a multitude of bikes decorating the walls. The menu seemed interesting for breakfast with a decent selection offered. We each opted for a breakfast that included a scone or muffin. That's where the good things ended. The baked goods arrived first. Both our muffin and scone lacked flavor and texture, tasting much like premade mix. The lemon filling was no better. The rest of the breakfast was equally not great. The potato cakes also seemed preprocessed and lacked any flavor. The coffee was good. We had planned to buy pie or a bakery treat for later but instead skipped it. Normally I would attribute these things to a bad day, but not in this case. read more

We visited two times during a Cambria getaway. The bicycle decor is cute. What we really noticed was the EXCELLENT SERVICE. We didn't know about the 4-5 pm break in dining room service. Arrived at 4:50. A sign in sheet would be a good idea, but 10-15 people were seated immediately at 5. Our smiling server took our order and the food came quickly, piping hot on a cold day. Really hit the spot !! A supervisor walked the dining room checking on things, really paid attention. Loved the polenta, beef stroganoff, clam chowder. Another day enjoyed breakfast. Hot, fresh, all good. Biscuits & gravy were especially good. Suggestion - less merchandise in the entry/ lobby & add a couple benches to wait. There's just a little 2 seater. Another gem of Cambria. I've been stopping at Linn's for years now and never disappointed and never anything expect full and happy after visiting. My go to's are the ollalieberry lemonade, charcuterie plate, clam chowder, ollalieberry burger and of course the ollalieberry pie. Some others we've tried are the steak salad, grilled chicken sandwich, and crab louis salad. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. We came here for lunch while walking the shops of Cambria. The place was packed but we managed to get the only available table. You have to walk through their gift shop/bakery to get to the restaurant area but it was so crammed with people it was like walking through a mosh pit of senior citizens. Our server was quite pleasant and took adequate care of us despite being so busy. I ordered a BLTA (bacon, tomato, lettuce, avocado sandwich), which seemed like a safe choice, plus a berry iced tea to drink. The berry iced tea was fine but I'd probably just order a normal iced tea if I ever came back. The sandwich was pretty good especially the thick, smokey bacon. The lettuce and tomato were both fresh. The toasted bread was rather flimsy though and was disintegrating halfway through eating it; very messy. The accompanying fries were excellent. The busser and waitress did make me feel a bit rushed as they were obviously trying to turn the tables over as quickly as possible (ie - grabbing our plates the moment the last bite was taken, presenting the bill way before we finished eating). The staff were awesome. I purchased some to bring home. I purchased 2 take and mini take n bake pies. On my vacation I forgot to put them into the freezer only the refrigerator so they defrosted then took a 5 hour ride before they went to the freezer. When I finally made the pies I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled the crust on the pie Amazing. It tasted just like a homemade pie. Good service and the food was great. My wife and adult daughter shared a quiche and calamari which they both kept talking about how good the quiche was. Younger daughter had a pasta plate and was happy. I had the seafood combo fish and chips and couldn't finish it all. I had to take some to go. Comfort food at its finest is what you'll get at Linn's. Ordered a bowl of clam chowder and garden salad. Chowda was loaded with clams and the salad was fresh with a tasty blue cheese dressing. We went here for Thanksgiving dinner with friends that live in Nipomo. The food was great. Large portions and perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. Our server was also wonderful. Food was served quickly and our server followed up and made sure everyone was happy with their meals. As usual the pies were perfect. We've been coming here for a long time as we are part time residents. Aaron and the staff always provide great service and are always accommodating. If you go to the Farmers market on Fridays, they have a bbq set up. You can't go wrong with the price and the food. $20 gets you either ribs, Tri tip, or bbq chicken with a side and some chili. read more

No greeting, just are you ready to order, very unprofessional, rushed us with ordering even though not busy. Did not describe any of our orders. It really ruined a good dining experience. Hubby and I have been vacationing in Cambria for 35 years; literally half of my life. We always have breakfast at Linn's Restaurant on Main Street even though the hotels always provide something of a breakfast. We were delighted to be in Maida's section this morning. Maida has been working at Linn's for 18 years! I remember her waiting on us during the pandemic when food was served not in the dining room but in the parking lot. I remember when Maida was recovering from an injury and was on limited duty. She couldn't' wait tables so this family restaurant had her working in the office until she could return to full-duty. That's the business one wants to support. I had French Toast at a different restaurant yesterday and was disappointed. Maida assured me today that I would like their French Toast. She was right. An approach I've never seen before and it worked: sourdough baguette. (See photos.) I chose to have Olalliberry syrup rather than maple syrup. Lots of flavor but very sweet. No problem, the four slices of crispy bacon balanced the sweetness of the Olalliberry syrup. Hubby LOVED his Biscuits and Gravy with sausage patties and fruit. He gave me a bite. I am not a Biscuits and Gravy person but it was so good, I might have that later this week; it was that good. We had breakfast here the next two mornings; and remember that we could have had free breakfast at our hotel but what fun is eating in your room? This is the ONLY restaurant, in our experience, that hasn't changed over the years. Las Cambritas let us down last visit and this. Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill let us down this year when we found a twisted piece of wire in our fried calamari. We loved Cambria Mimosas last visit; this year, we found it to be "meh." But Linn's continues to offer very good food and very good service at fair prices. If you are visiting Cambria, Linn's on Main Street is THE best breakfast choice. I promise. read more

We were in Northern California visiting Hearst Castle for the Memorial Day weekend and stayed in Cambria for a few days. It was quite a lovely town. We decided to dine at Linn's of Cambria for Memorial Day. The day before, we had gone to check out the desserts, and what delectable sights to see! We decided to try the bread pudding, truly sensationally enjoyable, along with slices of luscious classic apple pie and lemon coconut cake. That evening, we arrived at Linn's of Cambria restaurant. There was a 25-minute wait, but for a great place like this, it was totally understandable. We were greeted and seated. Jason was our waiter for the evening, and he made great recommendations. We started with the clam chowder, which was on point! Truly, this is the best clam chowder I've had in a long time. They also offered sourdough bread while we waited for the main course, and it was nicely warm. In addition, it was accompanied by Linn's olallieberry jelly, which was a joy! (We had to get some to take home and did!) Truly tremendous. For dinner, we had the stroganoff, which was mouthwatering and succulent. I had the California sand dabs, heavenly, flavorful. The potatoes were awesomely delicious, with a luscious cream sauce. The ginger carrots were yummy! Overall, Linn's of Cambria is a great place to dine if you're visiting Cambria.
