The server was so nice letting us test the wine before we ordered a bottle of their fantastic Paso Robles Cabernet! My fish and chips were delicious with a very thin crispy crust. My friend loved her salad! The ocean views are amazing! The wait was short for a busy Saturday night and we drank our wine slowly and really had a great time.

Stayed at the cavalier oceanfront resort for the weekend and tried out their restaurant for dinner and breakfast! No wait time got seated pretty quick and the food was good too and they have a variety of food options. I do not recommend the fresh cinnamon toast though it tasted burnt. Chipotle pasta was also like a 5/10, too saucy. I loved the french toast so so gooood. The drinks are also not as good but are drinkable lol. But its worth a visit if your staying nearby!

The food was delicious and they provide a great service, big portions at good price. Very clean and with partial view from the ocean. Right next to the hotel makes it very convenient.

We are staying at the Cavalier resort and walked over for breakfast. Lots of glass and views. Staff friendly and attentive. Coffee was luke warm and not very tasty. Come on. Is it that hard to have good coffee? I had eggs and a sirloin patty. it came with toast and I had hash browns. Delicious!!! The wife had eggs and bacon with hash browns and toast. Nice way to start the day. The views are awesome.

The last morning of our trip, we decided to stick to a simple diner experience that was close enough to the ocean that it kind of had a view. I appreciated the down to earth atmosphere and it was honestly the most affordable meal we had the whole time we were in town. It's slightly better than basic diner food as my eggs Benedict held their own and are not usually at most diners. My spouse had the breakfast sandwich and enjoyed his food as well. This is the part where I say something to the effect of "so good I forgot to take pictures." We did enjoy the meal, but the real reason I didn't take pictures is because I was tired and hungry. The service was prompt and friendly as well. Tl;dr: Better than average food but not mind blowing, and pretty good prices. Also a slight ocean view.

Grilled Salmon Salad, Chicken Strips and fries, Fish and Chips

Our first time here. We were greeted by staff and they were very friendly. We came here during lunch hour, so everything we ordered is from the lunch menu. We ordered the chicken strips and fries (kids menu), fish and chips, charcuterie plate, and grilled salmon salad. Chicken strips were on the salty side. Even though we got this for our picky toddler, I still taste everything. The fries were regular crinkle cut fries which you can't go wrong with. The fish in the fish and chips were very bland and oily, but crispy. The fries were also regular crinkle cut fries. I did like the coleslaw and the tartar sauce. The grilled salmon salad was mediocre. Nothing special about this dish. The charcuterie plate came out a little later. Unfortunately the charcuterie plate wasn't good at all. The bread was very stale. And the salami was already going spoiled. I do not recommend this dish at all. I don't think they push this out much and that's why items on that plate were spoiled. Thankfully, the waitress took it off the bill. I did not take a picture of it because we sent it back right away. Overall, we won't be coming back.

A great location next to hotels and ocean. The staff was very friendly. I had a burger with pulled pork on a charcoal bun. Bun just tasted like a regular bun. Friend got a salmon burger. All our food was so good.

The Cavelier's menu has many desirable items on their menu. We started with the appetizer and the entree. This included the Charcuterie plate, braised beef, beef stroganoff, and fish 'm chips. The braised beef ($38) was delicious while the stroganoff ($30) and fish ($22) were ok but was under whelming. The server seemed to question our decisuon not to have soup or salad or a cocktail. I got the impression other paeties may tend to go for the full course. The water fillers were very attentive and polite. They were students working a job. The feed back iss for the multtiple water fillers limit the amount of water glass contact to minize a hygene risk. My disappointment started with the appetizer and didn't improve during the meal. The description of the Charcuterie plate ($19) sounded very appealing, but it was not worth it. There was too much substitution of cheaper products for olives, Crostini, nuts (which were slvered almonds) which deflated the enjoyment from this plate.

This is a wonderful restaurant, and features coastal views. The staff is friendly and efficient. We always look forward to going there, and we enjoy the specials they offer. The food is great and the desserts are especially good. The lemon chicken orzo soup was also delicious. Definitely recommend.

The description is panoramic views and they is not exactly true but you do get a nice slice of the ocean view. Fish and chips were good. Clam chowder was the star. The seafood linguine had a few shrimp and mussels could have used a lot more. Mai tai was strong and needed more flavor. Desserts are from French Corner Bakery which is a plus. The cream brule and lemon tart are amazing. Carrot cake and black forest are good. Free Parking which is a plus. They close at 9. Service was good. An easy place to dine after a hard day beachcombing.

First, the value is excellent. My husband and I both ate for about $45 total, which is impressive considering Cambria is such a popular tourist destination. The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant itself has a fresh, inviting atmosphere, and the patio is beautiful. If the weather allows, I definitely recommend sitting outside. We ordered the Two Egg Breakfast and the Monterey Scramble. The Two Egg Breakfast was exactly what you'd want from a classic breakfast: simple, fresh, and well executed. The Monterey Scramble, however, completely stole the show. Let's start with the salsa. It was absolutely delicious. As someone who's Mexican, I tend to judge a breakfast place by its salsa because if the basics are done well, the rest of the meal usually follows. They nailed it. The pico de gallo was also fresh and flavorful and paired perfectly with the scramble. Overall, this is one of the most underrated restaurants in Cambria. I'm honestly surprised it doesn't get recommended more often, both by locals and online. If you're visiting the area, don't overlook this place. It's absolutely worth a stop.

Our server easily named several of her favorite dishes, and we happily took her recommendations. The beet salad she recommended was excellent, and the olallieberry vinaigrette made such a big difference in the burst of taste. On our way out, we bought three pies, including a mini olallieberry pie, preserves, vinaigrette, and more from the attached shop. What a great idea to have a shop with the restaurant. Everyone was…read moreincredibly welcoming, and I'm writing this from a place of appreciation because I genuinely wanted to love the food as much as everything else. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. I had heard so many great things about this restaurant, so I left feeling a little disappointed that it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. My husband and I ordered the calamari, Caesar salad, linguini, and wild-caught salmon. The calamari was good, but the oversized plate made the portion look much smaller than it actually was... almost like leftovers. It's a minor detail, but serving it on a smaller plate would make it much more visually appealing. The Caesar salad was decent, although I wasn't expecting the tortilla chips. It was a unique touch, but I personally think the salad would benefit from sticking closer to a more traditional Caesar recipe. For our entrées, the linguini was much too watery, and most of the shrimp hadn't been deveined, which noticeably affected the overall experience. Given the price, I expected a higher level of attention to detail. In Southern California, shrimp linguini typically ranges from about $18-25 at casual restaurants, $26-32 at mid-range establishments, and $33-45+ at upscale restaurants. At around $35, I expected fresh, well-executed pasta, a balanced sauce, and properly prepared shrimp. I don't mind paying premium prices for a great meal, but in this case, the quality simply didn't reflect the price point. The wild-caught salmon had good flavor, but it was unfortunately overcooked. The presentation also left us a bit confused. It was served on a wooden board placed on top of a large ceramic plate, and neither my husband nor I could quite figure out the purpose of the extra board. We actually found ourselves giggling a little because we kept looking at it wondering, "Why is there a board on a plate?" I think the dish would have looked cleaner and more elegant served directly on the plate. The oversized plate, combined with the board and the vegetables arranged around it, made the presentation feel busier than it needed to be. Sometimes, less really is more. Overall, I truly enjoyed the ambiance and the excellent service, and I appreciate the effort that goes into creating such a welcoming experience. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit it's intended because I'd love to see the food match the outstanding hospitality. Despite my experience, I would absolutely give Linn's another chance. The atmosphere and service alone make it worth returning, and next time I'd love to try the breakfast menu, which I've heard wonderful things about. I'm hopeful my next visit will better reflect the reputation this restaurant has earned. :)
