I've been getting my nails and toes done at this salon for a year (I'm over $1000 deep here). On the 28th, I got a pedicure and they sold me a manicure at the same time, but it took almost three hours. I asked the nail technician to keep my nails long and natural, but she cut them short and square. While working on my cuticles, she made me bleed deeply and didn't offer any first aid. I had to stop and clean the blood off my own fingernail so she could continue. After painting, she filed them more, removing polish from the sides, leaving bare spots, and making my natural nails coffin-shaped instead of square, even though I didn't want any shaping. This definitely undid the durability and the raw edges caused the polish to peel off quickly. The prep was poor and my nails were chipping and peeling off in sheets 2 days after the mani. I know they do repairs within 3 days or something like that but they're closed Sundays and I work crazy hours. My friends suggested getting a refund, but I didn't want to cause trouble, as I've had good experiences before. I left disappointed but I gave them another chance. Yesterday, I returned for a new manicure because the last polish peeled off within a week. I asked her to keep the same shape, no shorter, to allow them to grow after the previous cut. However, she made them even shorter and round. She watched videos on her phone with AirPods the entire time and didn't paint very well. When I pointed it out, the nail polish was still bumpy, thin, or missing in spots, she claimed the missing spots were my skin. She left fuzz and dust on my nails, I was trying to pick it out during the appointment because she wasn't getting it, but I couldn't get it all, there's even a hair polished into one finger you can see in a photo. Not too happy with the uneven, bumpy, rough, and pooled polish on completely filed down nails. To make it worse, I chose cat-eye polish, but she didn't even do the cat-eye effect because "my nails are too short" which they weren't before I came!

My Christmas nails turned out great! Kathy is an amazing nail tech and artist!

Kathy and her crew never disappoint! Every trip to Seattle I make sure to stop in for a pedicure and mani. In December I asked Kathy to surprise me and do anything she wanted... she came up with the cutest Christmas theme nails ever! The penguins were my fave.

Kathy is the best. She fixed my poorly done nails from another salon and did a beautiful job. Prices are fair and worth every penny. This is my new studio!

Dropped in on a Saturday (I'm a terrible person, I know) and was squeezed in. My expectations were not just met, they were exceeded! I highly recommend this salon, but make an appointment. They are VERY busy. I could tell that they were in high demand and even though they were very gracious, I was an inconvenience. I will be back and I will be making appointments from now on!

Came in for a manicure, looking for the cat eye effect. While the shade was more goldish than I anticipated, that's on me. Next time I'd like to try a more dusty rose or pearlescent white.

Collagen pedicure, was amazing I felt so pampered. I also got an ombré full acrylic set. The nail tech was having equipment difficulties(dead battery in airbrush machine), so it took a little longer, but I was happy to wait in the massage chair. I was not impressed the girl doing my nails made me bleed, and seemed to be unaware until I pointed it out. Over all though it was a pleasant experience. Friendly staff were very welcoming and kind.

Kathy is so amazing she is very detailed in her work. She has really good taste to so she helps me out with picking my style.

THE WORST NAIL SHOP YOU WILL EVER VISIT . Very unpleasant experience I come to the nail shop to relax they did my hand and feet in the massage chair at the same time, which had me twist and turned very uncomfortably BUT wait it gets better ! She's asking my all kind of questions I take it that she's the main lady so I constantly hear here reiterating what I told her and it sounded a bit odd so I used my Google communication translator to get real time translate and she's telling her coworkers that she doesn't think I want to pay because my boyfriend is standing outside so after I immediately I see that I give her my card and she responds " your boyfriend tell you to pay like no I know what you guys are saying but I kept that part to myself. WAIT there is more. So they are still going on in their Vietnamese language she proceeds to say That my boyfriend is renting me ! Because he was paying for my nails omgeee it really hurt my feelings because that's such a rude thing to assume at this point I'm shook and just want to leave They also overcharge me Used boiling kettle water to warm up my pedicure water once I complained she filled it up with cold water like why would I want a spa pedicure with cold water ! And it doesn't end there I payed for GEL and they gave me shellac which peeled off the next day !.. I never had anything but Gell because of its prolonged wear . But they game me something I didn't want and charged me for removal honestly I've never paid for removal if I was buying service. 5$ for each foot ! And 15$ for my hands just to remove ! I was flabbergasted! I told her over and over I want gel NOT shellac & she did what she wanted anyway ! they lie , talk about you in your face , overcharge & do not give you the service you come to pay for . 10/10 on everything. First of all They had limited staff because of snow and people out but Kathy who manages it was so easy to communicate to and even called me when she had an earlier time spot which I needed. She did my dip set with rhinestones which was AMAZING. She's a true expert and knows how to communicate with the client and also deliver exactly what I wanted. So efficient and the nicest person. I will be back!!

Have gotten my nails done here three times so far and I always love them!! Kathy always does such a good job:)

Kathy always does an amazing job! I always come here to get my nails done these are my favorite sets so far. She can do any length nail you want. I thought it might be harder to do shorter nails but she did great!

This is my new northgate nail place! First off, there was no crowd when I walked in on a weekend. Though they were decently busy (no business is a bad sign) they were able to fit me in for a walk- in pedicure almost immediately. The service was great! I had a really kind lady who asked my preferences and gave me the best service. She was both professional and kind. Most importantly, they were extremely clean. They used liners in their pedicure beds which, while expensive, help protect against other people's foot infections. They also cleaned all their tools. The pedicure itself was amazing. It included a parrafin treatment, warm stone massage and hot towel afterwards. The polish was well done with both top and bottom coat and the massage chair was an added bonus. Overall, a great experience - I will definitely be back. The only downside is they didn't have as many non gel colors as I hoped for which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.

Kathy is the sweetest lady and her service is amazing! This is going to be my regular go to spot for my nails! Great quality and they last long. She also did my eyebrows and they look great!

Absolutely blown away by the service here! They were so kind and did a phenomenal job on my nails! The inside was very clean along with the tools they were using. Upon entering I was asked to sanitize my hands and log in which I appreciated, on top of this the social distance guidelines were followed. Don't go here for shellac. I've gone here three times for convenience; every time my shellac nails last 4-6 days. Fully peeled off due to the lifting of the shellac. Also slightly lumpy. Not very well job done. everywhere else last a full 2 weeks or more. Getting nails done adds up. I recommend to get your moneys worth elsewhere. read more

I've been seeing cool chrome nails going around a lot on social media and so my sister told me about this place. I had already set an appointment for myself and my sister only wanted to tag along. They have a small selection of different chrome colors at the moment, however, large varieties of mood changing colors (both chrome and mood changing colors are shellac). The whole time while I was getting my nails done, the employees keep talking about my sister (in Vietnamese) of why she didn't want to get her nails done and whenever they talk to her, they would try to get her to change her mind although my sister kept refusing. I got myself a full set of acrylic with chrome which was a total cost for about $48. I originally wanted an accent nail on my ring finger where the rest of the nails were chrome while my ring finger is a sparkly gold but the lady that worked on my nail just gave me all chrome nails. I really appreciated how she measure each finger to make sure both nails were even and kept checking with me of the shape I'm satisfied with, however, the outcome paint job was a bit too thick for my taste. The chrome color came out beautifully but I probably would only come to this place if I feel like having chrome color nails again. read more

I walked in for a eyebrow wax. I was automatically told , "we don't have time ". He didn't even give me a specific waiting time nothing . Just shunned me away in front of 3 women getting their nails done . Bad customer service ! You are the reason why people don't like dealing with you fools . The owners clearly find this review 'funny'. How about fixing the way you speak to Americans ? You don't wanna be nice , you just want American money . Why are you in America if you can't treat all people equally ? Don't message me calling me a racist , Clearly you refused service for no apparent reason . Check yourself ! Lol read more

I wanted chrome nails for my birthday and stumbled upon this place through the internet. A friend of mine told me to book it with cathy. Cathy was really sweet and nice. She helped me look for the color i wanted and was very patient in doing so. I got a rose gold chrome color. The service was friendly, i cant wait to come back to try out different chromes! read more

Got my nails done here for the first time for my second time around. The first time I got a pedicure and it was pretty average. The lady who I believe is the owner is very sweet and kind! Unfortunately when I came in to get my fill and my normal sharp like pointy claws I was not satisfied at all. I mean I guess thts my fault for not going to my usual nail lady but whatev. Anyways, I wasn't satisfied with the shape at all. A couple nails were crooked and way too wide. I get the width of my nails pretty narrow and slim all the time, and trust me when I say I am very particular when it comes to my nails. I've spoken up to her a couple times but wasn't okay that all she thought tht would fix the problem was to file down the nails even more and make them a lot more sharpe and pointy when the whole time I was asking about the narrowness of the nail. Like I said, I guess thts what I get for not going to my usual nail lady! So yeah never again here. read more

This is hands down the best nail salon in Seattle for the price! I made a last-minute reservation for a pedicure and full-set and was greeted with welcoming faces! The place is light, clean, and a very comfortable but pleasant atmosphere. Priscilla did my pedicure and my full set. The pedicure was amazing! It felt great, and the massage chair is truly sensational. She was kind and knowledgeable and helped me decide on the dip powder with tips for my full set. These are the best nails I've had in a really long time! They're natural looking, sharp (how I like them) and just beautiful! Update: Came here to update my review after Judy left (to go to school). They raised prices by about $3, a fill is now $18. Absolutely make an appointment as I have waited about 20-30 mins with an appointment and seen people wait over an hour. Honestly, it's hit or miss with how good the shape of my nails turn out, coffin is hard to get even and it takes a while and lots of shaping by the techs to get it right. I've never worked with Kathy but she has always been nice to me as a customer. I go for fills every 2-3 weeks and always have to have a nail fixed. I'm careful with my nails, try not to be too hard on them and end up breaking 1-3 every single time. I got a full set and broke my ring finger nail within the first 5 days. A nail fix is $3. Would love to give 3.5 stars as their pedicures are always good. read more

My friend and I walked over from our hotel at 7:30 hoping to get pedicures and saw that they were closed. We were going to leave, but Kathy told us we could come in anyway and she and Van stayed late to take care of us! We got the deluxe pedicures which included a paraffin dip, hot stone massage, and a mask. It was fabulous and I will definitely be coming here next time I'm in town. read more

This location is absolutely wonderful! I got a gel fill from another place in the city a week ago, and my nails looked awful because they didn't do a good job. Creative Nails and Spa saved my nails and they were able to make me feel pretty again. From excellent customer service to a pristinely clean environment, this location has it ALL. Update: still 5 stars! I've been coming to Kathy ever since my wedding in April and I'm so glad I found her. I am always happy with the end product because she is so meticulous and will fix nails if they break (within 2 weeks) free of charge. I'm really loving the new chrome nail coating that goes over shellac. Original review: I came here to get my nails done for my wedding after reading all of the Stellar reviews. I had an appointment but had to wait a bit because they were so busy. I can see why they are so busy. Even though they are busy they don't rush. They do everything to perfection. I had a sea salt pedicure which was like the Rolls Royce of pedicures and it was amazing- it included a salt scrub, some sort of clay mask, a hot stone massage and even more massaging of some lotion/oil treatment at the end after the paraffin dip. At $45 that is well worth the 30 or so minutes of massaging during each of the scrub/mask/ massage steps. Kathy did an amazing job on my nails. I got a full set w shellac and a 3D appliqué and she checked at every step to make sure I liked everything and that the filing was perfect. read more

Love their attention to detail! I usually call ahead to get an idea of when I should pop in, and can usually get in right away or within a half hour and minimal wait time due to calling in first. The workers also speak really good english so I enjoy chatting and letting them know they are appreciated and hearing about their hobbies - it is nice for once to be able to do that. Their nail designs are stellar but I like just plain shellac as I am able to touch up or take care of that on my own at home. I do look forward to coming and getting something trendy soon :) I wish they wore name tags because everyone I have encountered is so sweet and hard working without seeming stressed or rushed. read more

Good atmosphere and nice people working there. After 1hr 30min work, I got my nail done for $46, and I love it. ! BUT MY NAIL IS Broken after one day ..... I may have to go fix... I would recommend making an appointment before you go. Since it was a Christmas season, they had really pretty interior decorations in the store. ! They take cards but prefer cash :) I would love to come back for my next nail. read more

It was dead in here on an overcast Saturday. Pedi was great but the shellac manicure was rushed. For a shellac mani and regular pedi it was $50- which I felt was a bit sneaky since I'd called ahead and was told it was $35. I wouldn't return, given my experience. read more

Kathy gave me a full set with gel polish and a design and it's awesome! She was so nice and did the design better than I coulda expected. She also let me know ahead of time the prices for everything so I wasn't unclear or anything, all together it was $42 + a tip. I'll be heading back to Creative Nails in a couple weeks for my fill & a new design! read more

Just got my nails done today and one of my fingers already lifted and peeled off whole. I wore gloves while washing dishes and didn't do anything today that was harsh on my nails. The lady doing my nails was so distracted while she was doing my nails and would pause to look at the lady doing my pedicure to have lengthy conversations while I just sat there. I've never had a shellac manicure that chipped the same day that I got it. The pedicure was on point though and the lady (I wish I knew her name) was great and paid great attention, even while talking to her fellow co-worker who was chatting away. She's the only reason why I'm giving this place two stars. I would NOT recommend going here read more

Im updating my review due to my recent visit yesterday. Kathy has been my nail lady for over 2-3years now. Theres no doubt she's talented and shes good at what she does. However since I am regular and she knows I will always come back to her no matter what, I feel like Ive been ignored A LOT and treated unfairly. Every time I come in and have a set appointment, I always end up waiting 30minutes- an hour ; it happens every single time. Yesterday, my appointment was at 3:30 and I was seated at 4:30. She even had another person start my full set when I asked for HER specifically. Second, I have specifically asked for long nails but I noticed that she just kept cutting them. I didnt want to make her to redo them so I didnt say anything. In addition , her next appointment was at 5 and the gal was already there. She started rushing with my nails and had another girl put the chrome powder, which I thought was not very well done. When I got home, I noticed the mistakes (unevenness) on my nails. Third, at check- out, I definitely paid more than I was expecting. Ive gotten a full set - with the same ombre effect before. I don't remember paying $40. I just wish I was informed about this price changes beforehand! I paid $50 for a FULL set WHICH is unacceptable and OVERPRICED. Overall, Ive been so understanding despite of having to wait hours, then be push aside so she can help other customers, and paying more than I anticipated to, without being informed in the beginning. Now, I am really starting to see the same pattern. I just wish theres more communication at their end and a little reduction on the price for the trouble, I always have to go through whenever I am here. Despite of all these disadvantages, I still see the good side. As I mentioned in the beginning , ITS TRUE! no nail lady can top Kathy , she always got my nails looking right as long she actually does the whole process without rushing. She makes my acrylic look so natural, which I LOVE. read more

Recently had acrylics done for my baby shower. Today, I went in for acrylic removal. As you can see shown in the picture, the nail tech f*cked up my left thumb nail. I've never had acrylics and experienced the pain of scrapping the artificial nail off - with a letter opener tool. She wasn't careful with my left thumb nail and punctured the nail bed where I bled as soon as it happened. It looked worse at the nail salon before she treated it and applied super glue. It takes one time for me and this will be the last time giving them business. read more

They are not great at respecting reservations. My sister and I made a reservation for 1pm, two mani and pedi. They take in all walk-ins while you wait to get service. I sat in my pedicure chair until 3:30pm waiting to get my mani. I finally left at 3:45pm. One of their employees is very unprofessional. Her conversations are inappropriate and her customer service is terrible. I gave them a chance. Tried to go back 3x before writing this review. read more

I was told to come in at 2:00 pm. There were 2 people there, one getting a pedicure and one getting a manicure. I was put in a chair with my feet in tepid water. I was told that the they would be with me shortly. After a half hour waiting with no one available to give me a pedicure I left. read more

Very upset with the service from this place. I waited 40 minutes to get my nails done before someone finally assisted me. I got the chrome nails and they were bubbly and all different shapes. As I put on my tip the worker that helped me looked at the tip I gave her and rolled her eyes and said " ok goodbye you're good and walked away. You should never respond to whatever a customer gives you for tip. What kind of customer service is this! Will tell others not to go here read more

My go-to spot for a pedicure and fill. But instead of getting red like I usually do, tried out some gold chrome instead and glad I made the switch! They all are sweet and take care of me. Van and Kathy are my favorite since they do a nice job shaping almond and stilleto nails which I'm very picky about. And they do free nail repair up to a week after! They do get busy and often seem booked. As for all nail salons, I suggest going during early weekday hours if you can for best service. From open-3 there's usually no wait list. They are also open on Sundays too since recently, so business must be doing well. read more

Is this place a best kept secret of Northgate? Location is prime with it being next to a yummy Indian restaurant, it has its own parking lot (although getting out can be tricky during high traffic times), the price is better than most nail salons, and the work quality and service is top notch. There was a little miscommunication. The silver chrome ring finger was exactly what I wanted. But I was hoping for a black with a silver chrome polish (saw a photo of a woman with them from these Yelp reviews and they looked badass). Anyway, by the time I realized she had me put my hands in that light majigger, we had different ideas of what I wanted. I imagined I would feel really disappointed and learn to live with it. But the more I stared at the simple black nails, especially with the chrome ring fingers, I was starting to love it. The young lady (I think she said her name was Van?) did an excellent job. She was precise with my nails and really thorough with my pedi. (She has really strong hands!). I really like this place and it relieves me to find a place like this in my neighborhood. For a $25 gel mani and $25 spa pedi, you'd miss out on something special if you didn't consider trying this place once. Oh and did I mention they open on Sundays?! read more

When I showed them a photo of what I wanted done they said okay and yhen cut my natural nails and when I told them that's not what I wanted they got bothered as well as they did some type of dip powder no color and not at all like the picture and since I pointed out it's not heat I wanted they then got upset again. There was 3 different girls working on my hands and toes so the shape also was not at all what I wanted. Very different on both hands. They then had to add a top to my nails since the lady cut them. Then when I requested square multiple times they kept rounding them and again I'd say something and they were upset. i was the last person to leave because they had to redo my whole nails I told them before they finished but they kept saying they knew what they were doing. And again the second time around bot at all what I asked for they definitely look like gum and thicker than my natural nails I have pretty petite and slim nail beds so the fact that they made them look wider it saddens me. Aside from that the did cut me multiple times and kept ignoring me I'm still bleeding from two spots. So anyways im never coming here again thanks.

Awesome acrylics done by Kathy! I have had acrylic nails for over 12 years now so I recognize when someone knows what they are doing. Kathy definitely knows her stuff. I recently stopped going to another nail salon (because the customer service was unforgivable) even though the actual services were good. Between my old place and Creative Nails, I had my nails filled at another salon and they came out atrocious. They had no shape, were thin because the acrylic was only added to the grow-out part of the nail, the polish job was horrible and I left with scratches all over my hands from the hasty job that was done. I felt lost and defeated; it's hard to find someone who does acrylic nails well in the North Seattle area. I had almost given up until reading reviews and seeing pictures of some of Kathy's work. I decided to give her a try. I took the advice of fellow Yelpers and made my first appointment at Creative Nails (which was on 1-14-16). I arrived a few minutes early and was helped soon after. I was welcomed by Kathy with the friendliest of smiles. I gave Kathy my sob story and recent acrylic nail service nightmares. She listened closely to what I preferred in a fill. I explained to her that my nails tend to grow upward so I liked to get them curved. She stated she could do a curved nail and stopped along the way while she filled the acrylic and shaped them to make sure that it is what I was looking for. It's like she read my mind...they came out perfect. I got an accent glitter nail but when she was applying the top/clear coat, a piece of glitter had transferred to one of my other nails. Without being asked, she willingly removed the nail polish off the entire nail and re-painted it (other places would just scratch the glitter off, fill the dent in with clear coat and try to smooth it out with their finger--which never works) and I really appreciated it. To top things off...I came back two days later (today) because I had gotten one of my nails stuck between the teeth of a fork (don't ask lol) and cracked the acrylic and scraped off some of the polish. Typically, I would just deal with it but since it was such a new set, I couldn't. I stopped in expecting to pay between $3-$7 for the repair but was informed by Kathy that she did not charge for a repair that was within 2 weeks of the service. During this time, I had the opportunity to get to know her a little better and realized that she truly is a sweetheart. I will continue to have my nails done at Creative Nails thanks to her. I have pictures of the amazing job she did but I can't figure out how to post them to the review. If someone could please guide me that would awesome. I hope this review was helpful :) read more

I love this place! I went to get my nails done at 7.30 pm not knowing their work hours. The lady said that she was closing but that she could make an exception and do my nails since I just wanted to get shellac. She did an amazing job! And the best part is that she only charged me $15! If you want to get an extra cuticle trim or hand massage you can get that for an additional $5 each, but since I was in a hurry and she was already way past her closing time, I skiped that but gave her a big tip! Also, if you mess up your nails in the next week or two, you can come in and get them fixed, for free! The other places I've been to charged me over $35 every time for the same thing. And what's awesome is that it's so close to my apartment!!! LOVE THIS SALON! read more

Kathy is the one who did my Nails n I am totally satisfied. Though I made an Appointment cuz I heard the place is so much busy most of the time but bcz of holiday there were only few customers. So she took probably 2 n half hours to get my Nails done. I got Acrylic Manicure n Shellac Pedicure,trust me they took all the time needed n did it professionally. I was traveling the very next day which I told Kathy n that's y she took extra care of my Nails trying to make sure those rhinestones don't fall. She heard every requirements I had n worked according to that. She n her husband including all the staffs were so helpful n very friendly.Definitely coming back after I return from Vacation. I completed my review yesterday and I forgot to mention something extremely discouraging and perhaps the worst part. THE LADY STOLE MY PHONE. That literally happened. When I asked for the $20 off from the $95 service, I asked to discuss a discount for the FOUR HOURS it took them to do my nails and toes. At that point, the manager literally took my phone from my hand and refused to return it until I paid the $95. NO ONE should ever violate someone like that, at any business. A friend recommended this place, so I went. I was so happy I took a pic and sent it to my husband "Now this is what I'm talking about!" He replied "WTH is that?"
