Today I had the cherry almond and the hubby had blueberry. You can sample the flavors before you commit to a flavor. I sampled the cold brew which is also tasty but I wanted fruity. Everything here is fresh and delicious. The waffle cones are made as you order. Ice cream flavors are seasonal with both traditional flavors and inventive ingredients. The colors are made using natural ingredients and there is often a dairy free option. A must visit. read more

Small ice cream shop tucked in the back of a bookstore. I got a scoop of Hood Strawberry and my friend got the mint straciatella. The strawberry ice cream was perfect, not too sweet, creamy and enough fresh strawberries to make this a treat. The mint was mild, fresh, and the chocolate flakes subtle. Cool little bookstore, coffee shop and ice cream parlor all in one. Ice creams were very good quality. I I especially loved the sour cream and strawberry flavor, super tangy and sharp. I almost think the strawberry could have been a more of a sweet jam swirled in, which would have contrasted with the sour cream better. Still, it was very tasty. The lemon meringue was bright and fresh, though I didn't really detect any taste of meringue. Overall, I would definitely go back here and sample more flavors. read more

I went for the vegan options. There were 2. Toasted coconut and strawberry coconut, so I tried strawberry. It was ok. It did taste a little old but there were fresh strawberries not flavored. The waffle cones weren't vegan which was a huge bummer. They didn't offer a vegan cone either. My husband enjoyed his Chocolate and Stuff which is why I didn't give this stop 3 stars. We were visiting the area, staying in a hotel nearby for two nights. The kids wanted ice cream and we found this place based on reviews. We ended up going back the second night of our stay because it was so good! The waffle cones are freshly made every time. My husband and I both got the chocolate coconut ice cream in a waffle cone. One of our kids got the chocolate ice cream and the other one got wildberry. It's inside a bookstore which was already closed by the time we went. Plenty of seating to sit and eat your ice cream. There is a beautiful simplicity to Cream that is rare to find in today's dining world. The quality is excellent- I would compare it to Salt & Straw, except that they don't offer bizarre flavors and the quality hasn't nosedived like S&S (no crowds either.) I went on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm, and there was no line at all- it is located inside Chapters Bookstore, which has a coffee shop and several tables to sit at. It was nice and quiet, and has that bookstore smell that we all love and adore. The single scoops at first seem expensive, at $5, but the portion was very generous and the quality makes the price absolutely worth it. There is plenty of parking in the lot in the back, or on the street. Newberg doesn't get that busy usually, and I was able to park in the lot on a Saturday afternoon. I'm really happy I found this place, as there aren't a lot of gourmet ice cream shops in the area. From Portland it is a far drive, but if you are heading to the coast or wine country, I'd recommend stopping here to grab a scoop. read more

This is a really amazing place. Cream is inside Chapters bookstore and is very good, home made ice cream. They have a lot of flavors and everything was tasty. When you walk up to order the first question is "Would you like a waffle cone?" The reason they ask is if you do it's made fresh on the spot. No shelved inventory there. The whole environment is relaxing. There is an area to sit and eat and since it's inside Chapters you can look at books and all of their stuff. Great place for the family. read more

Homemade ice cream on the side of the highway, in Newberg, OR you say? Well, yeah, we're stopping! How could you not? Am I right? So we took a little day trip out to Neskowin and being that it was cloudy and cool out there for most of the day, it was time to head back and yeah, the sun and heat showed up. My brother's girlfriend mentioned Cream and a little about the cart. Ummm... yes. We stopped and some really nice and unique flavors. Chocolate and stuff, Thai iced tea and one with cardamom, plus a couple others. This Thai iced tea was like I was enjoying the real thing. No watered down taste at all. Really great. The chocolate and stuff had chips and caramel in it and was quite creamy. We even got a dairy free option for the sweet pittie (miss Sylvie) that was with us. She took that ice cream apart very fast. Two folks run this little cart and he makes all the ice cream himself. It is definitely a stop worth making when you venture out this way. Just make sure they are open because they aren't there all the time. I imagine with summer upon us, they will be there more frequently. We all scream for great ice cream. Enjoy. read more

I stopped in here for a cone on a Wednesday afternoon. It's right across 1st street from where Newberg's Wednesday market is held so it's very convenient. Cream has a counter in the corner of this lovely combination bookshop/cafe. It's adorable and practical- I picked up a book and a fresh waffle cone of the Lemon Bar ice cream. Pretty neat atmosphere. When you walk in you are hit with a strong scent of coffee and books. The ice cream is pretty good, however customer service lacks A LOT. We have been here two times now and both times the person serving ice cream was not friendly at all. There was no one else in line both times we've gone and the server made us feel like we were an inconvenience. During first Friday in March we encountered this food truck. We were in the mood for ice cream so we tried it. I got the coldbrew coffee and carmel in a dish and my wife got a flavor in the waffle cone. We both LOVED our. The waffle cone smelled delicious as well. The lady and gentleman who ran it were also super kind! Fast forward to this past Friday... We found them again at first Friday and had to spoke. They are often parked in the lot at Chehalem Winery, and at many of the local community events. Seriously some of the best icecream I've eaten. I am a huge icecream fan. When I lived in portland I frequented Salt and Straw, and since moving to Newberg I have missed that kind of quality and flavor. Until now! I tried the Honey Lavender and Pumpkin Spice Latte. The Honey Lavender was the absolute best lavender icecream anywhere. A beautiful floral and sweet lavender that was such a joy to put in my mouth that I'm sure I'll dream about it. The Pumpkin Spice Latte was a nice balance of pumpkin and coffee, not overly sweet like so many pumpkin flavored things are. And the waffle cone... Oh my... We watched while they made the cones to order, it took a few extra minutes but oh wow was it worth 5 minutes. Light, crispy and sweet. Waffle cone heaven. The only downside is that they don't have a regular spot, we founf them at the Newberg farmer's market, but they can also be found at the Chehalem tasting room parking lot. Their Facebook page is regularly updated, as is their website, which makes it fairly easy to find them. Oh, and if they have the sweet corn caramel, give it a try-that's what I'm getting next time! read more
