Stopped by here on our way from Banff to Calgary. Not to far off from highway, easy to find parking. We ordered Malaysian hawker noodle and salt and pepper calamari. Both were really great. Good vibe as well. read more

I have been meaning to come here for so long. I come to Canmore often and I don't know what took me so long! Beautiful atmosphere and they had some great tunes playing to start things off. I ordered the rib eye and my bf got the lamb chops. Both were amazing. I've been reading such great reviews on this place and I definitely understand why! We went on a Wednesday and it was quiet which was an added touch. Oh and our server was a dreamboat. Just sayin ;) read more

Amazing meal and ambiance! I ordered the shrimp pasta and hubby ordered the rib eye. The food was delicious and service was fast and polite. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Canmore! So glad we checked it out! read more

The decor is beautiful, the soup of the day was delicious too, but the bibimbap was meh. They said it is served cold but I've only ever had it hot at least for some items that way the raw egg cooks over the rice. The bunnies outside were adorable too. read more

This was the best dinner we had during our 5 day trip to the Banff area. We stayed at an Airbnb in Canmore and my daughter saw this restaurant on Pinterest. The prices are comparable to other fine dining restaurants but the food tastes extremely fresh and delicious. The drinks we ordered (El Burro, French 75 and Thai Basil Bourbon) were outstanding. It's honestly worth every penny. Sadly, we ate at a different restaurant the following evening and paid the same amount of money for mediocre food and terrible drinks. The crab and corn fundido and masala ribs were amazing appetizers. Although it's not an Italian restaurant, the rigatoni bolognese and the forest mushroom pizza was just as good, if not better than dining at a good Italian restaurant in Chicago. If I were to return to Canmore, I would definitely return to eat here read more

This place was phenomenal. Love the fusion spin on their dishes. The tikka masala ribs were to die for. Great ambiance and service was amazing too! Will definitely come back the next time we were in Canmore. read more

We came in for dinner and were able to get a seat at the bar. My hubby had the ribeye and a side of roasted broccoli with cheddar. I had a bowl of soup (broccoli/cheddar) and the ahi tuna on the starter menu. All of the food was really good. My only complaints are that: 1) You barely get any tuna. I wish I would have taken a picture but I was ready to dig in when the food came. Needless to say that I had a ton of won ton tostada/cucumber/etc. left on my plate as there were very few cubes of tuna when it came out. Generally food is pricey in the area but I feel you should at least get what you pay for. 2) The food was very slow coming out. We sat at the bar and after we had ordered, another couple was sat next to us. They got their food and had almost finished when I inquired about our main courses. I was told that since I ordered an appetizer (a bowl of soup), our food came out later. My poor husband ordered no appetizer and had to watch the guy next to him finish his steak as my husband waited for his. We came back the next day for lunch. They have the same tuna dish on the lunch menu but the dish is called ahi tuna nachos. Of course I didn't order them as I knew I'd get no protein. I opted for the buttermilk chicken sandwich. It was super yummy but AGAIN not enough chicken. A small piece of chicken for a big bun. This time I took a picture. For $18, shouldn't the chicken be big enough for the bun. I was disappointed. Hubby had the burger and he enjoyed it. read more

Lately I find it is very rare to really feel a great connection with your waitstaff at various restaurants... They seem to just do their job on average but not really care about their customers, and definitely not care about getting to know them, fortunately last week we took the time to use Yelp to search for the best restaurant in Canmore Alberta and we were lucky enough to find crazyweed and our amazing waitress Elisa. The food was spectacular, but most of all Elisa was just such an amazing guide for our entire evening. She set the tone in a positive way right from the get go and was funny, personable, clearly enjoyed meeting us as customers and giving us great advice... For an example about the chicken and she said it's one of her favorite things but definitely we should not get it if we don't like to eat cilantro or green onions... Fortunately everybody at the table loves cilantro and green onions so we ordered it and loved it. But it was great advice, because it was realistic and actually has a warning not to order it if you were a certain kind of person. It went on like that for the whole night with her lovely advising regarding both food and the wonderful wine list. The only thing I did not like was the photographs on the walls ( ironically I read another yelp review or who said she loves the photographs on the walls because they were not pretentious... And yet when I looked at the photographs pretentious was literally the first word that came to mind! Artsy fartsy and all black and white and very annoying. The first thing when you arrive at the restaurant that you see is a scowling David Lynch... Who is probably my least favorite movie maker so I'm glad it didn't spoil my impression of the whole restaurant), plus they could install some kind of sound deadening to improve the acoustics---- the place has very high ceilings and nothing to absorb the shouting from all the crazy hen parties nearby, we were surrounded by three sets of bridezillas and their giant entourages and everybody was very shrieking and screechy and if they took more care to absorb the acoustics in this room it would be a more enjoyable experience... Thank you so much to Elisa and my advice to her is never mind the haters... She told me that she doesn't read yelp reviews anymore because somebody once called her arrogant. I think arrogant is the last adjective I would ever use to describe Elisa, she is an amazing mouthpiece and representing representative of this great quirky restaurant. read more

We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant! You would never guess the vibe of this place based on its name. It has higher end food and a great ambiance! We also had a wonderful server. We loved the Bolognese and the short rib. read more

On our way heading to Kicking Horse, we made a great decision to stop at CrazyWeed. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was outstanding. We ordered both the fried chicken and Ruben sandwich; they were incredible. Crazyweed's top notch service continued when I realized that I forgot my jacket at the restaurant. They quickly found it and set it aside and were very helpful shipping it back to me! 6/5 stars! read more

After a day of hiking, we called for last minute seating and they found room for us. Service was awesome. Have to order the Thai Grilled Chicken! I say again, order the Thai Grilled Chicken. The food and preparation was excellent. The Tenderloin Carpaccio was great too. Great place for a casual dinner! Enjoyed it! read more

For the $$$ I expected better service. There was an egg allergy which we communicated. The waitress didn't communicate with the kitchen. She proceeded to make excuses"these masks are so confusing" We the customers weren't wearing masks, communication was clear. Masks do not cover ears. Accountability, sincerity was missing. My Negroni was not well made, tasted like they substituted Campari with Aperol. Main dish was good, scallops with curry. Overall not a good experience. Service doesn't match the image of a classy resturant read more

Did not have a reservation - Tues night but got in right away at 7pm. Lots of options on the menu - it was tough! Had the lamb and the beef both excellent, and quick to deliver. Drinks were great too. Beautiful room and great staff. We'll be back in our weeks stay here to try all of the small plates. read more

This is certainly a happening place in Canmore. The food is good too. It was girls' night out for some of the ladies of the Calgary Opera Chorus and we started with a tour of Wild Life Distillery and then headed to Crazyweed. We had to wait about 10 minutes before our table was ready so make sure you have a reservation because even though we had one we still had to wait. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. One of the best things is that they were able to split the cost of the appetizers and bill us individually! No taking out the calculator and trying to figure things out! We tried the Crab & Corn fundido, fried chicken and the calamari. I highly recommend the fried chicken, morsels were succulent and moist with a great dip. The calamari was excellent too, especially the sauce that was served with it. The corn chips with the fundido were a little soggy. They looked like they were made on site but sitting in the bowl they were served in made them soggy and hard to use to scoop up the crab & corn dip. I had the char siu pork belly. The richness of the pork belly was balanced off by the apple, lime, peanut, cilantro and mint chilly. My friends had the Thai grilled chicken with scallion (Green onion) salad. The portion was generous but the scallion salad was a bit overpowering so be warned, you'd better love green onions or this will not appeal to you. The Buddha Bowl was also a hit. They forgot the halibut that one of us ordered so the entree was half-priced to make up for the tardiness of the dish. I think if we didn't have to wait and if all the entrees had arrived I would have given this place a 4 star. I would definitely go back again especially for the fried chicken. There is no dessert menu but there is a dessert of the day. We were too full to try the day's selection of date cake with bourbon sauce but it sounded delicious. read more

Great food, Exceptional service. I would highly recommend this place. We actually drove in from Banff just to try this place. Had the Moroccan Lamb and Thai chicken. Both were amazing. Our waitress who's name I unfortunately forgot was great at explaining things and making recommendations. Awesome wine list. Worth the drive for a great dinner and good wine. read more

I went to Crazyweed Kitchen just passing through Canmore. It has always been one of the best restaurants in the the Calgary - Banff area. They change their menu and it always seems to be so innovative and flavourful. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and ...... know their food. Truly Foodies! I will drive for an hour to go for dinner without even batting an eye! It's a pleasure to recommend this establishment with great enthusiasm! read more

Mmmmm ... Very yummy =) My aunt and I couldn't decide what to eat so we decided to share two dishes between us: A burger and their tuna sandwich. Both items were extremely yummy and I loved the sauce that they drizzled over the potatoes. The only drawback was their portion sizes; a little on the small side, but still delicious. The service was pleasant, with very nice staff that checked on our table regularly. The atmosphere was also extremely pleasant; large windows allowed lots of natural light to flood the entire restaurant. There are couches with pillows, and comfy chairs. The kitchen is right in the middle so you can smell and see everything! Would definitely come back when in the area again. read more

Beautiful restaurant, fantastic food & cocktails , great service, friendly staff. We ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert and we cleaned every plate. I can't decide what was my favorite. Everything was wonderful!!! read more

First, our waitress was GREAT and food didn't take long to arrive. Ambience was very nice. Food. I've heard wonderful things about this place and looked forward to trying it on my birthday. Appetizer was the crab and corn. My son said it best. "Where the heck is the crab"!? This dish tasted nice but seriously, no crab! Our main course's... Our son loved his chicken. Very tasty. I had the pork chop. Couldn't cut through it...at all. Fatty and tough. The middle bordered on raw and the outside was over cooked...very tough. The cauliflower was good though. My wife had the tuna tartar. It was ice cold and tasteless...at least there was a big blonde hair in it! She returned her dish. Our waitress, quickly, brought back another. It was disgusting. The bill was over $150 (they did not compensate for the hair and lost appetite). Too bad. Not interested in trying this place again. read more

This was awful, I ordered the gnocchi, payed 30 dollars for no more than 3/4 of a cup of food and the container was full of oil. I called them back to ask for some help and they didn't pick up, nor did they call me back. Ive worked in the restaurant industry before and this was truly awful. I love dining in Canmore and am a local, wouldn't recommend this to people, waste of money. It was also a birthday party, disappointing. read more

Stayed in Canmore for one week. A local friend brought us here for dinner as it is his favorite place. We came back once more on our own for late lunch early dinner. Great friendly service and kitchen puts out fantastic food! We tried; mixed green salad, wood over roasted Brussel sprouts, Smoked Camembert, Oscar Wilde Pizza, Moroccan lamb sirloin, braised beef rib, and the Swoon Worthy Warm Date Cake. All were great with good wine and coffee. Would definitely come back again and again. read more

Definitely our favorite stop in Canmore. Great wine selection, friendly and attentive staff, and super flavorful entrees. Loved the large portions, cool lighting, and succulents! We tried the Ahi starter - definitely a must! Ribeye- perfectly cooked, delicious truffle flavors. And broccoli- go ahead and skip this one if you're not a huge cheddar lover. Will come back next time we're in town! read more

Don't listen to the haters. This place is phenomenal. If you're looking for elevated and flavorful food in this area, look no further. My wife and I came here on our last night in Canmore, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. We got the golden beet salad (special), pickled chicken, rigatoni bolognese, and Moroccan lamb, and every bite was fantastic. read more

I would very highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. The service was a little slow but the food was sensational and well worth the wait. Loved the ambience and staff were polite and friendly. Would suggest making a reservation as it is a very popular place but deservedly as it served some of the best food I have ever had. read more

We were told this is one of the best restaurants in Canmore, but we weren't impressed with the food. The service was great. We ordered the ribeye, galbi, and a salad. The meat was tough and not flavorful. We were really disappointed with our experience, but hope it's an anomaly. read more

The restaurant is smaller than I imagined and more curvy with little nooks to seat customers. You feel like you're eating in a boutique furniture store because my particular table had four sofa cushions of trendy pattern. We had a cider and tea-ism which is absinthe with some black tea. Some may love the absinthe drink. All the dishes are amazing. You'll find immense joy in the smallest details. Plus knowing that you're in an incredibly loved and preserved neighborhood (except for all the hotels) makes you appreciate the restaurant even more. read more

I went to this restaurant with my family on our way to Banff. We saw positive reviews and decided to try this restaurant. We were not happy with the service for three reasons. 1. The server forgot to inform us that there was a large group at the restaurant and that that's why it took a long time to prepare our orders. I would have expected heads up if we were expecting 40 minute wait time for even our appetizers to show up. 2. There was a piece of fabric that was found in the pizza that the server did not even know what it was. We had to cancel it because my mom who ordered it lost appetite after she found it in her food. 3. Every food item was a lot saltier than what we are used to. Now after looking a few of the reviews, I realize I am not the only one who received this similar experience. I am not too sure where positive reviews are coming from. read more

Great food. Very great food! Lots different wines to pick from. Waitress filled my sparkling water with tap water, not just one time, but several times. Really annoying. Try the not so sweet Camembert desert, pure class. read more

I'm crazy for CRAZYWEED! Not crazy for weed, crack for crazy weed. This just went downhill quickly. 6 of us headed to the mountains for a fun weekend of poker, cards, hiking and relaxation with one special night saved for a delicious meal at the ever popular CRAZYWEED. The atmosphere is beautiful. Simple, elegant, a little rustic. My main was the pork chop. Now listen, I'm not one to talk about food (only all the time) but I haven't stopped thinking about this meal. The thick-cut chop was covered in a granny smith apple sort of slaw/salad thingy and then a parmesan potatoy mooshy delicious thing. UGH, it was incredible.I seriously can't even wait to go back here. All 6 of us had unbelievable meals with cleaned plates. The appies were great, the beer selection was awesome (They had DESCHUTES from Portland). And sweet honorable baby jesus, I don't mean to sound like a mega creep, but there was a server there who was nothing short of Joe Manganiello. Hubba Hubba - a oooogaaa *cue Looney Toons crazy eyes* It's nice to drool over the wait staff, but it was so much better to drool over their delicious cuisine. You'd be crazy not to go here. Book early, this place books up quickly! read more

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had anywhere. The atmosphere is very modern yet warm and inviting. Our server was very pleasant and his food knowledge was second to none. The food... Oh the food... I haven't had a restaurant meal this good in years if not longer. The halibut ceviche was perfectly balanced and had more flavor per bite than most meals have in there entirety. My wife had the surf and turf pizza which was delicious and perfectly cooked, I had the pork chop and it took my breath away, everything about our meal was executed ink the best way possible. We ended up taking home their dessert feature which was a bread pudding with fresh BC cherries... Excellent stuff! I recommend that everyone that comes through Canmore try this place. read more

Had an amazing dinner, loved the lamb sirloin and the smoked baby potatoes. I probably eat every lunch and supper there but I couldn't really afford the gas to drive back and forth between Calgary and Canmore four times a day... Maybe there's a shuttle bus or a train? read more

Quite a find in a tourist oriented mountain town. This high end restaurant matches the finer white table cloth restaurants found in most cities. Every dish included some original touches. We started with the cod/prawn cakes and shared generous portions of fabulous Brussels sprouts and the chorizo orecchiette. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. read more

The service was fine. People were polite. Nothing noteworthy in a positive or negative way. Food is pricey as are the cocktails but the thing about cost is - for me at least - is it worth it? In this case I think "yes" it is. The large windows, the mountains hovering right outside or the patio view to people watch are all calming enjoyable places to end your day in Canmore. The food, though, that's the real reason for the price. The pickles vegetables served with the brisket burger was as tasty as the bacon aioli Brussels sprouts (with pine nuts). The Thai chicken - yum! It's served with an unusual (for me) scallion salad which was full of cilantro and peanuts and things shoestring like fry curls. Yes I ate too much! The eggplant - such a unique twist with raisins and chopped instead of puréed. They even served rice crackers for us GF folks. Psst the washroom was also clean and well stocked. Definitely make the trip. You will not be disappointed. read more

Our friends recommended Crazyweed as their favorite place to stop for lunch on their way to Banff. Since we were staying in Canmore but spending all our days hiking and exploring in the park, we planned to go to Crazyweed for dinner. The first night we went, we learned the hard way that almost everything in Canmore closes early. Then we were discouraged by several locals- told we should avoid Crazyweed for dinner, only go for lunch. Then I read all the negative dinner reviews on Yelp- so I fell for it and almost missed out on a great meal. Our last day we got a late start so we hit Crazyweed for lunch. It was so good, we thought how bad could dinner be? So we made a reservation for dinner and went back for the second time in one day. Ignore all the negative reviews. Dinner was just as awesome as lunch. The food was amazing and the service was great. read more

This is the first yelp misdirect. The high ratings led us here and what's to like? The potatoes were raw - so hard I couldn't cut through them with a fork. My wife's salmon was over cooked. And our server dropped the food off and was never seen again. We left quietly but had to go to the front to get our check because the service was so bad. We eat out several times a week, we like to try new places and this was the worst dining experience we have had in over 30 years. Avoid at all costs (which at this place are very high). read more

I'm going to start by saying that the kitchen does an excellent job at Crazyweed. The menu doesn't offer anything too unique, but high quality ingredients are used, and it's definitely tasty. We made a reservation for 5 very far in advance. We chose Crazyweed as a special night out because the price point is high. When we arrived to the restaurant we were immediately put off by the hostess, who had a serious air of arrogance. Our table was really only meant for 4, and 3 of us had to cram on the bench side of the table, and I had to navigate plate so it wouldn't sit on the crack of two small tables pushed together. We had two servers for our table, one who seemed shy and never asked to refill our drinks once they were done, and another food waitress who was slow and rude. Worst of all, the service was slow. When our food finally arrived, it was cold. Two of us ordered duck, and that's the last thing you want to be eating luke warm. Another had the steak, medium rare, and it was also cold. Another thing I forgot to mention was that three people were served their food, and the rest of us had to wait another TEN minutes. No exaggeration. The best meal ordered at our table was the pizza. Not what you're expecting at this type of establishment. Bottom line, when you're paying $40/entree plus drinks, you want something memorable. And if the food doesn't pull through, you want the service to make up for that so you don't leave angry. The whole experience at Crazyweed was negative and I wouldn't recommend it. We were given this advice beforehand from a Canmore local, and we didn't take it. I hope this will make people choose differently. read more
