Mediterranean Bowl

Stopped in for a couple of bowls on a Saturday afternoon. The chicken in our bowls was really dry and the bowls themselves did not have enough sauce. I was very happy with our service and the helpfulness of the staff, but not with the quality of food we had that day.

After our visit to the nearby Laumeier Sculpture Park, we were in search of a lunch that wouldn't feel too heavy, as we still had a full-ish day ahead of us. We had become familiar with CB&W years ago as a good place to go for healthful options, and were pleased to discover a franchise just a short distance from the park. We arrived just before noon, which turned out to be excellent timing because shortly after we placed our order, there was a steady flow of customers. This place apparently has its share of regulars, because we heard the fellow behind the counter greet several by name. In the years since our last visit, the menu has become more diversified, with vegan and low-carb options, and more flavors from which to choose. The ordering process is easy to understand; the only thing that will slow you down is deciding which permutation you would like. Today we enjoyed: Santa Fe salad with crunchy chicken - a good-size portion of crispy chicken nuggets on a bed of salad with chunks of avocado and tortilla chips, served with a tomato ranch dressing. I guess the deep-fried nature of the chicken detracts from the healthfulness of the dish, but it's okay to cheat a little. The greens were fresh and crisp. Teriyaki bowl with grilled chicken on brown rice - this was very delicious, though maybe just a little too much teriyaki sauce. Served with plenty of steamed vegetables that were done just right. Thai bowl with quinoa and tofu - this was my main dish and I loved it. As with the teriyaki bowl, it came with a lot of vegetables. There was quite a bit of quinoa as well. It probably could have used just a little more of the thai peanut sauce, but overall the flavor was really good. I was quite hungry going into lunch but wasn't able to finish the entire dish. Prices vary according to your choice of protein, but on average a bowl comes to about $12 - a very good price given the amount and quality of the food. This is certainly an excellent choice for a healthful meal.

Really nice staff and food is always great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because it does take quite a while to get your food even if you order ahead. It's a bit small and gets super busy especially around lunch so seating can be limited but it's a really nice casual place to grab lunch on your break and I really appreciate the service.

I'd never been here before but thought I'd try it out! When I entered, the space was totally empty but I could see some workers in the back through the pass window. I stared at the overhead menu trying to figure out what I wanted. There's a STL Bread Co right around the corner that was my first choice, so I was leaning towards a salad but nothing on this menu really appealed to me. I got settled on a Caesar Wrap with chicken. I was wondering why no one came to take my order then realized there's a terminal to punch in your order and self-pay. An employee that was passing through the front area did finally say hello to me, though. I sat down and my wrap arrived very quickly. My first impression was that my wrap was mostly rice and in order to get the slightest bit of protein in each bite, I had to open up the wrap and rearrange the ingredients. Annoying. It was a nice fat wrap (though mostly rice). The tomato tortilla could have been a regular tortilla. Flavor was meh. The Caesar wrap from Jimmy Johns is way better. The side tortilla chips were toasty hot but I was actually expecting and would have preferred potato chips. Only 2 other people came in during my meal. My meal was over $11. I'm glad I tried it but I'll not return.

Poke Bowl

I would die to eat this for the rest of my life! Service is very good and it's nice to have the choice of either electronically ordering on the touch screen tablet or ordering with a cashier worker. Sauces are sooo good bro pls try it. Never super duper busy from what I know so it's really chill.

This is an amazing location. The wraps were really fresh and I enjoyed my experience here. The chips and queso were top-notch. I love the crispy chicken on the barbecue wrap was a nice combo. Can't wait to try those lobster ragoons next time.

Went to this area with the intention of going to another food spot but decided to try this instead. I ordered the fajita bowl with grilled chicken and jasmine rice. It was really good for a quick meal to go! I also ordered a water and the guy told me to choose from all sizes of cups rather than giving me a tiny little water cup which I REALLY appreciated (one of my biggest pet peeves are those stupid water cups). Everyone was friendly and the order took a reasonable amount of time to complete. The bowl had lots of good flavor. I would've hoped for more chicken, and one piece was burnt but otherwise I was pleased. It lasted me two meals as well which is always a bonus.

Poke Bowl with Quinoa

This is such a great little spot. The bowls are so tasty and they have such a variety of options. By far my favorite is their poke bowl with quinoa instead of rice. I was also surprises that the side was an actual tortilla instead of tortilla chips. It went really well with their green chilly condiment. Service has always been fast and with a smile as well If you ever in the Fenton MO area I highly recommend you stop by.

I love the food. But the metal chairs are FREEZING AND UNCOMFORTABLE. Please, I beg you, get chairs that aren't FREEZING.

A couple of friends who are vegan came along and they had plenty of options too, which made it easy for everyone to enjoy. The vibe was busy but not overwhelming--we just missed the weekend lunch rush, so timing helped. It's counter service, so you order up front and they bring the food out to your table. There was no place to check in for a table and there weren't separate lines for eat in and carry out. I got there first and didn't want to order before my friend got there. I saw an empty table so I sat down to wait. I was nicely told by one of the workers who was carrying around table numbers that I needed to be assigned a table number first. It was unclear when or how to get assigned a number, maybe when you order? Although the line moved pretty quickly it kept growing so when my friend arrived I ended up ordering online. Then I had to ask for a table. I wish they had clear signage or some way to inform about the process. I had the flying avocado turkey wrap which was fresh and delicious, although I didn't taste any avocado. Also ordered the green chili queso with chips which was great. I placed another order to go to take the Cajun shrimp boil home for dinner. It was good, too, although I should have had the hot dish for lunch and taken home the cold wrap. I'd like to try the avocado toast. Next time I will stand in line and order.

I was pleasantly greeted and served by Dimitri (please forgive my spelling if incorrect). He spoke highly of the Freddo Cappuccino so I tried it. The espresso has a bold flavor and when paired with the house made sweet cream, it's perfect! The Lemon Chicken Orzo soup? 10s across the board. That is a MUST. It's so fresh, so light, so good! The tuna was ok. It was a bit too much olive and not enough yogurt/mayo for my liking. I appreciate the tomato being salted!! I ate the whole thing. The Olympian Stack was highly recommended by ALL the staff I interacted with. The beef was tender and it had the perfect amount of toppings. Really great meal from my first time at J's. The location is a little hard to get into if you're…read morenot familiar. You have to make a really sharp right turn immediately after entering the parking lot and it's a one-way street so watch carefully while pulling in. The pictures make it look a lot bigger than it is. It's very small and informal on the inside, but room for a small handful of eat-in guests. Very cute interior and a nice case with desserts and some other stuff so you can make impulse purchases when you see how mouth-watering it all looks. They also had a cold case with some stuff to take home to cook. We ordered a berliner (beef), a gyro (beef), and a chicken panini. Online ordering was easy and they had a window for special instructions so I was able to make small customizations (no onion, etc.). Food was ready at pickup time and they handed my food in a reusable bag, so props for minimizing waste plastic. The berliner was my favorite. I loved the fresh "salad" filling and the spicy sauce, and it seemed less messy and easier to eat thank a gyro. Downside was that it was a little cold with all the salad, but the meat was still a little warm. The gyro was traditional and fantastic, and the meat they use is better than the industrial "gyro meat" from most places (not that I'm complaining about that, I love that too). Very messy with the tzatziki and feta, but still much warmer than the berliner. I ordered the chicken panini with no onion for a kid so I am sure I missed out on some flavor. It was good but I think it would be even better with the onion and with maybe one of their sauces on the side for dipping. It was great for the family member who wants a more "american" sandwich. Chicken was super flavorful and the cheese was really yummy, and it was even great cold the next day. All sandwiches came with bagged ridged potato chips, and I don't think I noticed any other options on the menu. They were good chips but just regular bagged chips. I would have loved to see a side of one of their salads as an option. I added a baklava to my order when I saw them in the case but I didn't get any because my kids ate it. They said it was great. I really liked J's and plan to go again. I would love to try some of the more unique menu option, but it will be hard to pass up that berliner.

As always, the food is simply delicious. What really pissed me off? Upon leaving, I asked for a container to take most of it home because it was too much to eat. The young woman served me a brown cardboard wax-coated box to dump everything in. She said, "Will this do?" No bag to carry it home or prevent the 2 oz. Soufflé cup Olive Oil, and partially full- 2 oz. Soufflé cup of Tzatziki. I asked if I could get an extra 2 oz. portion of Tazatziki. The young woman looked at me rudely and as if she would be terribly inconvenienced, she said "We charge extra for that!" I replied "Just FORGET it!" She was very attentive to a table of females behind me who were obnoxiously loud! I regret I left her a tip after spending $40.00 + for lunch. Your To-go orders include very fancy packaging in orange bag, oversized white plastic bag. I'm a sure an extra 2.0 oz portion of Tazatziki wouldn't break your piggy bank and cost a helluva lot less. Truly disappointing snd pathetic. If you want similar, delicious cuisine and nicer service, spend your money at Balkin Treat Box. At least you won't be rudely, mistreated by arrogant, lazy "Millennial" wait-staff.
