Decided to come here and try this out for dinner. When we got in, it was bright and pretty chilly inside. Even though it's hot out inside is definitely cold. The line was a decent size line, but they went through it pretty fast. If you're unsure of what this place is think of a Mediterranean chipotle. You walk through you pick what you want and they will put it in there for you. I will say some of the portions are pretty small, even smaller than what the other chain is. Don't know if you can ask for more but I ask for cucumbers and I only got like four pieces of cucumber. I got a kids meal. My son got a steak meal and it came up to be $27. Pretty expensive so it's definitely something that you wanna plan for. The staff are friendly and got through all the orders pretty fast.
Went to Cava recently to try what the hype is and I was not disappointed. The inside of the restaurant was nicer than I thought. I went for the build-your-own bowl and there were so many ways that you can customize your bowl. My favorite protein would the braised lamb. It costed extra but so worth it. The meat was so juicy and super tender. The grilled steaks were also delicious as well. I think the hot chicken was a little dry and a bit salty for my taste. Service here at this location was a bit slow. We asked them to heat up our pita and they forgot about it since it was so busy.
Finally got to try the new Cava! Keep in mind there will be a wait! So possibly order ahead to avoid any potential wait times. The restaurant is very nice, plenty of seating inside and small outdoor patio. Many different many options and combinations which I appreciate. And also very friendly for non-meat eaters! I tried a bowl with their new salmon. I was a little disappointed with the serving size and went ahead and got a double portion so I definitely think that is not worth the additional cost. Unfortunately the pita chips I got were a bit too salty so that took away from the overall flavor. But overall, it was a solid meal and felt pretty balanced.
The frenzy for CAVA is insane, but I get it. Before we moved to MO, CAVA was just 15 minutes from my office and then I deleted the app when we got here because it wasn't here! Well, when it opened up here I knew it would be busy for a while. It is still CRAZY busy - line to the DOOR. And depending on the traffic, they close the app down for pick up orders. On a whim, at 9PM, I went to see if we could do a pick up and it was available! There was still a huge line, but I haughtily got my food on the pick up shelf and giddily ran to my husband while he waited in the car (lol) The portions were much smaller than I remember, but I'll attribute that to being slammed at every hour. The restaurant was pretty clean while I was walking through. The only issue was their ice was completely out, so our drinks weren't refreshingly cold. Still, it's CAVA and I'll always be a fan.
I love CAVA and I hope more are coming soon to the Midwest - fresh, healthy Mediterranean! It's new to St Louis, and still very busy! I waited in line 30 minutes unfortunately, plenty of workers, just think people don't know what to get. I'd eat over and over even if it's $15 for a bowl but that's any chipotle price but much better. Try all the different hummus' and dressings - picking a favorite is impossible so your meal can taste different every time! The restaurant was clean, and all the tables were full. It's a great place and hope one shows up close to home. ...a few days later I order to go. Let's just say you get half the amount of portions compared to eating in. Disappointing! Same price, half the amount of food.
I think I ordered a steak bowl, but I'm not really sure they kept asking questions and I told them I never been there before and they weren't really detailed or explained much. Jamal was very friendly. Kourtney was very friendly. Tons of the staff were outgoing and super bubbly. This made the environment and atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. I can say I would've never tried this variety on my own at home, but it wasn't terrible. Definitely different. But as a family of five, we spent over $70 including tip and that's just not feasible in my mind because everything was addition, drinks chips, etc. The kids meal was very plain and not very kid friendly. It came with rice and steak, which he didn't like. It was very bland not kid friendly.
This place is pretty much perfect to me. I love the menu choices, the house-made beverages are really good, it's very clean and bright and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. They have unique fountain beverage choices like house-made selections like Aleppo Orange, cucumber mint lime, blueberry lavender, and lemonade. There was also freshly brewed iced tea and soda by Maine Root. The staff offered wonderful customer service and were very patient with me as it was my first time visiting. they have premade bowls and pita, or you can build your own. There is a lot of choices to make so you may want to plan ahead if it's usually hard to decide. I chose the "build your own bowl" with salmon. Everything was so fresh! I loved the option of lentils for added protein, and pickled onions really elevated my entrée. I will definitely return.
I stopped by early Sunday afternoon and was genuinely impressed with what they had to offer. The setup is similar to Chipotle, where you move down an assembly line and build your meal by choosing your protein and toppings. I went with a bowl as my base--brown rice, half chicken and half steak for protein, hummus, and I got balsamic dressing on the side. As I got closer to the register, I noticed the sour mac chips looked too good to pass up, so I made an impulsive last-minute add-on. To my surprise, the total came out to just over $21. Since I was hungry, I tried some of the pita chips on the way home, and they absolutely delivered on flavor. Even though it ended up costing more than I expected, I was really satisfied with the experience overall and am already looking forward to coming back and trying something different next time.
Great food and drinks. Long line, but worth it. This is your standard fast casual assembly line setup: Mediterranean style. Ingredients are beautiful and tasty. The long line makes sense. SO MANY DRINK OPTIONS. I got a small drink cup and tried them all. Great outdoor seating. The price was good, no surprises. I got a hefty bowl with grains/greens with falafel/lamb. Great sauces and dips. The app is VERY good and the carryout was busy.

My husband reported that the bathrooms were clean. Cons: expected more than two falafel in my bowl, but I didn't leave hungry. UPDATE: I received two falafels because my other "main" was mixed roasted vegetables. The veg was good but I will probably add them to 4 falafels next time. It's hard to order because the music is so loud that the employees can't hear your requests. Kinda slow Too COLD Weird: retro 80s decor? Conclusion: Ill be back

I'm sure the crowd will die down after a couple of weeks. I did build your own bowl with power greens, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, spicy lamb meatballs, 1/2 portion black lentils, pickled onion, pickles, feta, fiery broccoli, sumac slaw, & lemon herb tahini. It was delicious. Cava is better than any other fast casual restaurant around. The only thing I really didn't like was the blueberry drink I tasted. If you haven't been you should go.
We finally got a Cava! I was excited to try it because I know so many people that live in other cities always rave about it. The topping options are plentiful with lots of good veggie choices. I also appreciate the sauce options, as I always need my bowls drenching in sauce to feel flavorful. The Sumac Sour Cream & Onion Pita Chips were so good and great for dipping. Would recommend coming here during non-peak hours, as I've seen the line way out the door multiple times. I'm sure the crowds will also die down as time goes on / other locations open. Can't wait to try more bowl combinations here!

When I say no one was eating inside it was literally one couple! I waited for an hour but it was enjoyable. I think on Monday I have enough time to wait again. Please build this Cava in Des Peres! If you love Mediterranean food or even like to eat healthy or sometimes want it a bit spicy this is your place! I'm sold! Well done indeed! Food was good,fresh and quality ingredients. The portions are good but the protein portions are skimpy. You can create your own bowl or order one that's on the menu. Customer service needs some work. I wasn't greeted upon entry, and being that I was only one of 3 customers I wasn't serviced right away. It took for another worker who i was assuming was the lead to tell one of the workers to take my order. I would come back but try and come earlier in the day to see if my experience is different! read more

First time to Cava! I got there about 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday. There were about 15 people in line by the time the door is opened. I definitely wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes for a bowl, but I would make a stop if the line is short. Unfortunately, the entire meal was fairly pricey. $20 for a grains bowl, side of pita chips and drink (near $4!!). I would absolutely skip the drink next time. The pita chips were a must. The protein was a few scoops too, which was nice. There was a cava employee for each section of the line, and everyone was in good spirits with answering the repeated questions with the first time guest. The inside is clean, spacious, and retro. There are even some seating options outside. Plenty of parking in a spacious lot. I will definitely be back when I want another rice bowl and have $15 to burn. read more
I'm easily going to burn myself out on Cava but it sure is delicious every time! Even with the line out the door, they seem to have quick and efficient service! I love the featured salmon bowl- just wish sometimes they would keep extra salmon stocked so they don't run out so often! read more
I would return and recommend. The food tastes fresh but since it's new have some patience. It was busy. Service was cool and offered suggestions when asked. Sat on the patio and the patio needs more scenery, flowers or plants maybe. read more

Let me start off by saying we waited in line a little over 45 minutes for our meal. I was very excited to try this place out because we didn't have one here in St. Louis and I've heard great things about it. I will say it was a great bowl and there are many options to choose from. The chicken I got had some great flavor and I really enjoyed the sauces on top. I just didn't enjoy waiting in line for this meal. Hopefully it will calm down soon. read more

Cava just opened on Friday, and the line was out the door. I recommended ordering from their app or online and then picking up the food. We ordered a bowl with beef and another bowl with chicken. Both were delicious! They offer a variety of drinks; Mexican Cola was my favorite. The inside is spacious, the staff is friendly, and parking is convenient. read more

Walking in the building is nice and bright. It's clean with plenty of seating. Now it's my fault that I don't wait for the hype to die down because even at 9pm I waited in line for 15-20 min. But the workers were very pleasant and the line moved at a steady pace. With constant refills even at that hour. I do annuls your one bowl with chicken and it was pretty good. They give a nice portion size and plenty of options to choose from. And for the price it's moderate and fits what you're getting. read more
Soooo excited that a CAVA is finally (somewhat) closer to me now! It's a bit away from St. Louis city, but it was worth the trip, especially because of how much I missed CAVA! I've never seen a CAVA with a line going out the door though. I think I waited close to 30-45 minutes to order and get my food, which is not really the typical model of CAVA because it's like the Mediterranean version of "Chipotle" but I'm sure when the hype dies down a little bit, the wait won't be too long. The inside is bright and modern, and they have tables and chairs for plenty of people. Food was just as I expected! Tables were incredibly dirty though... probably because they may have been a little understaffed. read more
First time visiting the Cottleville Cava and it was superb. I ordered a standard chicken rice bowl. Idk how to explain it but there is something so delicious about the rice, like it's the best rice ever. Portion was filling and flavor was 10/10. I went at around 9 PM and only had to wait for about 30 mins. There is a lot of seating both indoor and outdoor. Can't wait to try more! read more
The food is Mediterranean inspired so humus, pita and veggies and sauces. The line was to the door since Cava has only been open about a week. Nice clean space but due to the long lines you can feel as though the customers are looking at you while you eat. Was a beautiful day so we sat outside. I added lamb to my bowl. It was ground lamb, I would have preferred strips. The hummus was delicious and lettuce was fresh. There were lots of options to create your bowl or you could order one that had a pre-designed menu. I would like to go back and try the salmon bowl. The sour crème pita chips were delicious, much better than the pita that came with your bowl but you had to pay extra for the sour crème pita chips, but worth it! read more
Great addition to the Cottleville area. Went right at open on the 2nd day and 20 people were already waiting outside to get in. Took about a half hour to get through the line. The team was doing great for the high volume coming at them. Everyone had a great attitude and seemed happy to be there. Did a build your own bowl. Portions were generous and have leftovers for tomorrow. Loved being able to add my choice of toppings, flavors and sauces. There is plenty to choose from for a new flavor experience every time. No doubt this will be fully in my rotation often. read more
Finally!! I love CAVA and am so pumped to finally have one in St charles! We went in opening day to a line wrapped around the building. While in line, the CAVA team was going to each person in line, welcoming us with samples of pita/hummus/tzaziki as well as drink samples. The weather was looking rough, so they then arranged the line to snake around the store to get as many people inside without disrupting the people sitting down to eat. I was shocked that they didn't run out of food, and the people who complained about portions or "messy" bowls are a little ridiculous given the insane amount of volume this store was doing all day. I ordered a salad and my husband ordered a pita. Both were delicious as always. The vibe of the store is strong with the signature CAVA aesthetic. The workers were super friendly (shout out to Krystal), and the outdoor seating area is one that we will absolutely be frequenting this summer. Sorry for the dupe review. 1000/10 food was refreshing flavorful, and so filling the portion sizes are great. It definitely is a little pricier than other places, but it's totally worth it. We'll definitely be back. read more
I had been waiting for a Cava to open and for the crowd to die down. I was at the nail shop and remembered I was close enough to pull up. The parking lot was crowded. There was also a line but it wasn't out the door like I had been seeing on line. There was still enough seating on the inside and an outdoor patio with seating as well. I was taking my order to go. I pulled up the app to decide exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to get up to the front and not know. So I put my Mediterranean bowl together on line and just read each part to them as it came up. Didn't seem like they cared about efficiency. I didn't get a drink I had my water with me. My food was delicious and the overall feel of the visit was pleasant. I can't wait to go back. If you have never been, I suggest pulling up the app or the website to put your order together. There will be a line. This will get you through it a little quicker. read more
Went for lunch on day 2 of their opening. The line was out the door. We waited about 35 minutes. You can always order online and avoid waiting in line. I'm very familiar with Cava with all my travels in Texas and California. This restaurant was swamped with customers and they were still executing at a high level. I ordered a grain bowl with half brown rice and half basmati rice. For sauces I got hummus and tzatziki. For my protein I got grilled chicken. For toppings I got two scoops of chopped tomatoes and cucumbers, one scoop of pickled cucumbers and Greek vinaigrette dressing. All the ingredients look like they were just made. We were fortunate to find an open table. My grain bowl was over the top delicious. When we were waiting in line I spoke with an employee about the status of the Des Peres location and he said it's targeted to open in August 2026. If you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine then you'll enjoy Cava. It's always a friendly and fun vibe. read more
