    Mexican street corn dip
    Jenelle B.

Order at the counter, pay at register, seat yourself. I had the Cobb salad - it was a generous portion and flavors were good, but because they fill the bowl and then cop it all together, the texture was a bit too uniform for my taste. I prefer finding a chunk of egg or a full leaf of lettuce rather than having everything chopped into small, even tiny pieces. Some folks do like chopped salad and if that is you- this is a great spot! The Mexican street corn appetizer was creamy and well spiced. The accompanying tortilla chips had a unique flavor. Overall, ingredients were fresh, items were prepared immediately and service was quick!

The service was fine for a cafeteria seat yourself restaurant. We went there after seeing the Ansel Kiefer, exhibit at the St. Louis Art Museum. I ordered the pizza and salad combo. The Queen's Margherita half flatbread and cypress salad with a Balsimic vinegerette dressing. Overall the food was delicious but I wish the tomatoes on the flatbread were quartered before being placed on the pizza. The whole slice comes off when you bite into the pizza and all you taste is tomato and the topping comes with it. Basically you are eating all the topping with each section. Not able to enjoy all the flavors on the pizza. The salad was good but with a little too much cucumber pieces. I would recommend but know there are many choices to choose from the menu.

More attention paid to service this time around. Appreciated the attention to presentation. Really makes the food seem to taste better!! Nice vegan options and gf offerings. Comfortable, sociable surroundings.

Sadly, this place used to be much better about 10 years ago when it first opened. We used to go almost weekly to Kirkwood and really enjoyed dining here. You can really taste the decline in quality and the portion sizes are significantly smaller as well. The atmosphere is still clean, with lots of seating, and the service wasn't an issue either. Unfortunately, nobodies food was as good as they remembered. My "Queen Margherita Pizza" was just flatbread with a tiny bit of basil and cold tomatoes on top. The Iconic BLT was decent, but mostly bread. We spent $50 on lunch and left still hungry. The atmosphere and service are still fine, but don't expect good or fresh food like in the past. I don't think we will be back soon.

Located in kirkwood station this crushed red has good food in line with what you expect from the chain. But where it really shines is the location. Ample parking with two adjacent parking garages and street parking, a great courtyard seating area with occasional live entertainment, or if you prefer to be inside they also have plenty of indoor seating with high tops, booths, regular tables, or whatever you're looking for. Come here for lunch and make a day of it walking over to the Lego store, train station, or farmers markets.

When you walk in, you are greeted by a worker behind a counter. You order your food, and then they bring it out to you. They have alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, and the seating area is quite large. There is also outside seating if it isn't too hot out. The food is on the pricier side for salad and flat bread pizzas, but it's delish!

One of my favorite sports to grab lunch! We used to come here all the time, but for some reason COVID threw us off our game of frequenting! I went to workout on the coldest day of the snow storm that piled in before the holidays, and I really wanted a good salad after my workout! I decided to pop in, and it was totally empty minus the employees! I ordered the Welcome Back Cobber with no tomatoes. It's such a perfect combo of flavors with roasted chicken breast, avocado, bacon, egg, Gorgonzola, croutons, and field greens. They chop the salad parts and then toss it with goddess dressing. Everything is so fresh, and the staff were so friendly. I was thankful they made it in with the storm! I got water to drink, and what I love about CR is that they have fresh lemon and oranges for their water. I truly think that makes a difference! They also have a lot of condiments for pizza and bread, depending on what you order. The booth was clean and well taken care of. They have silverware on the table in mason jars. I was definitely pleased with my visit! Another salad rec I have is the cowpoke! Definitely try it out.

Be prepared to do a lot of work for your food. You stand in line to order the food inside the door. Then you move down a bar to where they make the salad. They ask if you wish anything added or delete from the salad at this point and chop up the salad as you watch. You are handed the salad and then you shuffle down to a cash register where they accept your payment. To my surprise, there was a tip added to the bill that I had to manually change. I really don't have any idea who would be tipping and for what service? Then I was presented with a glass to go fill my soda at another station while carrying my salad. The charge for the soda was high at $3.49 and being self serve. I found it to be a disappointing experience all around. The salad when I finally started eating was just average and the soda I had tasted as if the water-syrup levels needed to be adjusted.

If you are looking for fast casual food with lots of plant based options (meats available also) this is a good choice for you! I had the farmhouse salad which was super yummy along with plain flatbread w olive oil and garlic. The others in my party crafted their own special combo salads suited to their dietary requirements. This is a nice option in our current world of extremely rigid diners. I'm sure a vegan, pescatarian, keto, gluten free, or omnivores could all put together meals here successfully. Service here is order behind a counter pick as you go along. They bring anything being cooked out to your table. They have a nice wine selection if you are looking for an added kick and plenty of interesting non alcohol choices as well. https://crushed-red.com/menu/ you can order online as well.

    Some of the brown lettuce

We had a couple salads delivered and I ordered Play Gloria. I really like this salad but not this time. Both salads contained a lot of brown lettuce. Inexcusable! After I picked out the brown lettuce I noticed they forgot to add the roasted chicken. I checked my receipt and I paid for the roasted chicken. Wow, this stinks. Very poor quality and poor execution!

Good concept, fun decor. We went to Crushed Red for lunch during a neighborhood gathering or event of some kind. Although the patio area and sidewalks were a madhouse the inside was fairly empty. The place is cute with an energetic vibe. The concept good...order and move down the line as your meal is made, making a few requests as you proceed to pay. We opted for 2 of the salad combos and followed our food as our salads were chopped and sandwiches prepped. After just a couple minutes the food arrived at our table. The portions were decent and the food looked fresh. A couple small notes... My pita was quite tough to bite through, and my plate was so narrow that as pieces kept falling off they went directly to the table...and since I don't eat off the table everything that fell off was lost. A wider plate would've been helpful. My daughter enjoyed her meal, but there were far too many Peruvian peppers in her salad. Overall I would say it's a good option for lunch. The service was friendly, portions good, and prices decent. Just a few things I would've changed.

Crazy expensive for a dwindling salad size. I paid $19 for a "regular" salad that is the equivalent of a small side salad at a restaurant.

During our latest visit, we ordered the chicken parmesan, lasagna, and rigatoni without lobster, and started with the arancini balls. Every dish was absolutely fantastic, but the real star of the night was the lasagna. This restaurant's lasagna is truly one of a kind and unlike anything you've probably tasted before. It's layered with pistachios, pesto, and squash, creating such a unique balance of creamy, nutty, and savory flavors. It was rich without feeling too heavy, and every bite felt incredibly comforting yet elevated at the same time. Definitely one of my favorite lasagnas ever. Their wine selection never disappoints either. I've also tried a couple of their bourbon cocktails, including the "For the Streets" and the "Black Manhattan," and both were amazing. The drinks are well-balanced, flavorful, and pair beautifully with the food.

We kicked things off with the toasted ravioli, and I can honestly say they are some of the best in St. Louis. You can tell they are handmade in-house--perfectly crispy on the outside with a delicious, savory filling that pairs beautifully with the marinara. We also shared the prosciutto di parma, which was sliced thin and had a wonderful, authentic flavor that set a high bar for the rest of the night. For the main course, we tried two very different but equally amazing dishes: Pepperoni Pizza: The addition of hot honey was a game-changer. It added a bold, spicy kick that balanced the salty pepperoni perfectly. Cacio e Pepe: This was truly spectacular. It's a simple dish that is hard to get right, but this was easily the best I've ever had outside of Rome. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the peppery flavor was throughout. To drink, we ordered the Old Dolce Vita, their unique take on an Old Fashioned. It was expertly crafted and really showed off their skills behind the bar--smooth, balanced, and a great companion to the meal. Our server was fantastic--attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, but also gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy our conversation. We never felt rushed, which made for a perfectly paced and memorable dinner. We will definitely be back

Before discussing the food, let's talk about what's most important, and that's our waitress Eve. Our table of four had many questions regarding food as well as wine, and Eve had thoughts and recommendations for everything. It was a pleasant change from other servers when Eve had some recs for things that weren't the most expensive items on the menu (we've all experienced the servers who only recommend the top dollar plates). Eve listened carefully to what we wanted and had appropriate and mindful suggestions. Eve knew all about the wines and helped us pair properly per plate. The rest of the staff that crossed paths with our table were kind and helpful as well. As for the food... the Truffle Agnolotti was as to die for! Omg. Amazing. Full of flavor yet not heavy. It was the star of the table. Lastly, we were impressed with the selection of appropriately priced wines by the glass.

My wife had the Shrimp Scampi. Huge shrimp (at least U10) and huge flavor. Couldn't have had a better experience. Will be going back soon. By the way, our companions noted how packed it was for a week night. It's that way for a reason... great food, excellent drinks, attentive service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We ordered for delivery, so I can't comment on service or atmosphere really, but my family who lives there said it's basically carry-out only, so I don't guess I missed much, lol. It was a very busy Saturday night and we got a huge order. It took over an hour for it to be made and delivered, but they did warn us about that wait time, so nbd lol. It came at around the time they promised, which is what matters most! My husband was excited to St. Louis style pizza and there were lots of pizzas to try. They arrived hot and fresh. I was still pretty full from our earlier dinner, but I tried one slice of what I belief was the margherita pizza. The cheese was super gooey, the crust was nice and crispy, and the olive oil base gave it a nice and rich feel. Good pizza! Everyone else was happy with their slices too. I will say the toppings are generally covered by cheese and so if you don't know what was ordered you might wind up with a bite of something you don't like (as was the case for my heat-averse aunt who got a big mouthful of jalapeño on one of her slices). Easy enough problem to avoid though! Grateful for local place that could feed a bunch of hungry people! Give Leo's a try. My family in St. Louis definitely enjoys it, as did I!
