Being in Baton Rouge for only a few days and having a tight schedule on top of that , I knew I could not leave without trying some local cajun cooking. I knew I found the right spot when I pulled up and the parking lot was full of local tags. To say the place was packed is an understatement. Regardless of the crowd, I placed my order for Seafood Gumbo, red beans and rice with sausage and okra and an order of Boudin Balls.. and no it was not all for me, but I was allowed to sample the sausage, Boudin Balls as well as the rice and red beans... Along with my Seafood Gumbo, it all had a great taste. Portions were large and the staff at the front counter was friendly and efficient ... There are a large number of cajun restaurants in Baton Rouge.. I want to try them all but I will make sure I get back to Crawford's the next time I am in Baton Rouge read more

This is a nice little family oriented restaurant. Great for lunch. Nice friendly waiters and staff. I last went on a Friday and there was a nice salad bar. I had the fish with cream sauce. I would have liked it over rice but it was good nevertheless. I like sweet drinks and the sweet tea was sweet just like I like it! Fast service. read more

Only been here once but had their food catered to my office, and OMG their food is delicious! The place doesn't look like much from the outside and honestly isn't that incredible on the inside, but there is plenty of seating and great service. They are locally owned, which I always prefer to support. Mostly Cajun deliciousness on the menu. My favorites include their fried catfish, fried okra, fried corn fritters, and their amazing smashed potatoes. Also, they have a soft serve ice cream bar that's all you can eat with your meal! I found this on Yelp as a checkpoint in my drive from Atlanta to Houston. I wanted to have some unassuming but good southern fry catfish. The restaurant seems to be close to I10 but there were a few turns to get there. The restaurant is in the middle of a shady area and I was worried about the parking safety a bit but nothing happened. Just tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. Even though it's on a major thoroughfare, it's easy to miss. If you're looking for good fried catfish or just classic Cajun cuisine I would suggest coming here! Like other reviews, the vibe is mom and pop but the food is delish! Service is great! You pay at the counter when you are done eating. There is a desert bar as well. I had the chicken fried steak dinner with two sides. I highly recommend the loaded mashed potatoes. Mac and cheese is also good! Will be returning soon! I hear the catfish is some of the best! All you can eat catfish weekdays for lunch and on Friday dinner and Saturday lunch. Passing through from Texas to Florida and we decided to give this cute stop a try and we are so glad we did. It was awesome! First, we self seated and shortly followed our server with menus immediately asking if we were looking for breakfast or lunch. With only 10 minutes left before they stopped serving breakfast, she quickly became attentive and even went out of her way to have my boyfriend look over a menu while he was waiting for our kid to come out of the bathroom. She was quick enough to help us make a choice and get the order in placed right on time. I ordered the Cajun Style Omelette and to say it was great would be an understatement. The only thing i would have wanted to add is a little more spicy heat to it but other than that it hit the spot. SOOO SATISFIED! The first time my husband and I tried to go here for lunch, we didn't eat there...because it was so crowded. That was a good sign to us! Although we'd never eaten there, we decided to order a catfish platter/ party tray for tailgating. It was the BEST! It had a lemony taste to it which made it even better. If you are looking for white tablecloths and fancy China or dinnerware, this is not the place for you. My family (party of 10) decided to get together for a Friday dinner. Service was very fast and super friendly. The owner, Ken, stopped by our table to check on us more than once. On Friday and Saturday evenings, they have all you can eat fried fish and shrimp. It comes with a side item and access to the salad and dessert bar. You also receive your choice of unlimited soup / seafood gumbo, étouffée or shrimp and corn soup. They also start you off with complimentary hush puppies. It is an incredible deal - $12.99. The fish and shrimp were seasoned well; especially the touch of lemon on the fish. The seafood gumbo wasn't bad, but the étouffée was really good. Our waitress was very attentive, even with such a large party. I will definitely return and was very pleased with my visit. I ate here like 4 years ago, the all you can eat catfish and fried shrimp. The value is amazing for the all you can eat, they give you so much and the quality is great. The service is great too and they make sure you are well fed. It was so good, I kept eating way past what my body could probably handle. Now I am just a small girl from california, but Louisiana food really hits different, and this place was a prime example of that. I ate so much I did not have a good time in the bathroom, however this is completely my fault and nothing on the restaurant. 10/10 would still stuff myself again until i blow up. read more

Try the blueberry pie! Crawfords is a great hole-in-the-wall Louisiana style restaurant. Their lunches are great and the place gets packed around noon. The "two" means it's the second Crawford's in Louisiana with the first being in Denham Springs. I had some jambalaya and their blueberry pie which was amazing. Ended up traveling 25mins across town to get here and was greeted kindly upon entry and promptly attended to. Ordered AYCE catfish and shrimp with okra and potato salad. Server asked if I wanted crawfish étouffée or gumbo. I asked for her advice and she brought me both! She brought out some delicious homemade hush puppies with my étouffée and gumbo with some especially good sweet tea. Gumbo definitely out scored the étouffée for me, but I finished both. Food came out within 6mins and though sides and shrimp were nothing to die for, the fish was everything I've read about. Asked for a little more fish and server came back with a freshly cooked bowel in about 3.5mins. SUPER QUICK!! Service and fish were a 10; while everything else was above average-exceptional as well.
