Minus four complimentary hush puppies that were eaten before I remembered to take the pic
    Aleeta P.

Oh my God! This place is wonderful! We were greeted in such a friendly manner as soon as we walk through the door and told "sit anywhere you want to". Once we chose the seat, the server came to us immediately. Everyone in the restaurant was so friendly and helpful and we were treated like old, familiar friends. The server brought warm hush puppies with lots of buttery spread. This was their complementary "bread". The hush puppies were delicious - crunching on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I couldn't stop eating them and almost forgot to take a picture before they were all eaten. After a couple of minutes we ordered and our food did not take long to come at all. My husband ordered the grilled chicken with fried sweet potato fries as his two sides, and I ordered a bowl of crawfish etouffee. Everything was flavorful and filling. We certainly enjoyed the food, down-home friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. We recommend it highly.

Shrimp po-boy is overflowing with good size shrimp. Well seasoned. I wasn't in the mood for fries. Mash and gravy is excellent!

I rarely give 5 stars. I've been looking for a decent po boy in Baton Rouge for a long time. Most are not good AT ALL! Out of the many many places, this is the absolute BEST! Bread= good and chewy. Stuffed with a ton of shrimp. The customer service was so excellent, that even if it was not that good, I'd go back and try something else. It was THAT good tho. Highly recommend Can't wait to go back and try something else.

A MUST GO !!! You must... you must ... you must. This was absolutely the best fried fish and shrimp plate I have had at a reasonable price point. I have been hearing about this place and had never been. I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT!! The lady that took my order was extremely helpful since this was my first visit. She suggested the combo plate and the sides. The green beans were great. Mac and cheese needed a little more seasoning, yet still good. The freshness of the seafood will make me return again. The restaurant is very cute. I didn't dine in this time.

Fried catfish. Moist, tender, flakey, delicious.

So glad we came here for lunch. Everyone was friendly. This is a down right southern soul filling food spot you need to try! Hush puppies were served upon sitting down as if they were dinner rolls. We even got another basket while we waited on our food. The catfish was . I haven't had such moist and flakey perfectly cooked fried catfish in so long. And the crawfish etouffee was delicious. It was nice that at the end of your meal, you could go to the back of their storage area where they have a running vanilla icecream machine that you can top your belly off with if you have any more room for it. It's like home.

If you are ever visiting LSU and are looking for a place to eat, I recommend Crawford's. The owners "spoke" when I walked in and that is all that I really need to feel at home. It was not too crowded and the wait for food was not long. The only thing that I would pass on are the corn fritters; I did not enjoy the cream corn filling inside. Other than that, everything from the hush puppies, fried shrimp, to the fried fish are great choices.

This is a family casual locally owned restaurant that's been around since the 1970 pr 80's. They have the best fried catfish in Louisiana hands down. They have breakfast and lunch and supper. They have hamburgers and sandwiches as well as lunch specials If you haven't tried them give them a try. You can also get the all you can eat fried fish filets and the also have whole fried catfish, Open 10 AM TO 8 PM BUT CLOSED SUNDAY & Monday

Hidden gem alert! My husband has been singing the praises of Crawford's for lunch on fridays he brews for a while and I finally tried it recently - wow! We both got the combo fish and shrimp platter and it was A TON of fresh seafood - the shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly and the fish was mild and delightful. You also get 2 sides with the platter so I got the side of greens and Mac and cheese and my husband got the fried okra and Mac. The greens needed a bit more seasoning but were perfectly cooked and very juicy. The mac is AMAZING. Also, don't sleep on the cocktail and tartar. A wonderful accompaniment to all this awesomeness. I will definitely be back!

Crawfords has amazing Cajun home cooking with amazing customer service' Mini was our server and has taken care of my Grandmother and Great Aunt for their weekly lunch outings at Crawfords. This time we were able to take my Grandmother to one of her favorite places and meet her sweet server. The food here is local cuisine that reminds me of my childhood. The prices are great too!! They also offer family size ordering to make it easy in large groups.... Or to take dinner home! The fried catfish is my grandmothers favorite. We all loved our choices. The kiddos also loved the soft serve ice cream in the back! Thanks Crawfords for your many years of service to the Baton Rouge community! I highly recommend and we will be back!

My God I looked at the reviews and thought this place would be good I couldn't of been more wrong the gumbo was pretty bad the étouffée was an edible and the only thing decent what is the grill chicken on the salad the service wasn't good place isn't really clean the bathroom looks terrible trust me don't come here.

Best. Catfish. Ever! The service is always friendly and with a smile. The atmosphere is perfect for a good family night out. Check the hours.... Catch them when they're open and you will be in heaven!.

Never new this little place existed in Baton Rouge. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. I visited for lunch and ordered the all you can eat shrimp and catfish. I wasn't a fan of the fish, but the shrimp had me wanting more. I literally ate all the shrimp I could, and visited this restaurant for the all you can eat shrimp three Fridays straight. No, I didn't ride to BR just for the shrimp, well maybe, I had business. The complimentary hush puppies were a welcomed treat while waiting for your food. The sides I enjoyed the most were the fried okra and regular fries. The sweet potato fries are good, if that is what you prefer. Until we meet again!

We were not wrong, the line was to the door. The slogans on the walls and everything in the restaurant was neat and well organized. I read the two comments on the chalk board and my expectation for high quality food increased significantly. Sadly, that would be it. Two registers looked available, but only one was working. The guy taking orders seemed new and friendly. Unfortunately, his conversation tended to move away from taking orders and trying to make small talk with the customers. This made waiting in line borderline intolerable, especially with the child behind me jumping up and down on the wall leading to the register (thank goodness one of the parents finally made her stop). Once at the register, it seemed that the guy was new (or newer) and struggled with the orders a little bit. After repeating my order a few times, he got it. We went to the "Jam Bar" for coffee and water. The sweetener was almost out, there was no cream and one urn was out (the lady was prepping the empty urn for new coffee). I commented about the cream, but was completely ignored by the employee. Another employee came up and I asked her about the cream. She pointed at the 4-5 single serve creamers there and said that was it. I asked about the metal pitcher and she said, "Oh yeah, that has some too." I told her it was empty. She looked confused and then picked it up and left. So, I just served old coffee in my cup that I had to go find since no one offered it to me ($3.50/cup, I would have assumed it would be pristine, but not so much and no one seemed concerned). Now to the meal: I ordered the Vicious Benny and Old School Breakfast. The Vicious Benny was mediocre at best. The ham and hollandaise were good, but the biscuit was grainy and the over easy egg was runny and a little slimy. And there wasn't a whole lot of taste to the meal. The OS Breakfast was much better, but still not a lot of flavor. The bacon was pretty good and flavorful. The eggs and potatoes were cooked well, just no seasoning. Overall, such a sad experience. Maybe my expectations were too high based on what I saw and the crowd when I went into the restaurant.

I called to place the order (4 meals: 2 salmon, 2 pasta with wings) on Wednesday afternoon for pickup on Friday at 11:30 (I also paid for it during the call). Total for four meals: $113.00 I arrived today at 11:38 AM, deciding on the way there that since they opened at 11:30 I would give them a few minutes to make sure the orders were ready to go since our lunch meeting was at noon. When I arrived, I gave them my name and told them I was there for the pickup order. The front person did not know what I was talking about. Another person (I assume the owner) told her that it was a call in, and that the order was on the side of the register (it was). I was told it would be a few minutes. At 11:47, the front person comes to me and asks if I was in a time crunch because they could deliver. I told her that I was and had to be back at 12. At 11:56, she comes back and asks me if I would like to substitute lamb chops for the salmon and there wouldn't be an addition charge. She said they had just put the salmon on the grill. At 11:56 - it had been almost 20 minutes since I had arrived to pick everything up. I told her no substitutions because the people who ordered salmon had dietary restrictions. There was no offer of a beverage while I waited, no additional updates on a time for my order or anything. At 12:12, I finally got the orders, an apology for the wait, and an offer to take a drink on the way out. All of that to find that the pasta was too salty. I didn't even eat most of the meal. If this were not a company-sponsored lunch, I would have cancelled the order and gone somewhere else. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I don't mind waiting for food, but this order was placed on Wednesday afternoon. Today is Friday - there is no excuse for my order not being at least halfway ready when I got there. I will not be returning, and my company will not be ordering from here again.

When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. Because I go here because of academic reasons, I would barely go here myself. I've been here many times and found it wanting. It's an ableist place in its infrastructure. It's fine I'm atmosphere as a cocktail bar but would little recommend it to people I call friend.
