Crawfish Etouffeé (Small)

Love this place! Food is amazing for a good price. Service was excellent! The ambiance was ok.

Crystal R.

First time knowing this was in SPM and my first time trying it. I got the pound of shrimp and pound of crawfish, you have to add all of your veggies. There is nothing included. I was disappointed to find out nothing was included but I added potatoes, corn and sausage. The flavor was very good. The medium is pretty spicy and I will say there is a tad of sweetness to it that I was not expecting but was not off-putting. Service was nice, they only come check on you occasionally as to not interrupt your experience. Drinks were always refilled and this is some place I would come back to visit when I'm craving a seafood boil. It's a classic boil restaurant with paper on the table and a country Cajun feel.

Oysters on the half shell

Heard rave reviews about this place especially the oysters. Also a favorite of my GF's kiddos. So, we decided to check it out with them. We arrived just before opening; hung out at the front door with the sign blinking open. Once inside they told us another 15 minutes as they were behind on prep. Took the rest of our party a few minutes to arrive so we weren't too worried. Drinks were provided quickly; we did forage for our own menus while we waited. First thing I noticed is most are the apps are small but equally cheap. I mean, who takes the time to put only 8 mushrooms in the deep fryer? Or how about 4 hushpuppies for $1.80? I'm baffled, thinking they went and stole the add on prices for extra at Long John Silvers. Truthfully, most of the fried stuff is straight outa the food service truck. And, those cheap apps are only there to entice you into spending your weekly paycheck on pricier food. Some of my raw oysters suffered from sediment meaning they weren't properly cleaned. The diablo shrimp should have been grilled or griddled instead of time in the deep fryer with all the other apps. Boudin balls were super tough. One member of our table never received her wings; that was to be her entree. I did find the crawfish etouffee acceptable with a light blonde roux. Only a few dashed of tabasco made it a solid dish. And now, they 2lbs of Cajun snow crab legs. Possibly some of the best I've had and the redeeming quality for my two star review. Service started out OK and got worse as our meal progressed. Refills started great and then it was down to waiving and asking. I appreciate the restaurant's tenure but I've noticed even some of their regulars have started to complain on yelp in recent months. We spent over $200 with tip; that doesn't jive with the food offered and the venue. Next time we'll just head over to Pappadeaux.

Mexican martini

We dined here Friday evening around 6:30pm. This was my first time here and last. The restaurant was decently full but no wait. Ambience ok- sort of a seafood nautical mixed with sports bar feel. We read the reviews before we went in, so I knew it could be hit or miss depending on what you order. Most reviews only complained about the oysters and raved about the crawfish. If you make it before 7pm they have happy hour food and drink specials. I ordered a Mexican martini for $5.50 and the hubby ordered the house margarita for $3. We were seated at a booth in the back with a nice window view. This is pretty much the end of my positives. We ordered jalapeño poppers. They were your basic, bought out the frozen food section and dropped in grease poppers, nothing fancy. My Mexican martini was awful- someone had poured a ton of olive juice in it. The house margarita just tasted like mixer. My hubby ordered the shrimp po boy and Cajun wings. His wings were slightly burnt but at least temperature hot. His shrimp on the po boy were hot but the french bread was hard and tough. I ordered the tilapia platter, fried, with Cajun fries. My food was completely cold! Fish batter was bland with no seasoning and tasted slight burnt also. Meanwhile my husband kept mentioning there were ants crawling on the window we were sitting next to. My son accidentally dropped a French fry on the floor. When I went down to pick it up, the floor was swarming with ants and the fry was covered as well as other food particles. I was completely grossed out at this point. My camera pics don't do it justice. We advised the server and asked for our check. He just looked at us like we had three heads and walked away for the check. No apologies or anything. He then brought the check and disappeared. Luckily we had cash so we could easily pay and leave. Typically I like to address these issues with management but I was tired with a toddler so I needed to leave.

Fried fish basket with onion rings

Food was good, server was informative and friendly . We arrived pretty late to celebrate my daughter in law birthday. I called a couple of hours prior to arrival to inform we would be coming in and I requested the group to sing Happy Birthday to her. (Which they usually do) I was told absolutely; However, even after I reminded the front hostess when we arrived and told my waiter... the song never happened.

One of them seated us right away. The restaurant has a roadhouse atmosphere with a variety of seating such as tables, booths, and a bar. After being seated we were greeted by a friendly waiter that did a great job taking care of us the entire time. He took our drink order and then allowed us time to look at the menu. My son ordered a Tropical Breeze mocktail drink. He enjoyed it. I tried it and it was a little too sweet for me. When our waiter returned to take our order he brought us some bread and took our order. The bread was really good. It was soft and hot to the point that the butter would melt on it. For our starter we ordered the cactus blossom to share. It was okay. It was a little greasy but it's a fried onion. The onion strings inside of the fried batter were a decent size and when you add the dipping sauce it was an okay starter. For my meal I ordered the steak kabob. I subbed the rice for a loaded baked potato as one side and a house salad with honey mustard dressing as my other side. The salad was okay as it had fresh ingredients and the dressing added flavor. The baked potato was good. I ordered it withsour cream, bacon, and cheese. The bacon was a good size, the cheese was plentiful, and the sour cream added a little extra flavor. When mixed it made a good side. The steak kabob was really good. The grilled vegetables and the steak were delicious. Overall Texas Roadhouse was a good place to enjoy a dinner celebration. They have a roadhouse atmosphere with friendly service and good food.

I had about a 10 min wait, and I was dreading the service due to the sheer volume patrons. Well, I get seated and it just takes off from there. Their service is phenomenal. They definitely "overstaff" by any other restaurants standard, and it makes a huge difference. I didn't wait for drinks, I didn't wait to be asked for my order (a few times), and I didn't wait to close out. They're on top of it, and it's exactly the kind of service that is lacking almost everywhere. The food. The portions are big, and the prices are low. Their steaks were surprisingly good, their ribs were falling off the bone, and their sides were meh... not the best, but that's not a problem. For me, one meal, is two meals. They are portioned well above the price point. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. Good service goes a long way, and this place shines in that department. You get what you pay for, and that's also something that's rare. Especially in this economy. Yes... the roles and butter were top notch

The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the Indian music playing in the background creates a calm, authentic dining experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always happy to accommodate your preferences. The butter chicken is especially smooth and comforting, while the chicken tikka masala is packed with bold, well-balanced flavor. If you're someone who loves spicy food, they don't hold back! I usually order spice level 5, and trust me--it brings the heat, so order accordingly! I need to come back and take updated photos because it's been a while, but if I still lived on the south side, this would absolutely still be one of my regular restaurants. Highly recommended!

The ambience is not super polished by that is not must for me with sushi. The soup and salad was brought out first at the same time. The soup was really tasted and had a lot going in on it compared to most miso soups you get. The salad was all the sad white parts of an iceberg lettuce head with a dressing that was more creamy than the soy/ginger orange one most sushi places have. The chirashi came out with the fish place directly on the rice rather than separately in a stacked serving box with the rice below and the sushi on a plate above that. Their yelp pics showed it presented like this in the past. Guess they ran out or loss those? The fish was really good with the tuna and salmon being the highlight. Nice thick cuts with really good tenderness and freshness. I will be going back again for the chirashi and super friendly service.

I ordered takeout and picked it up, but the inside is cute and I would definitely dine in. This is exactly the type of sushi place I have been looking for! Great takeout sushi - not expensive, not fancy date night sushi, but just good sushi with good prices! They have a dinner deal that I think was $18??! It included THREE rolls with soup and salad! That's what I'm talking about! I got the spicy tuna (least favorite), salmon avocado (top fav), and yellowtail rolls (2nd fav). I will order this again. I loved the creamy ginger dressing on the salad too even though it is just iceberg lettuce. Miso soup was great too. My fiance enjoyed the chicken yakisuba noodles. Prices are right and portions are big! Definitely my new takeout sushi spot. Can't wait to try some of their specialty rolls next time or the bento box!
