Frosted chocolate brownie
Mary H.

Delicious sandwiches, chicken salad, pimento cheese and other items! The frosted chocolate brownie is one of the best brownies I've had in my 34 years of life!!!! Took multiple home to freeze and have when back home. People there are super friendly as well. Ask for extra zesty sauce if you get a sandwich. 10/10 delicious!

Cute Lil shop! Lots of unique trinkets/gifts for birthdays and holidays! From cocktail lovers to aspiring writers to dog lovers to everything/everyone you can think of! I had to make laps around the store in fear I was going to miss something! Only downfall was the fact the restaurant was closed..... I guess it gives me a reason to come back! I really wanted to try their sandwich. They only have street parking available. Not sure about public bathrooms.

Tazewell Sandwich

My friend and I took a day trip to Cape Charles. After walking the trails in Kiptopeke Park, we wanted to get something easy for lunch. She had looked up this place and suggested some grab and go sandwiches and I was all for it. The sandwiches are $9 and I had the HARDEST time choosing just one. They all looked and sounded so delicious. I went with the Tazewell, which they stated was their best seller. The staff was so friendly, talking me through the sandwiches and daily prep. The croissant bread is baked fresh every morning. I was eyeballing the Cronuts but didn't get them. I did hear a lady walk buy on the sidewalk eating one and she exclaimed, "OMG best thing I've ever had!" This was the most satisfying sandwich and it hit the spot! I will definitely be back to try a different one next time I'm there!

This is a cute little shop that doubles as a sandwich shop in the back. While I didn't eat here, I did drop by to browse their shopping selection when I was in town. If you are in the area and need to assemble a full gift, this is the place to do it. Located in Downtown Cape Charles on their main street, Cravings has a surprisingly large selection of inventory. You could seriously purchase your card, wrapping paper and gift here! I was absolutely obsessed with their collection of kitschy feminist ornaments (?) that I pictured below. Such clever gifts. For being here on an "off" time for Cape Charles, I was surprised how crowded it was. The store is colorful, impeccably organized and has no shortage of goodies to explore. It's clearly a local favorite! Plan your visit accordingly and you will almost certainly walk out with some excellent treasures.

Table & Tonic and, all the way in the back, Cravings, what some people are craving is seems.

I love the concept of the restaurant and, to pull you into the restaurant, you have to check out Tonic & Table gift shop first (or vice verse). The quality of the food was amazing and the staff were mostly very friendly. Even the pricing is reasonable. Although my only complaints are probably part of the concept, I was a little surprised that all the food is grab and go (unless I am misunderstanding that bit), so they don't actually make any food for you specifically; it is still surprisingly fresh and tasty for grab and go though. The worst thing, though, was no seating inside, and the space inside (at Cravings / Table & Tonic) was pretty tight. That'd be great if, down the road, they intend on moving to a bigger location one day. I had to eat at 1 of the 4 benches in the front so close to 3 other people (on the bench next to me) that I felt like I was with them, and all 4 of us noted how many flies there were all over us while eating. Only mentioned that last sentence to note how the "no inside eating" was an actual issue. For me, possibly the best restaurant in Cape Charles (everything else was either closed at the moment or looked too high-priced), but even the best isn't always perfect, at least not at the moment.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a whimsical, nautical meets industrial interior. Think exposed brick, quirky elephant and octopus artwork, and cozy seating that feels both inviting and upscale. It's the kind of place where you'll want to linger over your meal and soak in the unique ambiance. As for the food, it did not disappoint. I started with the Ale & Onion Soup, and wow. This was comfort in a bowl! The robust flavor of Guinness melded perfectly with the caramelized onions, and the bubbling gruyère on the toasted bread points just took it over the top. It was savory, rich, and perfect for the chilly day. My friend went for the She Crab Soup, and couldn't stop raving about it. Creamy and absolutely packed with local crab meat. The puffed oyster crackers and a sprinkle of Old Bay were the ultimate finishing touch. I managed to sneak a bite, and it was heavenly! We also asked the bartender for a fun cocktail, and they whipped up a bright, lemony drink that was as refreshing as it was beautiful. It was perfectly balanced and not too sweet, served with a citrus twist. Service was great. Friendly, attentive without hovering, and happy to make recommendations. If you're in Cape Charles and looking for a spot that nails both food and atmosphere, you can't go wrong here. Already planning my next visit!

It's a quaint little shop where you can buy fresh seafood, groceries, as well as different pastries and other dishes at the deli counter. I was originally in the mood for an Italian sandwich, but after speaking with the employee working the counter, I got a Shrimo Po' Boy because he said "The way we make em here, you won't find anywhere else." After one bite, I realized exactly what he meant; the shrimp were so fresh that I just knew they were caught straight out of the Cheseapeake Bay that same morning. I was also a fan of the thinly sliced French fries. I got a lemon square to eat after my sandwich, and it was also so good that I grabbed a slice of rainbow cake to go. The rainbow cake was good, but a tad dry, so definitely go for the lemon square if you're looking for a dessert here. All in all, the beach market is a great stop for anybody looking for a quick bite to eat or to support a local grocer in Cape Charles.

They served tasty and hearty corn and crab chowder. Growing up, I was a sucker for old-school steak fries. These are not them. They may appear to be fat steak fries at first glance, but they're better. Just a wide as steak fries but sliced ribbon-thin and very well seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and maybe a little parmesan. And if you enjoy a thick fat Italian sub, this is it. The bread was a crusty ciabatta roll. What made the difference for me on this Italian sub was that it was nicely toasted... holy smokes! The Beach Market is, indeed, a market, too. If you have a refined tastes in wine and other food delicacies do not miss out!

We popped in for a casual beer break, and it quickly turned into one of the highlights of the day. The space itself is gorgeous! It's open, airy and designed with a laid-back coastal vibe that fits Cape Charles perfectly. You order both beer and food inside at the counter, which keeps things easy and low- key. I went with the Pilsner, and it was exactly what I wanted, perfect after a day out exploring. Their beer list has something for everyone, whether you're into lighter options or something with a bit more depth. We didn't order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked incredible. They've got plenty of options like burgers, nachos, and other brewery favorites that definitely seemed worth trying next time. What really stood out was the atmosphere. There was so much going on in the best way. They had a dog adoption event happening outside while we were there, which added such a fun, community-driven vibe. They also host live music and other events regularly, so it feels like there's always something to check out. The outdoor space is huge and perfect if you're with a group or bringing kids. There's a fire pit, games like cornhole, and plenty of room to spread out and hang for a while. Definitely the kind of place you plan to stop at for one drink and end up staying much longer. I will be adding this to my must visit list anytime I'm on the Eastern Shore.

My bestie and I ordered the crab cake sandwich. The sandwiches come with fries, but I chose to sub the fries for onion rings. There is an up-charge for onion rings instead of french fries. I would have ordered an extra side of onion rings if I had prior knowledge of the up-charge. In addition, I ordered a Hefeweizen for a summer beverage. It was alright, I would have loved to sample a few beers. I am looking forward to trying a few other beers next visit. The vibe was hometown relaxation and family friendly. Outside dining looked great for a cooler afternoon or evening.
