Then, we took the scenic way back on the eastern shore of VA and stayed at Cape Charles Motel just outside Cape Charles, VA on US 13. The next morning we checked out of the motel. I was annoyed the night before as I had thought there was some sort of breakfast included when I was asking about the times of the breakfast, and he said they didn't have there. So, we ventured into town for Cape Charles Coffee House. It's a cute, historic place with an upstairs area with additional seating. The brunch & coffee was solid & nice staff, but I do remember it took awhile to get the food. Perhaps, they were on Cape Charles time as opposed to DC-Baltimore area time I'm used to...haha. Bar seating is first come, first served, but there are only six seats. There's a beautiful patio overlooking the marina where you can enjoy drinks (no food service on the patio). It's an intimate space with around 10 tables, making for a cozy dining experience. It's a 12-and-up restaurant, perfect for a relaxing date night or an adults-only evening out. When we stopped in around 6pm on a Friday there was no one here and the friendly and patient lady serving the goods was happy to answer questions about flavors and menus and after much back and forth my husband and I chose two flavors to swirl into one cup together: a coffee cappuccino flavor and black cherry. It was SO good! Large portion in a cup - easily enough for two people to share and price is fair at around $4.50. We liked it so much we came back again after dinner the next night, just as good, same friendly lady, same wonderful service. This is an easygoing, no-nonsense spot with cute seating outside and some great flavor combos as well as some other items.
