This is a decent place to stop in, especially if you're on the road. We found the Harbor area to be slam-full with waits. So we headed back up the highway as we saw this when we came in. Food was pretty good. I had the Texas Brisket sandwich, which was good, it wasn't overdone with sauce, spice and the meat was cooked right. Down in Hampton Roads they would have this smothered and too sweet! The fries were WAY over salted though with sea salt. The Pulled Pork was well balanced too, nothing crazy going on, which was nice. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was very quiet. We were surprised to not see more people in there on a Friday afternoon, on Highway 13. We were the only customers once the people before us left. Anyway, worth checking out. Easy fixins both affordable and convenient if you're local or taking a break from the road.

Wow I was hoping for a good experience but it wasn't to be. I had a combo with brisket and sausage. Let's start with the sides. Beans were pretty good. The cheese grits were excellent. Sausage was ok. Not much smoke flavor at all. The brisket was the worst I have ever had. It was dry dry dry and so tough it was difficult to cut. It was a major disappointment. I could not recommend this place.

The staff, Kasey, Michelle, ivy, and Jennifer all super friendly. Amazing place to go get a couple drinks, shoot some pool, and enjoy some really good food all at the same time.

I was in the area working and stopped to try some BBQ. Sure glad we did. I ordered the 3 protein dinner. Sliced brisket, pulled chicken, the sausage. All three were delicious. The brisket has a great smoked flavor with a great seasoning. Not a great fan of pulled pork so I got the pulled chicken, which was very good nice and tender good portion. Along with the sausage they had great taste and a little bit of kick to it. Add the great smoked mac & cheese, along with coleslaw and their baked beans and you have a delicious dinner. If you're running down Langford Highway and you like barbecue, I would definitely recommend you stop here. My understand is they have a great selection of beer also, but we got our food to go.

I was happy the yelp reviews did not disappoint us. I got burnt end meat. So juicy and tender. I highly recommend it. With + $9 for 2 sides. We had corn pudding (really good) and Smokey turkey collard greens (a little salty). chicken nuggets were very good. Tasted so fresh and juicy. Many sauces on table for you to try. Self re-fill beverage station (love they have unsweetened tea choice). Both Air-conditioned dining area and outdoor dining. Clean and efficient. The staff were so nice and friendly.

We had to put in the order at the counter first before grabbing a table in one of the shack style sitting areas. They had 7 different styles of meat and 9 different sides. They also sold snack, house made sauces and some merchandises of their brand. I ordered the 2 meat platter with beef brisket and chopped beef. Within few minutes of ordering, they brought the order out to the table. I liked the chopped beef but didn't like the brisket. Tried the burned end also that was good actually. The chicken nuggets I got for my daughter were the best. They were so tasty. The side of corn pudding was also excellent. The shack we sat in was really hot since there was no AC, just a normal fan was blowing air. It was self service so we got the utensils, soda and water. They had ketchup, vinegar, mustard, bbq and white sauces available in the condiment area. Overall it was a decent spot but bbq meat fell short in taste for me.

He was so welcoming and so sweet to our daughter, while taking our order he asked her what she wanted which I thought was sweet that he included her and joked with her. Pulease, tell me why everyone is giving this restaurant 5-star reviews…read more I was recently looking for a restaurant with BBQ beef ribs and came across 'Smoke'. I looked at the reviews and knew I had to give it a try. When we arrived, my wife and I were quickly seated by the Host. And then we waited. And waited. About 10 min later, I told the Host that we had not seen a waitress yet. He was apologetic and promised to find them for us. A few minutes later, the Waiter showed up and took our orders. I fully planned to order the beef ribs, but the cost of $38 was so far outside the norm that I just couldn't do it. (They actually have a sampler platter that costs $66!!) I ended up ordering the half BBQ chicken, BBQ beans and potato salad. My wife ordered the pulled pork platter, sweet potato fries and Mac & Cheese. Both orders came out quickly, but the first thing I noticed about my dinner was that I was having to 'saw' my chicken to eat it. Most BBQ chicken I have ordered at other restaurants is tender to falling apart. But this one definitely fought back, and though the flavor was not bad, I kept having to add the table-side BBQ sauce (which was good) to flavor it. The beans were nothing special- they were BBQ beans. Frankly the best part of my order was the potato salad which was quite good - a bit more mayonnaisey than normal potato salad, but I found that I actually liked that aspect of it. A couple of times during the meal, the waiter stopped by to see if we needed anything which was good to see. My wife said her pulled pork was okay but also needed supplemental BBQ sauce. She said the Mac and cheese was good, but that the sweet potato fries were overcooked. She ended up not eating them which is very unusual for her. Towards the end of the meal, I ran out of tea and started looking for the waiter. When he did show up, I asked for a refill. He disappeared for an interminable amount of time and then finally returned with our bill. I was still sitting there with an unfinished meal and an empty glass, and still had to remind him that I still needed a refill, and had been waiting for it for a while. He admitted that he had forgotten it, but then actually sat down next to us, seeming to have problems entering our bill in their handheld 'point of sale' device. I asked him again if he could get my drink first. He finally handed me the device to pay the bill and dashed off. He was gone a while again, with me still waiting on my drink. I finally just gave up finishing the meal without something to wash it down with. The Waiter finally came back with a 'tea to go' for me. Though I had planned to order desert for the two of us, we just paid the bill and left, checking off one more restaurant that does not understand that they are in the food AND customer service business. So again, someone tell me why everyone is giving this restaurant 5-stars.

If they had they would have heard about missing beer menus, dirty/greasy salt grinders, dead flies littering the window sills next to the tables, slow and disinterested service and a seeming lack of interest of the staff in anything but chatting with each other. County Grill in Yorktown has always been one of our go-to restaurants but unfortunately is fell very short today. We got in early, before the afternoon rush, around 3:45 pm. We were seated quickly in a booth along the front windows and our waitress came over and got us started with cornbread muffins and took our drink order. I did ask for the paper beer list that they always have due to their extensive taps but none were available, a first for me. Neither our waitress or the hostess could explain why they didn't have the normal beer list. I ordered a beer and when asked if I also wanted water like my wife, I said yes. My wife's water showed up almost immediately, mine must have been forgotten but thankfully my beer showed up a short time later. We ordered our dinner, a brisket platter with coleslaw and baked beans and my wife ordered pulled pork. We were one of only two tables in the entire main dining room when we ordered and throughout our meal but waited a surprisingly long time for our food to arrive. When it did arrive, the food looked, smelled and tasted great. The brisket I received was from the tail end of the brisket and was very thin compared to slices from the other end of the brisket I've usually received. I still received the same exact number of smaller slices I usually receive from the bigger end. Not all brisket slices are created equal and today's fell short. My wife used the salt grinder on the table and it was dirty and greasy to the point she had to excuse herself to go wash her hands. While she was gone I noticed the collection of dead flies on the window sill along our booth. Things were just dirty, makes you wonder about cleanliness in areas you can't see as a customer. Although there were a lot of staff in the kitchen and in front of the kitchen none seemed interested in anything but chatting with each other. The exception to that would be our waitress who was very interested in talking to the one other occupied table in the dining room. We had finished dinner and were waiting to pay our bill and get a to-go box for some of the coleslaw. Our waitress was deeply involved in a conversation with the other table and we waited an extended period of time. The multitude of other servers in front of the kitchen had no interest in breaking free to see if we needed anything. Finally our waitress made it back over to our table with the electronic payment machine out, handed it off to me and headed off to find a to-go container, even that seemed to take longer than it should have. Maybe Q-Daddy's is worth a try, maybe they still care and want to prove they want your business and not just ride on prior reputation.
