To my surprise, Crave was good. I would recommend it. The sandwiches were super messy though. Everything fell out after one bite. I loved that the fries came out SUPER hot. Perfect! There were a few things that did not sit well with me. The service was basically non existent. She seemed to be more comfortable talking to the cooks. Only Answered the questions that we had but that we had. No "hi" or anything. I did my ordering myself and the order portal asked if I wanted to leave a tip. There was a tip jar on the counter as well. We had to go around the counter to grab the drinks from what the employee said. It made me super uncomfortable doing so, right next to the register and all. In other businesses, it wouldn't be the case. There was no ice cream person, so we couldn't try anything. It seems to be a pit stop for lunch for high school kids, so definitely get there before 11. I asked for no lettuce and no tomato per receipt, and this was not done. Very disappointed in the timing and not following order instructions. Came here on a Saturday afternoon after a night of partying. Of course, after drinking, I was craving (no pun intended) a substantial (and somewhat healthy) lunch. I've tried the Kung Fu Panda, Kim Possible, and Goku, all with Dutch crunch bread - the first time I ordered Kung Fu Panda and Kim Possible (and the workers threw in a few free lollipops into the bag), and the second time I got the Goku only. I can't believe it's not Ike's! Overall not a bad sandwich spot. Like Ike's, you get the numerous meat and veggie options with their fancy names; the Dutch crunch; and the pricing that tracks inflation a little too well. But I went in hearing Crave was better than Ike's, and I left feeling like I had been to an off brand replica of the real thing. Even the menu in the store felt lifeless compared to Ike's fresh fonts (though, credit-where-due, Crave's music playlist is excellent). 15 dollars for a full sub after a 20% discount was not fantastic pricing, and though the sub was massive, it felt almost too bloated, especially with the thick Dutch Crunch permeating it all. Perhaps it would be an eat half and save half for later deal if the sandwich weren't so messy to eat. Lots of sauce flying everywhere; a Mezzo salad in a portable plastic box, this is not. I got the Spongebob and it didn't taste bad. Vegan meats are always somewhere between artificial and satisfying, and it was overall a straightforward savory feel. In fact, crave has so many options that it is hard to decide. We ended up getting boondocks and Patrick star (they're all named after comic/cartoon characters). I think you could just close your eyes and pick anything and it will be good. Normally they have an automated kiosk for ordering, but it was down when we visited so we ordered at the counter. I love crave subs! I am so grateful for the wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. I believe I got the vegetarian samurai sandwich which came with lettuce, tomato, avocado, provolone, vegan chicken, and a sweet chili sauce. The sandwich was huge which I will never complain about. The food is not why I gave them 2 stars. The Patrick Star were flavorful had it not been drenched in sauce which made the fried chicken soggy. The curly fries were good but could have been crisper. Although I've never heard of crave subs, their prices looked very reasonable and their sandwiches seemed like they would be pretty good. Everyone working there was really friendly and the cashier took my order, which was for one of their chicken sandwiches. My wife and son shared a larger chicken sandwich. I think it was called the Tom and Jerry. Cute name that brings back childhood memories watching cartoons on Saturday mornings. The outside of the restaurant has a nice view of the main street and they had plenty of outdoor seating. My favorite parts of the sandwich was the tender juicy flavor of the chicken along with the perfect crisp of the Dutch crunch bread. I really enjoyed eating this sandwich and finished it pretty quickly. It left me feeling full and satisfied without breaking the bank which is a plus. My only suggestion is that they temper back some of the sauce. There was so much of their house sauce on there that it overshadowed the natural flavor of the chicken and made the sandwich kind of soggy towards the end. It wasn't enough to prevent me from thoroughly enjoying the sandwich, but I would have preferred a little less sauce. If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat that won't set you back hundreds of dollars, stop by crave subs and you won't be disappointed. For each sandwich, you can also pick the bread, i.e. sourdough, wheat, gluten free, french, and dutch crutch. And if you feel like it, pair the sandwich up with the sides (tater tots, wings, etc), chips, and beverages that they offer! Food-wise, place is just as good as I last remembered. Sandwiches are humongous, great value for ~$10. Quality and quantity is definitely much better than your average Subway. Each sandwich is packed with generous amounts of veggies and meat. There's also plenty of sauce in each bite, provides great flavor! Only reason why I'm taking off a star is because the sandwiches we ordered were soggy; wrapper practically was a mop sopping all the liquid/juices from the sandwich. Would I come back? Definitely!
