Never been there for lunch, always breakfast. Nearly forgot they offer burgers! The lemon blueberry pancakes are to die for! And I'm not a pancake guy. Prefer French toast or waffles. This small chain with 3 locations does a damn good breakfast with everything from omelettes to eggs bennys to of course a stack of pancakes. I had a Veggie Omelette topped with Avocado and served with cubed home fries with onions and peppers, along with an English Muffin. Not to miss out on the pancakes We ordered a lemon blueberry (excellent but wish it had more lemon flavor, like a lot more but it was an excellent pancake. Biscuits were freshly made and tasted pretty good. Not flaky, but nice. The gravy unfortunately let it down. It was very pasty & tasted very generic, almost identical to Carls Jr. A shame. The omelet ( I had a denver) was nice. Nothing overcooked, good flavor. The pancakes. A place that is known for these has to be amazing right? Not exactly, they were huge. But they were also strangely rubbery & dense. The server was friendly & attentive. I'm aware this all comes off as being overly picky, but when you spend $26 I'm going to be. In its honor, I too, will write this review without the forbidden letter (from now on...man, that's hard). C&S is classic diner food well executed, in considerable quantities, and with excellent service. In these labor scarce times, it's impressive how well this place has kept the level of service so attentive. Servers came by multiple times to check in and keep the coffee fresh. They were also sincere and friendly. We love that! Prices are quite reasonable, because you'll fill up and possibly take an extra meal home, dependent on your appetite. Other tables seemed to focus on their pancakes, which I am sure they do well, but our table was keen to try more savory options and decided on their Benedict and the Country Fried Steak. Both were wonderful and I'd recommend the hashbrown option that they do very well. A side note on the pancakes. You can customize the crap out of your stack. There are 15 or so *batters* and also a similar set of toppers (think: fruit, sauces and such). Yeah, it looks more like dessert, but knock yourself out. The coffee was fine. Not distinctive, but serviceable for a diner. We'll be back to Crackin' & Stackin' next time we're in the neighborhood for Brekkie! read more

Really wanted to give this place a better review. Everything was decent. Nothing great. Nothing bad. Ordered country fried steak. The potatoes it came with were the ones you can buy in the frozen section and cook in the oven. The peppers and onions they mix in made it better. The steak was a somewhat small patty. You could also get one of those from the freezer section. Came with eggs. Ordered them over medium and they were barley over-easy. Thought the lemon blueberry pancakes would be better but idk if the batter was fresh because the pancakes were chewy and hard to cut with a knife. Good flavor though. Food came out super quick, the inside was spotless, and the waiting staff were all very friendly. The food was 2 stars but everything else made it a 3. Overall everything was just decent. read more

Owner / Hostess Erica Cordova is a rude, dishonest person. Went here because grandma and mom wanted to try it. We had 8 in our party and when arriving we were told in snippy tone that it would be an hour wait, which was fine, we expected that on Mother's Day. Then at almost 40 min we noticed large parties of 7 that checked in after us were being seated before us. We requested politely to know why and were told it hadnt been an hour yet and those parties checked in before us. I looked at the waiting list and these parties were clearly after us and we saw them check in. Point one liar. Erica then told to us to go outside and said she didnt have to seat us at all, because we questioned her seating priority. Then on her way back inside she yelled never come back. Nice way to treat mothers on Mother's day. If they didnt want to seat a large party they could have just told us when we checked in. Point two rude and disrespectful. Went to Black Bear where we we treated curtiously and seated in 20 minuntes even though the place was packed. Moms got carnations in celebration of Mother's day and food much better *To owner's reply below: Owner's lies are again on display. No one in our party mistreated the staff, as the only person we had interaction with was Erica Cordova. She was smirking the whole time she was telling us that we would not be seated and the only reason she gave was that we had impuned her by asking about the timing of being seated, which we did politely before she asked us to step outside. We are in town for a tournament and my son had a hankering for French Toast. We popped in around 10am on a Monday morning and could not believe how busy it was! Service was amazing. The hostess took great care in cleaning a booth for us, and was ver prompt. She said she needed to wash her hands before seating us and this germ-a-phone appreciated the care. Our waitress was kind and prompt and let me order off the senior menu. Our breakfasts were solid, served hot and quickly! Prices were reasonable. Now in Medford and in great location. Glad to see the building come back and to be able to offer outdoor seating. Breakfast, brunch or lunch really can't go wrong with any choice. Staff very friendly and was very busy with a 15min waiting list at the time of visit. Ate outside under pop up tent with heaters so was not bad, but the food got cold quicker. Food is just like the other two locations and will be nicer when you can sit inside again. Pancakes are huge, as big as the plate so be warmed if ordering more then one! We had eggs Benedict which were very good, french toast with nice big pieces and they even gave us extra powdered sugar and meat pancakes with bacon and sausage cooked into the pancake.
