I had a Veggie Omelette topped with Avocado and served with cubed home fries with onions and peppers, along with an English Muffin. There are 3 things I believe a breakfast spot has to nail down. Pancakes, biscuits & gravy & omelets. Which is what I ordered when I visited. Biscuits & gravy first. Biscuits were freshly made and tasted pretty good. Not flaky, but nice. The gravy unfortunately let it down. It was very pasty & tasted very generic, almost identical to Carls Jr. A shame. The omelet ( I had a denver) was nice. Nothing overcooked, good flavor. The pancakes. A place that is known for these has to be amazing right? Not exactly, they were huge. But they were also strangely rubbery & dense. The server was friendly & attentive. I'm aware this all comes off as being overly picky, but when you spend $26 I'm going to be. Crackin' & Stackin' serves its customers breakfast and lunch, and all without the letter 'G'. In its honor, I too, will write this review without the forbidden letter (from now on...man, that's hard). C&S is classic diner food well executed, in considerable quantities, and with excellent service. In these labor scarce times, it's impressive how well this place has kept the level of service so attentive. Servers came by multiple times to check in and keep the coffee fresh. They were also sincere and friendly. We love that! Prices are quite reasonable, because you'll fill up and possibly take an extra meal home, dependent on your appetite. Other tables seemed to focus on their pancakes, which I am sure they do well, but our table was keen to try more savory options and decided on their Benedict and the Country Fried Steak. Both were wonderful and I'd recommend the hashbrown option that they do very well. A side note on the pancakes. You can customize the crap out of your stack. There are 15 or so *batters* and also a similar set of toppers (think: fruit, sauces and such). Yeah, it looks more like dessert, but knock yourself out. The coffee was fine. Not distinctive, but serviceable for a diner. We'll be back to Crackin' & Stackin' next time we're in the neighborhood for Brekkie! read more

Really wanted to give this place a better review. Everything was decent. Nothing great. Nothing bad. Ordered country fried steak. The potatoes it came with were the ones you can buy in the frozen section and cook in the oven. The peppers and onions they mix in made it better. The steak was a somewhat small patty. You could also get one of those from the freezer section. Came with eggs. Ordered them over medium and they were barley over-easy. Thought the lemon blueberry pancakes would be better but idk if the batter was fresh because the pancakes were chewy and hard to cut with a knife. Good flavor though. Food came out super quick, the inside was spotless, and the waiting staff were all very friendly. The food was 2 stars but everything else made it a 3. Overall everything was just decent. read more

The owner was incredibly rude the moment we walked in--no question about it. She clearly started the day in a bad mood and took it out on us. You can even see from her social media posts that she wasn't in the right mindset. Instead of owning up to it, she's playing the victim. She blatantly lied and treated us like we were the problem. She was seating other groups who arrived after us, and when we respectfully asked what was going on, she got defensive and told us not to come back. Her attitude was hostile and unprofessional. It's obvious she doesn't take pride in her business or care about her customers. Completely unacceptable behavior. The food isn't nearly good enough to put up with this kind of treatment. We are in town for a tournament and my son had a hankering for French Toast. We popped in around 10am on a Monday morning and could not believe how busy it was! Service was amazing. The hostess took great care in cleaning a booth for us, and was ver prompt. She said she needed to wash her hands before seating us and this germ-a-phone appreciated the care. We had eggs Benedict which were very good, french toast with nice big pieces and they even gave us extra powdered sugar and meat pancakes with bacon and sausage cooked into the pancake. Now in Medford and in great location. Glad to see the building come back and to be able to offer outdoor seating. Breakfast, brunch or lunch really can't go wrong with any choice. Staff very friendly and was very busy with a 15min waiting list at the time of visit. Ate outside under pop up tent with heaters so was not bad, but the food got cold quicker. Food is just like the other two locations and will be nicer when you can sit inside again. Pancakes are huge, as big as the plate so be warmed if ordering more then one! By far my fav breakfast place! Unfortunately, I have to be gluten free and this place has GLUTEN FREE BUTTERMILK PANCAKES! They're amazing and you can get them any style they make them just like the other pancakes. Since the cakes are the size of dinner plates, I grab a full stack to go, quarter them and put parchment in between and freeze them so I can have them whenever. The service here is impeccable and they're always happy to see you. The fireplace in the winter is a super cozy touch that makes you feel like you're at your grandma's.
