It looks unassuming but once you get your order you're impressed! I ordered the mayor, French toast sticks, and upon the suggestion of the cashier the garlic parm tots. Each were tasty. I sampled some tots in the car. When I finally made it home I had some of each. The French toast sticks didn't need syrup they were just that good. Great service, cashless, and only one bathroom. Parked across from Union Kitchen in Shaw but I believe the food truck rotates throughout the city. Because it's a food truck the line can get long. I'd recommend finding it during the week at a non peak time. I had the mayor - very yummy! A little pricey but worth it. The tots were delicious and worth grabbing too. You pay like a classic food truck window so in terms of accessibility the window is high and you must put your credit card in that way. I'm sure they could exit and help if needed. read more

The food here is extremely tasty and inventive. I love many items on the menu, including the Korean bowl (forget the name, something about Seoul?), the lox one, and the parm truffle tots. This is a really great addition to the Cleveland Park neighborhood, though they have other locations too, which I'm happy to see. The only thing that could make this place better is specialty coffee. I'm in Cleveland Park a lot and they could really use a coffee joint, cause no one wants to wait in line with the tourists at the Starbucks across from the zoo. I would have given them a higher rating, but the online ordering is terrible. The fact that you can not remove items you are allergic to from sandwiches is bad. I am limited to what i can order. You can not ask for extra items. You can not even call. That BAD customer service is in a way. If they make these changes, then this would be a much better establishment. This is a breakfast place serving mostly sandwiches and bowls, with limited seating. But they start removing basic things from the menu, like hot coffee, well before closing time. And the chairs start getting put on tables, kicking up dust - imagine if you had guests over and started the party cleanup while the party was going on! The well-deserved disgust you would get! Especially if you were packing snacks away from the serving table to the freezer, even as new guests were still arriving (as per the hours on your invitation). If your business model depends on the pennies you save from closing while your business is still open, turning off the coffeemaker, etc, you are in dire straits. read more

This place is THE place to get breakfast. Never go anywhere else. I mean, we were blown away and I continue to crave *all* of their sandwiches. They're so inventive!! My fave has to be the Paulie Cicero--prosciutto on a breakfast sandwich!! Genius!! A close second is the Southern Charm for those tangy fried green tomatoes. The closest this place gets to basic is the Bubby--a classic lox and bagel idea--but also nails it. My iced coffee was really good and the kids loved the french toast sticks. The first bite was out of this world, the bun is fully and so tasty, the egg yolk is just right, as I was enjoying this deliciousness, the next bite had the egg shell in it, which really throw me off. I came back! and while the food was good, the prices have increased (same St. Elmo's Fire bowl went from $13.20 to $15.70), and the portions are SMALLER! The tots no longer cover the bottom of the container, and I had about 5 pieces of cut up chicken. It's super sad, and makes it harder to support. Hopefully they will start filling their bowls at least to the same amount as before for a price increase. Definitely delicious though. read more

I got the garlic Parmesan truffle tots which were amazing but definitely stick around on your breath. It was a large portion, with two of us sharing without finishing. I also got the Mayer, a pretty basic egg sandwich with their signature sauce to give it a kick. I liked the sauce a lot, I just wish there was more on it as I got very few bites with it on there. Eggcellent. Sorry for the cringe but this place was honestly that good. A nice inside with cool designs and ceiling lights and very friendly and welcoming workers on top of that. After spending so much time thinking about what I should get off the menu, as everything looked so good, I got the Southern Charm, which did not disappoint. The bacon was so crisp and savory, and the fried egg in the middle was even better. However, what made it even better was the generous amount of lemon aioli slabbed on the sandwich, which had such a nice tang and zest. Interesting combinations with decent portion size. Service was very friendly and accommodating. There isn't much in the way of ambiance, which from the choice of decor they could have something. The iced nitro coffee was delicious and the sandwiches were amazing. If the name didn't give it away, they specialize in egg sandwiches. But they do have a few additional menu items to pick from - like burgers and salads and even a kid menu. The location is meant to be fast casual- so please don't plan on parking yourself here for an all-day work/eat adventure. The buns were so greasy I was wiping my hands after every bite I took. The egg was unseasoned, but I did enjoy the "Cracked" sauce. The bacon on the The Mayor was really good, but the sausage was dry and chewy. Best thing about the meal was the Pimento balls and would order these again, but disappointed in my visit.
