Cracked Eggery is always a solid choice. I love their sandwiches and burritos, but what really keeps me coming back is the crack sauce. I'm not usually a saucy person in the morning, but this sauce is the exception. It is so good that it's honestly one of the main reasons I order from here. The salsa or sauce that comes with their burrito is also phenomenal. It adds the perfect amount of flavor without overpowering everything else. When I stopped by today, the place was unusually quiet, which honestly made me a little sad because it's usually buzzing with energy in the mornings. I hope they picked up later in the day because the lively vibe is part of what makes Cracked Eggery such a fun stop. The service is always great, and the staff keep things moving smoothly without ever making it feel rushed. Between the food, the sauces, and the usual upbeat ambiance, Cracked Eggery has definitely earned its five stars from me.

I came here on a Saturday morning to grab a quick breakfast and Cracked was super satisfying! I thought the prices of the sandwiches were a little high especially for breakfast. I paid $24 for a sandwich, tots and tip. Service was fairly quick! Decent amount of seating inside plus a few outside tables. My southern charm sandwich had pimento cheese, a fried green tomato, and sweet bacon and was really delicious! My egg was perfectly cooked. The tots were crisp and had lots of garlic and parm topping.

Very hearty breakfast sandwich. Didn't love the sauce but the sandwich was very filling. The service was quick but I was also the only person in line. I sat outside and enjoyed the day with the outdoor seating. Will happily return to try another sandwich oh and the OJ is AMAZING!

We tried the Cracked Eggery after a morning at the Zoo. They specialize in breakfast sandwiches. It is kind of like a fast food model because you order at the counter and they box up everything to-go. But there are tables and places to sit and dine in. I had the Pauline Cicero and my husband had the Bubby. We split a little box of salted tater tots. Everything was very good! I liked the unique sandwich combos. The challah buns are really delicious and fluffy. We were still a little hungry afterwards. We probably should have ordered more tots.

The perfect on the go egg sandwich!! Reminds me a lot of Kasama in Chicago! I went with the animal and cinnamon sugar tots. Both were fantastic!! Their nitro cold brew is fantastic!! There are plenty of tables inside and out. Plus a water fountain available to refill water bottles!!

A great brunch spot in Cleveland Park! The service is very quick, and the sandwiches and bowls are awesome. I highly recommend the tots. There isn't a ton of seating, so plan accordingly!

First time trying Cracked Eggery l had the mayor which consists of bacon, eggs, cheese and cracked sauce (mustard based sauce). Overall, it was delicious. The brioche bun was perfectly squishy and buttery.

Food was good, the cracked sauce was fire asf. Food came out in like 10 mins. And the music here is great would come back.

I added garlic! Do you see parm? I don't! No garlic but my own either.

I got the garlic parm tater tots and there was literally almost no parm or garlic. I added my own but I shouldn't have too. The place is hanging finical issues but that's no excuse to go skimpy! That's a sure fire way to go out of business. I added garlic and parm at home. The service was was meh too because I asked for extra garlic avd parm avd got the opposite. The AC was way too high. I liked this place but after today no more

I drove 30 minutes just to get to Cracked Egged, and it was absolutely worth it. My order came out fast, and the sandwich? Incredible. Honestly, it might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! Perfectly made and full of flavor. The person working today (not sure of his name) was welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. I also really liked the outdoor waiting area near the farmers market. It was a nice, relaxing spot while I waited. Can't recommend this place enough. I'll definitely be back.

We came here on a week day and both really enjoyed our food. We didn't know what to expect but ordered a dish with Brussels sprouts and the Rancheros Cucamonga, which we would totally order again. The Rancheros Cucamonga had very fresh tater tots that were crispy and the flavors of the salsa were on point - totally fresh as well as the cheese, avocado, and eggs. Everything about the dish was perfect except that it was pretty heavy. The eggs were over medium but there was some yolk running. But I love that this place has healthy options and also some unhealthier options like the Buffalo chicken and other types of sandwiches. But the staff member was right - everything here seems to be delicious! So glad we were able to try to this place today. You pay first and then pick up your order and there's outdoor seating (4 tables) and indoor seating (about 4 tables as well). Prices are pretty reasonable!

I decided to venture off to Cracked Eggery in Cleveland Park on this beautiful Sunday. Parking was kind of tricky but worth it. It is down from the Zoo, right across the street from MoMs grocery. FYI this place does not take cash! Getting to the sandwich. I ordered the Abe Froman with chicken sausage. The sandwich portion is as big as an actual burger. So you share if you are not a big eater. It was quite tasty and flavorful. I ordered a side of garlic parm truffle tots, which was also good and garlicky! The cost was kind of pricey, but I would go back and try other sandwich creations for sure.

    Abe Froman + avocado
    David Y.

I ordered the Abe Froman which is egg, cheese, sausage on their delicious sauce on a terrific challah bun. I added avocado. Service was pretty fast. Took maybe 5 mins for the sandwich which felt quick. They were super nice. I ended coming back to get sandwiches for my family when they saw a pic of mine. I asked if they could top off my coffee which they said no to. That was a small bummer. Place is nice, clean, well decorated with stylish pics of their egg sandwiches. Good music ("Change is Gonna Come," "I'll Take You There,") played, perhaps a touch too loud for early on a Saturday. Sandwich and coffee was $18. Not outrageous, but a lot more than the greasy spoon near my office downtown.

Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. For a true high end burger experience I have no problem giving this place a solid five stars.

There Are Hotels. And Then There Is The Jefferson…read more Some places hold history the way marble holds cold, the way a well-appointed room holds silence after a long day of noise. Washington, D.C. is full of those places. Monuments. Halls of power. Streets that hum with the weight of decisions that shaped the world. But The Jefferson sits in a different category entirely. It does not shout its significance. It assumes it. Quietly. Perfectly. The way only a truly great institution can. For a millennial woman who grew up watching The West Wing and Scandal; who came of age believing that proximity to power was a personality trait, walking into The Jefferson feels like arriving somewhere you already knew existed but had not yet been permitted to enter. The lobby does not try to impress you. It simply receives you. Dark wood, dramatic marble,, soft light, the kind of quiet that costs something. I came for an afternoon. I left with a story. It started with a glass of wine and a question. The wine was easy. The question was better. I turned to Mike, the bartender, the kind of professional who carries himself with the quiet competence of someone who has never once doubted a pour, and I asked him directly: how confident are you in making the perfect martini? Sky high, he said. He was not wrong. Gin. A wash of vermouth. Nothing more. Stirred, because some things are not up for negotiation, and James Bond has a lot to answer for. The glass arrived impossibly cold, impossibly clear, with a lemon twist curled inside like a small, elegant secret. The first sip was the kind that makes you set the glass down slowly, look at nothing in particular, and simply exhale. That was the drink. That was the moment. That was The Jefferson saying: you are exactly where you should be. What followed was a burger. But calling it a burger is like calling the Library of Congress a place with books. They heard me. Gluten free toast in place of a bun, no hesitation, no substitution tax levied in the form of a lesser experience. The patty was serious. The cheese was melted with intention. And then, the Dijon. Two small jars of Clovis, the kind of condiment that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything else. Thick. Complex. The culinary equivalent of a strong opinion delivered with grace. This is what D.C. does to you when you let it. When you stop moving long enough to sit at a bar that has probably hosted quiet conversations that changed things, and you order something beautiful, and you let the afternoon arrive. This city is not just for politicians and lobbyists and people with lanyards. It belongs, equally, to the ones who show up knowing what they want and how to ask for it. Stirred. Not shaken. Mike understood that before I finished the sentence. And The Jefferson understood it long before I walked through the door.

It was straight up LOUD when we arrived due to the music; so loud I debated on if we should stay but we decided on sticking here after seeing there were a couple spots at the bar and less of a crowd there. The bartenders are attentive and patient, answering any questions you have. After ordering a couple beers, I ordered the chicken wings and a side caesar salad while my friend got the fish and chips. The wings are crispy although dry on the inside; fortunately you got the ranch for that; probably not something I would order again given the quality and price. The caesar salad is fine; nothing special, just fine. The fish and chips looked delicious and my friend enjoyed it. I probably should've gone with that but it was a large portion and I wasn't trying to leave on a full stomach. It's breaded nicely with some parmesan fries and a garnish of slaw. I can tell it's a favorite here. Located in Dupont Circle, this seems to be a favorite of the younger crowd which would explain the blaring music; especially on a Wednesday night at 930ish. The restaurant interior gives an upscale elegant vibe that suites the DC scene. Maybe I'll come here for lunch or on the weekend if I'm in the area but I'm too old for the loud music now.
