Recently went here - when we pulled up the place looks like a dive. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was blown away with the menu, and my dinner companions were equally taken aback. We sat at their bar, had an adorable server, they were short servers but she really took care of us....friendly, engaging, enjoyed talking about the menu, place, etc. Had cracked conch, conch fritters, and crab meat salad all fabulous! Entrees there were blue crabs, soft shell crabs, fish of day which was grouper with scallops. The cucumber tomato salad had a basil dressing which was delicious. Top shelf. A solid seafood shop! I was worried when I smelled the smell in the restaurant (and the bathroom). We stopped here on our way back to Miami from Disney based on Yelp. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. Their menu is classic, fresh seafood that you can get blackened, fried, or pan sautéed. We started with the crab bisque and the conch fritters. The crab bisque had a TON of crab in it, and had a nice light creamy flavor to it. The conch were SO light and delicate, definitely a surprise. They were like calamari but more delicate, and they came with a delicious spicy remoulade to dip in. The captains plate was great. I got it blackened, the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The blackening seasoning overpowered the fish in the platter, but I didn't mind. I ordered it with the cucumber tomato salad, which had an interesting light dressing on it. I was there yesterday and they had live music which was extremely enjoyable. It was not so loud that you could not still have a conversation. A great experience. I have been there twice. We almost ordered a second plate of them they were that good. We also had bacon wrapped scallops and they were prepared perfectly. The scallop was tender and the bacon crispy! I fell in love with the food here, being my first time. The place is a nice cozy shack restaurant. For starters we got the conch and crab soup, both were fantastic. The crab soup had a lot of meat, great flavor and it comes in a medium cup, a must try. I got a shrimp sandwich, big shrimps in it 5/5. My parents got the fresh Mahi sandwich, also 5/5 stars. Oh ma gah! We were visiting from NYC for a friend's wedding and I found this place via Yelp. I am soooooo happy we did. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious. This was our first time at Gettin Crabby and we LOVED it! Our server Brittney was out of this world. (Ask for her) She gave us great suggestions and recommendations. Wow! This is the best seafood I have ever had in this area. Reminds me of a hole in the wall jewel in the Keys. My husband and I started off with the red shrimp for an appetizer. Marc, the owner, said it is so sweet that it tastes like tender lobster. It was absolutely delicious. The shrimp size was huge and was a very generous portion. I ordered the Fried Oysters and chose a side of coleslaw and cilantro rice. Oysters were tender, plump, and juicy. Lightly fried. Since I cook a lot, I am really picky about restaurant food. The coleslaw was not over seasoned. NO mustard or pickle juice was added. Tasted as good as my own. Cilantro rice perfectly seasoned also. My husband ordered Fresh Catch of hog fish topped with chunk crab meat with a light sauce. It was moist and flakey at the same time. It was a 10! His two sides were tomato cucumber salad that had chunks of avocado blended together for the perfect flavor, and steak fries... fries were better than the usual. For dessert we split a banana coconut rum cake. It was warm, fluffy, and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Yummy !! read more
