    Frozen dumplings prices. 7/9/2023
    Sandra L.

This review is just for their King Steamed Pork Dumpling ($13 for six pieces). These pork dumplings are so good! There is so much filling inside and the breading is just the right thickness! I don't know why these are called dumplings, they seem more like baos to me. Each order comes with their pickled radish and it is so good when you eat it together with the dumpling. I have yet to try other fillings, but I think the pork is my go-to. One dumpling is enough to fill me up and I think this is great to have on the go or for lunch. I prefer to steam it up at home, but microwave works as long as you put a moistened paper towel on it while heating. This place is a hidden gem! It almost steered me away with so few stars here on Yelp, but I am happy to say that I'm a fan and highly recommend the King Steamed Pork Dumpling!

Introduction: If one were to tell me Korean meat bao are tasty, I'd look at them kind of funny because out of all the meat baos I have eaten [Chinese, Taiwanese, Cantonese, Korean], the Korean version of meat bao has always been characterized by the bao's exterior skin that's both rough and crude. The meat baos at Cr8zy Bao are an exception in the sense they're delicious. Food: King Steamed Meat Bao: What is immediately noticeable about the meat baos at Cr8zy Bao is the baos' exterior skin: the dough is both chewy and smooth in its texture. Quality pork, chopped wood ear fungus, vermicelli, scallions, and spices are used for the fillings. When eaten together, the dough and filling complement each other and makes the meat bao a winning package that's hard to come by. Personally, I enjoy the pork that's used for the filling because it is high in quality: at other eateries the pork filling tend to have minced joints imbedded within or the filling tend to carry a musk and pungentness that's inherent in low-quality pork. The meat baos at Cr8zy Bao doesn't have either of these shortcomings. Ambiance: Casual Service: The staff is friendly, polite, and efficient Price: Reasonable and affordable

Ok so mixed bag here: Like a lot of people said, service is iffy. Cashier was impatient and huffy. Minus a star there. The menu I thought was confusing but I'm looking at the photos on Yelp and I didn't realize they had a second menu tucked in back behind the kitchen, I was looking at all the signage right in front. Also, based on the photo, the full menu is hard to see anyways, so they're just pushing their promo/ad items. Minus a star there. Minimum card charge of $15, but it's Rowland heights so I came prepared with cash. Inflation has also hit here: the daikon radish is no longer 50 cents but $1 to buy on the side. I bought two buns to test the water and they were $3 each. The Bao/dumpling: 5 stars all the way there, I liked the flavor, slight sweetness and leeks and all. It is very much a Korean taste; if you've had the dumplings at Kaju tofu or any other mandoo, that's the exact taste of the meat in the bun, but now you get a whole gang of it. The radish was nice crunch and tartness with that spice from the jalapeño, and was nice to cut through the sweetness of the meat and density of the bun. Admittedly the bottom of the bun was a little soggy but didn't detract from my enjoyment of the bun. Overall, I'd buy the bun again if I happened to be at that hmart, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

This place is new at Haven City in W Covina. Today my daughter was about to order there just when she was about to order. She noticed one of the workers stirring a pot. As she was stirring, she took the spoon and tasted the broth, then she used the same spoon to continue stirring the broth in the pot! How very unsanitary was this so my daughter said she will never order anything there. Be warned.

Listed on Yelp as Crazy Bao, but no signage saying this name. Ordered No 1King size steamed Meat Bao and Spicy Shrimp Dumplings. Service is spotty as they just want you to hurry up and order without asking questions

We wanted some Bao to take back to LV in our icebox but had to sample one. Pretty tasty. We ordered the #1 Meat and Veggie King Bao
    Tom F.

The King Bao #1 was full of meat and veggies. It's much larger and denser than Baos one might find at a Dim Sum. Very Similar to Nikuman-Ya at the Torrance Tokyo Central.

I was walking through H Mart and the food strip in the plaza and couldn't decide what to eat. I found the pork buns super appetizing from their photos and had to try it. They were about $12 for 6 pieces, and I knew I could only eat half. Fortunately, someone noticed my dilemma and decided to split with me, and we both took 3. Overall, I think the pork fillings tasted great, with a good mixture of sweet and salty, reminded me of bulgogi while having thinly cut noodles that reminded me of japchae. Sans filling though, the bun was quite dry and bland other than the bottom which was soggy. I think that overall, the tastes and texture didn't go well together and was quite disappointed. To make matters worse, the minimum charge for card was $15, and with not many other enticing options that could be added to make the extra $3 difference, I reluctantly took the extra 50-cent charge. The cashier was also quite short with me and the kind stranger who split with me. I'm not sure if it were because we didn't order in Korean, but it was definitely not a welcoming experience.

It's just okay, definitely not as great as I remember. We used to come here all the time for the king veggie and king red bean dumplings, but now, the bun doesn't taste as soft and pillowy and the stuffing isn't as flavorful. The buns have a yellowish tinge, they used to be white. Service is okay and it's inside the H Mart so not much seating either. If you do go, I would recommend eating it right away. We got it to go and by the time we got home, it was soggy at the bottom and the bun was too chewy. It doesn't reheat well, even in the steamer.

This window within the hmart is a great place to get a quick bite. The service is friendly and quick! The chicken is also very tasty. I often get the garlic soy

The dumplings were fresh and delicious, and the people were friendly. There were tons of items on the menu. I am excited to go back and try some others.

I don't know if it's same owner as cr8zy boa house next door but red bean fish taiyaki was crispy outside and lots of sweet red bean filling inside. Waited 10-15 minutes so it's best to order first and do grocery shopping at Hmart or eat and then pick them upon your way out. Each large fish was $3.50 or 4 for $12.00.

They're inside H Mart in Brea.

This is where Duck Palace really earns its name. The skin hits that ideal balance--lightly crisp with a slight lacquered sheen--while the meat underneath stays juicy and flavorful without being overly fatty. It's not trying to be trendy or reinvent anything; it's just done right. The seasoning leans traditional Cantonese--savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic without being heavy-handed. I did not try the supporting dishes, but they had a good variety outside the roast duck. This is where you can tell whether a place is a one-hit wonder or a true kitchen. They had BBQ combo plates, stir-fried dishes, and various sides. Service here is efficient, is part of the charm. You're coming for good food, done well. Best to call in to reserve a duck ahead of time because they will sell out by mid-afternoon. The space itself is clean and straightforward--more casual than upscale--but comfortable enough for both quick meals and relaxed family meals. What I appreciate most about Duck Palace is the consistency. The price is reasonable for what you are paying for and the duck combo meal is enough to feed 2-3 people. Pro tips: - Go earlier in the day if you want the freshest roast selections. - Takeout holds up surprisingly well (the duck skin still has some integrity if you don't let it sit too long). - Great option when you want authentic flavors without driving deeper into the valley. - Discount for paying in cash Bottom line: If you're in Diamond Bar and craving authentic Cantonese roast meats, Duck Palace is a reliable go-to. It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. The place was practically empty, which honestly should have been our first red flag. We decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. My colleague and I were offered water or hot tea. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. There are plenty of better places within the same plaza than to dine here. I don't expect this place to last long anyway.
