Regrettable experience. Ribeye steak was over salted and under seasoned. I asked medium rare, it came well done/borderline overcooked. Salad had no flavor - just a bowl of shredded paper - chef clearly using cheapest greens available on a market. Finally what's easier than mushrooms sautéed with onions? Their mushrooms came in deep fried, as if chef is in cahoots with healthcare industry and wants to kill me. Restroom is dangerous to enter and has thick layer of dust on a top of heater, just poor choices of management they mask as character. The waitress was pleasant and lovely though. Texas has such a great fine dining scene, it's a shame Amarillo desperately does not want to be a part of it. read more

This place is a dive. It's off the beaten path. It's small. It gets crowded. AND.... it's one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. I came here at the insistence of my Amarillo tour guide. We started out with the chili cheese fries which were homemade, cheesy, and had plenty of flavor. The burger was the reason for coming -- and it was worth it. The beef was cooked to perfection, the hickory sauce complimented the beef, and the toasted bun didn't overwhelm the beef like a lot of the sweeter buns do. It's worth the wait. The service is friendly and fun, without the feel of a tourist trap. If you drink and you have to wait for a table, there's a bathtub full of bottled beer iced down. read more

2017 What a great little hole in the wall! Thanks to all the great Yelpers out there we knew not to pass this place up. When you walk in they will let you pick your seat. It's a small menu but everything sounded delicious. Torn between two things "The Burger From Hell" with sautéed jalapeños, coyote hell sauce, tabasco, cheese, lettuce, tomato and grilled onion. The other was the "Hickory Burger" with tangy bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions and cheese. After asking the waitress for her thoughts on the burgers, she recommended the hickory burger with a side of sautéed jalapeños, said it's easier to control the heat. We also ordered the 50/50 basket with fries and onion rings. Everything was on point and amazing. Waitress was quick to refill drinks and even gave to go cups which is always nice for the road. The meal cost about $25 and was well worth the cost. Wishing this place was close to home. Stop by, you won't be disappointed. read more

The cheeseburger was good. It wasn't overdone with condiments and you could taste the meat. The medium was perfectly cooked. The cheese fries were good. They used actual grated cheese and not cheese sauce. The Buffalo boneless wings were fine. If I am in Amarillo again and want a hamburger, this is where I am stopping. Recently moved to Amarillo and went to lunch with some coworkers. This place is so cool. Rustic, dingy, small and out of the way. All the classic signs of a "locals know best" joint. The place was PACKED. As it is with most days. The staff were MOVIN, but still very typically Texan, courteous and kind. We managed to find a place to sit, ordered quickly and got our food quickly, which really surprised me, I think I've waited longer for food at five guys. The burgers were excellent. This little...and I mean little, divey, hole in the wall spot has great food. The burgers are HUGE and the fries are huge as well. They were messy but good. The fries were kinda dry but I think it's because we were sitting right under a fan. She said that we could do 1/2 fries and half onion rings if we wanted. We got the Burger from Hell & the California burger. Both had really good flavor and filled us up for sure. The green chili doesn't have any kick to it at all. Zero spice. The jalapeños that were on the hell burger did have some spice but not bad at all. The burger as a whole wasn't hot. Just beware an extra patty is $4 The restroom is super super tiny so make sure that you go at home. the whole place is super tiny but it's pretty coolwith and at home feel. It has been a while since Eating at Coyote Bluff. I had forgotten that I was still in love with this place it's alway in my top few place to talk about in Amarillo. I had the basic bacon cheese burger and some cheese fries with green chili. It was fantastic until I could not eat another bites. The staff was friendly and had a super since of urgency. Driving through Amarillo and stopped here for lunch. The place is very small (and so is the parking lot). We were greeted with a big smile. We didn't have to wait very long to get seated. Again we were greeted with a big smile by the server. We ordered the cheese fries with green Chile on the sides....so good!!! Awesome Bacon Cheeseburgers!!! Great flavor of burgers! This is my kind of place. Divey, quirky, and excellent food! Its quite small (maybe 20-30 tops) in a very interesting building. even the bathroom has some character. The burgers that the group had were all delicious. Some of the more adventurous tried the spicy burger, that I think they regretted. I had the bacon burger with fries and a couple of beers. They were some of the juiciest burgers I have had in a while. If you have a large group (more than 4), you are probably going to have to split up. there might be one table that can accommodate six. Props to the guy to gave up his table to us because the rest of his party was late (I mean really late). They eventually arrived 40 minutes after we were seated. Amarillo is not that hard to get around. Definitely put it on your list for a future visit. read more
