YES, it was a great experience for the first being there! James did a great job of explaining how the internet works and plans. Marquis was the funny and sweet person.

Do not get helped by these people, unless you like poor customer service and bad attitudes

So this is going to be a very long one, so here's the summary if you don't read it all. I received some of the worst customer service I have ever had by Adriana. Tito helped, but also did some very wrong things. Will never ever get cox again for the rest of my life. Now. This is how my situation COULD have gone. And it's all so simple. I walk into this cox store on Euclid Ave with the modem that I was instructed to return while on chat customer service. I'm checked in. I get called by Adriana who is cheerful and greets with a smile. I'm asked what I needed. I respond with I'm returning the modem and I give my info for her to look up. She responds that unfortunately it looks like the modem is supposed to stay in my unit, and the my service is still active. I respond that a week ago I was on customer service chat for my service to be shut off and I was instructed to return the modem to a store. She apologizes for the miscommunication and says she can shut off my service and and sees if she can get a manager to back date the service to when I wanted it off. She then apologizes about having to take my modem back to my unit and offers me her business card if there are any other questions I might have further. I leave a little annoyed, but its all done. Boom. That's it. Done. But oh did it go so much worse. It could have been so easy... I was greeted warmly by a guy who checked me in. That was the ONLY thing that went right. Adriana called me over with no smile or any happy countenance. I get it, it probably sucks to work for cox, but she's the one who signed on the line and accepts the paycheck. She asks what I needed. I responded I'm returning the modem and gave my info. She very rudely tells me I'm wasn't supposed to bring the modem and points at the sticker that has my unit number on it. I take her attitude off guard and say that I was on the customer service chat a week ago and I've said it was to be shut off on the 25th and to return the modem to a store. She shrugs and said that my service is still active. I'm so taken off guard that she has an attitude and trying to educate me and offers no help. I ask to see a manager right now. She says loudly, "EXCUSE ME?" I say it again, and she tells me to sit on the bench and wait. I clearly know im gonna wait forever now so I get on the phone with customer service. I'm greeted by Ely who hears my whole story in horror. I try to find the name of the woman who I talked to first and she has no name tag. I walk to the front to the employees standing outside since its not busy to ask what her name is. She hears, walks away from the customer she was "helping" and stomps to a cupboard slams it, and stomps towards me with her card. Then the very plus sized security guard tells me to take my phone call outside, in which I respond that I'm on the phone with cox customer service. Ely is horrified and asks to give my phone to the guy I was talking to up front. I respond I don't want to give my $1200 phone to him, and he says put him on speaker phone. I do. This employees name is Tito. He starts fighting with Ely saying that he is in the wrong department to be handling this. By now im embarrassed and my heart is racing and I'm being treated like a karen for no reason. Ely takes Titos attitude with grace and asks if he can make sure my needs are met. Then Tito takes me to another computer and takes my modem and tries to find my info. He struggles and I'm thinking, of course you can't connect... it's cox internet. While he struggles he tell me this... "You know, you get the bad energy you put out in the world." I bit my tongue so hard it bled. I said just cancel my account. I wanted to respond, " Is that what you want to say to Adriana?" He cancels my account and back dates it and shows me the conformation on my screen. Let me say this... THANK GOD tmobile and Verizon have home internet now. It's way cheaper than cox, works just fine for streaming and gaming, and the customer service is impeccable. I have never had one issue with it. I will never EVER give cox my money again.

My receipt . I have my check but don't want my personal info on here . I also have the bill and other payment I paid.

I'm sire you guys ha e read my first review . I wrote too much and I had to cut some off. I paid my bill through the machines they have located in this branch. Cox rejected the payment. Didn't even go through to my bank when I called I was told I paid with a different account. The account number that was read back wasn't my account number. The problem I asked them is how could the account be changed ? She read back the account number I've been using for years. I told her that's my account, the machine took that payment on the 3rd she stated on the 5th a whole other account was entered. I asked how Could that happen and I explained that is a mistake of you guys part. They changed the account number and tried to said I did . I was on a flight to Chicago on the 5th.. I was given a reference number and was told paperwork would be sent out to correct this. Ask me have I gotten anything ? I haven't and Cox also added a $25 dollar fee . Be careful when dealing with Cox. I've never bounced a check and accordingly my bank I still haven't. Cox made a mistake which it happens but it happens too much this is why I pay with check to begin with. I paid with my credit card so they couldn't mess up again. Which is the way I will be paying from now on. They haven't sent the forms. Haven't tried to correct the problem or anything but they were threatening to shut my internet down bot even two weeks after they messed up. Can you imagine how much money they have cheated their customers out of? I have two receipts,my bill and the check that I paid with. I'm disappointed with Cox right now. This is how they treat their customers. I'm thinking of finally switching my service

I'd give zero stars if I could. When I moved into my new apartment this past year, I called and spoke to an employee at the Euclid Ave store who told me they have a promotion with 1 gig blast for $30 for the first month, then $69.99 for months 2 - 24. There would be no contract and I could cancel whenever I wanted. I was then sent an automated email of my order confirmation (see picture), which was not straightforward with the pricing that I'd discussed on the phone. It turned out that when I received my first bill, the price was actually $119.99 per month and I was only going to receive a $40 discount for the first month only! This was not all like anything the employee had stated on the phone so I called again and was told months 12-24 would be when I would see a significant discount. As I neared month 12, I called and was told my rate will continue at $119.99 for the remainder of the term and that I also would be penalized for early termination before the 24 months was up. Now that I actually have another option for internet service in my building, I quickly signed up with Google Fiber for way less in price, also 1 gig, and without being locked in a term. I hope I'll never be in another building where Cox is my only option. Good riddance to their dishonesty!

What would "(internet) SERVICE REMOVED " mean to u? It apparently doesn't mean what the LOYALTY dept says it means

Their salesman, Christian, came to my home to offer their internet services and I told him i currently pay $50.00 for 300 mbps with cox, and if they could at least match that, then i'd switch to them. He called me a month after letting me know they had a plan for $35.00 dollars for 300mbps, so I agreed to set up an installation. Today the installer, Miguel (he did a great job), came and drilled a hole in the wall, set everything up, and when it came time to the speed test, I was only getting 150 mbps, half of what I discussed with the salesman. The installer called the supervisor, and the supervisor told him that the plan i got was indeed only for 150 mbps. So I call Christian and let him know what the installer and the supervisor are saying and trying to figure out what we can do to honor the service he offered me, and he tells me, that he thought it was for 300 mbps, but i guess not, and if i dont want it, to just tell the service technician to uninstall. I didn't ask anyone for this deal, I had it offered to me. And now the installation technician has done his job, my home has a new hole in it, and I've cancelled my old internet service. The solution they give me is to just tell the technician to take their modem and router back because I dont want the services anymore. Terrible experience, i feel like i was bait and switch'd and hopefully I would just accept what they were giving me. Do not recommend.

I had internet service from Lightwave Wireless set up at my home in Ramona yesterday. I've been…read moreliving in Ramona since April 2024, and I have been stuck with Cox cable internet. Cox is SOOOO GROSSLY OVERPRICED. They were/are charging me $155 a month for 500mbps down, 50mbps upload service on an introductory promotional rate. That price includes whatever hideous fee Cox charges for unlimited monthly data. After the first 1-2 years, that rate would be even higher because the promotional period would be over and Cox would also start charging me to rent their cable modem monthly. The problem is, I would usually never see that 500mbps speed on speed tests. Many times it would be around 400mbps. I never saw that 50mbps upload speed, it was usually more like 29-30mbps. I also really hated dealing with Cox customer service. They are just the worst people on earth, almost malevolent. They know you're stuck with them, and they will screw you over at every single possible opportunity. Example, when I first bought this house back in April 2024, Cox sent me a home installation kit with my order. I tried every cable outlet in the house and none of them worked. I asked Cox to send a technician out since the previous owner's Cox internet service worked just fine but my new modem wasn't connecting. Cox tricked me into paying a monthly fee for "Cox Complete Care", to get a technician out to my house, then a few months later when I discovered the fee and cancelled it, they charged me over $150 cancellation fee even though I never knew I even signed up. On that day I decided that as soon as another viable ISP alternative popped up in my part of Ramona, I would ditch Cox immediately. Fast forward 6 months, and I get this flyer in the mail from Lightwave Wireless. At first I thought it was some type of cellular 5g home internet stuff, which is mostly garbage and not reliable. I did some research and it turned out it's not cellular at all, it's based on microwave technology and it requires a good line of sight to their tower on top of Mount Woodson to get this service. The service can work with perfect line of sight or near line of sight, but if there's a hill or mountain blocking your line of sight entirely, this service won't work for you. I know that cellular service is not a fit for me, but microwave service definitely has potential. This type of service has one weakness, which is line of sight, but it has some great strengths. Due to having no cable lines or power lines between your house and their tower, it means the service is effectively weatherproof. There is the potential for service up to 1000mbps with up to 200mbps upload, and the best part is even their highest tier of service cost a LOT less than what I was paying for mid tier Cox service, and all of their plans offer unlimited data built in. The flyer was very compelling, it promised unlimited data, no contracts, 30 day free trial, no overage fees, free static IP, and 10-20ms ping times.. all for 25-50% less than I was paying for Cox. I might have paid them extra money just to get Cox out of my life, but hey half price works for me! I decided to give them a call. This was on a Saturday and to my surprise an actual human being answered the phone. That human being is named Sue, and she is awesome. Maybe she was just bored that day because it was her day off, but she answered the phone anyway, and answered every single one of my questions, gave me realistic expectations of what to expect in my specific location, confirmed the 30 day free trial and etc. If I could give Sue a separate 5 star review I would! There is a $100 install fee for this service, but they do not charge you any monthly fees for their equipment. You also don't have to pay the install fee until your first bill comes in at the 30 day mark. They even offered $20 a month off for the first year. I decided to give them a shot. They came out on 12/17/24 to do a site survey and installation. There are some trees partially obscuring my direct line of sight so they couldn't mount their microwave antenna as high up as they wanted to ( the pics below are not the final mounting location, the installer ended up finding a lower position with slightly better line of sight than in the photos below). The installers were professional, friendly, on time, efficient, and they did a really nice, clean looking install for me. I love that their dish is also their modem, and it is powered via power over ethernet, the only equipment inside your house is a small PoE adapter, it's the size of a typical AC power adapter. I am getting a consistent 330-350mbps download, 40-50mbps upload with 15-20ms ping times. Everything I was doing before with the Cox 500/50 service works just as well with this 350/50 Lightwave service, I can't tell the difference in performance. If I trim some tree branches they can mount the dish higher and give me even faster speeds. This service is great. Literally half the price of Cox!
