This company is really the worst. Internet is a utility and they have a monopoly in my area. Every year the jack up the rates making me waste my time calling it to beg for a "promotional rate". If you call customer service and ask for a supervisor the tell you that your are speaking to one and that there is no one higher available. If you call back and get someone else they say the same thing, so they are all "supervisors" (and liars). I hope this company loses their monopoly as 5g and fiber get rolled out everywhere. I revised my plan and I was advised to go inside the store to swap out my current unit to a regular unit that is without the DVR. After reading so many of the reviews I was hesitant to even come in. I came on a weekday afternoon (Thursday around 1p) and when I walked in, I was pretty much the only customer. I was assisted quickly and my unit was exchanged within 5 mins. In fact, I even stayed an extra 5 mins to chat a bit with the rep regarding options to transfer my service and whether I'm able to revise my plan. The rep assisted me and even offered me a discount on my next bill. He assisted me to get my new unit to my car since it was a large box. Better service than I imagined! read more

Long story short, after I was given complete mis information from an Indian outsource person that goes by the American name Mike, I wasted 4 maybe 5 hours and to no avail. After being directed from cox to a wrong address to pick up equipment, they told me the closest location was now almost an hour away and that the store closed at 10.. fearing once again perhaps they didn't know what they were doing... I called the store myself and asked when they were open till and they said 7, after a 47 min drive I got there at 5:45 and they were packing up early and leaving. I stopped them on the way out but got no where, they said we are closed and "we leave early the nite before thanksgiving"... NOT what they told me on the phone BUT they are only reciting robotic answers not actually thinking!! Cox has done everything except what they're suppose to do, and the rep at the store just perpetuated the cycle of sh**ty service I've put up with from Cox in my first months experience. Continuously pathetic internet speeds prompted several phone calls and finally was diagnosed with a bad modem. So a trip to the cox store is required and here's where the rep failed. I asked for a new modem. Not used not refurbished, new new new. Why. So I could rule out another modem issue and the best way I have at this point is to remove the situation of receiving another bad modem through installing a new one. I told him my issue, and why I needed a new one, no acknowledgement from him as he plucks away on the keyboard, goes back and retrieved said new device. I asked to confirm if it was new, he said yes and bat the smaller serial numbers indicate that. Ok I think. I don't need to drag this out of the box and check it like I would a drive through, just to make sure the people working for these companies actually do their job. So what happens next? I get home, open the box and what's inside? A USED modem!!!! This guy should be fired simply for a pathetic lack of communication skills and concern for customer issues. Went in for new service. They were quick to want to add us as customers but failed to tell ya the difficult process of switching over. We spent a whole day trying to install it and finally a tech over the phone told us the cox store should of informed us of the inability to set up due to previous ATT service. Now we have to pay additional fees and wait 3 days before a technician can come instale it for us. At the store they were able to see whether or by my location had access to connect and failed to inform us of anything just to close the deal. read more

I absolutely dread doing anything with cox. I hate calling their customer service. I ended up finally updating my cable box so I went in to return the old one. Be prepared to wait for 30 minutes. The store is packed! There aren't that many cox solution stores. They should provide more assistance for their clients in more locations. Also should have more account representatives so they don't have that many people waiting in the store. Anyways the store was a pleasant surprise. I was prepared to wait but the customer service was 100x better than any service I received on the phone. I even went back again to upgrade my modem/wifi. These guys do not know customer service. I paid my bill at $51 every month. No matter what. I walked in there a couple weeks ago and mario and his boyfriend that sit in the high chairs all the time like love birds and don't do anything attack me over a few dollars that was on their screen. They said it was some kind of late fee and then something else because they were to stupid to read. I tried explaining that I paid $51 every month but they didn't listen. Staff is short & rude. One of the technicians told me I said, "you said your brother called in. " I said, "no I didn't". He said, "yes, that's what you said." Say NO to COX negative 1 star I am so disappointed by Cox. I called ordered new service on Wednesday because I start work Monday, explained to customer service that I did not have any internet connection in my home that I needed a line to be ran through. I understand that due to Covid they could NOT come into home but again before they sent the tech I had explained that I needed a coaxial cable and that by my front door 3 feet there was an old AT&T connection. The Tech refused to come in at first but looked at the old connection said he could not use that. I was upset but kindly told the guy I been waiting all day and I need this installed by Monday he called his supervisor and said he could not install it. I do NOT understand how he could not had run a connection to my window and I could of done the rest. I am pretty savvy. He refused after I told him I could help. He did not even try- why offer new service and send all types of promotional deals in the mail when you can't even connect NEW clients. This place was very unprofessional towards me and kept insisting I was lying to them. I'm in the military and was giving them my address on base and they said I was given them the wrong number. Then they insisted I bring them paperwork with the address on it. COX has a huge contract with the military base and they can't even look or assist military members correctly. These workers lack proper training and lack people skills to interact with customers. Carolina and Dominique are the two that gave now help at all. It's very clear that Cox doesn't care at all about its customers. This is such a poorly run business I can't even begin to describe the horrible experience we've had with them. Don't count on them showing up when you schedule an appt with them. Don't count on them answering any of your questions through the phone. Don't count on them to call you back when they say they will or answer your countless emails. This is also the only place I know of where they say you have an appt scheduled (with a text to confirm it btw) and then when you call them back they're like "oh actually we don't have any appts for that day, you have to wait until next week instead." ???? I literally already scheduled the appt with you though???? I'm pretty sure they just schedule you an "appointment" to get you out the door, they don't care if they can't really come or not. I've literally never had this happen anywhere else. They also shut off our internet without even telling us beforehand, by the way. It's like they WANT you to go somewhere else. I have to say in the past I've had some problems with cox. Mostly there's just a bit of miscommunication between some of the employees.. BUT besides that my reasoning for coming to this location was I needed to return my box. When I walked in it was pretty busy and there were a lot of people waiting. There's a sign in kiosk so you can electronically get in line to be helped by an employee which they have at other cox locations. There is a lot of seating to wait around, but I ended up standing because there were a lot of kids in there and I didn't wanna be in the middle of them and their parents. Anyways, they have a tv screen that lists the six customers at the top of the waiting list and it went by pretty fast so I wasn't waiting for that long. Worst customer service. They switch us from paper billing to paperless billing when we renewed our internet service when our last promotion ended. Unaware we were on paperless billing we missed one payment cycle and were heading into our second billing cycle, so they sent us an email that we missed a payment. I called then to see what the issue was, We found out at that time that cox switched us to paperless. At that time they switched us back to paper billing again, but apparently to late to get that next bill in the mail. So we got another email that were missed a payment. I called again and asked them to sent us a paper bill. No bill came and we got another email that we missed a payment. I called them again and again asked them to send me a bill and I would pay it as soon as I got the bill. Finally after three calls to cox a week later we got the bill on a Friday, I sent out the check on Saturday. On Monday cox turned off our internet. I called cox the forth time and they had a record of every call I made. They would not turn our internet until I paid by credit card the late payment. Wednesday they cashed my check. I have been with cox at this address for 16 years, never late on a payment. I would not have Been late if they didn't switch me to paperless billing. I would not have had my internet turned of if they sent me a bill after my three calls to them. I would not recommend cox to anyone. 16 years of on time payments and they treat me like shit. On that fourth call I asked to speak with a supervisor, the customer service person said they would put in that request, but I will take up to two day for the supervisor to call me. Today is the end of the second day and no call from a supervisor. Bad customer service, think twice before signing up for cox. read more

Absolutely the WORST wifi service around. Not only is it horrifically expensive so much more expensive than anything in Orange County or the city of San Diego, but their service is horrible. The Cox company and the store are absolutely horrible. I had both cable and internet through Cox for over a year and then the cable started fading in and out on a consistent basis. I called their tech support and then sent a technician out to fix the cable. The cable got better and stop fading out after the technicians service call but often the cable box had to be reset because the guide would say to be determined and sometimes when you changed channels the be blank. Then the internet went out all together. I called technical support and they said it was probably the modem. I took the modem to the Cox store and they gave me a new one. I plugged in the new modem and still had no internet service. I called technical support and they said well we can send a technician out again for either a one time fee of $79 or I could sign up for a service contract for $10 a month. Why would I do either with no proof that the could make it work again? Do yourself a favor and do not use Cox for anything. They are overpriced for a lot of headache. read more

This Cox Store has been helpful from beginning to end of my Cox experience. It ended because I switched to AT&T because of some technical issues at my new place, but otherwise I probably would have stuck with Cox. The workers here are very helpful, especially Ashley she was sweet. My only gripe is one of the guy workers had quoted me a different price when I was thinking about changing my cable plan, and when I had returned and spoke with somebody different I was told he misinformed me so that was sort of confusing. Overall, it is a little bit pricey for the plan I had gotten which included TV (basic and a few premium channels plus HBO & Starz) and Internet. They do have deals for new Cox accounts which includes special pricing for one year, and a step-up price at year two etc. read more

This review is about Cox Internet, not the employees who are always nice. I live in San Marcos off Twin Oaks (in a development, not off the beaten path) and switched from the horrid AT&T to Cox a couple of years ago hoping that they would have their act together to deliver an internet speed that remotely resembles what I pay for (300/30). I have switched out and reset modems countless times, purchased a mesh system for my 1400sf single story house and had so many tech visits I lost count. The node has been worked on so many times, they did something to the wiring in my house. No improvement. Lately it's even worse-I'm consistently below 10 for both speeds. What I don't understand is how a utility can advertise and charge consumers for internet speeds that they are fully aware their cables and equipment are not able to deliver. I can't even reset my modem or chat with tech support on the app because my signal is nonexistant. Save your money and don't use Cox or ATT, and PLEASE, for the love of all that is good and holy, if you find a company with reliable service, share it in comments. read more

My wireless cable modem/gateway was on the fritz. After talking with a Cox customer service representative, who was surprisingly nice and helpful, he recommended I trade my old gateway into the Escondido Digital Solutions Store and get a new one. After reading the reviews, I was kind of dreading having to deal with this store, but seeing how I work from home, I had to suck it up and just get it over with. When I got to the store, it was actually a much nicer facility than I expected. I immediately put my name into the iPad right at the door which put my name on the waiting list to see a customer service agent. After about 10-15 minutes at most, my name was called and I was able to get my gateway switched out without any issues. It was super easy and my agent (I think his name was Oscar) was super friendly and really helpful. Maybe because I had low expectations, and maybe because I came in on a Thursday morning (which was still fairly busy), but I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and my new gateway works really well. Really impressed by my experience with Cox from my first phone call to my visit to the Solutions store. By the way, don't go in on Saturdays or Mondays. Apparently they're crazy busy. read more

TV consumes too much of my life when I have it, so I try to limit my uselessness to football season. Clearly, I got sucked in a bit longer, since I didn't drop it off until March. The place had plenty of parking and looked nice and bright inside. I was helped nearly immediately by a nice lady who asked what I needed. I told her the story and didn't receive any of the save attempts that I had steeled myself for. In fact, I was in and out of the door in somewhere around 5 minutes with exactly what I wanted.
