I came in there for the first time today and met the owner Eric and asked him if his guys can check my drivers side wheel because I was getting a a notification on my dash board of either a slow leak or balding on my tire(s). He also explained that since I don't drive it often in town(since I'm driving my company vehicle all the time), that I could take it in again next month or couple months later so they can check the tires in case it needs to be replaced. Went in today for some squeaky brakes. Spoke to the owner Eric and told him that my SUV has nearly 220K in miles and I do not want to spend a bunch of money if I do not have too. He said he would check it out and give me an estimate. It took about 30 minutes and he said the rotors were in decent shape and all I needed was to replace the Pads. In the past we've purchased Costco Tires and Big O. Costco doesn't offer much service but you figure that their prices will be fair. So, I was surprised when I took the time to compare products and prices. Eric at Cox Bros was knowledgeable and offered good information that resulted in us purchasing a much better value tire - very good quality under half the price. I'd called him for a quote on Michelin tires and he gave me that plus quotes and assessments of two alternate choices. Installation was quick and problem free. No unnecessary work was recommended. In fact, Eric recommended against doing an alignment given factors he was able to reel off that indicated our alignment was just about "right on." Okay, this is not the first or second time I have been to Cox Bros but today was my third time, so this review is long over due. Eric and his team have been nothing but kind to me and have taken great care of my vehicle. Today, while I was leaving for work, my car had issues starting. I decided to run by Cox Bros before I got to work to see if they could tell me what was going on before I got stranded somewhere. Thank goodness it was just a battery BUT they were able to order the battery, have it delivered and installed within 30 mins because he knew I needed to get to work. I tried Firestone on Central, Honda, Acura of Pleasanton, Certified Tires on Holly St and they all asked me to leave the car for the day! This place has saved me on two occasions. My first visit into Cox Brothers tires, I got my wife's tire patched when she ran over a nail. The second occasion was another tire issue for my wife's Land Rover. She had a blowout on the Altamont. We had her towed home and I came in with the blown out tire for a cheap replacement. I explained that I was in between pay days and really didn't have the money to buy her a new set of tires. They were totally cool about it. They recognized the rim and tire as off of a stock Discovery, and said they had three used Michelins just like it in the back. I wound up having two of her tires replaced for about $35 a piece and she was back on the road in less than an hour. These guys are really cool and understand where you are coming from, especially in this tough economy. I will be back there on payday to get the other two tires replaced, for sure. read more
