The nice view from the outdoor patio did not redeem the quality of the food. We ordered a variety of appetizers and mains to share including the oysters, cornbread, tuna poke and crab meat. Oysters did not taste or look great - overall mediocre which is disappointing given how good the LI oysters can be. The cornbread had chunks of jalapeño. I am a huge fan of spicy foods and I'll generally order anything with jalapeños in it but the chopped jalapeños in the cornbread was out of place. Probably the most disappointing was the tuna poke. It had mango, strawberries in it with a thick sweet and sour sauce that overpowered the entire dish so much that I couldn't even taste the tuna, which is supposed to be the star of the show in a poke dish. I had a mixed experience here, although there were several good things! The good: The food was very tasty. I ordered the salmon special (pictured here) and really enjoyed it. Everything was made well and presented nicely. The view here is gorgeous. A lovely spot to watch the boats come in or see the sunset if you have a table with a view. The not so good: The bathrooms were not as clean as they could have been (needed a wipe down and no paper towels were left.) I also waited 20 minutes after being seated for someone to come by the table and greet me or offer a drink. They seemed to not notice me for quite a while at first. We went there Sunday for lunch. They were serving brunch too but we got lunch menu. We had Braised Pork Belly and Clam Chowder for appetizers and for entree, we had feature salmon of the day (served with string beans and white rice) garnished with cherry tomatoes, olives, parsley, and capers. It was pretty good but the garnish was a little salty for my taste. The blackened fish sandwich was also pretty good and the best part of it were the fries. The fries were SO GOOD and I don't know why. For appetizers, I highly recommend the braised pork belly. It just melted in my mouth. The clam chowder wasn't the best one I had, but it was still good. So, real talk: I had a date NOT recommend this place. And in my everlasting pettiness, I came here on a whim to prove him wrong. I was seated promptly in a lovely open room overlooking the water and ordered a sangria. Refreshingly sweet and studded with sliced grapes. Due to a hilarious misunderstanding, I did end up waiting 40 mins just to place an order for food (I was dining alone and the poor waitress thought I was waiting for someone, nursing my drink). But everyone was super kind and complementary! I proceeded to order the NOLA shrimp. And I will say, that dish won me over. Big pieces of shrimp are covered in this very tasty and savory Worcestershire reduction. The rice was amazingly soft and the bread served alongside to soak up the sauce was so perfectly toasted and buttered, I could've finished an entire loaf. (But did not because I was in a classy neighborhood). Overall, its a scenic space with good food, good drinks, and good people. Such a cute restaurant right on the water! I was so excited to try this place out that I drove here from Nassau Country (about 1.5 hours) just for the food and scenery. We expected there to be a long wait since it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, but we got right in. We ordered the cornbread and deviled eggs for appetizers, and I got the seared ahi tuna as a main dish. Everything came out so quickly and was delicious! After we ate, we spent some time walking around and enjoying the views. I have been here a few times now for cocktails, but I was excited to finally dine here. I've always heard good reviews from friends. The hostess asked if we wanted to sit outside which we did want to so I was very happy she gave us the option! We went upstairs only to stand around while about 5 different employees walked past us 3x. Another couple was up there waiting to be seated as well. I finally asked someone they said someone would be right with us. As another party of 4 came up the stairs the hostess came out of no where and took them before both of us who were already waiting (yes with reservations). Once we were seated without silverware and given lunch menus instead of dinner menus, our lovely waitress came over and corrected everything. We quickly ordered and the food came out very prompt which was nice! We ordered the lighthouse sushi roll which wasn't really good. It didn't come with wasabi or ginger either which was also disappointing. We also got the cornbread skillet which was very good! Only complaint was a little piece of it wasn't cooked, it was still cornmeal powder but was still enjoyable! We got a small wedge salad which was delicious as well. For entrees I got a filet mignon with truffle butter and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly but was overly salty. The truffle butter was most definitely not truffle butter either, definitely a garlic butter of some sorts. The green beans were phenomenal! My boyfriend got the blackened fish sandwich which he enjoyed!!! We also got a run punch to drink and it tasted as if the orange juice was sour but oh well! Lyndsey, our server, provided excellent service and suggestions for local points of interest The corn bread skillet with home made honey butter is a must... as is the New England Clam chowder. The buffalo jumbo shrimp app did not disappoint. Lobster roll was perfect and ahi burger delicious .., and although we were stuffed, the banana crème pie was light and airy, but decadent at the same time. We had a reservation for 16 for a birthday. We had to wait about 50 minutes for our table. The food was fabulous. Our waitress was amazing and literally did everything by herself without any help until we were almost done. It was a crowded Saturday night so we did expect to wait but not that long. Took another couple to Cowfish on Thursday for their $30 Prix Fixe Dinner. Was cold out and views of the Bay were beautiful. We went up the long winding ramp to the venue. Very quaint inside, not pretentious at all but warm and comfortable. We settled in to a nice corner table with views of the water and boats in their slips. We noted that the regular prices were on the high side but this dinner was worth trying as the food was delish. I had the Pan Fried Salmon and Bon had the sesame crusted Tuna...both fresh and outstanding. The Tuna was two slabs of beautiful sushi grade tuna with a slight sear on the outside and basically raw on the inside...perfect! Our server Melissa was warm and personable making the dinner even better...For desserts we had a couple of chocolate sundays and a couple of slices of Banana Creme Pie....outstanding! We have eaten there at least 100 times through the years and it is consistently great. The fish, steaks, stuffed potato and puree feta are all treats. The view, perhaps the BEST in the Hamptons.
