Great food and service!! I recommend the stuffed mushrooms :) the Deviled Eggs were good too!

The hostess is so rude. We came at 5:15 with 10 people. She told us we were not allowed to make a reservation or hold a table as we wanted to have a drink at the outside bar first. We came back and asked for a table of 10. She said there was a table ready and then in the time it took us to close our tab she gave the table away. She had no remorse was ill equipped for her job and was so disrespectful to paying customers. Although the dining room was empty she would not sit us. They need to get more respectful and helpful staff. The food isn't even that great only the view is. read more

Absolutely stunning restaurant! I went there on a Thursday night around 6 and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for 2. The views are incredible and make sure you get a table outside overlooking the water. It is a really relaxed atmosphere and it's very family friendly. This isn't one of those restaurants where you pay for the view. The food is also delicious and they have a nice cocktail list. We shared buffalo shrimp, Cobb salad, tuna tartare and ahi tuna and everything was amazing! Hope to return soon. read more

This is when you wish Yelp has zero star! First time visiting this spot. My boyfriend grew up in this town and took us here for a night out. We were in line waiting for the host. This young lady never acknowledged our existence. When the second set of people showed up, she immediately greeted them first. I stepped in to tell her we were here first, the host completely ignored us. When she returned after sending this group to the bar and told us the wait time will be over an hour for a table. So we opted for the bar seats. The host didn't take us up to the bar as she did for the prior group. Because of her ignorance of us, the spots were taken by prior group (it is not this couple of people's fault) when it could've be us. It was 8pm on a Wednesday night and she looked as she was ready to be off. Never once she smiled. At least not to us. We decided to leave based on this terrible service. Would I give this place another chance! Not in this life time! read more

Oof. Ordered the salmon special, and I must say, it was about as "special" as I would expect a Cowfish to act if it was a real fish. Not even a bite of crab on top of the salmon. The salmon was BURNT. Like badly burnt. This place DEFINES the Hamptons of Long Island, grossly overrated. For all you NY Jets fans reading this review because only Jets fans would ever come here, I rate this place as a solid Sanchez Butt Fumble. read more

My friend and I had a lovely dinner here yesterday. The only thing you should be aware of is that especially on a Weekend it will take an hour or more to get a seat. We had a few drinks and an appetizer to hold us until our delicious dinner! Food: we shared pear salad which was delicious and then I ordered the NOLA shrimp. The risotto was delicious and the entire meal was exquisite! My friend had the salmon, wild rice and corn. We finished the meal with a cookie platter and ice cream. It was worth the calories! Ambiance: There was a band playing and tons of people dancing and drinking. Very nice scenery and great place to enjoy the sunset and ambiance. Drinks: my mojitos were delicious and the service was fine. Prices are like NYC prices. Overall, aside from the long wait it was totally worth it. read more

Cowfish does not disappoint. Great for a Sunday afternoon, a sunset drink or casual meetup with friends. And the views!!!!!

This is a very nice seafood restaurant. But...the ribs are out of this world! I highly recommend them!

Ordered Cesar salad for lunch and got a few leaves of lettuce and some croutons.. no resemblance to a Cesar or any salad. Been here before and got the cajen fish sandwich which was good. View is nice , though. Places can get away with everything these days.. read more

Nice restaurant with a view! My only complaint is, we made a reservation mid week for dinner on Friday night. When we got there, they took us to a high top table in the bar. We specifically made this reservation to sit in the dining room with a bigger table. When customers make a reservation, you should not be taking them to the bar. I work in a restaurant and understand that a bar table may be the only table that eve, but even our server told us they were not that busy. and 2 tables down the stairs stayed open almost all night. Other than that, everything else was great! our dinner was awesome! We both got the Filet with the loaded baked potato. So great! The bar tender, who served as our waitress was beyond personable and sweet. She even took the time to make me a custom drink based on allergies. She honestly made the night great! Do recommend and will come back again. read more

Actually decided to go here at the last minute - despite having a fridge full of food!! We have been in quarantine for a number of years - first for a transplant (cancer) and then due to Covid and we have been unable to come out and enjoy the Hamptons (or anywhere for that matter) to its fullest until today!! The place we were originally headed to was closed and we wound up at Cowfish. From the Hostess, to the bartender, to the server, to the chef, to the manager - we couldn't possibly have had a better experience (& trust me I'm not always easy to please)! We were told it would be about a 45 minute wait and so I went to the bar to get drinks. I ran into a young guy and his girlfriend who were waiting to order and for seats at the bar. Since he seemed to be familiar with the menu, I asked for recommendations on the cocktail menu. He suggested a DELICIOUS drink (Homewrecker) and since they both were so nice, I bought them a round of drinks. By the time I came down the stairs with our drinks, the hostess had a table for us. (Later find out that the guy actually works at the restaurant and it was his day off.) Well, let me just say that the food and service were absolutely phenomenal!! I've been coming to Hampton Bays since I was 15 - now Social Security eligible YIKES! - and also own a home here. I can guarantee that I will be back to Cowfish soon and probably many, many more times. What a great way to break our quarantine and end a few really crappy years. We will also be sure to recommend Cowfish to everyone who stays with us!! It was such a great experience!! Thank you Eric and thank you everyone at Cowfish!! KUDOS!! read more

So I brought my boyfriend here last year for his 25th birthday and he LOVED IT. We ordered the salmon of the day which at the time (I guess it's different every time?) it came with buttery mashed potatoes and greens. We had a sweet waitress and at the end of dinner I asked if there was anything special they do for birthdays and she brought us out a desert with a lit candle for him. He was so happy! He loved Cowfish and what he ordered so much he couldn't stop talking about it for a year. So I decided to bring him back this year for his 26th! Immediately when we entered, we checked in downstairs the lady advised us to go upstairs because our table was ready. We walk in (it's only our second time here), and we ended up standing awkwardly in the dining room because there was no waiting area nor did anyone come up to us to ask if we needed to be seated. I couldn't assume where my table was so I waited. Finally the manager I believe comes over and asks us if we need help. He tells a girl to grab menus and have us seated. She comes over, like she's confused why we're were just standing in the middle of the room, but I was confused why she never acknowledged us. Anyway we sit down, a nice server came over, he seemed a little hesitant or weirded out by us, so did everyone else in there. I can only assume it's probably because two emo looking "kids" were there so we looked like the odd ones considering thats how Hamptoners always treat us out here. It's never for any reason, we're kind and respectful always, I think people just get uncomfortable with the way we look since we don't dress the way everyone else does. So he asks us what we wanted, we wanted the same thing as last year, the salmon. Well we got it and it was NOTHING like last years. My heart sank when I looked at my bfs face he was so disappointed. He was trying to be greatful but it wasn't at all what he wanted. The food was regardless good!! Just wasn't our taste or what we anticipated. We ate it anyway. When desert time came I asked the same question as last year. "Do you guys have any special deserts for a birthday with a candle?" He said yes I'll get that for you. Well the server never came back, he had 3 other people come ask what we wanted again I said the birthday cake thing. Some time goes by and I see another guest receive the birthday dessert with the candle! I pointed it out to my bf to get him excited and he was! Then a blonde girl randomly comes and TOSSES the cookie desert on the table and didn't even say anything or look at us. So obviously so, that it seemed like she literally "couldn't be bothered to look or deal with us". Again, I'm looking at my bf and he was hurt. I couldn't have been any more clear that I wanted the candle lit birthday desert. At that point I just took the loss, paid, and left. I'm not one to write reviews but we quite literally waited a whole year to come back here, for the same experience and didn't at all receive it. If it was a random just dinner out day I would've thought less of it, but it was my bfs birthday dinner. And it went terribly. I spent $100 there for him just to be disappointed. I feel personally very bad because I'm the one that brought him here. My review is mostly just to inform you guys about my experience here. The staff from last year were fantastic, this year, they need some attitude adjustments for sure. I understand I'm not your typical looking customer but I'm still a normal human being, and if we didn't present any issues, I don't know why we were treated like this. read more

came here for my birthday and the service was horrendous and the food was subpar. i ordered a moscow mule and it was undrinkable, i took only one sip and i apologized to the waitress and asked to get a different drink. she said of course and "our bartenders can't seem to get moscow mules right, you're the 4th person to send one back." after that, everyone else's food came and mine was 10 minutes behind everyone's (i ordered a salad), she then offered to send my table a cookie skillet and apologized for "messing up my food". when the bill came she charged for both drinks and the cookie skillet. i will never be coming back and it was beyond disappointing to say the least. read more

So I rarely give reviews but I thought this gem of a place deserved my time and opinion just so others can understand how amazing it is here. My wife and I loved the food so much we decided to get married at this location in the past. Perfect blend of rustic, casual, and upscale all at the same time. The food? To die for. Try the Nola Shrimp. its my Wife's go to every time. It's just such a dish of perfection that you won't regret it. Their Buffalo shrimp appetizer also is top notch. Perfect blend of tangy, zippy, and crunchy that at least 3 taste buds are dancing as you eat it. We will be there again tomorrow on Memorial Day as we reserved a table and figured we would have a nice quaint meal and remember how we cherish this place for all that it has given us over the last few years. Take a bow staff, you've earned it! read more

Oh my god. I've always loved this place but it has skyrocketed to my top ten for brunch places the bananas foster French toast and croque madame are perfect dishes to split between two people. I really have to compliment this business, the cute "Christmas present" style envelope offering a deal on your next visit was a really great seasonal touch. read more

Have been wanting to come here for so long and we finally made it!!! It was really nice outside and it was crowded at 3:30pm on Saturday but only half filled inside. We opted to sit inside in exchange of no wait. Homewrecker: 5/5 refreshing cucumber flavor and not so sweet Brussel Sprouts: 4/5 I expected brussel sprouts to be crunchy but some part was really soft...just not what I expected but not too bad. I wouldn't get it again though... Scallops: 5/5 Fresh scallops with bacon risotto. so so so yum~~ Seared Ahi Tuna: 4/5 The tuna was really fresh but the pineapple fried rice was saggy... the texture is more like oatmeal and not a lot of flavor to it... the side dish definitely ruined this... Carbonate Mushroom: 3/5 very very very very very salty....I can see how this can be a delicious flavorful dish if the chief didn't decide to dump the whole can of salt in here.... Jumbo Buffalo Shrimp: 2/5 Imagine having buffalo wing but instead of chicken you get huge shrimp...with shells on??! not something we would order again.... Fried Shrimp Kids Meal: 5/5 This is actually the best deal!! The shrimp was the same size as those jumbo buffalo shrimp and tasted SO much better!! You also get a drink and an ice cream what!!!! We should have gotten this for both of our kids~ Overall it's not bad but also not as good as I expected. I still need to come back for dinner and brunch before I decide this place is a keeper or not :) read more

Today my wife and I took out another couple to celebrate their wedding, and we made them pick the restaurant of choice which was Cowfish. Simply stated, besides the beautiful setting, the experience was excellent. Specifically the hostess and waitress were both wonderful, but it was the delicious cuisine which was the main attraction , complimenting everyone's different tastes. I strongly recommend this place which is a gem. Therefore, it is with sincere honor and without reservation I write this recommendation. Thank you! Brian Jude Loiacono read more

Beautiful views and white people galore. Nice. The restaurant consists of two floors, with both indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend the outdoor seating on a nice day, because again, the views and the breeze are just phenomenal. The bar downstairs also has a great view and while the selection is just decent, I think it's one of the best places to enjoy a drink outside in Southampton. The food is very good. There really aren't any dishes that blow you away, but they provide great seafood, at your typical Hamptons prices: expensive, but not horrendously awful. I had the NOLA shrimp, which had a really savory and sweet sauce that gave the shrimp a good kick. I also tried the salmon and the shrimp/crab salad, which all tasted very fresh and perfectly prepared. I would recommend against getting the sushi, as the portion was not very good for the price. Waitstaff is very friendly and they know the menu pretty well. It took us awhile to get the check in the end, but other than that, the water and drink refills came frequently. There is complimentary valet parking, if you can find the winding corridor to get to the back of the restaurant. The signs are not too obvious, so just make sure to keep your eyes peeled. The valets are pretty good at their job, although a bit forward about the tip at the end. I guess the expectations are high in the Hamptons. I'll be back to enjoy a drink at the outside bar, or for some quality seafood. read more

I ate here for my birthday in October and I cannot complain about anything. The service was excellent and the food was devine! My group ordered a variety of dishes including salmon, prawns and meat. Well done for maintaining this level of quality dining during such difficult times for the industry. read more

So very disappointing on so many levels. From service to the food just a very poor and disappointing experience. Today is my birthday and my family and I debated where we should go for dinner, since in the past I have had good experiences at Cowfish I suggested we have dinner there. I have to say the only positive was that we were seated promptly upon our arrival. We were seated for sometime before anyone came to take a drink order. Our drink and appetizer order was taken but not before our server stated that she was done and just wanted to go home. After waiting for quite awhile our appetizer came out but only 2 drinks were served, we had to then inquire where the other drinks were, those remaining 4 drinks came out after we had finished with our appetizer which was Luke warm, our server walked by and stated something about a problem with a hamburger. Two in our party got Cesar salads prior to their meals which were horrible, one was compared to tasting like dirty dishwater, the other had a dressing that tasted like lemons. Finally the entree's arrive, 2 of the center cut filets were raw and ice cold in the center, the Nola shrimp was warm like it had been sitting out. We returned the center cut filets which by the time they came back out everyone had finished with their meal and one had to be returned again since it was still raw. At this point my daughter who had to return the steak a 2nd time just wanted it taken off the check. Whom ever brought the steaks back did not even introduce themselves and our server was no where to be found. My daughter had arranged for desert to be brought out to celebrate my birthday, but dinner was ruined due to just an overall poor experience so we cancelled that and just paid the check and left. While the restaurant attempted to give us dessert to go damage was already done and they didn't even check to see what deserts we would have even liked, and attempted to give us banana crème pie, which none of us even liked. An expensive price to pay for a ruined birthday dinner. Won't go back anytime soon. read more

Excellent food in a beautiful setting. After trying their sister restaurant, Rumba and rating it highly we wanted to try Cowfish. We came for lunch, we wanted to sit outside on the upstairs deck, but there was a 25 minute wait so we ate inside and then had some drinks outside after our meal to enjoy the view. My husband and I shared the Blackened Fish Sandwich & The Club. Both sandwiches were delicious, with the fish sandwich being my favorite. Although we were full afterwards, we couldn't leave without trying the Iron Skillet cookie, which was sooo good! It was warm and gewy, I loved it. After our meal we moved outside to enjoy happy hour at the bar outside and enjoy the view. It was a great end to our Hamptons weekend. We are considering driving up from NYC to sample all the great food we had in Hampton Bays all over again! read more

This place was incredible. It's sitting on the bay with an amazing view of the water and boat dock, there are games to play, live music, chairs to relax in, and a cute outdoor bar to grab a drink. We waited for less time than they estimated, which is always nice. THE FOOD was so good. We got the clam chowder (amazing) the buffalo shrimp (was actually BBQ, but still good) and the oysters Hampton which was very good. My boyfriend got the ribeye with the special house sauce and I got the french dip. All so, so good. Definitely recommend for a night of great food and atmosphere.
