Had such a wonderful experience. Very polite and efficient service and the food was excellent. Our server Jason was great as was the entire staff. Shout out to front of the house person (short hair, glasses) I am sorry I did not catch your name but we have been here several times and you have always been professional, polite and efficient. And of course the view...nothing better. Thank you for a lovely dining experience. read more

Not ADA compliant to reach the second floor. The parking lot doesn't have any pavement it's just dirt. Don't use your best shoes to this place. Food wasn't anything to write home about. A cold seafood appetizer was not bad. Friendly staff. Unfortunately I went on the late winter so no views to enjoy due to extreme cold. read more

The banana cream pie actually was really disappointing. But everything else was fantastic. Great food, good price, excellent service, beautiful place and view. Really had a wonderful experience. There is a fun outdoor bar that is part of the restaurant but seperate and was a perfect start to our night. So nice to sit out there and have a drink. We were seated for dinner on one of the second floor decks after a short wait, and the view of the water was great. Loved the buffalo shrimp, although I wish we had them after the fried oysters, which had a subtler flavor that was overpowered by the shrimp. All the food, with the exception of the pie was delicious. I don 't get out that way often, but will definitely return if I do. read more

I hosted my cousin's baby shower here and couldn't have been happier. There were 9 of us and they were helpful start to finish. Let me pick our seats, gave us an extra table for presents and allowed us to hang balloons. Everyone I spoke with was beyond helpful- valet, hostess, bartenders and especially our server. I didn't catch her name but she had fun makeup, a nose ring and was so good! The food was also spectacular! We will be back! read more

My husband and I have been coming here for the past few years... we enjoy sitting outside and have lunch or dinner... I loved this place... it's slowly taking a dive for the worse and it's ashamed cause the food and location is fabulous.... In the beginning of summer 2018, we had come and sat at the bar, where there was seating and we waited for about 20 min for the bar tender to even notice we existed after she had helped the same family multiple times! We continued to stay and order dinner where we did enjoy our food and drinks; just poor service. This past weekend my hubby and I yet again decided that we wanted to give cow fish another try... so like we always do we packed up our little yorkie... where he has been with us every-time in the past at this restaurant and my husband went in to ask for a table for two outside cause we have our small dog when it was no problem... when we proceeded to go to our seating she suddenly said "no dogs aloud" I said since when... for as long as I have been comming here and for as far as I drove dogs have been aloud and she continued to argue with me and say no dogs are aloud on the property... they would not even try to accommodate us what so ever so unfortunately they have lost my business and I would much rather prefer to eat lunch at home! read more

I was on a quest for a proper fish sandwich on Long Island, and though the sandwich Cowfish offers is not a traditional breaded style, it had a blackened rub and was a lovey fresh cut very well seasoned, so I was happy to have found a satisfying fish sandwich. Had a very lovely local lager from Montauk to accompany, and appreciated the charming setting and twinkle lights, in addition to their clear commitment to safety policies surrounding COVID. read more

I know what you're thinking. "A 20 minute wait to valet park and a two hour wait for a table. This place MUST be worth the wait!" Well....You're wrong. You'll spend your purgatory hours at the outdoor bar, which is nice and fun until you realize you're now starving after a third glass of rosè. 9:45pm. Dinner and a show! The dinning room is filled with hungry, drunk and restless diners. A Long Island guido picks a fight with the next table. The bachelorette party "woos!" when its penis cake is delivered. And your head is spinning because you think you're on an episode of Jersey Shore. "At least the meal will be worth it all!" ...Wrong again. An hour after being seated, your risotto will have sat under the heat lamp for so long that it has formed the same gelatinous texture as a left-out-overnight-on-the-stovetop box of Kraft Mac and Cheese. The circus continues into its fourth hour when you walk outside to the valet guy apologizing for losing some chain smoking couple's car keys. Five people digging through trash cans and surveying the parking lot with cellphone flashlights illuminated. "All good things come to those who wait?" ...No. Not here. Not at Cowfish. read more

Always the best!!! My favorite restaurant ever! The salmon special is always on point and the view at the upstairs bar is awesome

Where can I start we went here for Memorial Day weekend we were a large group we got there @ 6:30 mins you are rsvp was for that time we check in they tell us they getting the table ready no problem 20m go by they still getting the table ready 45m later they still cleaning and boom sister goes down they can't charge the party that was dinning because the cc machine not working . A hr later they seat manager comes apologize gives a bottle of champagne for the table because we were celebrating 2 birthday that night we order food and drinks I order a Tito's and soda all I got was club soda and lime no alcohol my fiancé order some pork belly for appetizers they gave him ribs we both order fish was over cook my fries were r fried hard as a rock food was not good other friends complain about their food also. I would not recommend this place for food maybe for drinks and views but food was horrible service was good am guessing because they made us wait over a hr overall would never go back there . read more

Loved this place. Went for brunch and had amazing views, service and food. Will definitely be back!!!

Tried to go to Cowfish 3 times. 1st time we went on our 49cc moped and got lost.. Ended up on sunrise highway in a 60mph zone travelling 25mph in the fast lane... Ended up getting a police escort home. Never made it. 2nd time we went we missed the sunset and got lost again. Disaster. 3rd time lucky we got there... Definitely worth the wait. Brings some mates, or bring a date. Get the scallops. Drink the mule. Get there on a summer night before 8. Catch the sunset it's super cool. Deliciousness. read more

AMAZING! From the food to the service. So attentive and kind. They kept making sure we were set, pleased with everything. This is how restaurants should be. All should be modeled after how Cowfish does it, esp in the Hamptons. We were impressed with how attentive everyone was. From the hostess to the waiter to what I believe was the manager? All were great! A must go. And make sure you get the scallops because YUM! read more

Went at 12pm for lunch on a weekday. Surprisingly there were a ton of people waiting to go in. Lovely outdoor deck! Let's talk about the lobster roll. It's huge and pricey but damn it's all lobster claw with a little touch of mayo and a ton of tarragon and lemon. It's legit and shouldn't be eaten without a fork. So now let's talk about the seared tuna. Holy tuna! It was some of the best fresh tuna I have had. Perfect dressing and a delicious side of rice. I would order that dish again and again! Service was friendly and helpful. read more

this place is amazing! great food, great vibe, good service. highly recommend the cheeseburger and the cookie skillet

Food and ambience were both great. Highly recommend considering what they are doing during covid.

First of all the view from the dining room is spectacular! It was so relaxing to sit watch the boats as I enjoyed my food. EVERYTHING I ordered was absolutely delicious; the portions are large (I was full before I finished my appetizer). Our waiter was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Cowfish-I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! When we first arrived here we were valeting our car. The first thing we see is one of the valet guys running after a car they just gave back to a customer because he thought he gave him the wrong car. But as soon as we saw the place it was beautiful, by the water and had a little play area for kids. We sat outside by the "take out area" and the host said "When you order from that area just come to me to order and we will bring everything out to you." We ordered drinks and were waiting 20 mins for them, I went up to her to ask how much longer and she replied "I totally forgot to grab the drinks." Another girl brought the 3 drinks over and we asked which drink is what and she said "I have no idea, just taste test them and see which ones you like." I was so shocked that this type of service was coming out of such a beautiful looking place. We then called her over and explained the drinks were not what we ordered and do not taste good. She came back over with new drinks and slammed the bill down with them, and announcing OUT LOUD the total on the bill, doesn't even ask if we want anything else before bringing it out. I don't mind paying $15 a drink but not for that type of treatment. I paid the bill then asked the host to bring a manager out to explain this to him. The manager was very nice and felt terrible about our experience, he gave us $50 gift card which is fine but not why we came there, we went there to have a good time and good drinks and that is definitely not what we got. Worst service of my life. I usually do not write a bad review but this one was well deserved. read more

Such a great little spot in Hampton Bays. It's perfectly situated on the water so you have great views no matter what. We ate out on the patio and it was lovely. We both got the lobster roll and it was phenomenal. You get such a large amount of lobster meat, we definitely could have just split one. The deviled eggs are also to die for! We'll be back on our next trip out East. read more

One of my favorite places in westhampton. I wasn't sure about the no reservation policy and long wait times but it's worth the wait. Get there an hour earlier than your intended dinner time and explore the property and grab a drink at the bar. The cocktails good sized are great. On a nice day you cannot beat the location. Once you're seated the menu is excellent. The food is one of the best in the area. The seasoned mahi mahi is unbelievable along with the ribs. An order of the jalapeño corn bread is a must. If you get there and the line is too long youth can take the boat to the sister restaurant down the bay read more

On a lousy weather day when a group of us decided to hit a few wineries in Long Island, we decided we wanted seafood for lunch. We found Cowfish down in the Southampton area, and were glad we did. Most in our group had the clam chowder, which they all raved about. We also had the iron skillet cornbread, which was outstanding. I had the blackened fish sandwich, which was one of the best I have ever had......anywhere. The food was so good that a couple of the people in our group, actually went back again the next day! A definite must if you like seafood. read more

The name is very fitting. They make great steaks. They make great fish. The ambience is the best. An old boat house on the canal, with a cozy attic bar up top, deck seating to take in the views, and then a seasonal outdoor bar with a great albeit limited menu. Seating can be tough in season. If you ever have a chance to do one of their wine pairing dinners off season, do it! Come hungry and thirsty, and consider a cab ride home. I think one of their chefs left and took with him one of their best dishes, the cumin encrusted mahi. I'm a tough reviewer, so there goes a star. Must haves: buffalo shrimp, prime rib (I think it's only on Wednesdays?) skillet cookie. Enjoy! read more

Thanks, Yelp! After finding Lobster Grill closed we searched for waterfront restaurants and found this. Cute 'lil salads were delicious as were our main courses; divers scallops and blackened ahi tuna. Good, friendly service and a great scenic spot rounded out the evening. Cherry on top was the 5% discount for "checking in". Response to Dave's question re: beverages--a beautiful summer evening deserves "Gin and Tonics" in our opinion. read more

Eggs Benedict was our favorite, and sitting outside upstairs was perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Four stars for the food and six stars for the ambiance. Fantastic spot overlooking the water. They have a number of different dining areas. Even the inside area felt outdoors as the windows and doors were open and kept a nice breeze flowing throughout. Great place to dine and watch the sunset. Even after you've finished eating, there are Adirondack chairs near the water that you can relax on - and they have an outdoor bar if you feel like grabbing a drink and wandering the grounds. Lovely place to eat and relax. It's busy tho so make sure you reserve. My husband and I try to make it back to this restaurant anytime we're out on the island. read more

The ambiance is perfect. Beautiful view, setting and surroundings. The food is on point. The drinks are delicious and the bar is more than large enough to satisfy. We tried a few of their rolls. Everything was very fresh and better then what I would expect at a non Japanese restaurant. For my entree I decided to try the french dip at the last second, which was great. But I just wish the portion was alittle larger. The side of mac n cheese was delicious. Best part about this place is you can text Rumba to come pick you up if you feel like taking a trip down the canal to their sister bar/restaurant. read more

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Sure there are traditional wood and a few cracks on the ceiling but it does give a great character. Moreover the service was great and the brunch was amazing. I am pretty great at judging food, so trust me when I say the filet mignon with eggs and their chicken and waffles were absolutely perfection. Highly recommend. It's worth the money and the ambiance outside is pretty neat! They also have complimentary valet parking which is awesome. read more

I came here with a group of friends for our final dinner while visiting the Hamptons. The service was great and fast, also quite attentive. The location was also beautiful and tucked back behind a bunch of buildings, so you wouldn't expect it! I ordered the seared ahi tuna which was amazingly cooked. However it came with fried rice which seemed to have been made with freshly cooked rice, which make it a little gluey. Besides that, everything was delicious and I'd highly recommend a visit! read more

Service is amazing, with the exception of the amount of time I had to ask for water refills. Food came out pretty fast and tasted AMAZING! For bread and Brussels sprouts were so yummy, chowder was a little on the heavy side but delicious, the Reubens were tastey and the Nola Shrimp was yummy but heavy.
