Buffalo shrimp AMAZING! Wedge salad with salmon delicious ( Money saving tip- get the side wedge with the salmon. It's $10 cheaper and huge) Would definitely go back. Great food, great service, great atmosphere read more

Love this place! Perfect summer hangout in the Hamptons after a beach day. The outside bars are so fun! Gets a little crowded in the summer but it's totally worth a trip read more

Usually I write reviews completely on food and I am annoyed by reviews about expense/service. However, here I go. I was recommended to this restaurant and was excited to go. I got there and was quoted 45-1 wait at 9pm. Ok. The vibe was cool and there was a great bar atmosphere. We waited forever, way longer than an hour. We were seated upstairs on the patio. We ordered a few sushi rolls, the corn bread skillet, buffalo shrimp and a cheese burger. About 15 minutes after we ordered, the server told us they were out of cornbread. The one thing we were told to get, by the server as well. They brought me the wrong wine, but I never saw the server to return it. After over an hour of waiting for our appetizers I finally asked for a manager. When she finally came over she did get our food promptly. And the sparkling water that I had ordered 45 minutes earlier that never came. The food was decent. The sushi rolls were small. The only thing saving this from a one star review is the atmosphere. Certainly not worth the wait and aggravation. I will not be back. read more

If I was rating this place on venue alone, it would be a 4.5 to 5 BUT food and drink does mean something. Outside bartenders could care less when you're standing at the bar waiting...even at slow times; poor beer selection in these days where even a small bar has half dozen good beers; food decent but on expensive side; lastly, for a LI east end place where fish is caught steps from their doorstep, this place has no raw bar. Not that a raw bar is a make or break, but when I asked why they had none, the answer I was given is because everyone else has one....what?? Really? read more

beautiful for the scenery, the food was good. the service could of been a little better but I feel if we waited for a table, maybe the service would of been better. overall i enjoyed my time at Cowfish and there were no complaints. read more

What a great location! Came with my boyfriend on a Wednesday night and was told the wait was 45 minutes to an hour, so we grabbed a seat at the outside bar and enjoyed the waterfront views. Once we were seated we were promptly greeted by our server Chris and he was so accommodating! He immediately told us the specials and made recommendations on the menu with detailed descriptions, and our choices definitely didn't disappoint. The spicy tuna roll was a perfect portion for two as a starter, and the sauces with the oysters were really yummy. I had the scallops and the whole dish was delicious, and my boyfriend said his ahi tuna was cooked to perfection. We almost didn't get dessert but Chris steered us towards the skillet cookie and it was the perfect ending to an awesome dinner! We will definitely be back. read more

We arrived at 6:30pm - party of 4 to have dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. Had to wait 20 minutes to get to the hostess to place my name. Informed that I needed to come back 30 minutes to pick up buzzer. My party had to walk up flight of steps to bar to wait, 2 members of my party had canes. After 30 minutes, I went to collect buzzer. Informed the wait would be additional 45-60 minutes. When buzzer finally went off, We were seated downstairs in main dining room. After being seated, we placed our order for appetizers. When they arrived, there was no utensils/napkins on the table. Had to wait for that to arrive. Ordered guac + chips, guacamole was oversalted. Husband ordered Block Island Swordfish with veg of day (corn salsa). This too was over salted. My friend highly recommended this place. Maybe it was an off night for them. I read such rave reviews and was hoping for the same experience. read more

We were a party of 9 and everyone had a great meal. Steak was excellent. Scallops were terrific. Appetizer special was excellent as well. Good service and very nice space read more

5 day old car trashed by the valet- management completely unhelpful. very long wait to be seated.

Was glad we got a table with a view because we waited about an hour for a fish sandwich - Been there numerous times - food is good but plan on waiting first for a table and sometimes for the food as well read more

Very good, great views! I like it for lunch to take in the views. Has dockage to pull up on your boat, although there's not a lot of space.

Excellent food and great service (and local tips...thanks Kelly). Take advantage of the boat ride across to its sister restaurant, Rumba for dessert. We did! read more

This place is absolutely a summertime Hampton must! They have some really terrific drinks like the rum punch and the home-wrecker. Both are a must try!! The food is absolutely spectacular, I recommend the ribs, north fork salad, corn bread, and any burger they serve. Although the rotisserie chicken I had there recently didn't quite suit my taste, I would say it is the only thing i wasn't thrilled with in years. If you're coming out this far east, do not pass by without coming in! read more

I had the corn bread for appetizer and it was excellent. For dinner I had the scallops and the were also very good I was hear about 5 times last year and its good to see that things haven't changed I definitely will be back read more

So far (half a dozen visits) I'm just OK with the food. But they try so hard to please, and the location/vibe are tops! Way better than Indian Cove (same location) in years gone by. Some people beef that it's too busy. Well, this is seasonal and so on a perfect evening in summer, what would you expect. They can't build the place for the 20 busiest nights a year, only to be 10% occupied December-April. Give them a break. If it's packed, that is a compliment in every sense. Go Cowfish!!! read more

One of my favorite year round spots in Hampton bays, great cocktails, awesome staff, beautiful views, delicious food. Hop on the rum boat and go to their sister restaurant rumba for a rum punch and a fish taco we are so lucky as locals to have these two restaurants in our town! read more

The restaurant look empty but they had a 35 minute wait in off season. There were empty tables. A group of six people just walked out. The parking place was empty. read more

Had a wonderful experience yesterday from the parking attendants, the hostess, up to all the wait and waitress staff. Food was truly excellent. Would definitely go back. read more

Service and food are always fantastic. My family goes here for every birthday and special occasion!

Our meals and appetizers were very good, we went during restaurant week so we were able to order from the "prix fixe" menu. When it came to the deconstructed apple pie things went bad. It looked and tasted pretty horrible, the apple was grey and had absolutely no taste. A few people around us ordered it as well and never ate it. I mistakenly tried it and removed all doubt about how much it sucked. If it's something they are trying out, they should drop it from the prix fixe and from the menu. read more

Everything about this place is phenomenal. The menu selection, the food, the wine/drink selection, the atmosphere, the staff. It's a little hard to find, as it's kind of set back from the main road, close to the river. But once you get there it's this huge rustic, renovated-looking house/barn/boathouse surrounded by docked boats. It's got all kinds of different areas to choose from - bar area, fun loud area, private rooms, nice dining inside. It's romantic, fun, casual, dressy, cool, relaxed, special, all in one. And the view of the water is just lovely. A must go. read more

Food and service was good. Staff was pleasant. Atmosphere is casual. Being by the water is always best

Had a great dinner, every bite was Delish! Would definitely recommend and looking forward to going back!

The price fix menu was a little tricky. If you didn't look close you missed the extra cost for steak. Meal was good however the service was slow. I realize it was Restaurant Week but Cowfish should have taken that into consideration. read more

Probably the rudest manager in the Hamptons, Lauren. Where the customer is always wrong. An hour wait, expect to get exiled to a cold terrace, fight to get an app order out of the waitress, while the manager makes sure you can't sit down and enjoy it. Waited an hour and got told by the manager that she'd ask me to leave for speaking up. It wasn't even during the season! Never again. read more

Went there Tuesday night and just loved it, food was great, views amazing, great service, a real find, would not want to wait 2 hours on a weekend night, probably will eat first and go there for drinks and apps if you can park your car read more

Love the buffalo shrimp. Also great sushi, soups and salads beautiful location. Best restaurant in the Hamptons!!!

We went for dessert and everyone enjoyed everything! The banana cream pie was delish and the skillet cookie was unbelievably scrumptious!

Chef Mike is stellar hands down. Love the atmosphere and staff! The food is amazing and the drinks are strong!

Went for brunch in Marchn , they have a great menu which varies. Meal was delicious and the views are beautiful. Only downside is it's small and can be loud. read more

We ate here on 7/3/16, a busy Sunday night. We were told the wait would be 1.5 - 2 hours for a party of 5. I said ok and we were told to come back in an hour to get a pager. It took about 20 minutes to get drinks at the outside bar. I ordered a second drink and went to check with the hostess on our progress about an hour after our arrival. As I walked to the front I noticed several open tables inside and outside upstairs. When I asked her how we were doing, she checked with the other hostess and sure enough a table was ready for us - it's a good thing I asked because she wasn't looking for me to seat us. When I went back to the bar there was a bug in my drink. I tried to scoop it out but it left behind little bug parts so I told the bartender who said to me - "well we are outside". Huh? She then reluctantly made me a new drink. The bar service was sub-par and not what I would expect at CowFish. We sat outside upstairs next to a couple with 2 large hound dogs drinking water from serving trays on the floor. Fortunately no one in our party is afraid of dogs. There was also a man sitting at the bar with his dog in his lap. I'm a dog lover, my own dog is 16 but seriously - aren't there health codes? Food was just ok - there was only one special offered. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because our waitress was great and the views are great. We have always enjoyed going to CowFish but In my opinion it has gone down hill since first opening. Customer service goes a long way and with the exception of our waitress, the rest of the service was disappointing. - to the management at CowFish: You aren't doing us a favor by letting us eat there. We are doing you a favor by patronizing your business. read more

Six of us had lunch here on a weekday. The food was terrific, especially the soft shell crab sandwich special. The salads were delicious as well. Good service. Good beer. One of our favorite meals during our stay in Hampton Bays. read more

Though the setting is pretty and on the water, looks can be deceiving. The wait was too long for less than par food. My friends and I waited by the bar and the bartender didn't even say hi and ask us if we would like something to drink; rather pretended we weren't in existence. The beers on tap all tasted as if they hadn't been kept properly or the nozzle had never been cleaned. The $12 margarita was overpriced and made with bottom shelf tequila and was bland much like the food. The food, ugh, way too overpriced with the cheeseburger being the cheapest meal option, and the blackened "Cajun" fish sandwich coming in a close second. Both were terribly bland, lacking any sort of seasoning. The coleslaw was trying too hard with too many herbs trying to make it something special, but only made it taste odd. The stuffed mushrooms were a joke and disgusting and tasted like someone dumped a lot of sugar in the mix. The guac and chips were terrible, with the guac being mostly tomatoes and the chips being super stale and oily. The only positive things I have to say is the view is okay, and our waitress was really friendly and accommodating. Otherwise just no, I could never in good conscience recommend this to family, friends, or the good people of Yelp. read more

I made a reservation, as we were a large group, but the service and food were good and everyone was happy with the menu. The view of the harbor and the cocktails were great. It was a fun way to spend an evening with friends on Long Island's East End. Look forward to coming back. read more

Was looking forward to going here for my brother-in-laws birthday having heard good things from friends. My sister called for a reservation (a week in advance) and was told "they are not taking reservations", we have too just walk in. I thought this odd as the website says make a reservation. So I tried to do it online from their site - and yes indeed I could not - as all was full. So it wasn't that they were not taking reservations - they already had a full house and could not fit us in. So I called the place to verify this - and they told me "don't worry about it" that "they only take reservations for a few tables - they hold the rest for walk-ins". I thought this odd and said I didn't want to have to wait hours - and they assured me it would not be a problem. So we went - and guess what?! The first question they asked was do we have a reservation! I explained what I was told (and she couldn't have been less interested) and said we looking at an hour and a half wait without a reso. When the people in front and after us were all seated (they had reservations of course) I asked our hostess to identify the "few" tables that were held for reservations and those that were held for walk-ins she had the grace to look embarrassed. She evaded the answer and said she didn't who I spoke to since she didn't work that day (hmmm what day? - I never told her what day I called). Needless to say it's a scam to get an already booked restaurant lots of backup and plenty of money spent at the bar waiting. I understand if you are booked and we choose to wait - that would be our choice then - it's just that they deliberately lied on the phone when I asked if they were full up. Since we had driven a while to get here we opted for the wait at the bar (dropped $100 for two rounds 4 people) to a rather surly and unfriendly bartender. My bother-in-law asked for kettle one with an orange wedge. Barkeep said they had no oranges. When he then asked for lemon or lime, he got two of the skinniest, foulest looking wedges (brown at the edges) I have ever seen. Yuck. Also, we had to repeatedly check with the hostess since they "forgot" to give us a pager as the other waiting guests had (and they weren't out we could see stacks of them). Finally seated in 1 hours 15 min later. The waiter immediately came over and asked what we would like. We hadn't even sat much less saw the menu so we asked for a few minutes to peruse. That was a mistake as he decided to disappear for 20 minutes. We flag him down (literally) and place our order, appy and main course for 4. He repeats all - and goes away. Then comes back 3 times to check on what we had ordered. Said he couldn't remember and that "he didn't have a pen". Seriously ?! No bread or anything put on the table while you wait for the meal. The food was mostly good. The scallops and filet mignon was good (however skip the steak sauce as they charge you extra for the privilege of getting steak sauce when you have already spent $42 on the steak - I thought that was poor.). The grilled chicken Caesar tasted too fishy (really I had a better one at Dave & Busters for Pete's sake), but the cornbread appetizer was to die for! The place looks lovely - I will say that, but certainly not enough to make me ever want to go thru this experience again. This is not a place that values it's patrons. Do yourself a favor and find a place that treats its guests well - and above all - never go without a reservation no matter what they tell you - that is unless you like killing an hour a two at the bar. read more

It was our first time at Cowfish. Picked it blindly... and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was beautiful the view was on point as they described. The staff was accommodating, and most importantly the food was delicious. My whole family enjoyed all that they ordered. I live quite far away, but I would definitely leave on a dead start and eat here again. read more

My favorite sandwich is a French Dip, so of course, I ordered "the Best French Dip." It was a good sandwich, but it was not the best. The prime rib was not shaved, it was a folded lump of meat. The au jus may have been mixed with natural, but there was some prepared au jus forming the bulk of what was offered. The bread was nice . It was also $20 which is ridiculously overpriced My husband had the Buffalo Shrimp appetizer and the blackened fish sandwich which he enjoyed. We both thought the shoestring fries were oversalted. Our waiter was very nice. We had a reservation made on Yelp and were seated immediately when we arrived. The location right on the water is lovely. read more

Rumba blows this place out of the water. I wanted to try this new place, simply because I love Rumba so much, but it just wasn't anything special. The food was good, but the waitstaff was all over the place. We ordered appetizers but received two of them after our meals. Throughout dinner, we were told they were almost ready, but they never came out. I actually felt bad for the waitress. Bottom line: stick to Rumba! Better food, better drinks, better waitstaff! read more
