Update: I called the customer service manager, Sherry, and she was super kind & prompt in getting my issue resolved. The part came in, and she got me in the same day to get it installed. I was quoted that it would take 2 hours, but it was done in 1. Hopefully I don't have any issues with my car that require repair anytime soon, but if I need repair, I'll go back to Covert and hope that my initial experience was just a fluke. Original Review: I think I've only written maybe 1 Yelp review ever in the past, but I have to share how terrible my experience has been with this service department. My husband & I bought our Cadillac ATS back in December of last year, and shortly after, the touch screen started cracking from the corner (we assume that it's because of temperature, as it's not a pressure crack or damage). Over the past year, the hairline crack has spread significantly, and it has totally diminished our use of the touch screen. We brought the car in on September 24th to be diagnosed, and the tech said that he'd order a replacement panel under our warranty (we would just need to pay a $50 copay), but that it would take "a couple of weeks" because of the GM strike at the time. Two months went by, and we hadn't heard anything from them about the part coming in, so I called and was told that they would need to re-order it. Was told that it would just take a few days to come in, and that they would call me. I waited another couple of weeks with no phone call & called them back last Friday - was told that it hadn't come in yet, but that it should be in at the beginning of the week & was told that someone would call me. I never heard anything. I called yesterday (Friday, a week since I had last called), and the person I spoke to told me that the part came in on September 25th (the day after our initial appointment, mind you), and that they sent the part back after 30 days. I told him that no one ever communicated to me that the part had ever arrived, and he just took my name & number and said that someone else would call me back. Guess what - I never heard anything (again). So I called back this morning and was transferred to the parts department who then transferred me to the service department...who didn't answer & it went to voicemail. *sigh* I am so beyond frustrated having already waited nearly 3 months for something that was supposed to take "a couple weeks" (and only because of a GM strike that has since ended). We are traveling out of town for Christmas, and we thought that we were WELL ahead of the curve by going in to get this taken care of in SEPTEMBER. Now it looks like we're going to have to drive 8 hours for the holidays with no navigation (and unfortunately, the touch screen navigation controls almost everything since there are hardly any "buttons" outside the screen). And, on top of that, if/when the part finally DOES ever come in, we're still going to be expected to pay the $50 copay even though we've waited 3 months & counting. I am not someone who usually writes reviews but this visit to Covert Cadillac was absolutely fantastic and I felt I needed to share it. Our salesman was Gavin and he was absolutely fabulous! Professional, knowledgeable, and all the wonderful adjectives you can think of. He made the process feel fun and easy. He was so personable that I felt like I was speaking to an old friend. My fiancé and I were at the dealership from late afternoon until around dinner time and when we mentioned that we were hungry, he brought out a box of Round Rock donuts! I brought in my 13 year old card for a trade in, thinking I would maybe get about $500 because it had a lot of miles and mechanical issues. Gavin convinced his manager to bump it up to $750. I bought a 2019 Chevy Equinox and we got a great deal that didn't require any haggling or back and forth for price approvals. They made sure to detail it and fill it up on gas before we left. Our financer, Paul, was also amazing. He was very straightforward with all the options for warranties and protection. He mentioned that he thought he could get the rate lowered and would reach out to my financial intuition for me to see if that was possible. All flare no substance. The dealerships looks great, the cars sell themselves, the salesmen - I don't know where to start. Rude, dismissive, unfriendly and basically give you the impression they are doing you a "favor". So we walked out. Reached out the Cavender Cadillac in San Antonio, where we found, friendly, gracious, wonderful knowledgeable staff that gave us a great deal on a trade in. Don't settle just because these guys are close to Austin, we saved about $6000 by driving an hour, I'd say time VERY well spent. read more

We purchased our Cadillac from Ken Batchelor in San Antonio and had a wonderful experience. We've also used their service department without issue. Because we live in Austin and don't want to make the trek out to SA for maintenance issues we decided to give Covert Cadillac a try. Unfortunately, I've brought my vehicle into their service department twice and both times have had a terrible experience all around. What makes it worse is that 4/5 times the person on the other end of the line is extremely rude. Just a heads up if you're making an appointment- they don't think they need to stick to your appointment time or day. They feel it's acceptable to be busy, not get to your vehicle for days, and not give you a heads up about it. I asked to speak with someone in management about the issues we've had and was forwarded to a voicemail. I won't hold my breath waiting for a call back. read more

Recently had my 2012 CTS-V coupe in at Covert Cadillac to have a diagnosed front control arm replaced while I was out of town for work. I got a text letting me know they couldn't get the lug nuts off and would need them chiseled off for $175 and a new set would be $550. I agreed to them chiseling the lugs off and I'd provide them with Gorilla lugs. I get back from work on Friday to swing by and pick up my car or a loaner. Here's where the fun begins. They couldn't find my car on the lot, at the body shop, or anywhere. I assumed they would just find it in the back or somewhere and went on my way. I messaged the service advisor on Monday to see if the control arm was replaced and towards the end of the day she said it would be finished and ready to pick up Tuesday and they open at 8. I showed up at 8 AM to get my car, pay for the work they performed to remove the lugs (control was covered under warranty). They asked if I wanted them to wash the car, I declined to get on my way. The car came back dripping wet after a wash and I hop in and notice the gas is at 1/4 tank. I usually fill my car up when I go out of town so I come back to a full tank and don't have to worry about filling up again for awhile. I also noticed that the car seemed to have more miles on it than when I dropped it off. At this point I ask the service person if I can see the mileage they wrote down when I took the car in. Registered 39,064, the car was now showing 39,216. I talked to the service advisor and nobody could tell me why it had more miles on it or even where it has been since Friday. All they knew is they couldn't find it Friday and it "showed up" on Monday. They had no idea how the mileage got added but someone drove it for about 150 miles and used ~12 gallons of gas (got ~12.5 mpg, I normally get 14mpg city /20mpg highway, so they were not going easy on it). I asked to talk to the manager, but he was unavailable at the time. I asked to have the manager call me as I had to get on with my day. I then waited 2 days to receive a call and asked the service manager how he would make this right (guessing after 2 days he would have heard about this and thought it through). He mentioned he would give me a tank of gas and then proceed to tell me they had the same issue with an ATS-V. Their plan was to set up some sort of "sting operation" to catch this person. I had asked about cameras on the lot, he mentioned they have some, but the whole lot is not covered. Then I paused and waited for him to say something. Awkwardly, he asked if I were still there and I said yes, I want to know what the plan to make this right is. He proceeded to tell me that they have trouble finding workers (but somehow they're going to find covert agents for this "sting operation"), they have 200 employees and when they hire they hope they're getting good people. I stopped him and said yes, when I take my car to Cadillac, I expect I am hiring a good company to work on my car. That I wanted to continue my relationship with them, but what are your next steps to make this right? He said we can reconvene next week and he will let me know. Meanwhile, a friend of mine at Southwest Kia said he could have one of his guys look it over quickly to see if there are any obvious signs of damage and repair. To be honest, Covert Cadillac could have gotten out of this with a short-term warranty to fix anything that comes up ($0 if the employee didn't break anything), 1hr reimbursement of time from a body shop looking at the car for signs of repair ($175), and a tank of gas ($70). read more

Be very careful bought a Cadilac from here and before I got home the backs of the seats fell off and they said it's not covered. I only have 44k miles on this car . Service says i need sparkplugs, coolant leak , Infotainment center won't work and an oil leak. This is ridiculous at only 44k miles. I will never get a cheaply made Cadilac again. Be aware. I brought it in again after they charge me $1200 to replace spark plugs saying they were fouled it lasted 2 days I brought it back in they said that spark plugs they put in weren't seated correctly it lasted 3 days I brought it back and it's been in there since now they're warranty is trying not to cover saying I put in some kind of stop leak when they are the only ones that worked on this car. They are now trying to tell me I owe $5,900 for a car they only has 44,000 miles . I bought the premium warranty for it because I was told when I bought the car it was the best warranty the car could get. Do not fall for the extended warranty from them it'd be very aware that they will try anyway they can to get around the warranty. read more

3 hours ago I got the car i wanted at a price that i was a little high. 2006 mb slk55 I was unhappy with the sorru price i got for my trade in. That was on me. Salesman chris T. Was first rate. When i went to have it serviced after 3000 miles, 11 months i was sick. The Mb mech said the wrong oil filter was used and smashed ruing the oil cup holder costing 166 to fix. The filter housing was damanaged will cost 366 to repair. Other things 1704 that,wasnt thecsevice person's fault. Get your non cadillac serviced elsewhere. Lucky the engine wasnt damanaged. My Wifes car went in for a small leak that the service person said it would take 3-5 days, it has been over 3 weeks and he states they don't have the parts, Yet when i asked for the part number i find hundreds of these GM parts, yet he says he has to check with parts department and 12 days no communication. Ask to speak to Service Manager and they have no answers, ask to speak to a Covert who name is in the dealership and the answer is no as well. Thoroughly disappointed that my car is in service for over a week and paid over $3k for the service and I receive my Escalade back not even run through the car wash?!?! We pay good money to have service done at the dealership yet they can't even spend the 2 mins it takes to drive thru the car wash onsite? We purchased our son's pre-owned Saab 9-3 SportCombi from Covert Caddilac last month. I worked for LoJack in the early 2000's and while there I got a behind the curtains look on how traditional car dealerships work. That is why the last foru cars we have purchased have been purchased pre-owned and from CarMax. Covert tried none of these dirty tricks. Mind you we bought this car on-line. They offered to transport the car no-charge. Gave me a whole day to get the car inspected by my mechanic and test drive it. If I did not want the car for any reason, say so and they transport it back no question. The car itself was a lucky find, I had been watching it on-line and they dropped the price the day before I made my offer. It was $3k cheaper than other traditional dealership and it was $5k cheaper than an older model from CarMax. The finance and sales guys were not pushy at all. I went in spoke with Brian the Hawaiian and was able to test drive it. I wasn't expecting to buy the car but after Brian mentioned all the features it had and the good price it was asking I had to buy! The buying process was easy, and didn't feel pressured in anyway. The added perks I love is free maintenance for 2 years, and the fact they were able to switch my custom plate over to my new car with out me stepping into the DMV. I was promised by the service advisor Sterling when I brought my car here several months ago, that they'd get to the bottom of my issues. And 3 trips later, multiple items changed or fixed one by one, time after time and I'm still having issues. Why they can't fix items in one visit yet magically find them when I persist and take the care back is a mystery. Service providers were changed out because he acted as if he had a right to be frustrated. Yet, I'm the one who picks up their car, without even leaving the lot and the car is still making noises. I've gone through everyone, shop manager Dan, service manager Nathan. Now Mark who's over the service department. I've submitted multiple videos of the noises to them. The last time my car was there for two weeks, they put 200 miles on it driving it. Yet... Couldn't diagnose the issue and sent it home still making the noises I submitted another video and although everyone I've played it for can hear it. This was my response from Mark Peeler.****** Hi Raine, I apologize for not getting back with you yesterday. Dan and I reviewed both videos/audios of what was presented. We played them numerous times but quite frankly, could not decipher any abnormal sounds in the audio. We are taking it a step further, and have uploaded your files to GM engineering for their take on it. Generally speaking, answer backs from engineering can occur in anywhere from 48 hrs to 7 working days. We are looking for guidance from GM with the information provided. You will be contacted with the next step as soon as the information from engineering is received. Thank you! Mark. ***********My reply************ Thank you for your response. However, I disagree. When going 1.5 miles an hour over a speed bump. There should not be any secondary thunk after the bump. One would need to be hearing Impaired not to hear these sounds. I've played them for multiple people who clearly discern the noises. And popping - snapping from the wheel when it's turned should not occur either. Nor should the loud bang as if the car hit bottom with no absorbers on the front end. As I stated, I could not get that on recording as it happens infrequently. I suspect at this time I'll need to take it to another garage to have it evaluated. And I'll go on record here if anything happens due to malfunction in way of accidents or damage. So about 45 days ago I stopped by Covert Cadillac to check out a couple of SUV's that I had located on their website....worst mistake I ever made, Lord why didn't I just keep drive past this place? So I go in and I connect with the first sales rep available, Ben Streckenbach...who introduced me to a 2009 GMC Yukon (which was surprisingly a pretty clean vehicle inside and out. After inspecting it and test driving it, the only thing that I notice wrong with it was a couple of tolerable bumps and bruises and the "Tire Pressure TMPS" Light was on...I decided to move forward with the purchase (my next big mistake) and to feel like a valued customer I asked Ben if they would at minimun check the tire pressure and fix that minor problem...in which he immediately said "no, we are just not willing to spend another dime on the vehicle, we already have too much money invested in it" LIES (and I still sat there like a idiot blinded by vehicle needs) So i make the purchase and drive off the lot with a full tank of Fuel...this is when the true nightmare begins...long story short, the lights flicker, the radio turns off and on, the check engine light is on, the "REAR DOOR ACCESS OPEN" INDICATOR is on even thought the door is closed, I can not drive this vehicle past 6pm because every dome light the vehicle has is on and the glare from the windows makes it impossible to drive durning the night...subsequently the light will either come on and willl not turn off or turn off and not turn on...so everywhere I go I have to raise the hood and disconnect the battery just so my battery don't drain, also the vehicle has a powerful surge as if when I am applying the breaks, the accelerator is still engaged.....THIS IS SOOOO FREAKING HUMILIATING AND INCONVENIENT!!! I am a small business owner so I pride myself on superb customer service...I hate it with a passion having to write reviews like this but I purchased an extended warranty as well as additional coverage that at this point feels like lip service because these freaking people cannot get me in any sooner that November 25th, 2019 (I have been waiting a couple of weeks now), because they claim not to have an available loaner car....Meanwhile everyday there is a new problem with this vehicle. I have called the service department many times now and they present to me a idgf attitude each and every time, they just blow me off as if my issues are not important nor valid. I had the VIN # and a picture of the car I wanted to purchase from Covert Cadillac. I was told that specific car had been taken home by a Covert employee and would be returned by 3pm on Saturday. They lied to me - the car had been given to another customer. I signed the deal, paid a large down payment, left my expensive trade in on their lot, UNDER FALSE PRETENCES, thinking my new car would be delivered to me first thing Monday morning. Who knows how many miles were put on my car or how it has been driven over the past weekend. This is the 4th car I have purchased from Covert but it will definitely be the last. It's 10:30am on Monday morning and the car has not yet been returned to Covert, so where is it??? This is downright unethical, in my opinion! read more

Stopped by to get my keyfob replace as it was falling apart, the rubber membrane is disintegrating and I didn't want it to get damaged by moisture. I was informed by the service advisors that keyfobs are not covered by the bumper to bumper warranty. I went home and looked in the warranty coverage and it specifically says that only keyfob batteries are excluded from coverage. The bumper to bumper warranty says that everything is covered unless it is listed in the not covered items list. I looked twice, keyfobs are not on the list of excluded items. I called another dealership and they were happy to replace the keyfob. I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR FROM ANY COVERT Dealership and I will certainly never take either my Cadillac or my Ford back to them for any service. read more

i live out of state. i found the vehicle we wanted on autotrader. i contaced covert cadillac bee cave. worked with the salesperson - rod harrell over the phone, email, and text messaging. i looked at their online ratings - didn't see anything that would dissuade us from buying from them. my husband and i scheduled an appointment to come in, view, test drive, and purchase the vehicle. i had the financing all put together with my local bank for that specific car. we flew in with the expectation of driving the vehicle home - which would be approximatley 12 1/2 hours drive. we arrived at the dealership at 9:15 am. the suv was parked out front and ready for our test drive. we took the test drive and we decided to purchase the vehicle. i had a cashier's check for the out of state sales taxes and a down payment. all my bank needed from the dealership was wiring instructions. the finance manager told our salesperson that a wire takes 3 days to clear and that we wouldn't be able to take the vehicle for 3 days. i had work meetings the next day - we couldn't take 3 days. but they had a solution - the dealership could do the financing through one of their banks and they would do everything they could to match my banks rate and terms. i gave them the information needed to do the financing. after about an hour the finance manager came back and said that we were approved but the rate was slightly higher. she is going to work for us to get the bank to match our bank's rate. so, we sat some more and we sat - for almost 2 hours at this point. at 11:30 am my banker called me to follow up on the wiring instructions. i informed him that they told me that a wire took 3 days. he informed me that wires are same day and can be verified. what?? they lied to us?? they made us wait around for no reason. my banker let me know that there was a 2 o'clock cut off time and to get the wire instructions to him. i let the salesperson know that i was aggravated and that i was not going to finance with them and that i was misinformed about the wire. i was still willing to buy the vehicle - just using my own pre-established financing with my bank. so, the not so nice finance manager - sandra borrego came back and took us into her office to do our paperwork. she handed me a paper with wiring instructions. i asked if she could email those to my banker. yes. so, i sent her an email and included my banker so that they both had each other's emails. i also called my banker on speaker so that ms. borrego could get any information from him that she would need. this was at 12:02 pm - i have an email that is time stamped. the paperwork took less than 10 minutes. i gave her my cashier's check and then went back to the salesperson's office to wait, and wait, and wait....... at 1:23 pm i had not heard anything from anyone so, i touched base with my banker to see if he had sent the wire. no, he had not received the wiring instructions from the finance manager and he had even sent her another email request since the last time we spoke with him. so now i'm mad. i had been there for over 4 hours. i came through the doors this morning basically saying i want to buy that $65,000 car. i have a check in my hand and a wire to be sent to you. where do i sign. this company lost a sale that was "in the bag" because their finance manager didn't get her way - she didn't get to control the financing. she didn't get the sale on the extended warranty - so she held up my financing - in my opinion - trying to force me into a corner so that i had no other choice except to do the financing with through her. remember, we did fly in and we needed that car to get home. i was lucky that we were able to book a flight home that day, so i booked our flights and scheduled a lyft to pick us up from the dealership to go back to the airport. i apoligized to our salesperson - he didn't do anything wrong - not his fault. told him that we would not be buying a car from covert cadillac. i walked into the finance manager's office, got my check back and went to the lobby to wait for the lyft to the airport. then the sales manager came out and asked us what was wrong - i explained. at this point he said - "just take the car" we will figure out the wire tomorrow and get it taken care of. what??? really!!!! what about the 3 days thing that was told to me 4 hours ago?? buying a $65,000 car is stressful enough without being lied to and manipulated. i have bought several cars and i have never had this kind of experience before. i thought i was an experienced car buyer. i can add this to the experiences, i guess. my husband and i spent slightly over $1,000 in travel costs and lost a complete day of our lives to this experience. so, beware of this dealership, unless of course you don't mind being lied to and manipulated. read more

The sales process went amazingly well. Everything was done over the phone and the new Cadillac XT5 Platinum was delivered to my door 30 miles away. They promised Valet service--a car would be brought to me and mine picked up for all servicing. Well the first event--they wanted to replace the material on top of the dashboard--did not go well with the valet service. They were over an hour late with no phone call. But, the fellow took my car and left a nice XT5 for me. They took my car last Friday, 9/6. The fellow who picked it up said it would probably be ready Monday or soon thereafter. On Thursday of the following week, I called to see what the story was. The service rep called me back after an hour and said that the new dash they had ordered was not in good shape. Please note that they told me this new dash material had arrived in mid-August. That they had ordered a new piece and it wouldn't be here until Monday. So, my car will not be ready until some time next week. My guess is it will take them 2 weeks to do a simple replacement of a dash upholstery. That wouldn't be so horrible if anyone WOULD EVER CALL ME! I asked Michele if I hadn't called her, when would she have called me and let me know about the issue and when my car would be ready? It would also be better if they had sent a loaner that was the equivalent of my car. This one has limited safety features that I think are so important. Guess I will consider servicing my car at the local GM dealer and see if they are any better. Don't go to Covert service department. It stinks. read more

I leased a 2019 Cadillac XT4 from Covert Cadillac in February 2019. It has been in their service department more than it has been in my garage. The car is a lemon. They cannot fix the stabilitrak that has been faulty since February of this year. They keep telling me it will be fixed either tomorrow or next week but it has not. All I want to do is get a different car that runs!! Without problems!! read more
