The text I sent to my USED car salesman Kafui, after my wife sent me a picture of the car I negotiated, down to the interest rate and extended warranty from another state: I came into this pretty defensive. I've had shady .stuff. pulled before. But you were polite, fair, honest, and incredibly efficient. In the face of, honestly, kind of an a.hole. I appreciate you. As a reviewer known for lighting companies on fire, I hope the review I leave carries some weight. Thank you for your hard work, Kafui. Now, the shop is usually where the wheels fall off. We'll see how it holds up. Stay tuned everyone. For now, 10/10, would recommend.

Broken, like the service

This is our 2nd visit where we came in for routine service and had a bad experience. Last year they tried to sell us a new windshield for no reason. A salesman showed us a picture of our shattered window. Our window was fine. He showed us a windshield not ours and tried to convince us we just missed it. We insisted we get to see it. After a dog and pony show, he admitted his "mistake." We're here again for routine service. This time they washed the car and that's all. I was told that's all we were there for. After a serious death stare, I said we were not leaving without the required service. My husband is very hearing impaired and I don't hear well. But if I hadn't been there to hear them, he would have driven away with a clean car and dirty oil and no tire rotation. What happened to service?

I have bought a couple of vehicles from Covert over the years and those first experiences were ok, but this time I wasn't in the market for a truck but a Cadillac. I am going to sum it up with Covert puts add-ons on their vehicles so none of them are reasonably priced. I ended up buying my Cadillac XT6 Sport with the exact color and options I wanted without compromise from Sewell Cadillac Dallas. They drove the car to me! Covert asked me to compromise. When buying a brand new car, don't compromise. Go elsewhere.

BG is a liar. You know who you are. Service department was great, 5 stars. Service advisor was fantastic! Provided excellent service. Only problem leaving a 1-star review is that the service department was top notch. Finance was honest and fast, 5 stars. My salesman BG lied to me. Had a question about my Cadillac lease agreement 3-months after the sale. BG said he was unable to find the paperwork. Claimed it had been filed away. If they had a problem with my new car, BG would have been able to find the contract in 5-minutes. Because I had a concern he didn't want to deal with it, and lied. This review only reflects BG. That guy lies for a living. Avoid salesman with the initials BG. Or avoid this dealer, go to Cavendar Cadillac for new car sales.

During Covid staff wore masks and all tables were spaced out. The place to go for a good deal, professional and friendly staff, and no bullsh*t. This is my 5th car purchase so I know what I'm talking about. We dealt with "Brian the Hawaiian" who was actually promoted to managing staff now as well as Anthony the manager. I've never appreciated a dealership more. It was pouring rain when we came in and Brian greeted us at our car with a huge umbrella to keep us dry. He brought us coffees and we discussed what we wanted to pay and the deal we wanted. Anthony popped in and gave us a deal close to what we wanted. Working with both os them was so refreshing. We came to a number we wanted together and that was it. No one pushed us or rushed us or moved us in a direction we did not want. It was fast, easy, and I would highly recommend this dealership! I traded in my car here (it was hard to give up my stingray) and I felt they even respected that process since she was my baby. They communicate, theyre sweet and funny, we are so happy to have found them (we went to many dealerships before finding this one).

Here's what happened:…read more I went in for an oil change on 12/12/25 (not covered by warranty, but i love how they wash and detail the inside and outside of the car so I ALWAYS come here). While they're inspecting the car, Fransisco notices I need a new battery. "Eh, out of budget for me right now" I tell him. BUT WAIT Instead of trying to sell me a battery, the legend Cisco points out that a new battery is covered under warranty for my 2022 Lincoln Corsair. "I don't have a warranty" says I. "You do for 9 more days!" says he. So I come back Monday for a new battery. In and out in 90 minutes, I am -- but the whole time I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. And drop it does. Jimmy tells me I need new hood struts. Again, I'm no fool -- I'm not falling for this upsell. le sigh Okay Jimmy, what's that gonna run me? "Oh we can get it covered under your warranty since it's still good and it's when the car is dropped off that matters." "Oh!" I respond, completely surprised, looking around for that other shoe that never hit me. Okay can we do it today? "Well..." Ah, here it comes I'm thinking. "It takes a week or two to replace those." THERE IT IS! I knew there was a catch! Except... "But don't sweat it because we can get you a rental under your warranty for the whole time it's in the shop!" This is wild. Okay, I'll be back tomorrow (12/16/25, cutting it close). I get home and get a call from Tracy. "Hey there, this is Tracy from Covert -- I'm calling because you may have gotten some bad information on rental coverage." Bummer. I knew it was too good to be true. Except Tracy called me back the next day and said they worked it out and I'm good to go! So I bring in the car on 12/18 (eek, 3 days left of warranty), they order me a lyft to take me to hertz, get me my big ol' SUV that fits me (I'm large) and tell me my coverage is good for 10 days. This is slightly worrisome with the holidays and all, but they assure me it'll get done. I call on the 26th for an update, and they tell me the parts were ordered that day and take 2-3 business days to arrive. I voice my concern about my coverage ending the 28th on the rental, and get a call back from Patrick that afternoon. "Don't sweat it, we got your rental coverage extended another 10 days!" WOW. Fast forward to Tuesday, 12/30 (well past warranty end now), and I get a call from Cisco. "Hey Mr. Bengal, mixed news for you sir -- the car is ready BUT there was an issue when we were doing the struts. TLDR (too late for that but still) the warranty wouldn't actually be able to cover the struts, but because they said it would, they honored it on their end by applying a bunch of discounts. Cisco felt bad, but let me know I *would* have to pay a bit. Total out of pocket: $21.85. I brought them a catering tray to show my appreciation, but that damn sure isn't enough so I'm writing to share the experience. and let everyone know that I will 100% be buying my next car (looking at a Lincoln Nautilus) from Covert Ford/Lincoln, and splurging for the extended warranty -- all because of Tracy, Cisco, Jimmy, and Patrick. This is the first time in my life that i've ever felt like my service center is trying to help me rather than trying to upsell me, and I couldn't be happier to have car trouble!

I hate going out there due to the longer drive, but Marble Falls Ford is much much better. This dealership just feels nasty. The dealer should clean the house, but this dealer is lazy af.

Took the car to get an oil change and while getting an oil change, the technician said they saw a leak from the rear disc. Took the car to get diagnosed on a Friday, said it would take 3-4 days. Then, Wednesday of the next week comes around and had no communication about the car or when the car would be done, so I called to check for an update. Asked The service person I talked with didn't have an update about when the car would be done. I asked for a loaner car (covered and should be available with the extra I paid for when I bought the car) said the loaner vehicle wouldn't be available until after my car was done being diagnosed. Which when asked when it would be diagnosed, He still didn't have an answer. I reach out again on Thursday still no answer as to when the car will be diagnosed. I finally gave up and went to retrieve my car because this is a waste of time, money and gas. I paid for something that now feels like a scam. Additionally, when I bought the car, it was never mentioned to me that it only had one Key. However, when I went to pick it up, there was only one key. I asked how can I get a second key. They said we can schedule you. I tried for months and then they stopped responding. When we went to get the car diagnosed I asked if we could finally get the second key since it's been 4 months since I've been trying to get one. They said absolutely we can. Even had confirmation from the service person I talked to on Wednesday that it would be done the next day. The car was there for almost a week they didn't get anything that not only I paid for with my warranty but what they said they would do.

I hate this so much that I've bought my last two cars from Carvana simply because I wouldn't have to speak to anyone. I find the stereotypical car-buying experience (new and, especially, used) to be unnecessarily stressful and taxing. Today, this has changed. When I found a slightly better deal locally than I did on Carvana, I took the plunge. From the beginning, Angela was super helpful and responsive. She didn't insist on talking on the phone and was happy to text details, which is infinitely more manageable during the workweek. When it came time to make the trek to Austin e Autos, Angela let me know that she would be off that day and handed off the deal to Isaac. Isaac is the best. Isaac put us through the paces of letting us test drive, then talking numbers. At no point did the numbers they advertised ever change. I came in with pre-approval through USAA, and they did not push me toward in-house financing. This has never happened to me before. They usually push that really hard. Once the numbers were agreed upon, we were handed over to Stephanie for the paper signing. This was equally painless, and there was no push to buy extended warranties, wheel insurance, GAP, etc, etc, etc. The numbers we discussed with Isaac were the exact numbers we signed off on with Stephanie. Incredibly painless, transparent, and honest process. My wife loves her car, and I am very impressed by the buying experience. If you're in the market for a used EV, look here first. All the stars. He made such a positive impression that when I finally decided to make my purchase in December I sought him out specifically. He was/is very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Would give 0 stars if possible. We purchased a 2019 Subaru…read moreOutback 3.6L brand new from Subaru Austin and owned it for 6 years, putting approximately 120,000 miles on the vehicle. We bought this vehicle because of everything Subaru stands for: "94% of them are still on the road after 10 years", they're durable and long lasting, we're outdoorsy, gay, have dogs, all of the stereotypes check check check. We loved our service guy, but hindsight, we were screwed by this dealership: Every service--oil changes, filters, transmission services, inspections, and all recommended maintenance--was performed exclusively at Subaru Austin. Over those years, we spent well over $20,000 on service and repairs. For tens of thousands of miles (well before 60K), I repeatedly documented and reported transmission-related symptoms: Jerking and hesitation Poor acceleration and lack of power RPMs surging unpredictably Difficulty driving uphill Eventually, consistent burning smells Each time, we were told it could be the transmission but they were unable to diagnose any issue. At approximately 90,000 miles, Subaru of America agreed to cover 50% of major engine repairs (CVT front pump chain and CS head gasket), which required removing the engine and still cost us over $6,000 out of pocket. Less than 30,000 miles later, we were told the CVT had completely failed and needed to be replaced for $10,000, or we could purchase a used transmission with 66K miles for $2,800, or Subaru Austin would offer $12,000 for the vehicle. This came immediately after another disastrous service visit where: We spent $1,400 diagnosing the wrong AC issue Returned one week later for the actual issue (cracked radiator fan) after being given the car back The vehicle was returned to us damaged (front passenger door) We provided photo and video evidence proving the damage occurred during service. Subaru Austin initially agreed to repair the door properly, acknowledging it would require full repainting and blending, costing several thousand dollars. Instead, they later reversed course and offered a $500 check, stating management had "nixed" the repair. We were also told that if we sold the vehicle back to them, we would no longer be eligible for that $500. Here is where things crossed a line. We took the vehicle to CarMax, who offered $12,000, matching Subaru Austin's offer. CarMax did not detect the transmission failure. When we attempted to negotiate with Subaru Austin using this offer, we were asked whether CarMax knew about the transmission issue. We answered honestly: no. Subaru Austin then told us they would not increase their offer--but that if we sold the vehicle to CarMax with the bad transmission, they would still give us the $500 "courtesy" check. In other words, we were encouraged to offload a vehicle with a known major defect to another dealer so Subaru Austin wouldn't have to deal with it. Talk about deceptive trade practices and fraud!!! We refused and sold the car back to Subaru Austin. Three days later, the vehicle was listed on Subaru Austin's website for over $18,000, advertised as: One-owner Local trade All services completed at Subaru Austin There was no mention of transmission issues. Given the timeline, I highly doubt a $10,000 transmission replacement occurred before relisting. A few weeks later, the listing disappeared. Shoutout to whoever bought the green/java 2019 outback 3.6L with last 4 VIN#3377... If you are considering buying or servicing a vehicle here, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, seeking independent diagnostics, and understanding that loyalty, documentation, and following all recommendations do not guarantee ethical treatment. This experience was financially devastating, emotionally draining, and completely avoidable.

About a month after driving it, the paint on the bumper and fender started peeling, which I found strange. When I reached out to them, their staff was extremely rude, evasive, and dismissive, insisting they had nothing to do with it and that it was my job to ask if the car had been wrecked -- which I actually did during the purchase. The salesman falsely claimed later that he told me. I took the vehicle to a trusted body shop, and that's when everything came to light. The entire front clip had clearly been repainted poorly, without proper primer, and that's why the paint is peeling. The bumper had glue and zip ties instead of proper clips, and worst of all -- the airbags had previously deployed and been repaired, something they absolutely knew when they sold it to me. They intentionally hid this major damage from me, banking on the fact that it wasn't reported to Carfax. It's a textbook example of how some dealers manipulate the "clean Carfax" label. I even tried filing a lawsuit, only to be told I couldn't because I unknowingly signed an arbitration agreement required to buy the car. This is not just shady -- it feels like fraud. They sold me what was advertised as a premium vehicle, fully aware of its condition. I still don't know if my airbags even work properly. Please be very careful if you're considering buying from them. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

CarMax

This was my first time working with CarMax. I wanted to sell my 2020 low-mileage Hyundai Kona,…read morebecause the dealership where I was buying my new car was unlikely to be interested. The selling process is pretty simple if you do the bulk of the work online ahead of time. It starts with a self-appraisal of your vehicle, which generates an offer that may be adjusted when the car is brought in. If you like your offer, you must bring the car in within 7 days. I was reasonably pleased with my offer, which suggested they thought the car should sell easily for more than they paid for it. If you decide to sell your car within that 7-day timeframe, gather your title and registration documents and submit these along with proof that you're the owner(s). Each owner must submit copies of both sides of their driver's licenses and take a selfie. If everything required is submitted online, an approval is given and you can set up an appointment to come in. We did this on a Saturday, and while the place was busy our transaction was completed in about an hour. Still, I'd suggest you choose a weekday (if possible) to visit. I can't evaluate the buying side of things, but the selection of vehicles at this location is phenomenal, with many flavors of each model. I'm guessing that you will pay more for this convenience, but it might be well worth it.

I would rather have the expectations of being in a dealership for 5 hours instead of wasting my time online, filling out all of the documents and being under the impression that I would be in and out in 30 minutes and ask the same questions that were answered online and on the phone when someone from carmax called me. 1.. The process totally wasted my time. I spent a good amount of time online filling out all documentations.Answering all questions only to be asked those same exact questions. When I got to the dealership. 2. I got to the dealership roughly at 4:30. I was told that I would be out numerous times within thirty minutes. All I would have to do is sign and go. Well, that was the first misleading statement from carmax. I did not leave the dealership until 9:30. 3. The salesperson that was assigned to me.His name was ramsey. I never felt comfortable with this guy.He never made me feel as if my best interest was being met. The process felt just like a process.Give me in, get me out.Let him move on to the next person. He spoke to me in a very condescending wait, in fact, I had to correct him a couple of times about the way he was speaking to me. He spoke to me as f I was a individual who lacked the intelligence to understand the process. 4. Ramsay also didn't give me the full carmax experience of when you buy a new car. while waiting 44 and a half hours, I did see other salespeople. When they finished up their sale, walk with their clients to their new car and give them the yellow bow treatment with the pitcher. Well, needless, say that is not an experience that I got with ramsey. As I said previously, everything seemed like a rush process, he made me totally feel like I was an inconvenience to him.And wasting his time. 5. Let's talk about the appraisal process. Now, this isn't something that i'm really upset about, because you can't really have a vehicle appraised online and have an actual good appraisal without an actual appraiser.Looking at the car. Online, they told me, initially I was gonna get $8000 for my car, well, turns out, I only got $6400. 6. Let's talk about the car. I purchased a 2024 BMW 330I with the M2 Sports package with 7,100 miles on it. After spending 425 hours in the dealership, it was finally time for me to get my car. WELL THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WHEN I GOT INSIDE THE CAR WAS THAT THE FLOOR MATS WERE GENERIC FLOOR MATS THAT DID NOT FIT THE CAR AT ALL. AND WHEN I SAY THEY DID NOT FIT THE CAR AT ALL, MEANING THE FLOOR MATS ACTUALLY COVERED THE GAS PEDAL. i brought this to the attention of the floor sales manager. Instead of coming up with helpful solutions from the beginning I was told that the pitchers online did not come with floor mats.So they just threw some floor mats in there. Again, I told this guy that this is a safety issue. The floor mats literally covered the gas.Pedal, and they let me drive off that way. They told me to find some floor mats under a hundred and fifty dollars, and they were reimburse me. Now I'm not the sharpest knife in it. Kitchen drawer? But I would always think that a dealership's top priority is to make sure they're letting you leave in a nice safe vehicle At the very least, they could have said.Hey, let us take these car mats out this vehicle. And when you buy some new ones, just bring us the receipt and reimburse you.No that did not happen. 7. Let's continue to talk about the car. Before carmax sells your car. They are supposed to do a quality inspection on the vehicle. I'm under the impression that this vehicle did not get a dural quality.Inspection. My reasoning for saying that is because the following day When I took the car to where I work at which is ABM W dealership It was pointed out to me that the windshield had a very large crack in it. Now to give carmax credit, they did get that problem.Taken care of they replaced the entire windshield. The car was also missing all four valve stem caps. Does summit all up my first and last car buying experience with carmax was an utter failure. The only reason I left with this car is because of myself. Pride, because I was telling everyone I was buying this car, and I had to deal wrapped up.That's the sole reason that I bought this car. I'm pretty sure that ramsey and his entire sales team mayfield, as if they got one over me by selling me this car at the non negotiated price that I wanted online and then me still buying a car after the whole entire bad experience. Well I may have left with this car But carmax will never see me again as a customer, and I hope that these words read to someone before they make a decision to buy a vehicle from you all..
