I met up with my peeps for a quick drink and some lunch. We had a great time while there. Its a great place to have a drink at the bar and/or sit down at a table to have a meal. I had a delicious mojito cocktail that was refreshing; I would definitely order that drink again. We also tried the Strawberry Basil Lemonade cocktail that is as well but between the two I choose Cover 3 mojito because its not as sweet; its light & tasty. For food, I had the po' boy lunch special and it comes with parmesan fries. Everything was delicious and the time there was great especially with a server like John. Its like we got to watch shorts skits at our table. The price range is and the bill was a bit over $100. We went there Thurs. 8/22/24 at 3:00pm. We went there specifically for prime rib. We didn't know we had to wait until 4pm until we could place the order. I got mixed up about the times for prime rib during the week vs. the weekend. When we took the first bite, we couldn't believe that that meat was being passed off as prime rib. We asked for medium for me and medium rare for my friend...not even close. We did like the horseradish sauce and the side of mashed potatoes. read more

I've been here a handful of times to catch games and found it's a solid fallback option if we don't want to try somewhere new or go out of the highland area. There's plenty of comfortable seating, and they do a mostly reasonable job of spacing people inside and out. The drink prices and selection could both be better, but there's enough variety that I haven't gotten bored in my visits and nothing is egregiously overpriced. Food wise you look at the menu and get the impression it's very standard American fare, and you wouldn't be totally wrong, but I've been pretty impressed with some items. In particular the sliders and chicken were both considerably bigger and more flavorful than I expected. But I'm most cases I've found the food to be just okay. Overall I'd say its a good place to have in your sports bar rotation if you're in central/north Austin, but nothing to write home about read more

Excellent place for a casual Sunday meeting with friends or an even dinner with your spouse. For appetizers my favorite is the Mongolian pork lettuce wraps.a little bit on the sweet side with a excellent mustard sauce and a little bit of exotic spice. All of the burgers are good but one of my favorites is the French onion burger grilled medium. The burger is so tasty you definitely do not need ketchup. The fries are a little bit small and greasy but they do have parmesan and salt sprinkled on them with parsley ground sprinkled throughout. The filet mignon is also an excellent choice for a main entree and the salads are loved by many of my friends. After losing the cover3 near downtown, it's been a awhile since I've visited a Cover 3... safe to say... they still have the best buffalo chicken tenders I've ever tasted. Do not get wings... you have to get the tenders drenched in that amazing tangy sauce. Don't forget to dip it in that sweet fresh ranch. I didn't get the jerk chicken wings but they are probably still fabulous. Everything that I expected from this place did not play out as planned. I dined in for my birthday and the waiter was extraordinarily young and awkward. When he asked for my ID I thought he would at least see the birthday but that obviously wasn't the case. Almost all of our drinks and apps and main dishes came out by a manager. It was a very awkward dining experience -- my friend was never able to mention my birthday comfortably and so it just fell flat as a dining experience. The food was okay, I had the shrimp and chicken pasta. My partner had the allandale salad, one friend had a burger, another had a sandwich. All the food came out at different times, my pasta coming out first about ten minutes earlier than everyone else's food. I honestly wouldn't even mention this if not for the real problem I had. The drinks were good, especially the Lime and the Coconut. We have a 9 month old, there is no changing station or table. I had to change my babies diaper on his changing pad on the floor. The bathroom was disgusting, smelled foul, and had a very dirty floor that I had to kneel on to change my baby. This is the smallest accommodation you could make for parents. Don't want kids there at all? Notify me at the door so I don't have a soiled baby with no place to change them. Not every single place has to be baby friendly, I enjoy childless environments at times, but I'd like to be told so so that I can choose a place that welcomes families. It was so disgusting that I had to kneel on the bathroom floor and try to keep my baby on his small mat so he wasn't crawling on the bathroom floor in the middle of our meal. read more

I opted for a Michelada and maybe arrived 10 minutes later then was possibly the worst I've ever had. Barely more than a beer. Service had us asking if we had come at a bad time. OK, so I think I just found my new favorite restaurant near me. Someone at my wife's company had ordered food from here for some VIP visitors coming in, and they had a lot left over, so she brought home a couple of things: A Caesar salad and some chicken enchiladas. The Caesar dressing was the best I've EVER had, and the salad was topped with long (like 4 or 5 inches) strips of shaved parmesan...outstanding salad. The chicken enchiladas and the rice they came with were also phenomenal. So we decided we'd probably ought to go check them out in person, which we did for lunch today...Another memorable experience highlighted by the Allandale salad and a burger, which I later found out was #12 in Texas Monthly's 2009 top burgers in the state. We had planned on sharing, and they split it for us without our asking for it. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed every moment. Great, efficient, friendly service. The indoor space looked very inviting, but it was a little too cool in there for us. We decided we'd return on a Sunday to watch some football on one of their many, many TV screens. Only negative was the $7/draft beer, That was a little surprising considering how reasonably priced everything else was on the menu. But once I sat at the bar and seeing others enjoying beers and food I decided to stay here to eat. I got a local beer on tap and studied the menu. They had a lunch menu of which I ordered cheese enchiladas. The place is very nice and upper scale. The bartender is helpful and made me feel very welcomed. Either the chef or owner was at the bar chatting with regulars and everyone seemed happy feeling this place is doing well. My food arrived and looked and smelled great. It tasted very good with no complaints. I used my gift card to pay and thought it only had a few bucks, but it was loaded. Plenty left to return for another great lunch. read more

Walked in at around 7:30 pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait for a party of 2. There are lots of different seating selections - from half booths to full booths to high top tables to upstairs seating and outdoor picnic style seating. Wherever you sit, you are bound to have at least 1 TV in sight. Lots of people were also sitting at the bar as well. This place is great for groups. I ordered the Brick Chicken Mac n' Cheese and it was great! I would definitely have that again if I were to come back. Cover 3, what happened? You used to be a shining example of great operation- I literally watched wait staff organizing sugar bowls after a diner left. Always consistent food and drinks and great service. Now it's disgustingly dirty, not as good drinks (looks like bar flies/regulars is the norm now days), and the food wasn't the same standard it used to be. I can't get over how filthy the facility was considering it started as such a beautiful space. Also- there are no baby changing tables anywhere- not even in the ladies restroom. read more

I've been to more than my fair share of sports bars/restaurants. But I really didn't expect the brunch I had at Cover 3. The Migas were killer! Maybe the best I have had. They were a tad on the pricey side, I thought. But you know what? The blend of the eggs with the awesome queso was worth it. They have a very expansive Bloody Mary bar (although it was a tad bit messy after all those day drinkers had swarmed it) and a mimosa bar as well. The sparkling wine for the mimosa was the too sweet, unrefined glass of bubbles we unfortunately have come to expect which is unfortunate since there are cavas and domestic bruts which are affordable and far more tasty for the task. But I plan on going back to hit that Bloody Mary bar and get down on those Migas again...and then maybe I'll explore the rest of the menu too. I'll keep you posted! read more
