The first drink on the drink menu is delicious! I don't remember what it was called... nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. The pan seared perogies were very good as well! Entrees are a little pricey. My French dip was super bland and kind of dry but the fries were perfect. My boyfriends Mac n cheese was tasty with a hint of spicy. We will probably return and I will choose a burger or something other than the French dip. read more

Great vibes at county fare! This place has an ever changing, yet always delicious drink menu and a great selection of beers. The food menu also changes from time to time but is consistent with being delicious. I've tried the Mac and cheese, buffalo cauliflower, chicken pot pie (my favorite), pierogies and sweet Thai ribs (currently off the menu). For the record - this was not all in one visit. Anyway, I've loved every meal, drink, and appetizer that I've had here and will surely be returning - I have my eye on the hot chocolate cocktail that is currently on the menu. read more

I'm a vegan living in Dutchess County, NY (violins slowly fade in...) so I'm just going to jump right in. Vegan tempeh reuben, buffalo cauliflower (also vegan) with house made vegan "blue cheese" dipping sauce, fantastic! The first time my Wife and I stopped in was for a quick drink and the friendly bartender, cute & comfortable pub vibe, and promise of vegan options, put this cozy little place on our "to come back to" list. They have a small, but nicely curated selection of draft beers all available in growlers as well. They have a very interesting cocktail menu, and I also noticed a vegan veggie burger, but I'll save those for next time, and there definitely will be a next time. Well done, and cheers! read more

We were looking for somewhere to eat with our family today after some mini golf and we looked on yelp and found this great little place. From when we came in the staff was welcoming and we chose to sit in their outdoor seating which was adorable. The water is served in green wine bottles which was a nice touch. The waitress we had was extremely nice and was very informative about their cocktails in which her sister is the bartender. We had the tots and pretzel for appetizers which were delicious. We then had various burgers for dinner. My mother's Mac n cheese I heard was to "die for" and her fried chicken was excellent. All our burgers were Cooked perfectly. I had the sweet-Orr burger and my husband had the Mac n cheese burger which was delicious! Everything about this restaurant is not to be missed. This is a must go if you love comfort food and a staff that makes you feel welcomed! Highly recommend! read more

First time here. I like the Atmosphere it's different and cool. The staff was really nice. The food was delicious I like their burger menu lots of unique choices. I had a pizza burger which was amazing. And the fries were good as well, usually I'm very picky with my fries, the right amount of seasoning not too oily or too hard to bite or too soggy. They have a great selection of beers, tried a Captain Lawerence smoothie dreams, it was a yes of sweet and bitter, honestly it taste like grapefruit with alcohol. I then tried a Barelywine, not a fan too bitter tasted like I was drinking straight from a bottle of Jack Daniels, good after taste though. I wish they had more of a dessert menu, had what I believe was a breaded pudding which was a caramelized bread with salt on top actually really good. It was a little loud in there I couldn't hear the waitress all too well. I would def return though! read more

Cozy, hipster healthy pub grub in the now growing trendy area of downtown Wappingers Falls. The buffalo cauliflower was tasty and the fish and chips were tasty and not greasy. Take note if you are expecting a big piece of greasy cod fish and chips this is not the place to get it. I saw a lot of healthy and vegetarian options on the menu as well. First time here and happy we checked it out. What a great spot. A lot of care has gone into the menu and as a vegetarian, I was pleased! Several comfort food options... Tempe Reuben is next on my list, and that mac and cheese looks so good! Comfortable decor, local craft beers, and even some mock-tails and locally made sodas are on the menu. Living in Wappingers, there isn't a whole lot to get excited about. I mean let's be real... It's close enough to other more lively areas like New Paltz, Fishkill and Beacon for it to be irrelevant. Recently however the village does appear to be showing some signs of life with a few new place opening. County Fare was one of those new spots. Stopped here a couple of Sundays back with some friends visiting from the city for the first time. First impression was that it was a huge (or is Yuuuuge more appropriate these days?) upgrade over the previous dingy bar that was here. I like the atmosphere they created and the signs from old local businesses was a nice touch (who knew Wappingers was such a large overall manufacturer back in the day??). The beer menu featured many local NY brews. I read on their IG account to that they also have "bar takeovers" where local brewers will bring their beers in and feature them for a timeframe) and that sounds like a cool idea. The actual menu itself featured some enticing options. My buddies went with bacon Mac and cheese and a burger. Both loved it and couldn't nearly come close to finishing the Mac and cheese dish, definitely a nice size portion. I enjoyed my burger and my wife was a big fan of her veggie burger (Vegetarian's are always hard to please, but they have some nice options available). I skipped over the appetizers but we all loved the Buffalo cauliflower (had to google how to spell that...) and the soft pretzels (although I think the order should include an even amount of pretzels, 4 instead of 3). Overall I really enjoyed this place and am happy to see it here in Wappingers. It was a bit too hot to sit outside on the porch but I'm looking forward to coming back here and having a brew outside one evening. I was really looking forward to our takeout order from here tonight because we've loved eating here in the past. Have always supported local businesses during this time and felt like a good burger. We ordered burgers, wings and the lemon cake. Wings were perfect and crispy, the cake was good too. Unfortunately the burgers which really should have been the best part of dinner were completely bland and tasteless. The brioche buns were completely soggy and we had to throw the bottoms out. The meat patties were just gray and not seasoned at all. You can tell they weren't even sprinkled with salt. Really really disappointed. read more

It's frigid outside so I got the smoked Gouda and cheddar grilled cheese with onion jam and the roasted tomato soup. It was simply amazing. Drinks are good. The prices are reasonable as well. The owner/bartender and one waitress served the entire restaurant and we did not wait for anything. In addition the owner was especially attentive. We will definitely be back again soon. I've lived in the Hudson valley for a long time, and I had been dying to go to county fare since they opened. I definitely was not disappointed. It's very nice inside, clean and well decorated. The waitress was so friendly and nice. I'm a waitress myself and I thought her service was exceptional. I had a cosmo that was specific to county fare and it was delicious. My friend that I was with and I shared the pretzel sticks and a steak sandwich. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare like I requested) and the pretzel sticks were delicious! Reasonably priced too, nothing crazy. Definitely check this place out. read more

The tempeh Reuben is usually really good but this time it was weird. There was barely any sauce, no sauerkraut, and burnt tempeh. The cheese wasn't melted either. Was confused by the whole thing and didn't enjoy it. Hopefully it will be better next time! read more

After a fabulous time at the di'Vine Wine Bar, just down the street, we continued a great evening here at the County Fare. Fried Chicken, Bratwurst & Pierogies, Fish & Chips......Buffalo Cauliflower! Ooohhh, the list goes on and one. It's a modern twist on traditional comfort food and they are kicking ass with it. The interior has a super cool retro-country feel to it, goes along perfect with the menu. They have an outdoor dining area and we would have chosen to dine out there had it not been a scorching 94 degree day, but either way that is a huge bonus in my opinion - yeah, I'm outdoorsy....in that I love eating and drinking on a patio! Raymond, the owner, was the nicest guy and very accommodating to our group's needs; and our server, Kimberly, was fantastic and kept right on top of things the whole night. Still love the place for the drink specials but the food quality is slipping. They get the third star this time only because part of the order was fine -- my burger (and I like the place). But the fish and chips weren't good. The batter was thick, gooey and undercooked. My guest picked at the fish after removing all of the goo. It was embarrassing. The price of food definitely reflects the culture shift in the Hudson Valley where NYC prices are making there way up here. My husband and I found the portions to be more than adequate and the quality of the food was outstanding. Great beer selection, eclectic cocktail list. I appreciate the tap takeovers (when we were there hey we're pairing naked flock ciders with various small dishes, 3 cider/food pairings for $13!) We started with the pretzel sticks which were freshly made and very good. I had the fried chicken meal. They served two large breasts and a drumstick. You also get fresh mashed potatoes, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and corn salad. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with a very good buttermilk breaking. I can tell it was made to order and not sitting under a lamp. My husband had the chicken tenders and hand cut fries. He said the portions were good and he would definitely eat it again. My only complaint is that there is no clear hostess area, which makes it hard to get the attention of staff. They had a hiring sign in the window, I definitely think they need more waitstaff. When we got there around 7 there was a 30 minute wait, but it was worth it. I just wish they had a small bench or something in or outside. read more

Three of us - all food people - ate four appetizers and drank lemonade mojitos on a recent summer afternoon, then shared fish and chips and a crunchy kale salad with a very tasty dressing. We looked for a restaurant near Dutchess Stadium to eat before a Renegades game. We found County Fare on Yelp and it was incredible. The drinks were delicious. We had White Sangria and Rose Sangria not were refreshing and great taste. The Popcorn Shrimp PoBoy was overflowing with shrimp. The chicken sandwich was delicious. The hamburger with two 4 oz patties with bacon was unbelievable. The service was great and friendly. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more

The staff are really friendly and the bartenders have a lot of knowledge about their beer selections and are really helpful with helping you find the right beer you are looking for. Read the reviews on here and decided to give it a go. Glad we did! Nice atmosphere and decor, with pleasant staff. Was a quiet Monday night, so not sure how crowded it gets on the weekends. Food was excellent! Cooked to order and very tasty. Prices were pretty good too...$15 for a great burger and $14 for awesome mac & cheese. Nice comfort food! Place just isn't what it used to be. This was a spot I would visit often with friends. The food quality has progressively gone down hill and after the last visit, will not be going back. The buffalo cauliflower was basically raw and tossed in wing sauce, steak sandwich had thick slices of beef that were too big to chew, something simple like buttering and toasting the soggy, stale brioche buns would've saved the other sandwiches. If you are looking for beer and vegan food perhaps this is a good place. I am not a beer drinker and not a vegan. All I wanted was a simple burger. Good sized beef burger, however the tomato slice was paper thin, small slice of lettuce, and some sautéed mushroom and raw onions all on a hamburger roll. The chef is a Culinary Institute graduate. I would have expected far more from a CIA graduate. The burger should have been seasoned, the bun should have been a hard roll or artisan bread type roll, the onions should have been sauteed or cooked (not raw). And a paper thin slice of tomato...... kind of disappointing. It did come with a healthy portion of fries that also should have been seasoned. A $15.00 burger. Come on get real. I think I could have gotten a better and tastier burger at Wendy's. read more
